My move was in January and I've since opened all the boxes. I saw a member of the crew walking to his car with a box. He said it was fragile and wouldn't fit in the big truck. I have a gourmet kitchen and I'm missing all my oils, vinegars, at least 2 specialty cookbooks and various utensils. At least 3 boxes. Don't hire someone to steal from you. Insurance wouldn't help in this case, at this point. read more

They did a pretty good job! Some cell phone use and a little rough on some of the items, but over all pretty good. I felt a little bit rug pullish on the travel time costs, I wish I had a number for those upfront. He was very upfront about the costs of the 4 guys per hour, but never did I hear the travel time costs, which were significant (pretty much double what it cost to load the truck) and I though unloading would be the the more affordable of the two. That being said, they got it done and thats what really matters. Probably wont use them again unless in a pinch. read more

Joe and his team were great! They arrived on time and worked fast. They moved some heavy stuff without question and set up things at our new home so we were sleeping in our own beds that night. Aloha Joe is the best. It's our second time using them to move within 3 years and they were great both times. We did a ton of reading and research... it really helps to be organized! The crew is detail-oriented, works together like clockwork and observes safety protocol to protect their bodies from the heavy lifting. We made charts of the rooms and areas in our old house and our new house and labeled each box and item with the room letter so they could tell where the items went when we arrived. Before we started, we gave them instructions and did walkthroughs in both houses to show them where things were and where they went. If I could post a minus two million I would do so, I have been needing to post a review for some time, yet I get very upset thinking about it. My mother hired them not me, so I was stuck and did not have or get much of a choice in the mater. I was moving about 5 miles, and not a large amount of things, just a a two bed room condo. The owner showed up unfortunately ( as my mom had used them) minus his appearance' and had a good experience, thus hiring them to her her daughter. Upon going over the information on the contract they mentioned they were charging me for insurance and it was a chunk of money $200.00 plus, and I thought we are going 5 miles down the street, and only moving a minimal degree of things. So as I was declining the owner came in and had a real problem with it and actually got upset with me. I had a day bed and it was originally $500.00 porcelain balls with decorative flowers on the end. The not so bright helper started to unscrew them and I said please do not do that they are not meant to be detached. So he listened and stopped then the owner ordered him to continue and I said PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT!. The owner retorted to me that they may get damaged and since I had chosen not to purchase the insurance that they would remove them and I basically had no say in it? So they forced them off and the one was damaged and the washer bent and other parts fell into the bottom of the post internally. This is a true story with absolutely no exaggeration, I said to my mom "why on earth did you refer me to them" She said that when she moved the owner was not present and it went smoothly. So now my day bed sits in the garage and I cannot even sell it, also my Maple bedroom set was banged up and scratched, several items were, yet I had no insurance. read more

Excellent moving job by Aloha Joe Movers today July 6, 2016. They arrived on time, they loaded and unloaded everything carefully, the crew (Joe Ness, Derek and Vladimir) was strong and capable enough to handle everything, etc. Definitely recommend and would use them again if we move (which I hope we won't have to do for some years!). They use a 20-foot (?) truck, so if you have a lot of [large] items, you may need another truck or more than one trip. Save your back and speed up your move by calling Aloha Joe. read more

I used Aloha Joe back in August of 2017, and though I did a review on Angies List, I wanted to add one here. I found Joe two days before my move, so arrangements were made solely on the phone. He gave me a fair quote, mentioned that he could also do a dump/donation run after the move. He showed up early, calling first, and brought three great guys with him. We did a walk thru of the house, going over what was going to the new place and what was getting dumped/donated. They loaded up the first load, then went to the new house and unloaded with the guidance of my brother. Came back, loaded again and then we all went back and his crew placed furniture where I wanted it. Then the last load was everything being dumped and donated. Everything arrived in one piece (only went a mile), and I didn't even have to empty all the drawers or take the drawers out of furniture. The guys worked like clockwork and made the move a bit less stressful for me. If I move local, I'd used Aloha Joe again in a heartbeat. read more

Messy, no plan. Got BBQ grease all over carpet, and all they had to say was, it's difficult to move outside stuff though a house.

We used them with much prior notification and invitation to come look at what they'd be moving however the owner assured us it would be absolutely no problem. They only got half our stuff moved, wouldn't finish! We had to hire another company to finish the job, THIS COMPANY NOT RECOMMENDED.
