Signing up was super easy and entirely online, rates were reasonable (I think...I've never had a storage unit before). Access is entirely through an app on your phone. For a while my app was buggy and I had trouble getting into the unit, but then I discovered it was my phone's VPN, so once I learned to deactivate that access was no longer an issue. The place is clean, heated and well lit. There are always plenty of carts and every time I've had to talk with staff they were very friendly and helpful.

I had my storage for a few months, noticed mice droppings in the storage after a couple months. I reported it right away. They were apologetic and said they would get somebody on it. I went back three days later. Nothing happened and there's more droppings and now URINE! When I went to the front desk, there was a different woman at the desk I interrupted her on a personal call. She wouldn't even look at me. She wouldn't give me her manager's number or email. She said she can't get that information out. She said that they were going to have someone come and check it out but Company only comes out once a month for pest control. I explained , this is an emergency clearly there's rodents here that needs to be addressed . I was met with rolled eyes. I emailed the customer service department, they were actually very good! They Immediately escalated it to the managers so I was very hopeful. Unfortunately, my hope was short lived. I have been told they're doing everything to try to find out where the rodents are coming from. But in actuality, nothing has been done. It's been over a month . Nothing's been DONE! Now, several pieces of my nice wood furniture have been ruined and I have to go through my private HOME insurance. This is what secure space is banking on unless you purchased their own insurance..DO NOT WASTE ONE PENNY AT THIS PLACE!!!! I have given them too much time to fix this... I will be taking my stuff out of there! Just so you know, the ceilings are open with chicken wire. The rodents are getting in and jumping from storage to storage. I wish I would've noticed this before while I first renting this place. I hope I save somebody the heartache, stress and the money that I've had to deal with!!

Despite being a loyal customer for the aforementioned 8 years, they effectively doubled my rate in less than two years (and they also eliminated an annual discount). The irony is that one employee admitted they could give me twice as much space for less than one-third of my current price if I moved into a larger unit. But then, of course, I knew the jacking up of rates would continue all over again, even higher than before. This was their "solution." I think they are unethical, and you will regret patronizing them. My advice -- as of April 2025 -- is to stay far, far away.

This is the first Self Storage facility I have had to use and my experience so far has been…read morepleasant. I have no complaints as of yet. The property is gated where you use your own access code followed by a key pad used at the elevators. Everything seems very secure and I like that very much. The building is also very clean with no garbage laying around. Note that the units are indoors in a controlled environment. I am not sure how long I will be needing storage but the prices are right and I will most likely be using this location to store the things I care about for years to come as long as I live in Tacoma. Lastly the ladies at the front desk are very nice and always willing to answer any questions you might have. I recommend checking this storage facility out. I am sure you will be impressed.

In July I decided to use…read moreSecure Space storage with a locked in charge rate of $238.00 per month; it was a verbal confirmation. .....only to receive an up charge in October, 2 months after moving in, my monthly charge was going up to $355.00 per month in November. I decided to contact company as they were open to my input, however, they were only able to give me a $20.00 dollar discount. So now I pay $334.75 that started in December. Gee that's still a $95.75 increase. Even the rental markets for apartments only go up 10%. I do not recommend this company as I still feel like they gouged me and took advantage. I was able to see less cost for similar storage than current pricing before I decided on Secure Space and I hope all company's don't do this. If I had known they would do this I would have chosen another, closer to me, storage unit. I feel like I'm locked in as getting stuff to storage was costly and to remove it will be also, so I guess I'm stuck. Customer service through company office is not consistent and what reflected at office is not always same as talking and securing on line. One has to follow up to guarantee pricing. I will compliment the office staff as they are sympathetic, helpful and personal and units appear secure. I'm not sure these 2 benefits are worth the $98.00 monthly increase. I do plan on getting my things removed ASAP but that's dependent on circumstances currently waiting upon. I can't wait to vacate and save $100. Per month. Ask questions and get contacts in writing and do not assume they will be careful with you through honesty and pricing.
