Collard Greens
Todd M.

We visited Cartersville this past week and had planned on a restaurant my spouse had been to many times. Upon looking at yelp, we changed our minds and decided to give the City Cellar a try. Are we ever glad we did! It is, as the name would suggest, in the basement of a downtown building. Rustic, but clean. Our server came quickly and was both friendly and knowledgeable about the food. We ordered the pimento cheese appetizer and had waters. This was an incredible start to our meal. Perfection! Spouse ordered the buttermilk chicken with a side of collard greens. I opted for the chipotle chicken wrap with fries. Spouse is from the south and said the collard greens were the best ever tasted. I took a taste and found them to be incredible. The chicken was also a hit. My wrap and fries were incredibly tasty and filled me up. We were finished... until our server came quickly suggested deserts. Chocolate chip bread pudding and a banana pineapple cake encased in hard chocolate... a banana split in cake form, if you will. The bread pudding wasn't bad but not incredible. The only thing that wasn't a home run. The cake? Wow! Incredible! Would highly recommend the City Cellar. Definitely planning a return visit.

Cellar Saw the reviews, I'm a big fan of good fish and chips. Arrived around 7:30 sat immediately. My dining partner showed up about 20 minutes later. We ordered quickly and decided to try the burger and the fish and chips of course. Fish and chips here is served fish and shrimp and I don't care for shrimp so they substituted more fish, in lieu of the shrimp which I thought was very nice. There were no more than 8 to 10 diners in the restaurant at the time yet it took a good half hour minimum for the dinner to arrive. And when it did, my fish was cool I wouldn't say it's cold, but it certainly wasn't warm and it certainly wasn't fresh out of the fryer. It was cod and it was very tasty although it would've been better had it been fully warm. My dining partner said the burger was excellent and was perfect temperature for eating and ate every bit of it which is always a good sign that they truly enjoyed it. The waitress was excellent. The noise level was low and I'd recommend it from that standpoint. Prices are reasonable for the location. My biggest problem with the evening: it was an hour before closing, and someone was sweeping the floor next to where we were dining and that really twists my shorts. I'm not at all interested in paying 50 or $60 to have dinner somewhere and be worried about the dust that's being kicked up by someone sweeping the floor right next to the table where I'm eating. It's also a backhanded way of saying "hurry up, eat and get out. My fish not bring warm/hot and the floor sweeping being it down to a 3 star experience. Off night, possible. I'd say have a try, my experience may have been unusual.

Cool location in old downtown Cartersville. Tucked off the square on a side street. Stepping down into the cellar it felt almost like an old speakeasy. I believe our waiters name was Sam. He was helpful, attentive and friendly. Reservations not accepted so come early. We arrived at 530 on a Friday night and our party if 5 were sat immediately but by the time we left there was a wait. We order the spinach dip appetizer. Served with grilled pita bread. It was different but good. Entrees were the Fish and shrimp with loaded mashed potatoes, southern gentleman burger with baked potato, Bibb wedge salad with steak, shrimp and grits with andouille sausage and Parmesan risotto, and lastly a Pocket of Salmon. Everyone enjoys their meals. Excellent flavors. Good portions. Definetly give this place a try if you're in town.

Mmmm mmmm mmmm what do you get when you cross southern hospitality with elevated southern food? This place! I'm going to start with the pro tip 1st. (Make sure you check in on Yelp! As the Will comp you a free side dish) So this place has some outdoor seating but the best place to be is down in the cellar. When you walk in turn to the left and walk downstairs. After walking downstairs you will be greeted and seated with wonderful Southern hospitality. There are lots of semi private booths that will easily seat 4-6 people. If you are more of a barfly they also have a full service bar that you can sit at. "Note being from way out of town California to be precise, wifey and I thoroughly enjoyed our waitresses Southern hospitality and charm. Our server called wifey "Sugar" and me "Honey" we thought that was so special especially because we were obviously over twice her age. Now for the best part "we'll actually everything About this place was the best part" the food: I ordered their Buttermilk fried chicken breast with greens and mashed potatoes covered with gravy and a side of their Fried green tomatoes. Wifey ordered the fish and Sweet Potato fries. Now the Fried Green Tomatoes by no means look traditional but oh mommy you wanna talk about an elevated Dish? Well this is it! The flavors they got out of these Green tomatoes is just amazing and they were not oily at all, simply stated they were an elevated crispy light flavor bomb! The buttermilk fried chicken: juicy , Juicy,, JUICY did I say juicy? So juicy in fact that there was no need for the gravy on top. The chicken was light, not oily and crispy and oh so delicious. The greens: cooked with pork had just the right amount of salt (while not the star of the plate were still very good) Mashed potatoes: home made skin and all were slightly chunky and molted in your mouth " perfectly home cooked mashed potatoes that paired well with the gravy. Fish and chips: hands down the best fish and chips I've ever tried with a light crispy batter (again not oily) brought home the flavor. The sweet potato fries also paired well with their butter and cinnamon dipping sauce. Bottom line: they get 5 yums up!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience, food, and southern hospitality

Fried Chicked. It's boneless, and absolutely delicious

We were traveling, group of 6 and wanted lunch without a hassle. Good reviews and location for us so we walked in, no reservation. No problem. Great service and the food was across the board wonderful. I had the fried chicken which was bones and in a gravy. It was perfect, crunchy and delicious. Five stars for food and staff. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

First time visiting, we were very satisfied! Ordered the spinach dip, pimento cheese dip, hand cut ribeye, mushroom ravioli, classic burger, and a few cocktails. Everything was very tasty, fresh, and our server Ethan was attentive and so sweet!Zero complaints over here, we will definitely be back!

Was starved after a day of traveling the highway and stopped here thanks to Yelp. Really had no trouble finding it after reading the previous reviews. Really nice vibe down in the cellar. Arrived before 5 so the place was fairly empty but when leaving an hour later lots of folks had arrived. Absolutely loved the solo guitarist playing while we dined. Our waitress was new (and admitted to just turning 18) so she needed to run to the bar to answer a couple of questions but she was friendly and kept a fantastic attitude so no worries there. While my Darling enjoyed a PInot Grigio, I sipped a Woodford Reserve. I'm not sure if this is a local law or a restaurant policy but I wasn't allowed to order a double...although ordering a second drink wasn't frowned upon? For dinner our threesome started with the waitress recommended cheese curds. They were good but to us seemed no different than a miniature size fried cheese stick. The dinners all received high marks. We enjoyed the fried chick, cowboy burger and cuban steak melt. Extra points for the sweet potato fries which were cooked expertly. All in all an really interesting place to stop and grab a bite, I suggest you do the same when in town.

Osso bucco

Beyond expectations!!! We sat at the bar as someone suggested and April and Hannah made it fun and gave us great service. Hannah made the best raspberry lemon drip I've ever had and husband had a fantastic old fashion made by April. Dinner was out of this world. We had prawn paella and osso bucco. We can not wait to come back. What a great place to end our Saturday night. Definitely will be back.

So we thought we would treat our son and his wife (new parents of a 2 month old) for a nice dinner out as a family (sans baby). Service was slower than normal, but that wasn't the real issue. Our entrees were delivered before our soup and salads. They offered to take our entrees away and "keep them warm" until after our soup and salads came out. So we agreed. Our son's French onion soup was delivered just luke warm - not even hot. The salads were fine, though. Our daughter-in-law's steak was ordered medium rare, but it came out rare so it had to be sent back. Our son's chicken fingers were also undercooked and had to be sent back, but only after our son had already eaten some of the undercooked chicken. I ordered the signature "Appalachian Grill" dish and the potatoes were burnt. At this point there were so many issues that we asked to talk to the manager and he offered to remove the signature dish from the bill. Our son and his wife were so turned off that they couldn't even eat their "corrected" entrees. The bill came and it was over $150. The only food that we actually ate was the Pickles and Pups appetizer and 3 salads. I asked for the servers and managers names and made it clear that I was going to write a review and that we would not be coming back. After we placed our credit card on the check, the owner came out to our table and began to cuss us out. When I told him I would be writing a reivew, his response was "I am the king of 1 star reviews" and asked us to leave. So we grabbed our credit card and proceeded to leave. After we left the restaurant he approached us at our car and proceeded to threaten us and even called me a "punk ass bitch." I should've called the police becasue we were already outside at our car and it looked like he was going to physically attack us. Our son and his wife were waiting for us outside and witnessed his tirade. Our daughter-in-law was terrified that the ower was going to get physically violent. There was no reason for him to follow us outside and continue to berate us at our vehicle as we were in the process of leaving. Either the owner was intoxicated or he needs to go to anger management. I regret not calling the police.

Great retro styles place with the walls, ceilings, bar, any space you can think decorated with…read morerock, blues, southern rock memorabilia. My wife ordered the n appetizer nachos for her meal, she couldn't finish them. They were huge, they did need some sort of a "wet" topping (queso, salsa, something). I had the double gonzo burger with Parmesan chips. If I had known the burgers were sure'nuff hand patties and thick, I would have only ordered the regular burger. I couldn't take a bite, had to remove a patty and eat it separately. It was cooked to the right temp, but it could use some seasoning. It was good, but just plain meat, no seasoning mixed in. Our waitress was attentive and never let my tea glass get to the bottom before bringing me another one!

1-Star Review (and that's being generous)…read more My wife and I were visiting home from Arizona and decided to try Ate Track Bar after several locals recommended it. We walked in expecting a fun, nostalgic spot with good food. Instead, we were hit with some of the most bizarre, unprofessional, and politically-charged décor I've ever seen in a business. Right away, we noticed signs pushing extreme right-wing political views plastered around the bar. It was uncomfortable, but we tried to shrug it off and assume maybe it was satire, maybe equal-opportunity joking. Then we saw the signs by the restrooms: "Restrooms - Republicans Only" and "Restrooms - Democrats Only." At that point, we realized this wasn't humor. It was just tacky. In 2025, with the kind of division this country is already dealing with, why would any business choose to alienate customers like this? As a consumer, I don't need - or want - your political views shoved in my face. I came to eat, not join a rally. We immediately decided to leave. Ironically, the hostess told us a table had just opened up, but there was no way we were staying after feeling that uncomfortable and unwelcome. The saddest part? My wife is a well-known influencer who was literally excited to do a fun, positive post about this place. Instead, we walked out offended and disappointed. Why lose customers over politics? Why create an environment where people feel judged or divided before they even sit down? Thankfully, we walked about 100 yards down the street to Table 20, where we were greeted warmly and had one of the most delicious lunches we've had in a long time. Night and day difference. Ate Track Bar might be a "nostalgic" spot for some, but for us, it was a harsh reminder that not every business is interested in welcoming all customers. If you're looking for good food and a place where you don't have to decode someone's political agenda just to eat, keep walking. There are better options right down the street.

I came to review B&B and my review from 2023 was still pending...! Sheesh!…read more Uh, so yea, we have been a few times and heck if I know why we don't go more. But tonight? B&B got their hooks in us! Husband was craving a burger, I wasn't really wanting anything specific; we just didn't want to go major chain. Keep them dollars local, y'know? Help a real person. Anyhoo, I did a quick search and asked if he wanted to try B&B again. Thank goodness he agreed, y'all. My only gripe with B&B is their parking lot. It rivals Trader Joe's for impracticality. So take your compact car! They had the corn hole stowed but heaters were blazing and there were people dining on the patio when we walked in. Better ye than me, folks! We were seated immediately and then we met our delightful server... Early server spotlight for Owen. Such nice energy for a gloomy Wednesday evening, really upbeat without being annoying, the perfect level of attentive. Go when he's there and reward his awesomeness as well! Okay, I decided this afternoon that I wanted a li'l blue plate special for dinner. And Husband wanted a burger. He got a spicy smash burger, the actual name escapes me. Spicy & smashed, she was! There was a good amount of heat from the pickled jalapeños so he took a few off. His recommendation is that they go for a smattering of the diced variety instead. (I've created a monster!!!) He was also very happy with his battered fries. Unless I'm misremembering, they remind me of A&W fries; not as seasoned or as battered as Checkers, but so good. What did I get? You're sweet to ask! I did three sides: garlic green beans, fried Brussels and fried okra. Yes, yes, and yes. They are so wild, I think all three were fresh! Can you even?! You know exactly what I'm talking about when I say frozen fried okra has a taste. If this was frozen ever, they need to patent that technology. The garlic green beans were giving Chinese food but better. Really balanced seasoning, good crispness, flavor. Green, if you can imagine! And the Brussels sprouts... With bacon and sauce... Those leftovers will hate to see me coming. "Leftovers?" I sense you ask incredulously. Yes. Because while perusing the menu online, I saw a nice, big picture of their Butter Toffee Cake. And I was instantly imbued with the knowledge that this cake would heal all my past traumas, pay off my student loans, and give me winning lottery numbers. Only time will tell on all counts. But if you order one thing at that restaurant, I demand it be that cake. The person handling those cakes went to the Hogwarts' Academy of Culinary Wizardry. I can hardly describe it and I have no idea what flavor ice cream is on top except it's the best one. If you like food, but especially butterscotch, or not - you need this cake. I blacked out after that and woke up here on Yelp, so... Please go try that cake.
