Everytime I come to City Grill I get a burger... and everytime it's delicious! To be honest, I have never tried anything else here but I don't feel the need to because the burger is so great and fairly cheap. As far as the service goes, I once got offered a free shot on my birthday which was a nice surprise.

I went to check out Karaoke night. It was quite empty which was fine. More singing for me. The waiter was EXCELLENT, I wish I had his name. I'd go back just for him. We ordered tacos which were DA BOMB . Deliciousness 100%.

If you go during the day it may be a little empty as it's more of a dinner an night bar crowd, DON'T be fooled, try their Brunch menu (bottomless mimosas $30) & the food is great !!! I been here once before, I tried the salmon and mash potatoes.. WOW, it was delicious. Thought I'd try the brunch menu and it didn't disappoint! The brisket fell right off and don't get me started on that magnificent Chili Verde w/shredded brisket and potatoes burrito

Last minute plans to gather a bunch of friends for a Birthday Celebration, and City Grill came highly recommended. I was lucky enough to meet the Alex the owner about a week prior to the reservations. He was very friendly, professional and courteous. He already had 2 large groups booked in the main bar but offered me the patio and it worked out great. I had a large group of 30-40 people, the patio ambience was perfect, plenty of seating, 2 fire pits, an assigned server that only worked our party (she was a rockstar, worked the entire area, her service level was phenomenal), easy access to restrooms, no crowed walkways, or cramped spaces, and the music although low made it easy for everyone to actually hear their conversations. The food is quality, I'd describe it as gastropub, the Garlic Parmesan Fries and the Salads were the groups favorites. They also have a full beer and wine bar along with an impressive cocktail menu and specialty drinks. The staff was solid. I was very impressed with their security team, he checked in with me on the hour to make sure we didn't need anything. I'm enjoy the Covina bars scene regularly, but usually sticking to Rude Dogs, Katie Jakes, Edna Vees, Ola, Cove, Elvie's, Republic etc. That said, I really like the City Grill it's a different vibe, the dance floor was lit the entire night, I heard the DJ was amazing, spinning dance, house and 70s. I'd describe the crowd as 30-40 yrs old party people, very lively, and fun. My overall opinion; their management team, service staff, security, quality of food and drinks is top notch. Thank you City Grill Team! If you haven't made your way over, I recommend you do soon.

I've been looking for new places since moving to Covina. I came in on a Sunday with my husband and noticed as soon as we walked in how loud the music was playing . I like the songs they were playing but found myself yelling at my husband to talk to him. We finally got a waitress. I order the Short Rib Grilled cheese, since I asked the waitress what there most popular item on the menu was, Also order a Cesar salad I would say the salad was better the grilled cheese. There margaritas were good. I noticed the manager was drinking White claws as he was talking to his customers . I did noticed how hard the cooks were working . I noticed a lot of servers walking around but they weren't directed on how to utilized themselves to keep the customers happy. I watched some customers walking out for no service. The ambience was nice but I don't think I'd come back.

I felt very comfortable enjoying my Sunday afternoon meal and listening to great music from my Era.!!! great music selection !! whi needs a dj !!! lol. I definitely will be returning soon. !! Blackened shrimp taco appetizer for $14.49. Smallish

First time here. Was a bit skeptical because no one was here. Interior is clean and large with lots of booths and several tables and it was quite pleasant. I came on a Wednesday at 7 pm and there were only 2 people at the bar the entire time here. Only saw one cook and 1 waitress, who was very pleasant. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and my wife go the shrimp salad. Both were tasty, and my wife really enjoyed the salad. I found the tacos to taste good but they were mini tacos, so I was a bit disappointed. However, most likely I would come back. Since we don't drink I cannot comment on the bar.

Food was bomb. I got the chicken salad wrap. My fiancé got the chile verde pork fries and southwest wings. Really good. The server I didn't catch his name (young man with nose ring) was very sweet and super helpful and attentive . Definitely recommend

We came here for Happy Hour and was quite impressed with the business photos from Yelp. So we decided give it a shot. Not going to lie I was a little disappointed with what we got. The order: City Burger: overall good burger fries were very soggy Kids Chicken Strips: to me the strips look and tasted burnt. Kind tasted like it was frozen and cooked it in really hot oil. Our server assured us that the strips are not frozen. Chicken Nachos: it was okay, the cheese tasted like jar quest dip from the store. I was also little disappointed in the presentation. Pros: Super friendly staff. Big shout out to the bartender who checked up on us more than our server. Nice big place, this would be a great place to rent out and have a celebration in which it looks like people do. Nice variety on the menu. Cons: I was a little disappointed with the food. I just felt the presentation was lacking as well as the taste. Overall: I recommend trying this place out for yourself. They have a nice variety with good happy hour menu. I just might be overly picky

I updated my review with all the info the owner requested, but upon reading more reviews, it's seems like pricing and service is kind of an reoccurring issue.

Servers kept walking past our table without checking in and honestly looked kind of lost or wandering around aimlessly. Luckily they keep water pitchers on the tables already filled, which now makes perfect sense considering how long it takes to get service. Smart move on their part. I ordered the avocado toast with a side of bacon, and my husband ordered the chorizo skillet. The coffees and my food came out quickly, but his never did. Instead, we watched an older server walk around the restaurant with his skillet and bacon, stopping at multiple tables asking if it belonged to them. Twice she set it down at other tables before being told it wasn't theirs. The third time, she finally brought it to us. That seems like it should be a health issue, what if someone else had stuck their fingers in it not knowing. By then, my husband didn't even want it anymore because it had already been sitting in front of other people. To their credit, they remade it, but then we waited another 15 minutes for his food while I had already finished eating. We actually watched another couple sitting next to us get so frustrated because their order was completely forgotten. After waiting forever with no food and barely any acknowledgment, they eventually just got up and left. Overall, cute spot and really good coffee, but the service was incredibly disorganized and the food mix-up was a huge turnoff. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

I'm not sure if there will be another page for this business when more information is out. But I wanted to leave a review either way, in case people still come looking for this page. I went on their last day at the physical location. There was definitely a feeling of community and good vibes. It wasn't so packed but there were plenty of conversations being had in this small space. It seems like they've cultivated a lot of trust and adoration with their customers. It was my first time here so I went with their chilaquiles rojos and a cafe de olla latte (hot). It didn't take long to come out. At first I thought the portion size of chilaquiles was on the smaller size for the price, but once I tasted them, I didn't mind it. They were so good! Flavorful, covered in red sauce, I love that they topped it with cilantro and onions, it gave it a burst of freshness. The egg was cooked perfectly (they gave me the option of scrambled or fried egg). It wasn't spicy at all (I kinda wish that it was). The latte was amazing as well. You really taste the piloncillo, but it's not overly sweet. I would go just for that drink alone. Everything about my visit was great. I would suggest following them on their socials to get updates about their next business ventures and hopefully news about where to find them next.

The food itself was just okay -- nothing bad, but nothing standout either. Basic eggs and hash browns. The corned beef hash was clearly from a can, which didn't bother me. The biscuits were a little hard and cold, but the gravy was actually pretty good. Now for the pricing -- $5 for an iced tea and around $7 for orange juice feels a little wild. Our total was $89 before tip for 4 adults and 2 kids (the kids shared one pancake, which was a good size). Overall, it was a decent experience. A bit pricey for what you get, but solid enough. It wasn't too egregious, though, with her checking after five minutes of me looking to her to get my coffee. The ambiance is a little old and past its prime, but I kind of think that's what gives diners like this its character.
