This is a cute candy/dessert shop in downtown Walla Walla. It was HOT outside and we decided to drop in as they have a wide selection of ice cream. Upon walking in, there is a variety of candies to choose from. They also had caramel apples and lots of chocolates to choose from. Ice cream was located at the back of the store. There were plenty of flavors to choose from and I opted for my tried and true Cookie Dough on a waffle cone. It was excellent as it was 90+ degrees outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the ice cream and the quaint downtown area. The people working the store were very friendly. I went on a weekend to see what they had, and I was pleasantly surprised! They had popcorn, drinks, candy, all sorts of cool things. I went to the back of the store and they had Jellycats! It's almost impossible to find jellycats so I was so excited! I ended up getting the stuffed flower bear. So cool they have a JellyCat section. I also got a few chocolates, like the Dubai chocolate and toffee. They were delicious! One thing that was odd to me is that they don't have expirations date. I wanted to get a few boxes of chocolate for Valentine's Day but I asked when they expire and they told me they don't expire for a while. I said if they knew when and they said no. It makes me nervous because the boxes were pre packaged and I mean.. everything has an expiration date so it made me feel weird to get so I ended up not getting the boxed chocolates. Wish they would say on the package when they made the box of chocolates and the best by date. read more

I saw when visiting that this won in USA today as best candy shop... HOW? I may have went at a bad time?? The place has a popcorn area when you walk in, so I got a popcorn ball. I browsed the candy, not a big assortment, more of commercial candy which wasn't thrilling. I went straight to the back for the ice cream...not even made in house..it was Tillamook which I can buy at Albertsons. (Colville patisserie down the block still wins for best ice cream ever). I then went to the chocolates, because that's the main go too. A young man helped me and was nice but had little knowledge when I asked about some flavors. A young lady behind the counter was chatting with him about other things. I finally ordered some chocolates (a lavender) a peanut butter & jelly, and espresso, They were small but delicious. Oh my sweet confections! From outside the store front looks small. But whoa! Open the door and fall into another time era. Service was attentive and personable. Offered was everything from newer creations such as Earl Grey or Lavender Truffles to more traditional flavors such as Carmel Corn and Apples, Fresh Warm Nuts, Hand Scooped Ice Cream including Black Licorice, to bottled Butter and Ginger beer. The building is divided by consumer and product filled areas and a glassed off candy making kitchen. It is a sight to see. Flowing chocolate for completing candies and many other wonders. We came here both nights we stayed in Walla Walla for two reasons- the ice cream was good, and the town is small with limited options. The ice cream we tried was great and they made me a delicious milkshake the second visit. Besides ice cream, you can find just about every other sweet treat from caramel apples to fudge to truffles. I called to check if they had a certain candy (chocolate covered gummy worms) and while they did not carry it-they offered chocolate covered gummy bears. I spoke to two people-a young man and a young woman-both kind & happy. The young woman took my order-packaged it beautifully and sent it with the note and addressee perfectly done. This place gets a big old meh from me. First of all, it was extremely understaffed the day I went, a Saturday in the summertime. Those two high schoolers need help behind that counter! They had a huge selection of chocolate bars from around the US and the world, as well as what they make in their shop. I bought a sea salt chocolate bar from Madagascar as well as their specialty fudge in a sampler pack. All I have to say about the fudge is...gross. I feel like I could get better, cheaper fudge from a gas station than I got here. It was six pieces of dry, all too sugary, not rich enough chocolate, essentially. I didn't finish it... It was not worth it. I liked the store for what it was, though. The imported chocolates and the little toys were cute. Just a total bust as far as the service and homemade stuff goes. read more

I love small candy shops and Bright's is no exception. They have a wide variety of offerings, most of which I've tried at least once. My favorites are the english toffees and the fudge (the turtle and the vanilla walnut fudge are to die for). Their chocolates are good, but don't expect to be blown away. However, if you want your chocolates fresh and locally made, these are good. The caramel corn is good, and they have a great selection of jelly bellies and other prepackaged candies as well. They also have chocolates in seasonal shapes that make great gifts for kids. The service is mostly young teens or twenty-somethings who don't seem to know very much about the business, which is unfortunate, but they are usually nice. Some of the candies and sugar-free options are apparently not made locally, and the ice cream is some brand like Dreyer's or Blue Bunny. Overall, though, it's a great small-town candy shop, and now that Inland Octopus (the toy store) is right next door, it's a one-two punch you won't want to miss! read more

Bright's is far and above the best candy stop, complete with their very own happy "candy man" Paul. The flavors are wonderful and work so well together. There is something for everyone. It's impossible to say anything negative about the candies, chocolate, popcorn or beloved candy apples. Everything in here is made with love. The owners, Paul and Tiffany, do a fabulous job not only creating a succulent chocolate experience, but the decor and merchandise offered completes the experience.
