The Coffee was a bit weak, and the service seems to decrease in proportion to how many piercings the barista has - which is unfortunately so common at these types of establishments these days. But, the baked goods are very good - the banana blueberry bread was excellent. So good I bought another one for the road. Oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be a solid bakery/coffee place in the downtown area, so this is pretty much what I'd recommend. read more

We've tried Coffee Perk a couple of times. The first time there was a bad odor and so many flies we walked out before ordering. The second time no flies or odor but it was the absolute worst tasting cup of coffee I'd ever had! My regular drip tasted like old socks and my wife's latte was so strong she had to add a ton of sugar. The staff was nice and the ambiance was ok but we won't be coming back. read more

This coffee shop is one of the main local spots in Walla Walla and a regular spot for locals. It's on Main Street so you can sit outside or inside and have a great view of the downtown (great if you like people watching). I love the variety of the menu- there are wellness lattes with ingredients like turmeric, beet or essential oils. There are energy drinks, CBD teas, and of course a traditional coffee menu. In my opinion, they have the best dirty vanilla chai lattes in Walla Walla! The menu is a bit expensive which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, but these days speciality coffee usually is. I've never tried the pastries but they look mouthwatering. They have healthier options as well like bobs red mills oat meal which makes coffee perk great for a quick breakfast or afternoon pick me up! And they have punch cards which I think add a nice incentive for coming back :) read more

LOVE this place! From the minute I walked in to the moment I walked out, there was so much about this place that I liked. This coffee shop is fairly large with a VERY open and bright layout. Even when every table is taken, it doesn't feel crowded and hard to navigate through like many other coffee shops. Their prices also seem to be very comparable and similar to other coffee shops in the area. The coffee is solid and the pastries look absolutely delicious. Every pastry I have tried was nice, moist, and did not taste old at all. Even the bubble tea/boba was fairly solid for it not being its primary drink of choice. I tried their taro slush with boba/tapioca pearls and it was absolutely delicious! Though, don't choose their thai tea---go to black pearl boba tea just a couple of blocks up the road; it's better! This place is super comfortable to be at whether with a friend or two OR even by yourself to study or simply to people watch. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Enjoyed a steaming hot cup of chai latte the morning after indulging in two very long nights in Walla Walla for the Gentleman of the Road World Tour stopover. Some people like that look, I don't. 3.5 stars +++++The servers were patient and willing to create whatever. I'm a Starbucks fan (my favorite is in Switzerland, however). So, when I'm faced with a menu that has a macchiato being a real macchiato and not my favorite Starbucks caramel macchiato drink, I'm stumped. The menu has an overwhelming number of "special espresso drinks" and the usual items of a real coffeehouse. The server was extremely gracious, listening to my likes and indecisiveness and finally said "I'll make you something that you'll like, and if you don't like it, let me know." 5 stars for effort +++The espresso drink (it did have caramel flavor) in a ceramic cup was lukewarm. Bummer, because the taste was OK (but not OMG I'll be back 5-star taste). Came here in April visiting Whitman. Good coffee. Espresso without bitterness. Good pastry selection that looks moist and luscious. Didn't see anything gluten free last trip and I've given up sugar since then. Back again. Dropping off my son this week and looking for all the assurances I can find that Walla Walla is a place he could be happy for a time. This little coffee shop has all the community and warmth you could want. They seem to welcome diversity--old timers and the volleyball team, profs and farm workers. This trip, like no other, that welcoming disposition means more to me than the quality of the pastry and the deep clean flavor of the coffee. Still...good to have it all. read more

ADA in-compliant. Wish I could tell you how the coffee is, but I can't get in the building because of a step at the front door. For a business established six years after the signage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, it is incredibly embarrassing for them to not even have a portable ramp available to their customers on wheels. I have gone to coffee perk multiple times and waved someone down in order to alert them of my interest in buying some coffee (so they could buy a ramp). Still, no ramp available, and it's been over a year. Call me stubborn, but I refuse to have my order taken outside 31 years after the ADA was put into place. I have been enjoying coffee here for many years. It used to be my go-to coffee house when I needed to have a meeting. However, somehow I gravitated to the next door coffee house and since then, I have not been here as often. This is a local coffee house employing local baristas. The baristas are all knowledgeable and make a great cup of espresso, any way you want it. They are personable and don't pressure you into deciding what you want but give you time to consider all your options. It was the first coffee house that I went to that didn't charge you for an extra shot in a large latte or cappuccino. They serve their coffee in ceramic cups unless you ask for it to go. They always make the drink look inviting and it always tastes great. They have a variety of edible food stuffs that will satisfy any minor hunger. There is a TV that is usually tuned into a music channel so the music here is generally quite eclectic. There is a lot of space for spreading out, especially if you are studying and need room for a large textbook, a computer, a notebook, and your coffee If you are there for rest and relaxation you can sit on one of the two couches and enjoy the fireplace, the company, or your own silence. The crowd is mostly local with a smattering of tourists. If you want to find somewhere to have a discussion with a stranger, this may be the place for you to go. If you are a Starbucksaholic, then this is an acceptable alternative. For actual coffee flavor, this is one of the best coffee houses in town. read more

Walla Walla need a true coffee house, but this is not it. It has great potential though. I liked the space. They have a sidewalk seating area and a roomy interior with plenty of seating including a couple of big comfy looking couches. I had a cup of the drip. It was really bad. It was watery and had only a bitter taste. It was completely disappointing. I don't know how the espresso is, but I was a block away before I tried it and didn't want to walk back. I was also looking for a decent pastry. I didn't try theirs because they did not look appetizing. They either looked limp or stale. I hope they can start to do better because the servers were very nice, but I won't be back unless I hear there has been a change. read more

When I was a high school student, Coffee Perk was the place to go on a Friday or Saturday night. The coffee was good, there were tasty appetizers, and comfortable seating for a small group of people. I had such fond memories of Coffee Perk I was dismayed when Starbucks decided to open its store just around the corner. Coffee Perk had a lot going for it--good location, locally owned, amazing desserts, beer and wine, and good lunch items. Also, it has better hours than Starbucks in a town that rolls up the sidewalks all too early in the night. But the last few times I've been in town and have stopped at Coffee Perk, it's lost its charm. It feels a little worn around the edges inside. I stopped by on a hot August day while in town last summer, and the mocha I ordered was so bad I nearly threw it out after the first sip. There's a little patio outside if the weather is pleasant, and the interior has a good amount of seating, including comfy couches and plush chairs. It's a little dim but nothing that will necessarily ruin your eyesight. The coffee is good, better than Starbucks for sure (so go here instead!). I did notice that they used Hershey's syrup the time I ordered a mocha and it was all sitting at the bottom of the cup; I'm not sure how I feel about that.. The baked goods are also sometimes tasty and sometimes cloying sweet. The staff are sometimes friendly, sometimes not, but the service is generally quick. To be honest, I came to CP because of the hours when I needed to get work done on my computer and wanted a little nook to hole up in.
