I called two piano moving companies - the first one was a joke; the second one was Mass Bay Movers and I stopped there. Lilly Miller was pleasant, professional, and followed through quickly with an estimate. She also kept in touch with me to finalize arrangements for moving the piano. The pickup time was between 8 am and 9 am and the movers showed up right at 9 am, which was fine. However, they did not have the correct information about what was being moved or what the price was. The lead guy contacted the office and got it sorted out very quickly. They were professional and handled the piano very carefully, both at the place of origin and at the delivery address. I had to move about a thousand books out of a flooded basement still dry on bookcase and put them in boxes for a water removal service the next day. They arrived with a 3 man crew, did it in record time and moved the books upstairs to my hallway and kitchen. I was able to schedule it pretty much the next day, but decided on doing it after the weekend, The service was a lifesaver in that i'm in my early 70's and it would have crushed me doing it myself. I had my closing date but didn't have a new house yet, so needed storage and wasn't sure how long I would need it for. I reached out to a number of companies and while Mass Bay Movers wasn't the cheapest, I think the customer service and the price was the most all encompassing of what the moves would actually look like. I have moved many times and been shown a quote before that after, day of, has tripled in size! Mass Bay worked with me on my uncertain schedule and more importantly the 4 gentleman that showed up to move me and inventory the whole house for storage WORKED! They wrapped and double wrapped things I thought I had already wrapped to ensure everything would make it safely. I was moving from a 2400 square foot house and I think these guy got everything done in about 4 or 5 hours. We are a Pottery Studio that occupied 4100 square feet in an old industrial building and needed to be moved to new space with a very different layout. It was a daunting task. Sal was great to work with setting up the move and helped facilitate getting it all done in one day. Nexon and his crew were amazing! I am writing this because I had a moving situation, I went from a first floor apartment into a third floor apartment and some of my furniture was impossible to bring up. I had a leather sleeper sofa that was not going to make it in through the hall stairs. After a week of waiting for a solution, I thought I was going to have to sell my sofa. Well needless to say they figured out how to dissasemble my sofa and bring it up through the balcony and successfully placing it my living room. These gentlemen are amazing!!
