Wonderful food, super sweet service, old school ambiance. This place knows how to serve up a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend! PS - Now owned by the same people who own the renowned Maple Counter.

This is the perfect breakfast place. It has all the basics plus extra goodie's. Old timer deco. They also offered cake and pie desserts. Service was great

We came from out of town about half an hour before closing and the food was so good. We will definetly be back.

My favorite breakfast place in Walla Walla. Was here on a busy Sunday morning and service was still fast. Little noisy on a Sunday morning but that's to be expected. I'm gluten free and I have never gotten sick from eating here. They do have gluten free bread available, and pancakes. Even gluten free French toast but I normally get my usual omelette and hash browns.

Okay, to be honest, it wasn't four-star food, or four-star anything in particular. But it Clarette's offered an extensive menu, reasonably good food, and lots of it, for reasonable prices. It's in a different class from the eating and drinking spots along Main Street catering to visitors back from their wine tasting excursions through Walla Walla Valley. But it has a lot to offer if you're looking for a good, honest meal. As an incoming freshman at Whitman College, I was a frequent visitor to one of Clarette's former incarnations as Smitty's Pancake House. Same building, although it's been remodeled a few times over the intervening five decades. In some ways, it's a throwback to an earlier style of eatery. Hard to find these days. All in all, I bumped it up to four stars, indicating that it's a good place to eat if you are into such things.

Food 2/5 Atmosphere 2/5 Staff 5/5 Parking/location 5/5 Price 3/5 Overall we were pretty underwhelmed with the food and atmosphere but the staff was friendly and the parking was easy. It is a pretty standard dinner with all of the normal fixings which is both good and bad. We ended up getting a garden omelette with hash browns but both were a bit lacking: the omelette felt like the vegetables were overcooked and it needed some good hot sauce (to which they just had Tabasco) and the hash browns were not crispy. The prices itself were a little bit higher than dinners we were use to and for what we got it wasn't worth the price. That being said, the staff took good care of us and it is in a good location for parking and for a walk to town.

It was pretty busy inside, but after a bit we were able to order. I ordered an iced soy latte with a pump of almond. Also a regular iced latte. I also ordered a few pastries, the Kouign Amann, Almond Croissant, and Goat Cheese and Herb croissant. They unfortunately don't heat up any pastries which I wish they would because I do think it would make the pastries better. The Kouign was my favorite. It was crunchy and delicious and sweet, I would get again. The goat cheese croissant was pretty good but nothing too special. As for the Almond Croissant, I was very disappointed. It had hardly any almond filling, and there was no almond flavor. I wish they would put slivered almonds on it but it was completely lacking. I would skip the almond croissant completely. As for the coffee, I got a regular iced latte and a Soy almond latte. The coffee was not good at all and it makes me sad to say but after a few sips... I had to throw it away! I felt like it threw away $7. It was very watery and the syrup tasted off. This is usually my go-to at other shops but I just couldn't drink this at all. Overall it was cool to try a pastry or two but I wouldn't make another trip here.

Very happy to find a dedicated GF option place to eat. The Americano coffee was good. I had a…read moredouble Eggs Benedict It came with no sides or garnishes. You get two halves of a GF English Muffin. Each half was layered with wilted spinach, a thin slice of sandwich ham (you could see the dark of the spinach through the ham), a tomato slice, the poached egg. Both halves were then covered with hollandaise and a sprinkling of parsley. Flavor-wise it was just okay. Nothing to set it over the top one way or another. It was plated on to cold plates. I watched as my plate was assembled and then sat on the counter while a single Eggs Benedict was assembled and then a Mama's Muffin sandwich was assembled. I told my table mates my Benedict has been sitting there for several minutes and it's going to be cold. Sure enough it was delivered with cold hollandaise and Luke warm egg. I asked to have it popped in the microwave to heat it up because it was cold. I think she gave it 30 seconds and then served it stating any more time might "break" the sauce. So I ate a cold eggs Benedict. I ate all the first one (then remembered to take the picture) and then ate most of the second one. Timing for cooking needs to be addressed to ensure customers receive hot food. Maybe a plate warmer would help or just serve one at a time as the plates come up. Our final party member had to wait as his was served a few minutes after the rest of us. Again, this place has a great concept and if we were just getting coffees and pastry it would have been 5 stars but for the breakfast service, there were too many bumps for more than two.
