We had them move and store our 1bd apartment for several months. There was a lot of initial confusion around it, as I think there was some miscommunication, but it eventually got sorted out. They keep your stuff in big wooden boxes in a warehouse thats shared among a few different storage companies. You give them 24 hours notice of when you need access and they meet you there to get it out for you and put it back when youre done. So far, we've found no damage and they've been easy enough to work with after the initial confusion passed. 3 stars because the initial confusion was very stressful. read more

This company was excellent and went above and beyond before and during the move. The movers themselves were very courteous and helpful on move in day and followed all of the rules (from the HOA) perfectly. Prior to the move, the HOA pushed some very strict guidelines and asked for last-minute documentation, but Move For Less was very responsive and timely, which helped to avert a potentially disastrous situation for the move. This is the second time we've used Move for Less in the past 2.5 years. We did a local move (15 miles) with 4 movers doing a 4 br house. I was curious to see if we were as happy this time as last time (it could have just been luck with the individuals we got). The team delivered again. Update: I have now been waiting 10 days after multiple calls, texts and emails to receive the refund I was promised by 4 different managers. Do NOT use this company. I will be reporting them at this point as they have essentially stolen from me by charging me a $250 last minute cancellation fee even though I cancelled 4 days in advance (because they did not show up on the original date) and their owner acknowledged and said he would refund my deposit. This company is absolutely terrible. I booked a move for Jan 7 and they cancelled about 30 minutes prior to the schedule arrival time. They told me they could try to get a different team out later that day and would update me right away but I didn't hear anything for almost 5 hours despite several attempts to contact them. I rebooked for Jan 13 but then received no confirmation in writing so I booked with a different company and canceled with the owner of Move For Less, who agreed to refund my $50 deposit. On Jan 13 I had four different people contact me to say they were on their way for our move. Now I can't even send a message to the owner on Yelp because it won't go through. Damaged belongings, still missing items and they ran my credit card without authorization for the final bill of which I was not going to pay until we received all our stuff or were compensated. No problem booking an appt online with "no surprise fees".* The movers did their job- they moved things from Point A to Point B. There were large furniture items- living room, bedroom furniture, dining table + chairs, 2 small desks + chairs- and boxes. They also disassembled 2 bunk beds and a queen bed at Point A and reassembled at Point B. Absolutely no problem with the actual moving of furniture. Why 2 Stars? I got a text alert that the movers were on their way, and another alert when they arrived....to the wrong address. Not Point A or Point B. Just the wrong address. Not a big deal because they ultimately arrived to Point A within the designated time frame. Again, the actual moving part, no problems. After everything is moved, signed off on moving docs- which I honestly didn't read as carefully and thoroughly as I should have. When I was given my total, that's when I knew something was off based on my initial estimate when I booked online. After receiving the receipt by email- 10 minutes after the movers left, I saw that the start time was incorrect by almost 20 minutes- when you're paying by the hour, it matters but that wasn't a big deal. What was a big deal was the additional $110 "flat travel" fee that was never mentioned during the initial booking. Surprise! I called to inquire about the charge and I was told that it was an error and that I would be refunded the $110 the next day by certified check. It's been almost 2 weeks and still no refund so....here's your review. Update: I did finally receive a refund. After some back and forth, it was ultimately credited back to the card I used to pay for services. read more

This is not my first time experience with movers so compared to that these guys did a really bad job. They arrived 2 hours late, and told me that they have have been calling me for 30 min and I gave a wrong number on the file. On the other hand there office had the correct number who had been texting me about the arrival of movers. Next thing, I have moved 1 bedroom apartments 2-3 times before and it takes roughly between two and two and half hours. These guys took 6 hours. They were the most slowest movers. I told them the elevator are only reserved till 2pm so they need to hurry, even then they did not care. I had to apologize so much to the tenant who had reserved elevators after 2pm. But above all, they were not at all professional. They tore my mattress, I had scratches all over the apartment, they banged almost every door in my new and old apartment. I had some black marks on my chair, I am guessing they kept something dirty on the chair in the truck which gave stains. I am giving two starts because they apologized for every scratch they made. But again this won't pay for the repair cost my old apartment would charge me. read more

Overall a great experience. After waffling between moving companies for weeks (to be fair, I've never had to hire movers before and I kept hearing/reading about many nightmare scenarios and was trying to mitigate that as much as possible), I finally chose Move for Less. They vere very communicative from the time I requested a quote (perhaps a bit too much, at times), to moving day. We made sure they followed all Covid protocol and even staged our items in specific rooms to avoid them entering the spaces we'd be living until we completely moved out. They were fast and efficient and brought a 20' truck that fit into an extremely narrow driveway perfectly as we live on a busy street and parking is non-existant. Granted, we did have to make two trips in the truck to fit all the items but we were only moving a few miles away so the benefit of two trips worked out since any larger truck would have to be parked further away, taking up more time (and $$)! These guys were boss handling heavy items like a large workbench, table saw and foosball table, and were even helpful when we had to remove a heavy solid door at the new house to fit said foosball table. They were super-efficient and really nice, and ended up finishing in a little over 4 hours instead of 6. With the weekday discount, the pricing was great and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recco them to anyone! Not one damage! Thanks again, Move for Less!!! read more

Please do not book with this company. We booked our move with them a month ago. They texted me the day before the move letting me know that they could not complete the move and asked if they could re-schedule the next day. That wouldn't work because we needed to be out of our apartment. When I told them that, they said they could move us on our original day, but in the afternoon. I was OK with that and they confirmed the move. Then, at 7pm tonight they texted me again to say they could not do the move tomorrow. Why lead me on like this? I could have spent the day contacting other moving companies and now I am stuck here trying to figure out how I am going to move all our furniture out of our apartment. Absolutely unprofessional. Update: I see the owner responded to my review, but he must be confusing me with another customer. When Move For Less texted me the day prior to my move to let me know that a mover was injured and they could not move me on the day scheduled, I let them know that this put me in a tough spot because I needed to have my apartment cleaned and vacant by the date/time they proposed the new move for. It's strange that a moving company wouldn't understand that when your lease is over, you need to be out of your apartment. Daniel responded that he would look for availability on the day I was scheduled for, but in the afternoon instead of morning. Shortly thereafter, I received an email stating that my move was confirmed for the day I had originally scheduled, but in the afternoon, which was still great! I texted Daniel again asking if the move was definitely confirmed, and he responded yes. At no time was I ever told that the new move time was not guaranteed, as the owner states in his response. I'm happy to share screenshots of text messages and emails stating that my move was definitely confirmed. Had I been told that the move wasn't guaranteed, I would have spent the day looking for other movers since I needed to be out of my apartment. Later that evening, near 7pm, however, I received another text from a different person, Mario, who told me that the movers assigned to my afternoon move were injured and that they could not move me until 5 days later, but would offer a 10% discount. Again, I would have been in violation of my lease and paying penalties to the apartment complex if I had not been out of my apartment, so a discount is useless. As a side note, it's also a bit concerning that a moving company has multiple people injured on the same day. Since that exchange the night prior to my "confirmed" move, I have never received any follow up calls or emails from Move For Less "to rectify the situation", despite the owner's statement that they attempted to contact me. I had to email them twice asking for a refund on my deposit until they finally responded that they would send me a check (still waiting for that check, but ultimately I filed a dispute with my credit card company due to their unresponsiveness. They didn't respond to my email until after I had filed the dispute). Long story short - this company couldn't deliver despite their confirmation and assurances, and the owner's response does not align with my experience. read more

Move for Less was timely and responsive to my request for a quote in support of an upcoming move from Seattle to Olympia. The two young men who then handled the move were professional, friendly, and hard working. They expertly wrapped and protected my furniture, and loaded everything into the truck with focus. Everything arrived at my new home without any damage, and unloading it went as well and quickly as loading did. The resulting cost was consistent with the earlier provided free estimate, without any hidden costs or surprise charges, and was very fair and reasonable. On the day of the move, there were some issues in determining arrival time - understandable partially because of how busy they were on the Friday before a holiday weekend, and due to the inherent difficulties with predicting traffic in this region and on the I-5 corridor. It was however an added frustration on an inherently frustrating day (moving sucks, but then, you know that) - and is the sole reason for this not being a 5-star review. Move For Less did the job well. Friendly and communicative, professional and efficient. I was pleased with their service, and would be happy to work with them again in the future if the opportunity arises. read more
