A good Irish theme bar/restaurant. Good food, great service, cold beer. I bisit often during lunch hours. Hamburgers are always a great option. The dinner menu is extensive and portions are super generous. There is something for every taste. From pasta dishes to steaks and smoked meats. The front is a bar atmosphere with tv's broadcasting sports. The back room is more of a restaurant atmosphere. May want to consider the back room if you're bringing kids. I was able to visit this place because one of the people in my party is from Oregon and it was their family's. From the outside of the place it looked sort of run down but when you go inside it's a totally different place. They had a family side and a bar side. Plenty of seating at the time we went. We chose to eat outside which was a good idea but then it became real hot. The staff was very attentive we had many different people coming to help throughout the dining experience. I am usually there for lunch and the service has been great. Food is good. Menu changed during/after Covid and isn't as large as it use to be but there is plenty to choose from and always specials. Some specials are pretty good. Very reasonable prices. read more

Waited over an hour for my food. Paid my bill in full for 3 people. Wasn't feeling well and wanted to leave. Went out of my way and left a $10'tip even after not getting my food. Got called a dick by the server. Called for the manager. She did the same. In highly recommend never attending the dive bar. Never had a bad experience at Kelly's. The service is always good as the food. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because even though everything is good it's not quite 5 star quality. Slow not engaged service. Misleading breakfast omelet menu. Long wait to receive service for an order. Then 50 minute wait to receive food. Though breakfast steak was of good quality, the omelet is overpriced. The menu states 1.00$ extra for sausage patty. Thats not the reality. the place a small amount of sausage in the eggs. Definattly not worth the money. Better off ordering eggs as a side then a patty. Either way, its not worth the wait if you want a quality breakfast. I make better eggs at home. And really, I believe we go out to obtain food that restaurants prepare better that at home. This place does to fit that example. Not a place I will return for breakfast. read more

Horrible service if your not a regular. It was our first time there and we just wanted to check it out to see if it could be a possible new hang out spot. The food was decent for the price but the service was not. Most expensive IPA per pint in the area. I was charged for tots when I did not upgrade to them. The servers gossiped at the register about us not knowing the price of an IPA and walked away swearing when I brought up the tot charge on my bill. Definitely will not be back. I hope the owners don't condone that kind of negative image for their bar. This is the worst I have ever been treated at an establishment. read more

My husband and I stopped here on a Sunday and they were swamped. Staff was amazing at getting us drinks and let us know the kitchen was backed up. We were fine with waiting and ended up with a great breakfast! The staff made us laugh on multiple occasions and kept positive with a bar and restaurant full. Despite its proximity to Walla Walla, drinking in Milton-Freewater is not for the sophisticated set. There are no chic wine bars, no swanky lounges where you can flirt with cute guys over happy hour martinis. Bars in this town are for getting drunk, smoking indoors while playing the lottery, doing bad country music/hair band karaoke, and getting drunker. Kelly's delivers on all counts. Despite its name and the shamrock on the sign, Kelly's is no Irish bar. It is a small town, blue collar bar that serves strong drinks, crappy domestic beer, decent appetizers, and plenty of local flavor. I always have interesting stories from my visits to Kelly's, for better or worse. My most recent visit was for my high school reunion earlier this month; Kelly's let us use the back patio and served appetizers. The food was okay (although they put green food coloring in their ranch dressing b/c it's an Irish bar...) Our bartender was doing her best, though I was perturbed by the fact that she wouldn't start tabs for anyone in our group, forcing us to use the ATM inside and incur $4 in bank fees. But it was still fun, and a great place to meet up with old friends. read more

I've gone to Kelly's periodically over the last 7 years of living in this area. I've never had a great experience with this place. I want to start off with saying that I cannot drink whiskey without a mixer or chaser. I ordered a shot of Black Velvet and was able to drink it with no aids. This tells me that the whiskey is watered down. My companion also order a different type of alcohol in a shot and had the same complaint. Not a good business practice! Another time I went on a Karaoke evening and someone had vomited on the women's bathroom floor. I notified the bartender but she never did anything about it. Gross! The food is "OK" but not outstanding for the outrageous prices they charge. I've had several things on the menu and have never been impressed. One thing about Kelly's is that they do have two enclosed outdoor smoking areas which is nice. In the summer you can sit on the back patio with your beer and a smoke and enjoy the heat. All things aside, the thing that bugs me the most about this place is the employees. Every time I've been here I feel like I'm being talked down to. The owner and manager seem to think that they own an up-scale restaurant in Milton-Freewater but sadly it's only a low end bar with "OK" food. I would not recommend this place unless you want to be ripped off on drinks and food. read more

For my leading expectations, it was a let down. First noticed all the chairs inside the bar are high stools. Then quoted $6 for a pint of Guinness then told it was actually another higher price then the ticket was a third price in between the first 2 prices. I've only been here a couple of times, but it's been a great experience every time. If you're looking for an upper class bar with fancy food, this is NOT the place. The place is very divey but they have quality food. I've tried almost every bar and restaurant in the area and I can honestly say that they have the best burgers are by far. The service is very friendly and they have plenty of space to hang out with friends. The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars is they're lack of variety in beers. Ok it's a dive bar so my expectations were set low to begin with. Ordered prime rib but then the waitress came back and said they were out of prime rib. So I ordered chicken Parmesan. It came and was lukewarm not even close to hot. Husband ordered the fish and chips that weren't hot and were greasy. The fries were good. Ranch dressing tasted homemade and was good. Never actually got to taste the food, the rating is based on service. We're new to Milton Freewater. We went one afternoon with our baby for a late lunch, when we walked in no one approached us, we just stood there confused. Finally someone from the kitchen came out and said seat yourself. We sat ourselves outside on the patio area. There were two people out there smoking cigarettes (where the food is served and eaten). So we sat at the opposite side of them which put us at a dirty table. No one came out to clean it or greet us. We waited about 10-15 minutes and finally just opted to leave. We felt so uncomfortable. We weren't sure if anyone was ever going to help us and based on that customer service/cleanliness we became skeptic of the food! read more

We went to Kelly's for lunch (roughly 2:30 or 3pm) after the funeral service for my boyfriend's mother. We had reserved a table for 20, but ended up having roughly 12. We were in a back room, and the restaurant wasn't especially busy, so this shouldn't have been an issue. Myself and my boyfriend's sister (22 years of age at her mother's death) both have some food allergies--hers more severe than mine. When we asked for dinner menus we were blatantly told "no." As a former service industry worker, I understand if the dinner menu requires prep that wasn't finished for the day yet, but our server was short and rude about the request. In fact, she was short and rude about almost everything. The food was good, but I almost lost my mind watching our server snap at four children and who had just lost their mother. Further, I know that the restaurant was made aware of the situation, as my boyfriend's sister and I took a shot at the bar and they gave their condolences. I highly suggest that Kelly's take a look at their serving staff and reevaluate. read more

I"ve had dinner there and its been very good you can find a good deal if you go on certain days but I feel most things are way overpriced the drinks are more expensive than anywhere else in town. The other day I thought i'd try breakfast there the food was cold and so not worth what I paid for it and the portions were small. I won't go again at least for breakfast. I wouldn't recommend going there early in the day waitstaff is rude you will be lucky to get waited on and you will be ignored. If your looking to get a drink in the evening past 9 pm most days during the week don't count on it they close early. read more

Been to Kelly's about 15 times between 2007-2014 and I'm NOT real picky when I want to grab a drink or a bite. The atmosphere blows, limited seating either a few bar stools @ the bar, a stool at one of the 3 long center tables, crammed against the wall in the 2 2-seater tables or at the video poker. No private spot if you want to have a drink & shoot the shit with a friend or date. Multiple tv's with nothing entertaining, HORRIBLE karaoke w/equally horrible blaring speakers.
