This was the worst moving experience of my life so far…read more I used Magic Moving in 2025 to move from Burien to West Seattle and that team was great, it was 2 people and they took around 3 hours to move my 1 bed/1bath belongings with stairs - on time, efficient, took care of my belongings, and were communicative. Because of that, my partner and I decided to use this company again to move from West Seattle to Fremont on March 6th, 2026. That was a huge mistake. To start off, this team was 3 very young and clearly inexperienced people. We were moving from a 2 bed/1 bath apartment, which had an elevator, to an apartment in Fremont which did have stairs (21 total). They weren't efficient, it took EIGHT hours for three people to move a 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment that was already packed and ready to move. They also HIT AND RAN after hitting a neighbors car and damaged her hood with the moving truck as they were leaving our old apartment (she had to file a police report because it was a hit and run). They put our two flat screen tvs in their PERSONAL cars and we didn't realize until they got to our new place. Once they got to the new apartment, they couldn't maneuver their truck. They wanted to park IN the bus lane even though I told them it was illegal. Then they backed up traffic because they wanted to get as close to the front door as possible even though its a busy intersection and I told them exactly where they could safely park (in our alleyway) but they disregarded that and they tried for about 20 min to maneuver on the street. At this point my partner and I were upset at our experience and knew we were about to pay way more than we should because of how slow and inexperienced this team was. We ended up telling them to leave some items at the old apartment because of how slow they were going. We also ended up telling them to leave all of our belongings on the first floor of our new apartment, which meant we moved all of our stuff ourselves basically. To top it all off, after this EIGHT HOUR ordeal, we had to pay $1300....for three people to move a 2 bed/1bath to a location that was exactly 10 miles away (20 min top). We followed up with the company and told them about our experience to give them a chance to make it right. They emailed back after multiple days and said they would look into the situation. It has now been a full month since that response and there has been no communication at all. We are extremely unsatisfied and will never use this company ever again.

This review is different for the movers vs. the background customer service of the actual company…read more The Movers: they were professional and did a great job. I don't have their names anymore but they came on time and were curteous the whole time. They wrapped my items carefully and pushed through the super heavy stuff. I felt so bad sometimes when they were going up the stairs with heavy things but they never complained and did their job well. The Company & Customer Service: this is, unfortunately, where things took a bad turn. Even though the movers tried their best to be careful, they did break 2 things during the move - I know it was an accident but I still did have to reach out to the company for the insurance. Lion Movers' basic insurance is they pay 60 cents per pound of damaged items. You can pay for more but I just chose the basic insurance. I reached out to the company for the pay out - it was only something like $20 at the end of the day, but they ghosted me week after week. I wrote follow up emails, they ignored me. I wrote more follow up emails, they responded with apologies, but then didn't follow through with the pay out. I gave them more chances - this was over the course of 3+ months for $20 bucks!!! In the end, nothing happened and they just completely ghosted me. I thought this was so incredibly unprofessional and petty. It was literally $20 and of course it wasn't even about the money - it was about the lack of care and lack of unprofessionalism and the principle of it. They didn't follow through with the contract that I signed. So I can't recommend this company due to their lack of follow through when the going gets tough. I think that's really when you see the true colors of a company. If the movers have an accident with your stuff, you cannot trust the company to pay out so you can't trust this company period.
