The gluten free baked goods here are delicious! Everything I've tried from sweet breads like zucchini bread, to the veggie quiche has been incredible. MON-FRI 10-3pm closed SAT/SUN, check hours in case they've changed since this review. HIDDEN VALLEY Bakery is HIDING inside the Walla Walla airport terminal, next to...everything lol. The parking (which is FREE btw), baggage claim, the bathrooms are all in one little area. Just go inside the terminal, you don't need a ticket to get inside, and since there are only 2 flights a day (I think), chances are there won't be anyone around either. This place is a small airport coffee shop so you can dine in if you wish, we didn't though. We were on the way to a wine tasting and I told my family we HAD to stop and buy some GF stuff. FOOD: GLUTEN FREE bagel dogs, quiche, tarts, banana bread, and more. They also serve coffee, food and regular gluten-full pastries too, so everyone can find something they like here. As a gluten free eater, I have a hard time finding GOOD tasting GF breads/pastries etc and usually just skip them and stick to bacon and eggs etc for breakfast. The GLUTEN FREE BAGEL DOG was so good, I tried the beef one first, which was spectactular, and after I finished it, thank goodness I was still there, I ordered the GF sausage bagel dog, which was also amazing. I wish I could have packed a dozen of these in dry ice and taken it back with me. The hot dogs/sausages were really good and the bagel part was so good I couldn't tell it was GF. If I ever find myself back in Walla Walla, I will order ahead and make sure there are a dozen for me to take back. Thank you go Gilda who helped us buy one of everything in the case, she explained how they have a dedicated microwave to reheat your bagel dog if you want it heated, dedicated baking areas for the GF stuff. Imagine sitting on the aircraft ready for your trip to SeaTac and wondering what eatery you'll hit during your 2 hour layover. Then, the Captain makes an announcement that we'll need to deplane due to a mechanical issue and a Mechanic was an hour away and requires inspection. Hidden Valley has just closed its kitchen and only 1 person was working. Next thing, she's reopening the kitchen, taking orders and accommodating several passengers and crew members. I had a bagel dog and it was delish. I give them 5 stars for their hospitality, food, service and the server's positive disposition. read more

They have delicious gluten free pastries. The Apple fritters are to die for! Best gluten free donuts I've had in a very long time. The pie crust the flaky and crispy. Friendly owner who is very helpful with gluten free. That have dedicated gluten baking area with gluten free only utensils, pans, and so on. Even a gluten free microwave. Got the garlic French bread last time I was in town and the bread was really good. It was light and fluffy bread which is so hard to do with gluten free. Always make a stop here when I'm in town visiting. If your gluten free you definitely need to make a stop here for some really good baked good! read more

Whenever we visit our kids at the university, we stop here. Happy that the airport has something to grab and go if your in a hurry too. Great little place in the small airport. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We ended up getting 2 small pastries, a berry and apple min pie. They were both delicious and when we return, we will be back. Hidden indeed! Not enough people know about Hidden Valley. They are located at the Walla Walla Airport, and are only open Monday-Friday, for breakfast and lunch. They bake their own breads, and the sourdough is a good one. I lived in San Francisco for 25 years, and I know my sourdough. Hidden Valley knows their bread! Their sandwiches and paninis are fresh and come in creative combinations, which are all delicious. They also have coffee drinks, and call that part of the business Treasure Valley. The coffee is good quality. Hidden Valley has counter seating, tables and booths. However, their space is small. I like to go there for lunch, and I make sure to get there a little early, like right at 12. Around 12:15 people start showing up to get lunch and check in for the 1:30 flight to Seattle. So get there early and get your booth. The owners are hardworking, good people, and they are doing an amazing job with this little spot. My only complaint, thus only 4 stars, is that they are not open in the evening or on weekends. Though this is understandable, because this is family-run, and no one can work 7 days a week, dawn to dusk. I eat there even when I'm not flying in or out. We like to drive out there just to have a delicious lunch. And they passed the Lone Woman Diner test with flying colors. It is common in the restaurant industry to scorn a woman dining alone, and I will be doing reviews specifically regarding that question and local restaurants. For now I will just say that I have been to Hidden Valley alone, with my husband, and with family. We receive gold star treatment every single time. If you have time to drive over to the airport, Hidden Valley is an expected treat. read more

This is one of the best cakes I've ever had. We needed a lemon cake with raspberry filling for my wife's birthday and they came through in a big way. Very fresh and delicious. When staying overnight recently to do wine tasting in Walla Walla, we tried this bakery for a quick breakfast scone. They also had a decent variety of other offerings, The scones were good, but possibly made the day before, as they were not warm, possibly they just needed to be heated. Right across the street and down a block is Walla Walla Roastery, where we ordered a nice Latte to go with our scones, and we parked near the airfield to watch airplanes as we enjoyed our little breakfast to go! read more

Love this bakery. The bagel dog is, of course, legendary. The gluten-free pecan pie is incredible, so incredible you don't even notice it's gluten-free. Their new location is in the airport, and they have lots of seating and have an expanded menu. Great place for an egg sandwich. Oh! The food looked good, but I didn't get a chance to find out because the service I received (or more accurately, didn't receive) from the owner of Hidden Valley Bakery, was absolutely awful. Headed out on a flight and stopped in to Hidden Valley. Put my jacket and shoulder bag on a table and went to the counter to order a sandwich. The owner had her back to me, so she didn't greet me or acknowledge my presence. I waited patiently, but after another employee came out of the back and talked to the owner (but neither of them acknowledged me), I said to the owner, "Excuse me, I'd like to place an order". She replied without turning to face me, "We'll be with you in a few minutes" I said "I've already been waiting here for 6 minutes." She snapped back at me (again without turning to face me). "Three!" I walked out, never to return to this horrible place. It wasn't like they were busy. There was one other customer in the entire place!! Lessons this business could learn (if they cared): 1. Acknowledge customers when they walk in, even if you aren't able to immediately help them (friendliness goes a long way!) 2. Don't argue with customers. If the customer says they've been waiting and have been ignored for X number of minutes, don't argue. Just apologize and do your best to serve them as soon as you are able and try and turn that customer's frustrating experience into a positive one. 3. If you're the owner of a business and you have no customer service ethic and don't like dealing with customers, hire someone who will enjoy engaging with your customers. Hidden Valley's food may very well be great, but I will never find out as I will not be returning. And based on my experience, I don't expect that the will remain in business very long. read more

Best gluten-free pastries in town. Be sure to try the fresh apple fritters!! It's definitely more pricey than a regular donut, but when I can't eat regular food, I don't mind paying for something so yummy! What a sweet surprise it was to walk into the Walla Walla airport and be greeted with the scent of delicious bakery goods! And the lovely aroma was just the beginning! I was on my way to a yoga retreat and had some time before heading from the airport to that destination. I sat down to enjoy a gluten free bacon quiche, a yummy cup of coffee and a couple of gluten free cookies. Delicious! And on my return trip to Seattle I made sure to allow time for a piece of gluten free strawberry rhubarb pie and a cup of Joe! Yummy! Okay....and I also bought a beautiful handmade angora snood. Hidden Valley Bakery sure gets around -- I found it by word-of-mouth on Facebook, and exchanged brief texts with Gilda (one of the owners). My friend and I drove over to Walla Walla from the Tri-Cities today, and after much confusion (on our part), we found the bakery (which is actually "hidden" in the Walla Walla "valley" -- inside the airport building). I was really excited finding a gluten-free bakery less than an hour's drive from where I live. No more driving 3-1/2 hours to Portland to buy gluten-free items; Hidden Valley Bakery is my new go-to place! Wonderful bagel dogs, apple fritters (and other doughnuts), mini-quiches, cinnamon rolls, pies -- that you can get either gluten-free or regular. The owners are really nice, friendly, and informative about their products. I would recommend everybody go and give 'em a try! (Right now I am munching on the cinnamon roll I brought home with me ... it is DIVINE.)
