Fantastic food and great service. Would go again for sure. Chicken fried steak was on point.

Fun place that we stumbled upon. Great food and the service was excellent provided by some youngsters and professional staff. Great food and fun place to grab a filling meal. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Tommy's is great but the hours are terrible. 7AM-1PM. I'm not going to stand outside waiting for them to open as many do and I can't usually do lunch by 1PM so I don't get to go often as I would like. Looking forward to the new addition with indoor bathrooms. read more

Food good, the plate of food are smaller chicken fried steak Smaller since remodeling

As always our go to restaurant in Walla Walla, Washington for breakfast or lunch they have a very menu of all of our delicious favorite foods Yesterday we enjoyed the clubhouse sandwich loaded with delicious meat and cheeses on lightly toasted bread The plate was also smothered in french fries, My personal favorite are the pork chops this time I had the pork chop lunch with tune, perfectly cooked, lean pork chops from blue Valley meats, across the street along with crispy fried home fried potatoes and a side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, and also toast the pork chops are my favorite because they are tender Loaded with flavor and they are also on the breakfast menu with potatoes, eggs and toast. I think the highlight of the breakfast menu is there chicken fried steak along with the potatoes eggs anyway that you like them my daughter had the eggs over medium, which is a hard one to cook where the yolks are still soft, but not running out they cooked it an excellent job along with the home fried potatoes, and several types of toast or English muffin are offered The gravy covering the chicken fried steak and the thickness of the beef in the steak makes it tender and juicy Stop in and say hi to Greg and all of his staff who are friendly efficient and knowledgeable about their items on the menu and quick to serve! read more

Super friendly place with good food and wonderful service. Our second time having breakfast there and both times were great!

I had friends in town and they wanted breakfast. It was a holiday weekend, and the more well-known places were guaranteed to be packed. I told them I knew a place that was a well-kept secret, and we headed to Tommy's Dutch Lunch. Classic, authentic American Diner food. They loved it. It's not "elegant," it's real. A Walla Walla institution that serves the locals, not the wine-tasting weekend visitors. If you want a chili burger, or biscuits and gravy, or steak and eggs, or some other hearty classic diner meal, go here. read more

Quintessential diner in Walla Walla. Mostly a local's place, but you'll be welcomed. Breakfasts are the star here. Lunch also good. They close early pm On the west edge of town- well worth searching out. Certainly not the "new" Walla Walla - this is as it was and a vanishing breed. We give it our 10 pancake rating- extra points for authenticity. Just go - and be patient- it might take some time to be seated. Super busy at times read more

a small mom and pop restaurant in a neighborhood outside of downtown. we were staying at the comfort inn and happened to drive by a few times so we decided to stop in for a late breakfast- i'm SO glad we did! very friendly staff and a quick turn around so we didn't have to wait for a table. the menu was simple but had everything you could want for breakfast or lunch. my mom chose breakfast- I chose lunch. I ordered the tommy burger with bacon and fries. fresh large patty, hand made, and the crinkle fries are my absolute favorite. generous portions- I was stuffed! my mom got hashbrowns, 2 eggs, hand made sausage patty, and a side of biscuits and gravy (not pictured) she LOVED IT. I don't see her eat that much very often. she ate all of it! when we come back to walla walla I will always make sure to stop here for a meal. I absolutely love these kind of places and look forward to coming back. thanks for the good experience! read more

This diner is delicious. The people that work there are amazing the the food is incredible. It is a diner; it's not fancy, but the food is amazing. I personally suggest the chicken fried steak. It is specifically fantastic because the gravy is so good. Therefore I suspect their biscuits and gravy are also delicious. Heads up, there can sometimes be a bit of a wait depending on what time of the morning you come in. Thanks for the great experience. Few people here are tourists. read more

Same old friendly comfortable place, ,,but ordered breakfast specials for lunch ham was great sausage average but over medium eggs should not be mostly snot and the biscuit part of b&g tasted really old. I understand food cost is through the roof so maybe a pass for the old biscuit but anyone who hires on as a cook should be ashamed of serving eggs that way. read more

Love everything about this AM diner. Can't wait to get back to normal. I usually eat off the special board. Haven't been disappointed.

Best breakfast u can ask for great service always!!! the owner always welcomes you with open arms so does his staff

A greasy spoon breakfast you shouldn't miss. The wait staff is ridiculously nice. Just to demonstrate their accommodating, wonderful service, here's our really rather annoying order and the A+ service we received in return: I ordered a meal but substituted french toast for the normal toast. The waitress actually seemed sad she'd have to charge me a little more for the FT. My sister actually just listed off the things she wanted in her breakfast and asked the waitress if that was possible and our waitress didn't even blink, just charged her for the daily special and made it happen. I also asked for an extra french toast piece after we'd pretty much finished eating (I was starving. Seriously.) and she happily delivered. The check was split for us without difficulty or complaint. The portions are enormous, not to mention prices that can't be beaten. It's almost like they don't want to squeeze every last penny out of you--oh wait, that is what it's like! Come here for a food baby that lasts all day and service with a smile. read more

AMAZING service by every single person there. Tommy greets you and walks around to chat with diners. Servers....no words

Remarkably friendly, attentive service despite it being unusually packed due to the Gentlemen of the Road - Walla Walla Stopover. We had to wait for 30 minutes but that was much more reasonable than the 2 hour wait at Maple Counter. This place is on the smaller side and doesn't look like much from the outside but I like the home-y vibe on the inside. Add to that, the fact that there are regulars/old-timers that the staff greet by name makes for a very comfy, family/small-town orientated place. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were huge! Despite the crowd, it came out in decent time and everything tasted fresh and homemade. I even saw a woman hand peeling potatoes in the back. I had the biggest food coma after breakfast and I'm usually not a big breakfast fan. I'd definitely recommend here if you are looking for a simple, no-frills place with quality food and service. read more

Like many local gems that have stood the test of time, Tommy's Dutch Lunch umassuming exterior should not be viewed as lack of achievement, but profound achievement. Tommy's is very good and the real deal. It is a locals haunt, where the Hi Ed, Hi Tom stuff flies around the dining area as people filter in and out and court is held by a group of power brokers dressed as though they are farmers/blue collar fellows over in a corner of this place but a keen ear will reveal that these guys solve the problems of the universe. Today's topic was putting Mustard in one's beer, it's origins, merits and why this is not a more common practice. I have never heard of this but you can bet I will give it a shot now as this was a serious conversation. The dining area is comprised of four booths, and five tables set in an original but updated 20/30's building. Charming and comfortable like broken in 501's without a single stain or tear, this place is clean and quite nice. The food, which, after all is the reason to come is very good. Served in hearty, substantial portions, I had a Chicken Fried Steak, eggs, home fries, gravy toast coffee $10. Perfect. Happily married wife and Bacon/eggs home fries, toast coffee. We both thought it was well prepared and a good value. The owner dropped by ask how we liked the place and where we were from. Genuine, nice, friendly. Another point here, thos place is far from Downtown W2 in both distance and clientele. I did not see a single Columbia, Under Armour or fluorescent garment here. No quail eggs, no flat bread. No wine list. Just honesty. It's that kind of place. Be clear on that when you come here and Tommy's will not disappoint. Five stars because I can't give it six. Only small negative is the restroom could use a little work, it is in a small detached structure outside as was common in the period. read more

If your searching for a real "locals" place, this is it. Most of the people going in and out seemed to know each other by name. This is like home cooked food. Despite sticking out like a gay, brown, bald sore thumb (in white loafers no less!!!) - I'd have to say that Tommy's was quite the enjoyable experience. Locals (this really wasn't a tourist's destination) from disparate walks of life seemed to come in and out of the itty bitty joint and it's no wonder - most brunch items were penny pinching-friendly and priced under $10. Open since the mid 1930s, Tommy's Dutch Lunch is the epitome of a greasy spoon - no frills here (no hollandaise for you!!), just good, solid, down-home cooking. You'll find omelets, chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, hotcakes and classic fare like your choice of meat, two eggs and your choice of carbs. DO try their bacon - sooooooooo GOOD!!! When prompted for a brunch recommendation, most locals neglected to mention Tommy's, one or two were even unfamiliar with it. My realization is that it's the secret brunch spot that Walla Walla'ns want to continue keeping a secret. read more

I'm not giving 4 stars because the food's the best in town. I'm not giving it because the service is the best (though both rate plenty high). I'm giving 4 stars because Tommy's has achieved greasy spoon perfection. This venerable Sunday morning destination sits at the ramshackle edge of the industrial district right between the highway and a power plant. Tommy's is a testament to what breakfast and lunch diners offer. The obligatory farm workers chatting over coffee, the comfortable, casual cosmetic of the building and it's servers, the seasoned tabletops laden with good sized portions, and the the simple menu (both in terms of options, aesthetic, and flavor) are all there. The prices sit squarely at something from 20 years ago and the recipes have been around at least twice that long. If you like this kind of place then you'll be satisfied. If not, you won't be missed. read more

Oh my. Do I dare share Tommy's with you.... This palace of home-cooked breakfast divinity was revealed to me by a local only after divulging my intention to move to Walla Walla. IE, if you're not a local, please stay away. This is real food, real service. This is the place to have breakfast in WW. It's THE diner food place. Breakfast anytime. Took my leftovers, soaked in ketchup, back to the motel and nuked 'em later in the day for a delightful afternoon snack... mmm, even better the second time around. Wish they had veggie sausage and bacon. :( Eat here. Be polite. Tip well. And please, blend. UPDATE: I've been back many times. Love the coffee!!! read more

Driving from Portland Oregon to Coeur d'Alene Idaho with a detour to Whitman Mission National Historical Park, we needed a diner-ish place to grab a quick bite. Tommy's Dutch Lunch fit the bill on this hot (100 degree) summer day. Not fancy. Plain food. Menu is basically breakfast and burgers. We got burgers. Closes at 2 pm so watch the time. I would've passed it by if it wasn't for a good yelp review. Hubby loved his burger with melted cheese. My patty melt had delicious Walla Walla onions ( I'm guessing, since I was in Walla Walla). Very nice people served and cooked (owners?) Fast service. Exactly what we wanted. read more

Honestly... I was hoping this place would never make it to Yelp. But since it has, I might as well give my 2 cents. Best kept secret (no longer) of Walla Walla. I live here for 20 years before I finally got my husband to take me. Even he wasn't willing to give up this local secret for great home cooked breakfast. Looks a little sketchy from the outside, but inside it is homey and quaint. We usually come with 5-7 people on a Sunday and have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. Service is consistently good, serving sizes are large, bacon is always yummy, coffee keeps coming, AND the prices are reasonable. read more

Old school diner. Great breakfast place in Walla Walla. Bacon, eggs, pancakes, lots of fresh coffee and good service.

Tommy's Dutch lunch has been a long time favorite for us locals. Consitantly good food. Get over the cranky owner. Get over having to walk outside to use the restroom. Do not expect eggs Benedict or broiled tomatoes. DO expect a huge helping of anything you order. I LOVE the hash browns. The eggs are always perfect. I like my eggs scrambled soft. My better half likes his over easy. Bacon is always crispy. You get at least 6 pieces of bacon. Our family likes bisquits and gravy or ham and eggs. Our piggy family also likes pancakes. Never expect any syrup other than cheapo stuff. C'Mon. This is a greasy spoon diner. The coffee is always hot and fresh. The food is good. Because it is good, expect a short wait on week-end mornings 3 stars because it is...a hole in the wall with great food. We have family that visits several times a year. Tommy's is the place we have breakfast before they get on the road. Go, give it a try. This is local food where the locals go. read more

Freaking Awesome!!! This could be a Pennsylvania diner except for the lack of scrapple. This is a "secret" breakfast place, so I'm telling you, but will have to kill you later. Don't tell anyone... Just go and have the best simply prepared, hearty, filling breakfast ever!! Ps... Ladies... Lay off the perfume.. It's a small space.
