This is probably the 100th time I'm commenting about this service. They are terrible at what they do. We've been trying to reach them for months, no response. We paid for the service and the insurance, yet all they do is ignore the delays, the broken items, and the damage they caused. We left voicemails, emailed multiple times, and submitted messages through the portal's help section, and still nothing. At this point, we need to escalate this because almost everything they moved or stored came back lost, broken, or damaged. We're not letting them get away with this. read more

The great people of Clutter at the ground level are what made Clutter great, and they either got rid of them or really hurt their ability to do their job well. Oh boy - I didn't realize it could get worse... After retrieving my items (required Yelp review + an internal corporate escalation!) I found 3 of my items to be massively damaged. Shouldn't be a problem, since I bought insurance... Oh but of course not with Clutter! I've been chasing them down for 2+ months with LONG stretches of non-response from their team and they refuse to reimburse me for ANY of the damages even though I spent money on their insurance plan that should've covered it all! By NO means should you store anything with Clutter, but if you find this review after and are likely in the same spot as me... I would ask for immediate escalation and avoid David (Customer Care Associate III) at all costs! DO NOT USE THEM. Incredibly terrible experience, filled with false promises and misleading charges. The pickup and storage of my items with fine, the team came on time and packed up all of my items well. However, all of the issues began when I wanted to end my storage and remove my items. 1. Before choosing clutter, I had send an email to customer service asking if it would be possible to deliver / move my items from Clutter's storage to New York City. It was a key decision in picking my storage service. Clutter's Customer service quickly responded that it was possible. HOWEVER, upon trying to remove my items, my delivery address (10010 zip) is not part of Clutter's serviceable area. This has now left me in a rut of having to figure how to get my items out of storage. 2. When trying to coordinate a warehouse pickup from Clutter to get all my stuff, they did NOT HAVE ANY AVAILABILITY 3 weeks from now (i.e. after my monthly renewal would occur). Not only will this be after my move-in date to my new apartment, but it would also require me to GET CHARGED AN EXTRA MONTH'S OF STORAGE when i don't need it. My items are essentially being held hostage in Clutter's storage. 3. On top of that, I am going to be charged at least $222 for a direct pickup from Clutter's storage. This makes no sense because Clutter's delivery to a 'serviceable' area is free of charge up to 6 hours. I am about to 1. get charge an extra month on storage ($150) and 2. get charged another $222 to get a full warehouse pickup to get my items. Overall, it's been a terrible experience and the customer service is misleading and unhelpful. It feels like the company is geared to doing everything it can to get longer storage times based on how difficult it is to get your items. Don't be an idiot like me that got fooled by their marketing and customer service. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL, IT IS A SCAM. In true Clutter customer support fashion, when I called the number provided by their business manager, my only option was to file a claim, not speak with Trust & Safety to have them hear my experience and identify a way to make amends. So I have used Clutter for almost four years now and I usually don't have any issues; They come pick up my things, I pay for the storage, they return my belongings. But this year, they have been particularly impossible. I booked my return appointment months in advance and they canceled it the day before, citing an issue with my card. I find out they charge the wrong card, but they refused to reinstate my appointment. Now I am stranded, attending college without any of my belongings and essentially living out of my suitcase. They have no options available and will not let me even have the option to pickup my things myself. This is unacceptable and I literally can't get any help from Customer Service, so I will have to escalate this to their owners to see if I can get any actual help with this issue. read more

If it could give a company 0.5 or 0 stars I would. I would say the pick-up of my items was fine but the movers were 5 hours late and even though I paid for 5 hours of free service, they told me they would need to leave after 4 hours with no recommendations of how I would pack the rest of my things even though I waited for 5 hours for the movers to arrive. After loading all my things it took over 3 days for my belongings to be scanned into the warehouse. As September 1 was a holiday, however knowing that this date is the busiest move in date of the year in Boston. There was no customer service available and I was "next in line" on the chat line for 4 hours. Multiple customer service people including my movers made it seem like delivering on September 1 would be possible and if not that, the 2nd or 3rd, but after 3 days of waiting to be able to schedule an appointment the soonest I was able to get was September 27th. On top of that they have now scanned all my items into the warehouse but I would have to pay $50 to pick-up my items and next available appointment isn't until September 29th. This doesn't feel right. These are my personal belongings and I can't retrieve them until another month even though Clutter makes it clear that you're paying for the movers and the storage unit. But when you schedule a pick-up they don't help you with anything, not moving or transportation. You have to pay to pick your own belongings up, but not soon, in a month!! I now have had to purchase all new essentials like mattress, WiFi, kitchen items because Clutter won't open any sooner appointment even though they "know how busy this month is for moving." I was on the phone with someone from customer service today for an hour basically telling me the whole time that there is nothing she can do because everything is planned out "logistically." Very disappointing end...Clutter customer support ill advised me regarding my 4 month commitment. When I tried to schedule a final delivery before the end of my 4 months commitment the system did not give me the ability to do so. I should have known better when I had to clarify what my terms were with the customer support. I will never use this company again. I was ill advised by Clutter customer support regarding refunds and retro-billing. I filed a claim regarding the billing issue and was denied without a thought or consideration to reaching some type of amends or acknowledgement of being misinformed by their own staff. Clutter abruptly canceled my move partway through--without warning or consultation--because their crew allegedly found mouse droppings behind two pieces of furniture. The movers themselves seemed surprised and told me the decision wasn't theirs. I was never given the chance to clean or address the issue. I then had to hire emergency cleaners and a more expensive moving company the next day. When I reached out to Clutter asking for an explanation, I received only a generic reply with no real engagement. No apology, no offer of resolution, no accountability for the disruption they caused. I understand that safety is important--but the way this was handled was cold, rigid, and costly for me. They won't allow me to pick up myself or get my things delivered. I do not recommend storing with Clutter. I have had a very, very poor experience with them. They will charge you for more space than you need, they will charge you for extra time for moving (and send one mover to move a 1BD with sofas and large mattresses), you will get many items damaged (and their insurance will decline it), and you will have to schedule your drop off weeks in advance. read more

Clutter took my items to storage and I have not been able to get in touch with customer service representative since to schedule return delivery. First available appointment for their movers to get stuff out of storage on their site is over a month away forcing me into paying for two months of storage when I only need one. When you look at their regular moving availability for new appointments they have plenty of available windows. I have called multiple times and tried using their chat but they continuously disconnect or say they will call back and don't. At this stage I am pretty sure this place is a scam. Incredibly terrible experience. DO NOT USE THEM. We booked an appointment with them and then, a week later after confirming the appointment, they sent us a random email informing us we had canceled. We had not. When I contacted customer service, even the service agent was confused. He later found out the appointment was canceled by them because they were short on staff. My son is "dying" for his clothing items, bedding, sheets, towels, and other items. We've had to buy these items all over again. I am now asking for a FULL refund and delivery of his items no later than Friday this week. My next step is contacting the Federal Trade Commission and the attorney general. Don't waste your time and money - Clutter is an absolute scam! After botching my pickup in both terms of storage price and timing, despite filling out an extensive document, they have now also made getting my items back an absolute nightmare. The Clutter warehouse in the Boston area is in Franklin, MA - about an hour's drive outside of the city. I tried scheduling a drop-off for my items well in advance and they did not have ANYTHING available until two weeks after when I would move in. If I wanted a sooner date, I had to come and pick up my belongings myself. They made that miserable, too. I couldn't stay on the waitlist for the delivery (which would save me hundreds) while making an appointment to pick up (which would cost me hundreds). I ended up losing my spot on the delivery waitlist because I couldn't bear the thought of having to sleep on the floor or spend even more money on hotels, by waiting for two weeks. Besides holding your belongings hostage in storage you can't access, they charge you an ARM AND A LEG to pick up your items. To retrieve about half of my belongings, I had to pay $450. THEN, I also had to pay for a moving truck from Boston to drive an hour to their warehouse, load up the items, and drive it to my new apartment to unload. In all, I ended up spending $1,000 on the other movers plus the $450 for pickup. These were costs I did not expect, and certainly not what I had signed up for - I wanted the "ease" they seemed to portray in their advertisement and was willing to pay a higher storage price for it. When I reached out to the "Trust and Safety team", they just threw a policy into an email back denying any compensation for the ridiculous amount of money I had to spend to end up doing the move myself. In all of my interactions, the Clutter customer service has been rude and unhelpful. Honestly, I don't even know how this company is still operating. My son, stranded on campus without his essentials, has been forced to spend extra money on clothes. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with Clutter's moving service. We signed up with them expecting a reliable service, but it became a nightmare, causing significant problems for my son. My college student son was expecting the delivery of his items on 08/31. He had been on a waiting list until a few days ago when Clutter confirmed via email that this date had opened up and delivery could be done on 08/31. We confirmed it online, and the Clutter account showed delivery scheduled for 08/31 between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. However, on 08/31, nothing was delivered despite multiple calls to customer service. Each time, we were told that my son was still on the waiting list, which was deceitful since we had been notified by email on 08/24 that 08/31 was available, and we reserved this spot right away. When I spoke to a Clutter customer support representative to inquire about the status at the end of the day, I was told that the next available spot was September 13th. My appeals, explaining that all my son's possessions are in nine (9) boxes with Clutter and he cannot be without them for so long, fell on deaf ears. As a result, my son had to go to Target in Boston to buy some bedding and other necessities to survive until Clutter finally delivered his stuff. This unexpected expense was an additional burden on us. We still do not clearly understand when the delivery will be made. This experience has caused significant inconvenience and stress, especially during the critical move-in period. The lack of communication, false promises, and failure to deliver as scheduled are unacceptable. Clutter has failed to meet even the most basic expectations of a moving service.
