Dayton Cut and Wrap

Dayton Cut and Wrap

I don't raise livestock or have other need for a butcher, so head elsewhere if you are looking for…read morethat kind of info. What I can tell you about Dayton Cut & Wrap is that they make the BEST jerky and pepperoni I have ever eaten. I'm not sure of the hours or what other services they offer. I have no idea what the price of the jerky is, but the pepperoni is about $8 a pack, however much is in the pack remains unknown. The place smells incredible - like a giant bacon sandwich with a side of filet mignon. The pepperoni has a medium-mild spice to it and a texture that is foreign to anyone who has taken Randy Savage's steroid-enhanced offer to "snap into a slim jim." There is no mysterious cardboard-like filler or stringy casing residue on your palate - just real meat and spice goodness, with a surprisingly rich flavor. You will not be able to eat just one. The jerky is similarly impressive. If you are like me, I search the entire stock of Costco to find the jerky with the moisture intact - maybe even a little juicy or shiny underneath the thick plastic wrapper. It usually takes 10 minutes or so to find two of the perfect packages. The great irony is that my family usually leaves the bags open, rendering them just like the other bags left behind. Dayton Cut and Wrap's jerky is nearly gristle-free, has a full smoky or teriyaki flavor without being overly salty or bitter. Each piece actually looks like it came from a piece of steak. The texture is soft, with a little bit of chewiness. Anyway, if you need a butcher, I don't know if these guys are good or not. If you need ski snacks, these guys are the hook up. Look for a sign in the window signaling what they have to offer before stopping.

Just stopped here for the first time today…read more I always see the sign in the window for Pepperoni and hell who doesn't love Pepperoni and fresh is even better, well they are smoking the Pepperoni as I type this up 100 lbs of it so I will get some next week so I wasn't going to waste a trip I got me a pound of there smoked Beef Jerky its $18 a pound, and worth every damn cent this stuff was so full of flavor and the smoke was just right I can't wait till Monday when I go back threw town so I can get there smoked Pepperoni they also do German Sausage every 6 months and they have a new customer...........ME

I'm not sure why, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for smalltown butchers, especially artisan…read morestyle butchers that carry slightly more specialized meats. We stumbled upon this place while walking to another spot, and instantly had a place that we were excited about going every time we come into town! It was open by a gentleman who felt like the area could use a specialty butcher that carried a little bit nicer cuts of meat, slightly larger variety and had a cool vibe. He accomplished all three! They carry all the standard beef, chicken and pork, but also do some more specialty meats like rabbit and specialty sausages. We also loved the fact that they carry some good cheeses, including a really nice aged Gouda! My best half loves her some aged Gouda, so anytime we find something good we make note of it. The Decour here is slightly eclectic, but still familiar. They've also got some really cool custom doors that lead back into The back and windows that allow you to see where all the action is taking place. Never anything gruesome, but it's nice to see where the meat is actually being cut and prepared. In addition to the delicious non-vegetarian options, they carry some different varieties of crackers, some legit Marcona almonds and straight from the farm eggs. Prices were very fair, and the service was impeccable. This is a place that I hope starts to make T-shirts as I will definitely be excited to support all that they're doing. If you're in the area, you should definitely check this place out!

Stopped in to pick up some cheese to accompany a roadside snack. So that is all I can rate for this…read morevisit. We look forward to shopping here again during our next visit to Walla Walla, as we expect their other products will meet the high bar set by the cheese we found. SERVICE: 4.5. Fast and friendly. CHEESE: 5.0. Camembert - excellent buttery gold interior with firmish, ridged white exterior.

Hill Meat Company…read more Hill's is a family owned and operated company that has been making pork products in Pendleton, Oregon, since 1947. Normally, Albertson's carries Hills Original Pork Sausage Links and their packaged Double Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon, as does Fred Meyer's. On 1/31/22, I was at the Albertson's located in the Hillcrest Shopping Center in Boise. I noticed they suddenly had a lot more Hill's products. I bought the Bacon & Hatch Chile Pork Sausage Links and some of the Fresh Peppered Bacon. Both were excellent! Prior to discovering Hill's sausage, I bought sausage links to cook at home maybe once or twice. Occasionally, I would order them for breakfast if dining out, but I had no interest in buying a package of it. It was fatty and delicious, but it just didn't seem that special. That wasn't till about three years ago when I unknowingly visited an Adam Hegsted restaurant in North Idaho. The place I stayed at gave guests the option of a free continental breakfast or a coupon good for $5 off of a breakfast at the restaurant next door. I opted to eat at the restaurant. Even though I ordered a simple breakfast of two eggs over easy, sausage and toast, I could tell from the presentation alone that this was going to be something special. First of all, these were the most perfectly cooked over easy eggs I've ever seen in my life, and I've cooked a few myself. The toast homemade sourdough, served with homemade Huckleberry jam. The sausage looked like regular sausage, but then I bit into one. Whoa! It was the best sausage I've ever eaten in my life. When my server came back I asked what brand of sausage they were using. The cook came out from back in the kitchen to chat with me. He shared with me that they used Hills Meats, and the name of the owner. I later did a little research and learned the owner was a James Beard nominated chef. Even though he wasn't present, he clearly set a high standard that was being well-maintained. Upon returning home, I immediately started to search out Hill's sausage. I was so excited the first time I found it and brought it home to cook. Then I tried the bacon and loved it just as much. If you haven't tried Hills, you're in for a special treat. The fact that a James Beard nominated chef makes a point to serve it in his restaurants speaks volumes. Highly Recommended!

My husband raved about this hidden gem and took me and our youngest child for lunch. We enjoy…read moreeating local foods, especially when it's a local business we can support and know it's done with joy and pride. Pros * Welcoming feel when you walk through the door. * Family friendly. * Staff are polite and willing to take the time to help you decide especially when you're deciding what to order. * Many customers coming in to order and leaving with a full belly and smiles on their faces (...that's always a good sign ). * The sauce options. I enjoy spice and it's always nice to have many options to enjoy. Cons * During my first visit, I ordered an empanada de pollo. I ranked it a 3 out of 5 due to the chicken wasn't seasoned well. Otherwise, I enjoyed the crispiness of the empanada. * The cashier/order area is a bit crowded and can get congested with customers when it's a bit busy. * No outdoor seating option during the summer months. At this time of this review, it is July 2025. * Staff offering the menu to new customers of other options that are not displayed on screen above the drink fountain area. * Other items to purchase along the back wall is a bit cluttered which could be utilized for other options (e.g., cutlery, extra plates, and the like). Overall, my family enjoys this local business and plan on returning. My rating would have been a 3.5, however with this rating system on Yelp it leaned more towards a 4.
