I used this company a few years ago for a move and it went OK. The rate was good and they did a decent job although I asked their movers to mask because we are immune compromised and one of them removed her mask right in our faces while we were paying which I did not appreciate and was dangerous. This time the crew was 45 minutes late because they went to the wrong address during the first part of the move despite me being very clear, repeatedly, where to go. That was very inconvenient and my mom had to wait around in her car outside a storage unit while I kept having to message to ask what was going on and barely got a response. I received the final invoice and paid it immediately with a nice tip anyway. A couple days later I started getting a bunch of emails from the company saying that I hadn't paid. I sent them a screenshot of the $0 invoice balance and the transaction on my credit card. It had the name of the owner and a transaction ID and their ZIP Code. They continued to message me every few days saying we didn't get your payment, you must've sent it to the wrong place, they even sent me another invoice like they expected me to pay again. I kept telling them to check in on their side and that I didn't know what else to do. I provided ample screenshots showing that I paid and they kept blaming me and trying to bill me again. I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company which was painful because I'm disabled and making phone calls hurts me. I didn't know what else to do because this is not a small bill and the company wouldn't stop bothering me. Finally they made a call themselves and immediately sorted it out which they could've done in the first place and then they apologized to me and said yes you did pay right away it was an error on our end. This was a complete waste of time and completely unprofessional. It's not appropriate to harass a customer who paid, who has clear evidence of paying, instead of just doing your due diligence and trying to resolve the issue without making me feel doubted and blamed for days. I can't recommend this company and I'm very angry about the way I was treated. Harassed for something that wasn't my fault at all and that they could've resolved with one quick phone call on their end instead of bothering me when I had just moved and they know I'm disabled. American Moving was great to work with. They were on time, flexible when I got the day wrong. and worked me in between other jobs. They moved my stuff from storage in Tacoma down to far west Olympia in 3 hours. They were efficient yet somehow unfazed by the project (unlike moi). Used this service to move a multiple piece sectional couch from Lacey to Bremerton. The two guys that arrived were on time and got straight to work. Great conversation and great service. On our arrival to Bremerton they were very quick with unloading and assembling the unit and no damages were noted on my item. I originally booked via Thumbtack but they offered timely responses on yelp as well. If you're looking for a service that gets the job done right the first time I would recommend. This crew does a lot more than move your crap. I was looking for move help and ended up having them haul a ton of stuff to the dump as well as arranging for them to do my apartment move and take a derelict vehicle off our property. They are friendly, efficient and work hard and most importantly, don't make fun of the stupid, stupid stuff you collect too much of ( yes, we know about your collection of "priceless" porcelain Garfield figurines) Also, and I should have mentioned this first, both services, the trash haul and the move combined, cost less than the estimates for the trash haul alone from other providers. We needed to move some heavy items to Tacoma Furniture and Consignment store. American Moving was first on their list of recommended movers. After my initial conversation with Neil, I felt like I didn't need to search any further. I liked the fact that they were a small, local company and Neil was very friendly and accommodating in working us into his schedule in a timely manner. His quote was very fair and I appreciated receiving a prompt, professional electronic bid. On the schedule pickup day, there was a bit of miscommunication regarding early arrival, but Neil and his partner were very relaxed, patient, and helpful in helping in getting the furniture pieces unloaded and ready to move. Once the move began, they were very efficient while also showing respect and care for our other belongings and property. The move was by no means an easy one as it entailed an elevator and stairs, but they made it a breeze. What an incredible team! My husband & I had requested a pack up, move & delivery in such short notice & they did not disappoint. They arrived early and went straight to work on our move. They are military friendly and military veteran owned. Even though our insurance covered our move, their prices are extremely reasonable. They packed and wrapped everything. The crew is very friendly and there is great communication, but all of the good feelings ended on moving Day. When all was said and done, it took twice as long for them to move us then we were quoted, which meant our quote doubled - even though they brought 2 more crew members than our quote said. In addition, when they packed our things we found heavy books on top of family pictures, which are broken, along with 3 broken vases and a broken lamp. It seems that in the beginning they were concerned with our objects, but as they got tired that care went away. Would we hire them again?
