I'm not sure why, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for smalltown butchers, especially artisan style butchers that carry slightly more specialized meats. We stumbled upon this place while walking to another spot, and instantly had a place that we were excited about going every time we come into town! It was open by a gentleman who felt like the area could use a specialty butcher that carried a little bit nicer cuts of meat, slightly larger variety and had a cool vibe. He accomplished all three! They carry all the standard beef, chicken and pork, but also do some more specialty meats like rabbit and specialty sausages. We also loved the fact that they carry some good cheeses, including a really nice aged Gouda! My best half loves her some aged Gouda, so anytime we find something good we make note of it. The Decour here is slightly eclectic, but still familiar. They've also got some really cool custom doors that lead back into The back and windows that allow you to see where all the action is taking place. Never anything gruesome, but it's nice to see where the meat is actually being cut and prepared. In addition to the delicious non-vegetarian options, they carry some different varieties of crackers, some legit Marcona almonds and straight from the farm eggs. Prices were very fair, and the service was impeccable. This is a place that I hope starts to make T-shirts as I will definitely be excited to support all that they're doing. Stopped in to pick up some cheese to accompany a roadside snack. So that is all I can rate for this visit. We look forward to shopping here again during our next visit to Walla Walla, as we expect their other products will meet the high bar set by the cheese we found. SERVICE: 4.5. Fast and friendly. We ordered several sausages - hot Italian and beer brats... So, the look - good... each link is about 1/3 of a lb... So, looks good there. Then, things went down hill after you took them home and started cooking... So, we cooked the first batch with slow heat... and then turned the grill up to high to crispend the skin... and another batch, high heat and then low to finish.... NEITHER technique worked... The sausages were supe dried and to the point of inedible... Price point - about $10 for a lb.. so, OK if the sausage is really good... NOT THIS ONE :( read more

Butcher Butcher hasn't been open very long, but we have already made several purchases there, and the meat is fresh and properly trimmed. They make several of their own sausages, including a breakfast sausage, and the ones we've tried are delicious. Their Sweet Onion Sausage is particularly good. They are not the only butcher in town, as there is at least one other, Blue Mountain that is also very good. I would say it just depends on where you live, work, or where you are located. If you are in downtown Walla Walla, or close, then Butcher Butcher is your best bet. Great location and very good product at good prices. Butcher Butcher is also selling local farm-fresh eggs, and some local cheese. The day we were there, they also had some local produce: onions and three kinds of potatoes. I absolutely love Butcher Butcher. Their prices are super fair, the quality is superb, and the selection is always seasonal and dependable. Not many places you can get dry-cured speciality bacon or high-quality organ meat that you can trace the origin of. If I could rate it six stars I would, absolutely great. read more

We discovered this unique shop yesterday in Walla Walla. Erick is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and spent a lot of time answering our questions about his meats. We were thrilled to find a source for a whole pork rind to make homemade cracklins! Will definitely be coming back for more in the future. read more

My boyfriends family stopped raising cows as they sold the family farm this past spring. As our stockpile was starting to run low we were faced with what are we going to do! When we moved to Walla Walla in June luckily we found butcher butcher. The quality of meat and the flavor from the cures is out of control. The ribeyes are literally the best steak I have ever had. Another favorite cut we have discovered is the hanger steak. Recently we salt and peppered it over-night and let me tell you, this was the BEST thing we have ever done. It brought out a sweetness in the meat we were not expecting. The bacon is another item that you cannot go wrong with. The bacon is also the best I have had yet. Another must have is trying the different charcuterie meats and cheeses they have. My boyfriend and I got a few to try over the summer and the blue cheese we had was amazing, and if you don't like blue cheese I promise this will convert you. Incredible, quality cuts with incredible, quality service! I can't stress how awesome this place is!
