Super yummy spot in downtown Walla Walla! This a great place to brunch before wine tasting because you will not leave hungry! We came here on a Sunday, and they do not do reservations so be prepared to wait some if you have a big party. However, for just 2 of us, we waited about 15minutes. This place is your classic cozy brunch spot. Lots of decor on the wall very much feels like a homey spot. Out wait staff was friendly and accommodating. They even helped us move to a larger table when they realized we ordered more food than would fit comfortably on the first table we were sat at. And on that note, the food portions are HUGE. We both ordered an entree of the Homestead benedict but then ordered the famous apple pancake to split. We definitely would have been fine splitting both dishes as the portions are super generous and we ended up having to box some for later. The apple pancake is massive, sweet and very tasty! It's closer to a cake than a pancake, just in thickness, but if you have a group of folks with a sweet tooth, I highly recommend getting this! Went on a Sunday morning for Mother's Day so it was pretty busy as most places were not open on Sunday. I joined the waitlist on google and we actually were seated quicker than was listed which was nice. I got the Viennese late with oat milk and it was delicious and not too sweet. I really loved the whipped cream on top! I also got the Northwestern eggs Benedict. It comes with a side of pancakes or potatoes and I decided to try the buttermilk pancakes. They were delicious and fluffy. The Benedict was good but it was a little bland, had to add extra salt and pepper. My favorite was the corned beef Hash. It had delicious crispy potatoes, and pieces of hash that was flavorful. We got scrambled eggs on top but an over easy egg would be delicious as well. Overall this place was delicious, I would definitely try other items when visiting next time. It's worth a visit. read more

This place is highly rated for breakfast and brunch, and I could see why it was packed when we arrived. Even so, our group of six was seated within 5-10 minutes. I ordered the veggie melt with fries, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The bread was so good that I'm still craving it. However, the fries weren't great and were overly salty; I wish I had opted for a salad instead. Service was a bit slow the food came out late, and we also had to wait a while to get the check. This place is busy !! You can check in online and get on the waiting list. They don't take reservations but wait time really isn't that long. We waited 15min. Space is big, they have outdoor seating in the front but also have a back area as well. Paulo was our server and she was amazing! So friendly and she listened. We ordered the eggs Benedict to split so asked for an extra plate and when she brought our food our meals were already split up. We were so impressed with her. This is the best breakfast spot in town--whether you're going with friends, family, or a significant other. Service is always quick and friendly, and the food is always delicious. The prices are fair for the portion sizes you get. The only downside is that the spacing between tables (if you're not sitting at a booth) can sometimes feel. a bit cramped, but it has never been a major issue with my friends. I highly recommend joining their waitlist prior to getting there. You easily do this online and it minimizes the time you're standing around when you get there. I also highly recommend their Lavender Mocha. YUM! If you would like another breakfast option to consider, the next best option is probably Bacon & Eggs, which, at the time of writing this review, is in the process of moving to a new location about 3 blocks from Maple Counter on Main Street. But otherwise, this is the most classic place that most here in town would recommend. This place was amazing. The staff was all very friendly and attentive. We got an iced cold brew coffee whiskey breakfast cocktail and their spiced apple whiskey breakfast cocktail. Both were amazing. Our favorite part was the house made espresso whipped cream. For breakfast, we ordered the apple pancake and a side of two eggs plus link sausage. The dishes there are all huge, so come hungry! The apple pancake was really good; quite unique. It was kind of like a combo of a pull apart monkey break, apple pie, and a thick pancake. It was pretty sweet, but very very good. Inviting and Satisfying! What a great place to have breakfast in Walla Walla. We walked in about 8:30am on a Saturday morning and were quickly greeted and seated. The place was already hopping with business, but we got lucky as they had a couple of empty tables still. They had some seasonal specials... like the Pumpkin pancakes. They also serve up adult breakfast bevvies in the morning. (You can't Drink All Day if you don't start in the morning. hahahaha!) The husband tried their Kentucky Coffee which had bourbon in it and was loaded on top with coffee flavored whip cream. It was a tad strong so he had them refill his cup with plain coffee once he had taken a few sips. So beware or maybe share it within someone. The pumpkin pancakes were fantastic! I go the short stack ... thinking it would be 3 ... no... it was 4. I didn't finish that 4th one. You could tell they were pumpkin but they were not overly pumpkin-y nor spicy cinnamon-y. It was the perfect flavor balance. They were not super sweet either which I appreciated. I didn't put much butter or syrup on them and just enjoyed them with the sprinkle of powdered sugar. Went great with my cup of Black Coffee. :) My mom had the Salmon Benny. Tasty and they gave her lots of country potatoes on the side. Husband had the Corned Beef Hash with 2 sunny side eggs. I had a bite of his corned beef and it was very flavorful and tender. So, if you like a hearty breakfast, this is a good one to get. Forgot 2 take a pic of food but did take 1 of the apple pancake all of us got a big piece and it was the Bomb. Highly recommend it's a must if in town but on Saturday gotta get there early it gets crowded. Oh my goodness, this place is delicious. We are staying in town, so we walked here on Thursday morning in June 2025. The place was hopping inside, so we asked to sit on their patio and enjoy the lovely weather. The nice guy who sat us brought us a pitcher of water so we'd stay hydrated. A few minutes later, the friendly server came out to ask if we had any questions and to take our order. We decided to go big this morning for breakfast, so we ordered the Eggy Casey, an open-faced toasted croissant with Tillamook cheddar cheese, eggs, and a mushroom gravy on top. On the side, you can have pancakes, potatoes, or fruit. We had pancakes with this meal. We also got the Northwestern Benedict, which includes smoked salmon as the protein. I always get the hollidase sauce on the side because I don't eat it. We chose fruit as our side for this dish. Both meals were fantastic. The buttermilk pancakes were light and fluffy and soaked up homemade maple syrup. The side of pancakes has three, so two people could easily get one meal and be full. Wow! Everything we had was soooo amazing! We drove to Walla Walla from Tri-Cities to have brunch at the Maple Counter and it was so worth it! Was told by a couple wineries and friends to try this place. Drove 1.5 hours for a breakfast we were really excited to try! It was a busy Sunday but they were able to seat us at the heated patio. Staff is super nice! Our waitress was great very nice and attentive. It all went wrong once our food arrived! My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were dry and not great which is crazy because gravy is over the top and still dry. I ordered the Eggs Nicole, I told this is amazing, but it was awful. Taste wasn't that great, couldn't even cut thru croissant it was so hard, I opened the top of the omelette to uncover lots of foam ( it was the weirdest thing I have never seen before, like why is this foamy inside?!) Eggs Nicole was watery and foamy inside. I didn't eat anymore after I saw that. The pancakes have a plain salty taste, I had to soak them in syrup to make them taste ok. We were so disappointed. Holy massive portions, Batman. We had brunch here as a big group with kids and they took good care of us. They very shrewdly sell coloring books out where you wait for a table. Nobody was able to eat even half of their order. The apple pancakes were especially gargantuan and decadent. My son and I couldn't get through two eggs and an order of pigs in a blanket because the pancakes were so huge and fluffy. The hollandaise sauce on my wife's benedict was delicious. Walked in and added our name to the list and were told to wait would be 20 to 25 minutes we decided to walk around the area and wait until we got the text. 40 minutes later we received a text to let us know our table was ready we showed back up and they sat immediately. The Maple Counter Cafe is located downtown in one of the old brick buildings and the inside of this cafe lends itself to the same antique-like style. The walls are very unique with each section depicting a different animal/mammal featuring pictures and photos. We were there in late morning on a Tuesday so we were seated right away. There were many customers even at that time so I'm not surprised that some reviews mention wait time. The menu offers many unique items, which is why we chose this place. I had the German pancake which was gigantic and very good. My 2 friends who accompanied me said their French toast, and pancakes, eggs and sausage were also yummy and had unique flavors. For us older gals the seating wasn't comfortable because all the chairs are wood. There are few booths. It took much too long for a waitress to attend to us, and no other staff even offered coffee even though there were many support staff there cleaning and resetting tables. We think they were short staffed with waitresses because we didn't even see a waitress and then noticed she was on the other side of the two-sided setup. Once she finally took our order it was obvious she was running her tail off so the problem wasn't her. She was doing the best she could. Once she took our order she was subsequently very attentive. We would definitely return at a time when they aren't busy. A recommendation I have for the owners is that the support staff take care of taking drink orders when seated, then delivering and refilling. A typical, popular American brunch spot in Walla Walla, known for gigantic portions. As the weekend is very hot, there was no wait when we walked in on Sunday 9am. I hear people mentioning an online waitlist in Google, and there is a link, but when I checked in a hypothetical scenario, they don't do online waitlists that day. We shared the apple pancake and Frontier skillet. The apple pancake was $20 which sounds like a high price but the portions are gigantic - enough for 4 people. I wished that these places can do smaller portions for a fraction of the cost, as it is hard to get variety otherwise. The pancake was on the sweeter side yet it is very fruitful and delicious. I wished my body can take in more sweets but I tapped out after eating a quarter. The Frontier skillet is our savory dish. Again, high price and large portions, but they add a bit too much potato and less of eggs and ham. Every bite I felt like I was eating potato, so having a better distribution of ingredients would have been better. Service is good - food was delivered fairly quickly and water refills were present. Overall, this place is a solid choice for brunch, but do anticipate large portions and that it could get busy even in the earlier hours of the day. read more
