2023.05.13. Coffee Perk at Downtown Walla Walla, WA

Low rating on its boba tea. Instead, try BlackPearl across the street (E Main St and S Spokane St).

Dirty chai latte with oat milk

This coffee shop is one of the main local spots in Walla Walla and a regular spot for locals. It's on Main Street so you can sit outside or inside and have a great view of the downtown (great if you like people watching). I love the variety of the menu- there are wellness lattes with ingredients like turmeric, beet or essential oils. There are energy drinks, CBD teas, and of course a traditional coffee menu. In my opinion, they have the best dirty vanilla chai lattes in Walla Walla! The menu is a bit expensive which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, but these days speciality coffee usually is. I've never tried the pastries but they look mouthwatering. They have healthier options as well like bobs red mills oat meal which makes coffee perk great for a quick breakfast or afternoon pick me up! And they have punch cards which I think add a nice incentive for coming back :)

Americano with oatmilk and tapioca

When enjoying a sunny day in downtown Walla Walla, a local recommended that I stop at this shop for my morning coffee. This recommendation was well earned as Coffee Perk has a lovely staff, upbeat atmosphere, and unique menu. I ordered an Americano with tapioca and the pricing was very reasonable. While the boba was not the best I've tried, the coffee was excellent. I would definitely come again and try a pastry (they looked delicious as well)!

Morning chai latte

Enjoyed a steaming hot cup of chai latte the morning after indulging in two very long nights in Walla Walla for the Gentleman of the Road World Tour stopover. The warm aromatic flavors of the tea was very invigorating yet relaxing as I sat with my husband on their porch reminiscing on the last 48-hours in this cute little town. To be honest, we chose this place because Starbucks, which was just around the corner, had a crazy long line, but were happy with our decision since we were able to share a nice, relaxing moment before our long trek home.

There is a fireplace here, but it isn't on every day.

+++.+The physical space inside the store has something for everyone: couches, high chairs at a countertop looking out at the street for laptop users, cozy two-person tables, a fireplace. The variety of seating arrangements should please the current mood of anyone. It also had that lived-in look (the one that occurs when you're too busy to clean up after yourself). Some people like that look, I don't. 3.5 stars +++++The servers were patient and willing to create whatever. I'm a Starbucks fan (my favorite is in Switzerland, however). So, when I'm faced with a menu that has a macchiato being a real macchiato and not my favorite Starbucks caramel macchiato drink, I'm stumped. The menu has an overwhelming number of "special espresso drinks" and the usual items of a real coffeehouse. The server was extremely gracious, listening to my likes and indecisiveness and finally said "I'll make you something that you'll like, and if you don't like it, let me know." 5 stars for effort +++The espresso drink (it did have caramel flavor) in a ceramic cup was lukewarm. Bummer, because the taste was OK (but not OMG I'll be back 5-star taste). The coffee flavor was smooth, but not robust. 3 stars Good for you: if you really don't like the taste of Starbucks espresso Not Good for You: if you are a Starbucks fan, just keep walking, turn the corner, and you'll be home P.S. My star system rounds up on this one. Overall: 4 stars

Came here in April visiting Whitman. Good coffee. Espresso without bitterness. Good pastry selection that looks moist and luscious. Didn't see anything gluten free last trip and I've given up sugar since then. Back again. Dropping off my son this week and looking for all the assurances I can find that Walla Walla is a place he could be happy for a time. This little coffee shop has all the community and warmth you could want. They seem to welcome diversity--old timers and the volleyball team, profs and farm workers. This trip, like no other, that welcoming disposition means more to me than the quality of the pastry and the deep clean flavor of the coffee. Still...good to have it all.

Comfy seating and festive

My favorite coffee shop in Walla Walla. You can go to Starbucks a few steps away, or come here, the small local spot. It's comfortable, with a couple of couches, a fireplace, several tables and lots of seating. There are always a few Whitman students here cracking the books and doing the college student coffee house thing. Friendly place, good coffee, nice people.

If you are looking for a place to feel at home, this is it. Great service, homemade bakery items, a fireplace, local arts and craft items.

Great coffee place with lots of study spots. Starbucks gets too packed to study in, but Coffee Perk is just as good with more sitting area.

There aren't many places open in the area on Sunday, but I saw this place had coffee and pastries…read moreso we decided to give it a try. It was pretty busy inside, but after a bit we were able to order. I ordered an iced soy latte with a pump of almond. Also a regular iced latte. I also ordered a few pastries, the Kouign Amann, Almond Croissant, and Goat Cheese and Herb croissant. They unfortunately don't heat up any pastries which I wish they would because I do think it would make the pastries better. The Kouign was my favorite. It was crunchy and delicious and sweet, I would get again. The goat cheese croissant was pretty good but nothing too special. As for the Almond Croissant, I was very disappointed. It had hardly any almond filling, and there was no almond flavor. I wish they would put slivered almonds on it but it was completely lacking. I would skip the almond croissant completely. As for the coffee, I got a regular iced latte and a Soy almond latte. The coffee was not good at all and it makes me sad to say but after a few sips... I had to throw it away! I felt like it threw away $7. It was very watery and the syrup tasted off. This is usually my go-to at other shops but I just couldn't drink this at all. Overall it was cool to try a pastry or two but I wouldn't make another trip here.

I felt the staff was a little unfriendly and rushed us even though we barely spent a minute ordering . My experience everywhere else in the city had been so phenomenal in terms of customer service that this exchange really stood out . I wouldn't hold that against them though because it could have been an off day. The coffee was just ok ,I would probably skip it next time and stick to getting the baked goods. The goat cheese pastry and the rhubarb were very well made and tasted amazing. The inside is spacious but not the best organized and it was a struggle to pass through tables to get an open seat . The restrooms also were unkempt and the door that opens in the lobby cant be locked which is weird for a restroom in a public setting.

Very happy to find a dedicated GF option place to eat. The Americano coffee was good. I had a…read moredouble Eggs Benedict It came with no sides or garnishes. You get two halves of a GF English Muffin. Each half was layered with wilted spinach, a thin slice of sandwich ham (you could see the dark of the spinach through the ham), a tomato slice, the poached egg. Both halves were then covered with hollandaise and a sprinkling of parsley. Flavor-wise it was just okay. Nothing to set it over the top one way or another. It was plated on to cold plates. I watched as my plate was assembled and then sat on the counter while a single Eggs Benedict was assembled and then a Mama's Muffin sandwich was assembled. I told my table mates my Benedict has been sitting there for several minutes and it's going to be cold. Sure enough it was delivered with cold hollandaise and Luke warm egg. I asked to have it popped in the microwave to heat it up because it was cold. I think she gave it 30 seconds and then served it stating any more time might "break" the sauce. So I ate a cold eggs Benedict. I ate all the first one (then remembered to take the picture) and then ate most of the second one. Timing for cooking needs to be addressed to ensure customers receive hot food. Maybe a plate warmer would help or just serve one at a time as the plates come up. Our final party member had to wait as his was served a few minutes after the rest of us. Again, this place has a great concept and if we were just getting coffees and pastry it would have been 5 stars but for the breakfast service, there were too many bumps for more than two.

They were delicious! This place is super cute with lots of seating options inside. The service was quick and prompt on a Saturday morning. I didn't get a chance to try the baked goods but they looked so good! Two full cases of GF goodness.
