I really love this coffee shop. The one thing that sucks is that you earn punches for purchasing your drinks. I always buy larges. But when I go to use it or cash it in, I have to use 2 full punch cards for my large drink. No other coffee shop I've ever been to works this way. They also don't have more sizes for large hot drinks (nothing bigger than 20oz). I'd love to see more options in this sense. Traveling and stayed at the La Quinta across the street. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and cheerful. Service was quick and the latte and salted carmel frap were excellent. The place is a homage to police and firefighters. If for some reason that that bothers your sensibilites then just move on. No need to leave one star reviews just because you disagree. Staying at the nearby hotel, the logical choice seemed to be give this place a try. So glad we did! The coffee is really good with so many flavor options that there should be something for everyone. Disappointing experience with the owner today. Usually order two or more 20 oz beverages during each visit, which are $5+. Found a free card today while cleaning out my car and decided to use it. Ordered a 32 oz drink and a 20 oz latte. Was told by the staff that they only allow the free drink to be a 16 oz. I asked where it states that and she said on the punch card. I showed her this card and said I do not see where it states that. The owner then intervened which I was thankful for because I thought she would honor it. Instead, I was greeted with a, "We changed the cards to only allow a free 16 oz because we were losing over $6000," and then she walked off. So instead I opted to get a 16 oz and be done with it. To break down the math, 10 beverages bought at $5+ equals $50+. The price difference between the free 16 oz ($4.50) and the one I ordered ($5.75) is $1.25. I think it would have been a better choice to forgive the $1.25 difference and honor your card for your long time customer(s). Also, maybe state on your window that you will not honor older cards that do not state, "Only redeemable for a 16oz". Very poor customer service. read more

Great coffee and bagels. Customer service needs an attitude adjustment, that matches the quality of their products. As far as this Nazi thing, it is not the truth. The cop who had the tatoo, served our country in a combat unit and lost a close friend in combat. Both, patriots!!! The tatoo had everything to do with honoring the death of his friend and nothing to do with Nazism. The only thing that made it Nazism was someone who branded him a Nazi because they perceived the tatto as Nazi. There are an abundance of tattoos here in Walla Walla. It would be wrong to judge those with tattoos by what we think their tattoos mean or by the clothes they wear. Is this another form of racism? Oh, Mama! The store's interior is fascinating. Worth the trip in just to look at all the firefighter decorations and memorabilia. My hazelnut latte was very good. I opted for the $2 special of the day. I don't usually need straws (two thin ones were pushed into the top along with the placement of the lovely red hot jelly bean). I made the mistake of eating my jelly bean and my hubby's (he didn't want it, I swear) before I'd finished my drink. Don't make the same mistake; finish your drink first. Large interior with several places to plop down either in comfy chairs, couches or chairs at tables. Check out the ceiling, too, if you are sitting on the left side of the store. This coffee house is unique in that it pays tribute to the firefighters of America and all the work they do. The decor is different as the whole place is decked out with paraphernalia that relates to firefighting. They even have a firefighter looking down at you from the rafters. But enough about the great decor--how about the coffee? But wait--what about the service? The two employees who were working there were very personable and got the job done. The coffee was made and delivered quickly. Five stars for that. So now--how about the coffee? They have a special every day so if you like to change up your order, you can have something different every day. I am a creature of habit and tend to order almost the same drink every time I need a caffeine fix. This visit was no different and so I ordered a vanilla latte. It was very good. Just the right amount of vanilla to complement the coffee and enough coffee in the espresso shots to make the drink taste like coffee and not a nice warm milk drink. One of the advertising gimmicks of this establishment is that they deliver! Coffee delivery seems a little over the top, but I did get a coffee hand delivered to me about ten years ago by a local coffee house However, I quickly realized that there is way too much time wasted for an employee (or owner) to take the time to deliver a $4.00 cup of coffee to me personally. At this place, I think that they mean that they will deliver your coffee to you at whichever seat you are sitting at inside the restaurant! Great idea. I have to admit, however, that they do have a Hot Mama's car parked outside that could easily be a delivery vehicle. Just remember that tipping is expected (and essential for survival!) One of the best coffee places in town. The staff is super friendly and this small business delivers for free on orders over $15 so helpful for work orders. They have a great online ordering system that is pretty user friendly. They also do many fund raisers for the community. Well worth it to visit and see the have an awesome 9/11 tribute mural. read more

It's not my favorite coffee place in town but is probably my second or third! I just tend not to go here a lot, not really sure why cause everything is amazing. They have the best granitas in town! This is my favorite coffee shop in the valley. I like the way they have decorated the place with firefighter equipment and pictures of local firefighters. Their espresso milkshakes are by far my favorite, SO addicting. Thursdays are double stamp day, the staff are always friendly and helpful. I rarely frequent this coffee house due to its location. In the past I have been happy with the quality of coffee, wait time, and courtesy of the staff. However my most frequent visit was disappointing and did not meet the minimum expectations that any good coffee house should strive for. First the wait time was at least ten minutes just to order and we were the only customers waiting inside the building. The two barista's were both making drinks for the drive thru line. When the barista did finally wait on us, she did apologize for the wait. I ordered the special. The taste of the espresso was bitter, I threw it away. I would rather go to Starbucks, which I usual only frequent when I have no other choice (such as airports and towns that I am unfamiliar with). I won't be going here again. read more

Only reason I go here is for the big train coffees. I pay more then I should for these. I had a a free coffee and I was told I could only get a 16oz coffee. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD! So, I wanted to like this place. I was really excited to come and loved what it represented and looked like inside. I was VERY disappointed. I ordered an iced gingerbread coconut chai (excited to try it and was very disappointed). The syrup was overpowering and when I explained that to the barista at the counter, she understood and made me a new drink without syrup and it tasted much better. However, as I was sitting there with my drink, the barista who actually made the drink came to my table and said that they had to charge me for a second drink. So I left paying $11 for chai. The girl said she could make one so we went with that The cost turned out to be 5 bucks for a 20oz, which seemed a bit stiff, but we had asked for extra cream. It turned out to be the worst coffee drink we had ever had. A bright pink, sickeningly pink syrupy concoction that we could not drink. I really wanted to like this place, but I'm done trying. It is one of a handful of coffee shops on this side of town that have a drive-thru, which makes it nice when you need to pick up some coffee on the way to work. As other reviewers have mentioned, however, service can be painfully slow. There's also the matter of their inconsistent pricing., I order the exact same drink every time (a 24oz irish cream breve) I visit. When my bill was suddenly 10 cents more, I questioned the barrista about it. Her dismissive response was that they charge extra for flavored syrups. I started watching my receipts after that and, on occassion, the price varied. Sometimes it was 5 cents more, sometimes 10 cents less. There seemed no rhyme or reason to it. But I figured "what's a couple cents here or there," and reminded myself that my punch card was almost full. Who doesn't like free coffee. Apparently, "free coffee" means anything under 16oz, which removes about two-thirds of their menu from your list of options, my regular order included. Every other coffee shop with a punch card I've been to has given any drink on the menu in exchange for a full card. If they are going to offer a loyalty program like this, they should at least put the terms and limitations on the punch card and not blindside you with it at the window as they are handing you your drink. On a side note: In keeping with the whole "hot" theme, they give you a chewy cinnamon candy with your drink. Be forewarned that it's overwhelming taste will distort the flavor of your coffee. The cinnamon flavor lasts a long time. So if you eat it and decide to wait for the aftertaste to disapper before you enjoy your coffee, your coffee may be cold. read more
