Everything about these movers is abysmal. My company contracted with them for my relocation. On day 1, the driver showed up at my house with major attitude about finding a place to park, and then about the size of the job. I called my move coordinator and asked to have him replaced. He wasn't. My assumption now is that he was pissed off about this and actively took it out on me in shoddy packing and intentionally mislabeling boxes and contents so they'd be delivered to the wrong rooms and cause me headaches when I unpacked. I've attached pictures showing examples of their packing. I'm unpacking now and have documented at least $800 of items damaged in transit. As I said above, the employee I mentioned seems to have spitefully mislabeled boxes to cause additional work. There are 5 wardrobe boxes in my bedroom marked "clothes" that are actually stuff from the garage, for example. Heavy stuff that O now have to carry back down to unload. Avoid at all costs. If your company subcontracts with them, let your company know and ask if you can pay to self move. I could have hired teenagers off the street who would have done a better job. I'm sure the company will post right below this that I should call them to discuss. Let me ask in advance: why? There is literally nothing you can do at this point to improve the situation. You have caused me countless headaches. Every box I open makes me angry. Moving is stressful enough and you have managed to make it even worse. Your team's sloppy work is making unpacking take twice as long as it should, and now, on top of that work, I have the extra (unpaid) work of documenting all your damage and mistakes. I can really only wish misery on you and all your employees for what you've caused me to go through. read more

Absolutely awful experience. My company arranged my relocation with this company and everything started off okay, but these people scam the corporations that employ them. They hire consultants to be your 'coordinator,' and their only purpose is to cut corners and go cheap after the company paid for the move. They skip on boxes, they skip on proper crating and the driver pushes the team to pack and unpack so quick that everything gets damaged. If you get stuck with CMS, demand another company move you and do not let them touch your property. read more

They asked me where I wanted everything placed at the new residence and had no problem moving to my desired location. I hope this is my last move, but if it's not, I will call CMS again. I have moved four times in the last sixteen years. My last move, with CMS was, by far, the best one. I had asked CMS to pack all of my household goods, and deliver (all 82 boxes) to my new condominium These guys were amazing. The packing was quietly and professionally completed on Day 1, and on Day 2 three movers began to load their truck with the objective to be completely unloaded in my new location (only several blocks away) by 3:00 PM when the loading dock closed. When it became apparent that they were running late, they called for reinforcements, and magically three more equally professional and enthusiastic works arrived, giving me a total of six workers to complete the job. They finished up only several minutes late. That evening I realized that we all had missed a large hallway mirror that still hung in the old location. I texted CMS, and the next day, one worker drove his huge truck back to the old location, and single handedly picked up the 100 pound mirror, loaded it in his truck and drove back to the new location before I even knew he was coming. All with a smile and an apology. He departed with an invitation to please call him if I needed to relocate any of my heavy furniture. Moving can be more painful and stressful than a root canal. CMS did everything they could to make it easy. All of their employees were friendly, professional, and they really knew how to move things. If possible, I would give them six stars. read more

This is the absolute worst moving company you could hire. Three boxes of my most expensive items did not show up and multiple items were damaged. They refused to compensate me for the lost items. $5000 worth of damage / lost items and they offers me $575 in compensation. Do not use this company. read more

I would give this company a zero, but sadly that's not allowed. I've used United Van Lines for every move I've made over the last decade. And never, ever had a problem. When it came time to move from Seattle to Pittsburgh I didn't hesitate to call United once again for moving needs. A few days after I called Rex came by apartment to give me an estimate. As we did the walk through he made note of my large DVD and comic collection. He gave me the estimate. I was happy with the number and papers were signed. A day later he gave me a call and said we were going to do a storage move. I asked him why? And he told me that due to my time frame it was the only way to get my stuff out there in a reasonable time. I then asked him if it was safer then a normal moving van. He said it was. I had to agree since he's the expert. A week later they packed up my stuff. Loaded it into the unit. And off it went. The next day my cats and I drove to Pittsburgh. Due to the fourth of July weekend it would take a few extra days for the stuff to arrive. And on July 8th it did. When the movers started to unload my property I noticed many strange things. Like plastic storage bins were warped. My antique desk was chipped. The plastic boxes with my DVD's were also warped. When I opened them I discovered the packaging of good number of the discs were out of whack and had developed weird spots on them. When I called the company to talk to Rex (who of course wasn't there) put me through to Tony the manager. He seemed willing to help. But never heard of this thing happening before. Neither had I, because on my last cross country trips it hadn't. If you have moving needs I would stay away from this company and Rex and find a company that actually knows something about moving. read more

We moved from a large home in Bellevue, WA to a much smaller residence in Port Townsend, WA. Cory and his team were very personable, extremely respectful of our belongings and were calm, efficient and careful. All our belongings arrived safely, including the piano! The weather was rainy and windy on delivery day and everything ended up dry and safe. It's tough to give them such a low rating as they were extremely nice through the whole move, but they simply didn't deliver. We were making, what I would have assumed, is a very normal corporate move from Bay Area to Seattle. The first major issue was timing. We wanted our stuff to arrive at the same time we did even if that meant it left much earlier than us. They couldn't get it together to get a team out to move our things early enough, but don't worry they said, it will only take 3 to 14 days to deliver. Instead they added on 2 day delay and made it 16 days because they suddenly got busy. They did give us a small credit, but we just want our stuff. They used a local subcontractor to do our packing (someone they have worked with for years). Imagine our surprise when the day after our move Apple notifies us our iPad is online and trying to reset our password. We locked it down via iCloud. The movers stole our iPad! We got it back after we complained -- we were told it was in the box the whole time -- sure. When we got it back it had been set to Spanish so we knew that was a lie. Unlike other corporate moves, they didn't inventory every box, just generally described the contents. So now it's on us, from memory, to figure out if anything else was stolen -- great. read more

CMS has helped us move out of our current house into our new house in multiple stages and have been exceptional at every turn. Their movers are careful, thoughtful, and always on time. We've had to move items into both long-term and short-term storage, and CMS has been exceptional in making sure that everything ended up in the right place at the right time. They have thoughtfully helped us to track all items on the inventory list, and they quickly learn our new home and made it easy for me to tell them where to place items. Let my delivery sit in the port for 11 days and then were many hours later than the delivery time frame window. Again with zero communication. Less than one star would be appropriate. read more

Everything went fabulously. The 2 movers were fast, friendly and very helpful. I was pretty stressed about it, and it ended up being not only super fast and easy, it was actually a pleasant experience. I had the misfortune to use this company in my move from Seattle to Houston, Texas. They were rude, surly, and generally uncooperative. The company uses a "team" approach - one teams packs the customer's belongings, then the second team comes in a day or two to load them. Whenever I'd ask the packing team about something, they'd say, "Oh, the moving team takes care of that." When the moving team arrived, they told me, "The packing team was supposed to do that; we can't move it that way." It's an ideal system for passing the buck. They seemed not to understand that I paid THEM to pack and move my belongings - or not to CARE. They seemed to want me to have done the work, and then pay them for it anyway. MANY items were damaged; a few were outright destroyed, and some simply didn't make the trip to Houston at all. In addition, I received several items marked with a completely different customer's name; I have no idea where he/she may live, but I'm sure they're looking for the back seat to their vehicle in particular. My move was in early November; it's now February, and I'm STILL dealing with claims for MY items which were lost, damaged or destroyed. When Corporate Moving Systems doesn't want to deal with something, they hand it off to "the parent company," which in my case is United Van Lines. Under NO circumstances would I recommend this group of miscreants to anyone to anyone I know. I suggest finding ANYONE else in the Seattle area to do the job, because these people have no regard for anything but getting your money. read more

These people were great! Jim, the leader of the packer and loader teams, was friendly, efficient and professional. Toni stuck with us for the entire process; she was always checking to see that we were satisfied with their performance. The delivery was smooth and flawless. I really liked their use of a checkoff sheet. On top of that their price quote was excellent and their final price was a couple of hundred dollars less than their estimate! We moved to a new home within our neighborhood after 18 years living in our old home. The move was conducted in stages: we needed to put many items in storage for the first phase of our move-staging our previous home for sale; then move all of our furniture after our new house closed; then move the stored items into our new home. Toni Reed was expert at estimating the cost of our move and helping us determine what to store in a storage unit versus United's warehouse for the staging portion of our move. This was an emotional move for our family and Toni was a kind and generous person throughout the move. Our movers were careful and we had almost no damage to our items, only a few minor issues. They also took apart and reassembled a few antique armoires during the move, which was really helpful to us. I would highly recommend United! read more

This was our first interstate move (from WA to MD) and we were really nervous because we read and heard a lot of negative stories about long distance move. We really did our research about moving companies out there as well as asked for referral from friends and family and decided that United Van Lines is going to be our safe option. CMS Relocation is an agent for United Van Lines in Washington and we've had the best moving experience with CMS/United. Rex Powell and Toni Reed are our moving coordinators, they are very friendly, professional and reliable. Rex did the home survey and initial contract and it was such a painless process! Rex provided us with a binding quote, which means there is no hidden or surprise fee. The contract clearly states what are included (e.g. shuttle, moving blankets, packing, full value insurance, etc). Toni checked in with us regularly before, during and after the move to make sure that she has answers to any of our questions and to make sure that this move is a smooth one. Our mover came right on schedule, they were the most professional and efficient movers! Delivery was right on schedule too, very smooth, nothing is missing or broken except for 1 small thing (which I packed, so I only have myself to blame!). During the shipping, we were provided with a tracking number as well as Toni, keeping us informed about the delivery. We are very satisfied with CMS and United Van Lines and will definitely recommend CMS / United to our friends and family. read more

I called this company as they were the first to pop up online after typing in "movers in Seattle" I started to talk to one representative who I told I need to move on Sunday, today being Friday evening. She said they don't do Sundays. They can do later in the week. I said what about Monday. Bloop, phone cuts off. So I called back thinking we were disconnected. Someone else answers the phone. So I start again. She says , the last person told you we don't do Sundays. I said I know I was calling to discuss another day. She says "'Call another company" Bloop...they hung up again. I guess they don't like the sound of my voice. She doesn't even know the circumstances that precipitated the call... Your loss. read more

My family has an upcoming move scheduled with United in early July of 2016 and I wanted to take a moment to write a review about my experience with Rex Powell with CMS. We are moving from Woodinville, WA to Great Falls, VA and finding the best moving company is paramount with such a big move. I had three companies come to my home for estimates and Rex was hands down the most professional and knowledgeable. He followed up our meeting with a phone call and an email, something that neither of the other companies did. He answered every question I had, despite the fact that there were probably a million of them that spanned several weeks. He took the time to compare all three quotes that I received to help us make the most informed decision. There was zero pressure and I truly get the sense that Rex takes great pride in helping facilitate the best moving experiences possible. Since signing with United, Rex has continued to follow up. He has been extremely flexible with a date change, address change, and a change from a full pack to a partial pack. He dropped off some moving boxes/packing materials to get me started, and even came back out to my home to re-assess after I did some packing and purging of junk! I am so incredibly appreciative of Rex for making the front end experience so wonderful. Let's face it, moving is not fun, but it's nice to have a sense that you are dealing with people that value customer satisfaction. I hope the big move to Virginia goes just as smoothly. Absolute horrible nightmare experience! Not only did they actualy loose our boxes but their follow through in ever trying to find our things was pathetic at best. They simply do not care. Even the driver that delivered our things, well most of them, was not truthful when asked about our delivery. Thieves and liars can not be trusted. Please seriously do your homework and do not use this company or the same thing can happen to you. They claim to be #1 with microsoft but be leary many of my clients at microsoft have not heard of them or used them. read more
