The customer service was terrible. The movers were subbed out and requested payment upon delivery while they already charged my card. They did not call me directly with the additional items a family member was trying to pawn off on me so had to pay extra. The good - we got moved! Everything else was very difficult; it was a long day. They were late arriving and took 20 mins to get out the truck & start after arriving. They didn't have shoe covers & damaged our carpets. They refused to move a dresser they said it was too heavy (it was 164lbs per manufacturer's website). They couldn't get a couch through the door; had to call my Dad over to get it in after they left. They also took a VERY long lunch then required 2 hrs longer than quoted to complete the move and we were FULLY PACKED when they arrived. They attempted to sneak in extra fees &&&&&& they also broke our television. Will not book again. read more

Sam and Dastan hit it out of the park! We had already moved the majority of our 2BR/2BA, but needed help finishing up before the end of the month and we're running close to the wire (the 29th!). I was sure that it would take longer than the 3 hour minimum, but Sam and Dastan were miraculously able to wrap up the job in 3 hours on the dot. They were up front and transparent about any extra charges (we were charged $150 for the 32 steps up to our flat). And these guys worked HARD with hardly any downtime or breaks. I was floored. You may be able to find a lower hourly rate with other moving companies in the city but I was beyond pleased with their hard work and was happy to pay the rate with how quickly they got the job done. Here's the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly about Goat Movers: The Good: They showed up on time, with a moving truck and 3 movers right on time as promised; provided plastic wrap as promised; and were polite; The Bad: The charged a higher hourly rate than promised; They didn't load all our stuff in the truck (although there was sufficient room to do so); and they refused to load it in the order requested according to a map they were provided (so we could find our stuff in storage later when we needed access to it); and The Ugly: The lumber they neglected to load was 10-12' clear cut fir beams worth about $1,800 - and we had no way to move it after the truck left - so wound up having to give it away. After providing evidence of the hourly charge quoted they took a week to reimburse us; They lied and said they were instructed to leave the fir beams behind; and They refused to provide any rebate in the cost we paid for their errors. As a result, we paid them $1,680, lost $1,800 in lumber, and have to unpack portions, if not all, of our 10' x 30' storage unit every time we need something which has been 2-3x/week since then. If your standard for movers is "good enough" they're probably a good enough choice, but if you expect them to earn the 5* ratings they seem to have so many of, you'll likely be disappointed. We expected 5* service but our experience of them was closer to 3*. read more

This move was a disaster from start to finish. The crew failed to attach hardware to our bed frames and never returned our hardware. Boxes were haphazardly stacked, blocking walkways and causing our TV and other items to be damaged when carelessly leaned against doors. My professionally packed pictures were dangerously stacked in the garage with no regard for their value. Item placement showed zero thought - my disassembled Peloton was buried under poorly stacked boxes, requiring TWO additional hours for the crew to dig it out. This was completely avoidable with basic planning. Despite wet, muddy conditions, there was no offer to protect our floors or new carpet. I repeatedly asked them to remove shoes and stop using hand dollies on our carpeted stairs. I had to beg them to wrap my white couch cushions. My bed frame, though wrapped, was packed so poorly it now has permanent abrasions and indentations. They unloaded my filing cabinets containing sensitive documents and threw the papers on the floor, then carelessly dumped them into a wardrobe box. The crew didn't even have tape guns, so I assembled boxes three times faster than they could. I should not have been doing their job. This company showed a complete lack of professionalism and care. Updating my review as I recommended this service to my parents undergoing a similar move. My parents had every box organized by size ready to go by the door with only big furniture left (for a two bedroom apartment). Movers arrived at 9:30am. It is now 6:45pm and they are STILL there loading. I had a similar experience but was pressured into leaving a high review while the employee watched me. In fact, my husband and I were so upset with how slow and late our move was that we asked our movers to get everything into our garage and leave. I had to have my mom watch my young baby so I could help the movers cut through 600 layers of plastic wrap to get them out faster. The team is cautious but SO, so, SO slow and wrap as if you're moving through an active war zone. It's frustrating to feel hostage in your own apartment while you helplessly watch them move at a snail's pace. read more

This company may be the cheapest, but good luck getting them there. I tried for two days to get them to my apartment but they never arrived. These guys can't/won't follow directions, and when I called them they claimed I didn't answer my phone or else they did arrive. Really, then why didn't they knock on my door? I finally scheduled another mover. It was far more expensive, but I needed somebody reliable. Two days wasted, to top it all off, they told me that my move was cancelled like it was my fault and their decision. The typical horrible customer service you usually get nowdays. Don't book these guys unless you can wait about 2 years, that's about how long it'll take for them to find you. Cheap isn't always better. read more

Wow! We had to hire a four person crew due to having to move a piano, and Sam and his crew delivered! They were super fast, but did high quality prep (cellophane, boxes, moving blankets - the works). I was blown away by their efficiency and kindness as odds and ends had to be added to the move last-minute. The price for the move (West Seattle to Tacoma) was an incredible value! We had a small 2 bedroom apartment. We scheduled 3 guys to start at 2pm. They didn't arrive until 3:30pm. There were 2 older men and a young man so obviously they're going to move slower than if they were all young and/or in good shape. It took them 3.5 hours to pack up our small 2 bedroom apartment, 2 hours to unpack with an elevator at the new place for, 5.5 hours total for about $1000. Last year we moved into that place from 2 other locations with a 50 min travel distance in about 3.5 hours with a bunch of more difficult stairs for about $700. So yes I copped an attitude asking why are they moving so slow, we're paying by the hour. And started recording them for evidence. They didn't like it and had the audacity to ask towards the end of loading the truck if I want to stop service.... the f*ck? No! Then they said they were unable to get a large piece of furniture out my room, which I was able to get out the room no issue the next day to clean up the old apartment. So they just won't try if it looks like a hassle clearly so I lost an $180 piece of furniture because they're weren't smart enough to figure it out. Also their supplies/packing tools are subpar. They were taking more time ($) saran wrapping things (which does nothing to protect half the items they did that for) instead of wrapping things in thick blankets. Then to secure the blankets they used tape. The previous movers used straps that tightened over the blankets. Taping them took extra time so extra $. They forced me to pay before unloading the truck signing that the move was complete and all with no issues. Poor business practices. I I calmed down and took initiative to apologize and offered an $180 tip. Best believe I called my bank to cancel that transaction as incomplete services to recomp the piece of the furniture. They made this move so much more stressful and I literally cried after I moved the furniture out my room into the kitchen cuz wtf!..I have an autoimmune disorder and moving all the debris from the broken down piece was very taxing on my body. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I didn't treat them like animals nor was I watching them the whole time. I wasn't even there when they arrived. Recording because I am unhappy is not treating them like animals. BTW The Bureau of Household Goods and Services SAYS TO RECORD!Letting them know I'm unhappy is not treating them like animals. And I was quoted 3-4 hours and that's how long the initial move took so no it wasn't in a timely manner. They disassembled they did not reassemble my bed, my cabinets and my couch. They left my couch in the middle of my building. They wanted an extra $300 to move the couch, preposterous or movers ever. If I could have given this company a ZERO rating, I would have. I beg anyone who is considering using this shady company to not use them. We recently used Goat Movers to move a few partitions from one office to another. They quoted us a reasonable price; but, unfortunately, since they were by the hour, we quickly found out the four movers worked as slow as possible. It took them almost 8 hrs at one location. Then we waited over an hour for them to get to the next location. Again stalling! . I continued to watch four of them standing around. Once 13 hrs went by, I was beside myself and let them have it. The language barrier was evident; but, one managed to text my co-worker and ask her out as he was supposed to be working in the other room. That's when I had enough. Needless to say, they stopped unloading their our things and we NEVER received part of our furniture (Chairs and partition pieces). They also wouldn't leave without payment. My co-worker made arrangements to pay via credit card, but they refused to leave until we paid them right then and there. They charged us for 13 hrs (and even tried to charge us overtime) which was a complete joke. But we had to pay to get this horrible experience behind us. Please do NOT use this company. Take our bad experience and go with another reputable moving company. read more

Alex, Dan and his team of 3 were amazing from the start of the move to the finish. There were a lot of details to coordinate and they managed to go with the flow every step of the way. Dan was great at communication throughout, and as other reviewers have mentioned, there are NO hidden charges for flat rate moves, just an incremental hourly rate above 3 hours which is totally reasonable. This includes plastic wrap, tape, etc. There were a couple of moments where I recommended furniture NOT be disassembled simply due to my concern about it being put back + the time it would take to do so. Other than that they were efficient, pleasant, and wore masks throughout. Their management does ask for half a payment upon completion of loading at the pickup point, which is not part of California required law; I was willing to send a smaller portion in good faith given they are actually registered with the USDOT and California, and they also have the required insurances (not the case for MANY movers out there!) I suggest you do your independent research on that before booking withy any company. A quick reddit/moving company search will lead you to very scary stories. DO NOT USE THESE UNPROFESSIONAL MOVERS! They will rob you by milking time and break your things in the process. First, we scheduled service for 3 guys to move our 2 bedroom apartment less than 10 miles. Only two showed up; the third was 30 minutes late. Honestly not a big deal if the rest didn't happen. The lead guy, Zhora asked us if they would be moving our 2 mirrors, gym weights and TV's (all which we noted in our moving questionnaire) to which we told him "yes, all needs to be moved". He looked at us annoyed and huffed and puffed around like he was bothered that he had to deal with regular items. Then tried to pin the $150 "extra heavy" charge on us for the weights, none of which were over 75lbs. Everything was packed in boxes and ready to go and still the loading up took over 6 hours, largely due to their inefficiency and slow moving. Not sure why they needed to tape and plastic wrap everything a million times, such a huge waste of time to apply and remove. We've used movers in the past to move the exact same stuff a shorter distance, so I know it should take no more than 5 hours max. They also ended up missing an entire coat closet and asked if we could handle that ourselves, which we had to go back later and get. Not only that, but the way they handled our items and ignored "FRAGILE" markings was ridiculous. We watched them try to roll our TV stand on its side (WHY) and doing so snapped the leg off making it unusable. They also tried the same rolling method with the TV, again WHY!? It's only 55' and can easily be carried or dollied. Obviously, we checked the TV as soon as it arrived in the new home and sure enough it was cracked on the side they rolled it on. You can imagine how angry we were after that. Damage still doesn't end here, there was also a small chip in one of our mirrors. After the end of the 8+ hour move, the lead mover tried bargaining with us for 45 minutes - telling us he'll superglue our TV stand and that he has a slightly smaller TV that he can give us to replace the broken one. WHAT?! He argued with us telling us we should have turned on the TV before he moved it so he could verify it worked before. It was dark and late by this time and we were in no mood to negotiate deals with him, so paid him for the total hours and asked him to leave. I'm baffled by the low level of service and the inexperience of these movers. This move ended up costing us $2,000 ($1500 move + cost of new TV) and we are deeply upset by what we got in return. We tried contacting their office to try and make up for our awful experience, but all I received were apologies, and counter blaming us for not turning on the TV before the move. We feel so deeply robbed and cheated by this company. Save your time, money and valuables and use a different moving service. read more

I hired a team of 2 for $139/hr (min of 3 hours required) to move a studio sized amount of belongs from storage into my new apartment. There is no hidden truck or gas fee - the hourly rate is what you get! Although there was an hour window for arrival, Zhora texted me the day of the move with the ETA so I was able to get to my unit accordingly. They moved fast and were able to get all my belongs to my apartment in 2 hrs! I appreciate their pace and would recommend SOS moving. read more

They were on time and offered me to be 15 min early if it worked for me. We were moving an entire library collection we had purchased and it was a sensitive pick-up due to the original owner passing away and the children were selling the collection on her behalf. These guys are fantastic. It was my first time using a moving company and they did not disappoint. The workers were professional and friendly. They handled my furniture and boxes with care and worked quickly. Originally, I was debating if two workers were enough, but I ended up going with three and that was the right decision. The move went a lot faster and while two of the workers were moving boxes, the other would be prepping the furniture for transport. Zhora was our main contact and he was very helpful and a great communicator. They texted reminders and updates regularly during the move. We moved from our 1 bedroom apartment in downtown Oakland to a 2 bedroom apartment in Albany. We were helped by a crew of three: Jorah, Alex and Teddy. The three were exceptional in all respects. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They also messaged 45 min earlier to let us know they were on the way. They were careful to make sure their truck fit comfortably into the loading dock. Both buildings are condominiums and we were concerned about making sure nothing was damaged. They drove the truck with expert care! Ours was a complicated move out as the building required we use the service elevator. This added additional steps for the crew but they managed it easily. In the apartment, they took care of all of our fragile items. They also packaged items we had forgotten to wrap (dresser/lamps). They covered the items in blankets and shrink wrapped everything carefully. While Jorah shrink wrapped items, Alex and Teddy moved things from the 5th floor to the 3rd floor service room and down the 3rd floor service elevator into the loading dock. From there, they packed up the truck and we were off. The second condo couldn't accommodate the truck's size but the crew parked the truck on the street and managed it, so it didn't impede traffic. Fantastic! From here, the three were machines. They unloaded the truck and loaded the apartment quickly and carefully. It took about 3 hours to move out, a half hour to drive in traffic, and 2 hours to move in. I would easily trust the crew again. You really can leave them the keys and just come back in the evening with everything taken care of. We felt so grateful for their care and attention. We didn't need to lift a finger throughout the day. We tipped and felt it was well earned! Thank you crew! read more
