We came for my husband's 37th birthday and had a wonderful time! He had the smoked maple old fashioned and porkchop. I had the pom-tini and the dry aged new york strip. For dessert, he had the bourbon pecan pie and I had the bread pudding. Hands down one of the very best meals we've had in a long time. Juliette was wonderful and personable as well! We had also brought our 8 month old daughter who is an incredibly happy baby- so she made happy baby noises. When we apologized and offered to leave Juliette reassured us that she was a gem and nobody minded. She said it was louder to us than anybody else. This is a hidden gem in downtown Cartersville! The crab cakes are pretty much 95% crab meat, with just a little bit of binder and a lot of flavor because of the lemon aioli. My mother got the pork belly grit bowl, and it is a HUGE portion with tender pork belly, creamy grits and two eggs cooked to your liking. My father and I both ordered the burger rare & medium rare, but they came out medium well. While it was still good, a $17 burger should be cooked to temperature, which is why the food received a 4 star rating; the waitress apologized and offered to have it remade, but I'm the kind of person that does not send food back to the kitchen. I'm a little surprised that a manager didn't come around to check on the table after the feedback was given. Higher end restaurants usually receive a visit from one, and considering the order was a little off, I would think that definitely warrants it. The interior has a very clean and classy look, bright white walls and linen table cloths, decorated with vibrant artwork created by local artists. Our neighbor highly recommended this place, so we decided to drive the 30 mins to visit for my husband's birthday. Parking was a bit tricky, but ample parking once you find the correct side. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the music heard from the outside was nice. I really cannot remember the server's name, but she was kind and pretty attentive. She asked if it was a special occasion and we told her it was his birthday, which she wrote down and said so she doesn't forget it. I'm not sure why- nothing was ever done about it. Maybe the reviews I saw on the happy birthday desserts were requested. I don't understand why even asking about it, though, to the point of writing it down. We brought along our four children (ranging 5-18). She also informed us that they had chicken fingers and fries for any of the children who may need it- thank goodness! Someone other than our server offered to take a photo of all of us as well, which I really appreciated. We ordered drinks- the Citrus on Cherokee, which I found delicious and adequate alcohol, and him the Maple Smoked Old Fashion. My husband is an old fashion connoisseur and it was subpar. I tried it and it tasted very weak. It took forever to receive them. She came to our table and apologized and explained the ticket fell behind something and she didn't see it, so they comped our drinks. We thanked them. He also ordered a glass of wine afterwards. The food: we ordered two appetizers- crab cakes that were recommended by our neighbor, and calamari. Calamari is one of our go-tos at places, and this one didn't disappoint! It wasn't burned or overcooked like some reviewers mentioned. The crab cakes were also nice. We ordered two sets of chicken fingers and fries for the girls, which they loved. The portions were large. We also got pork belly- the teenager wasn't too fond, but my husband said it was delicious, the pork chop- flavorless and just ok. She said it came med rare, I believe, but he got it med well instead, 1/4 shrimp cocktail (for our 12yo who was afraid the kid's fingers wouldnt be enough)- no issue there, the filet mignon with fingerlings- the potatoes had no flavor. He ordered his steak med and is was very med rare, heavy on the rare. I wish I would have taken a picture. Mostly entirely red/pink, especially in the middle. It wasn't cooked evenly, and honestly, this steak was nothing to write home about. For $58 I expected something more. Lastly, I got shrimp risotto- it was ok at best. I ate it, but would never order again. One of teenagers ordered a peach lemon drop mocktail. We were charged $12 instead of the advertised $10, but I didn't mention it and just saw it as an annoyance. So for the part that really annoyed me. We were charged a 20% large party gratuity. We had 6 people and rarely considered a large party, but even if we are, it's never more than 18%. We are good tippers, always 20% or more, but often over for good service. We can separate good service from subpar food. I know it's not the servers fault. You just took that away from me to even give you more. TLDR: food was ok, service was pretty good, drinks were half and half, they did proactively make a wrong right by comping drinks, 20% gratuity was added to our party of 6, no birthday dessert or anything was offered. read more

I decided to stop by Largos in Cartersville, GA for brunch and from the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how beautiful and thoughtfully designed the space is. The art is amazing and perfectly placed to compliment each area. Whether you're looking for a cozy coffee date spot, a quiet corner to read, cocktails at the bar, or a lively meal with friends, Largos has a seating space to complement it all, and there's even outdoor seating with tans and fire pits. The food and drinks were outstanding. I tried the shrimp & grits, French toast, crab cakes and the Bellini flight. I'm a picky eater in a sense so because of the sauce and another ingredient I didn't care for the crab cakes but everything else was perfect... so good I had to order a double to go. The balance between presentation and taste shows the kitchen takes real pride in their craft. On top of all that, the customer service was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about creating a great experience. There's also a very basic and reasonable dress code, but I was dressed down with sneakers and a baseball cap and I didn't have any issues. However, in general this is a place that l'd dress a little nicer to visit next time. Even though it's a bit of a drive for me, it's 100% worth it, and I'll definitely be back again soon. This round I only experienced the brunch, but next time I'll be stopping by for dinner. The best culinary experience in Cartersville. My wife and I ate on the front patio the last week of October 2024 and really enjoyed the ambiance and food. Great wine selection. Maybe the best in Bartow county. I had the grouper and found it prepared well. Moist and flaky. The accompanying potatoes and veggies were nice. I wish there was more green on the plate as it was overall a bit...brown. No complaints only a suggestion. My wife, a vegetarian, pieced together some sides, appetizer and salad for her meal. Salad was good but next time she would get the dressing on the side. Brussel sprouts were fantastic! The mushroom appetizer was ok but we were surprised it was fried. We don't recall the menu mentioning it being so. Again, more green options would be welcomed as the overall display was plain. Our appetizer was the pimento cheese and it was to die for. The okra slices were FIRE!! Highly recommended. The wine we selected was, Vineyard 29 CRU, a Napa Valley Cabernet and was decanted nicely. It was slightly above temperature but drank exquisitely. 4.5/5 Service was good but should be refined. I'm sure this will follow as more people discover this gem. Listen, this is the best culinary experience in Cartersville, GA, maybe in NW Georgia. My credentials include eating at over 15 Michelin starred restaurants and more than 20 of the top restaurants in the world. I eat mostly vegetarian food with sometimes a fish or two. We were traveling through Cartersville on the way to Tenn. and Largos was recommended by a local acquaintance. We were greeted immediately by a hostess who accommodated us to move from an outside table to inside. The service was excellent. I had the seasonal sangria ( I usually order red wine,) but decided to try the sangria and it was excellent....a special treat for Fall. Pasta night was an unmitigated disaster. The food was Olive Garden level. When you advertise pasta night you expect something special like homemade fresh pasta served either delicate garlic oil sauce, fresh tomato and basil sauce or a fine parmagiano reggiano cheese sauce. What I got was a box of Ronzini, lukewarm tomato sauce with no flavor and a microwaved chicken parm. My friends got a ravioli that hid the advertised andouille sausage, a Caesar salad with no croutons, and all this with a wait of an hour to receive our main course. While we enjoy lingering over a fine dining experience for hours, waiting an hour for something that can be cooked up in about 20 minutes is inexcusable. The restaurant was understaffed with only two servers. The Chef seemed more interested in talking with a patron at the bar than making sure meals were hot, tasty and on time. The quality of the food was sub-sub-par. This is a far cry from when we first started patronizing the restaurant shortly after it opened. Anyone who was there at the beginning knows the difference. Our previous meal in January was so salted you would have had a hard time telling what you were actually eating. If doing pasta nights then MAKE THE PASTA. Sure it takes time and yes I understand that serving dozens is different than making it at home, but y'all are chefs and chefs know how to do bigger batches. Maybe my expectations were too high, but our first dinner at Largos was disappointing. The restaurant decor is modern and beautiful. Our table for 2 was too small for our food, and drinks. Kyndal, our server, was great. My husband ordered the Elk steak which was beautifully presented and he enjoyed it. I ordered the acorn squash salad that was supposed to have arugula but tasted mostly like bib lettuce. If there was any goat cheese in it, it wasn't noticed. I also ordered butternut squash soup that had a very thick consistency, more like a thick puree. The spoon stood up in it unsupported and it quickly congealed around the edges of the bowl. We will probably give Largos another try but I have not recommended to friends based on our first experience. read more

The pork chop, Brussels sprouts, and shrimp and crab fritters were good. The fritters could have used some more sauce which was also delicious. The serve attempted but lacked knowledge or experience. Take your own wine! They have a corkage fee! I wish I'd known! Cons- the lemon drop martini was just lemonade. There's not a Pinot Grigio the menu. I wanted the filet but do not care for asparagus. I asked if I could have the filet with the ribeye plating. The waitress said yes. Then came back and said no. So I switched to the ribeye. My ribeye was grilled med rare but served room temperature. In fact we had to wait a tad over an hour for our food so it was all room temp. The pomegranate, pear and cabbage was terrible. There wasn't anything on the ribeye. I understand markup but the rose was $12 a glass for a $15 bottle at total wine. The Pinot Noir was $14 a glass for $20 bottle. The mark up would have been ok if the food and service quality matched. Due to our food taking over an hour, we had extra wine to pass the time. Maybe that is part of their plan. Slow service for more cocktails. The fried okra was mushy and the Vidalia onion ranch was watery ranch with course chopped onions. Not tasteful at all. In fairness my husband liked it. The potato hash cake was bland and undercooked. It was just a stack of shredded potatoes. The caramelized onion were on the side, mushy also. And there wasn't an aioli on side. It would have helped the dish. My $40 bone in rib-eye was fatty on top of being room temp. A good portion I couldn't even cut through to eat. The place is too small. We had a table for 2 and it was right behind the curtain at the front door. The curtain kept blowing on us. The foot traffic around our table was too much. The waitstaff kept bumping into my chair. Theirs not a place to set you purse. I do NOT like having to set my purse on the floor. The menu is too limited to not allow minor substitutes. The waitress said a grilled item couldn't be switch yet my husbands pork chop was on my ribeye plate. All around just a terrible dinning experience. It's a shame because Cartersville needs some different and unique dinning. It's a Larg-No for me. read more

Tuesday night, 5 pasta dishes only on the menu. Calamari was average at best, presentation was sub par. Taste was ok, nothing special. Ravioli dish, was only 5 pieces for $27. Over cooked/fried on one side and was chewy. Soaked in butter, not brown butter as it stated. Chicken parm swimming in salty sauce, portion was an ok size for the money. Parpadelle was overly salty and very dry, like it had been sitting on the counter for awhile. Pasta night and no bread of any kind was served, including the focaccia that was for purchase on the menu. Cocktails were weak, and lacked flavor. Staff was very nice, place was cute. Let's set the stage: you and your wife are pushing 40. You've been talking about trying this place for close to a year and tonight, the stars aligned and you were able to dump the kids at the in-laws, get the reservation in, wash off the cobb webs and get out the door. You get to the restaurant exactly on time and get seated right away. Unfortunately, that's where your luck runs out. Turns out, you were wrong. Those stars weren't aligned and, in reality, mercury is in full on retrograde. You quietly wait at your table for about 5 minutes and no one comes for an order. No big deal, you and your wife have some catching up to do. Then another 5 goes by. And another (we're at 15 now for those keeping track). The small talk is running dry. You're watching other tables get drinks, food, lessons on opening a champagne bottle, the works. You're not a naturally confrontational guy, but you're working on standing up for yourself, so you go to the bar and ask for a waiter. The bar tender apologizes and sends over the same person who has been providing the tables directly to your left and right excellent service for the last 20 minutes. (Remember those champagne bottle opening lessons?) She apologizes and promises it'll only get better from here. You place your order since what else are you going to do after 20 minutes? You also ask for a sweet tea. That tea is never gonna happen. The food arrives in a surprisingly unproblematic fashion and you know your insta is about to go viral because this food's amp looks like it goes to 11. But you're wrong again. Your wife takes a bite of her Gnocchi and pauses. Guys, you know the pause I'm talking about. Takes another bite. Another pause but this time those little lines at the side of her mouth appear. Those same lines that show up when she sees a puppy she can't steal. You ask what's wrong. She says it's salty. You try bouncing that back. "Maybe you're the salty one " She tells to try it and you comply. It's salty. Like really salty. So you're close to 35-40 minutes in and you're def done. Your waitress comes to the tables beside you to take desert orders. You feebly try to flag her down but she's gone. You wait. Your wife waits. Do we just leave? Do we go full Karen and ask for the manager? No, play it cool and handle it with the waitress. She checks on the tables beside you again but now you and the wife are seeing how bad it can get. Waitress walks around your table to go the next. So you take the food to the bar. Tell them to take it off the check and you're out. Crab stuffed grouper was ok. Gnocchi was def a salt lick/inedible. Def a little over priced but everything is these days. Only reason it's not a 1 star is it did at least give me and the wife something fun to talk about the rest of the night so thanks for that! read more

They promoted a 9oz. Sirloin for $55. They promised it wasn't chewy. It was exactly that. I couldn't finish it my jaws were so tired of chewing. It was tasty due to the butter topping but still lipstick on a pig. I asked for it to be cooked medium after they tried to push rare. They push rare because it gets even tougher beyond rare. They did temove half the cost of the steak. So I only paid 1/2 of what it was worth. I'll stick with Appalachian grill. A real Filet and 1/2 the cost. I've gone here a few times, once with my mom and some by myself to try the different menus offered and have had a great experience every time! The place has a great atmosphere that feels intimate and classy, it was a great place to catch up with both family and friends. Went here for my niece's college graduation expecting a delicious celebratory meal but unfortunately it was almost comically bad. All she wanted for her graduation dinner was a fancy steak but the filet that came out tasted like jet fuel or the meat had gone extremely bad. She encouraged me to taste a bite to see if it was as gross as she thought it was and I had to spit it into my napkin. I've dined all over the world and live in NYC where we go out to steakhouses often and I have to say I've never tasted anything like this. The staff was really kind and tried their best to make it right including sending out another different cut of steak but that was funky tasting as well. I don't know if the meat was rancid or their marinade is the problem but definitely avoid the steak here. The trout and fried chicken were delightful and the staff were lovely. I feel bad writing this place a bad review because they tried so hard to fix things but at the end of the day, they ruined what should have been a very special dinner for a milestone event. We loved largos but will probably not return. My husband and I went out to grab drinks and a nice dinner. He ordered a bourbon cocktail and received a 2 oz watered down whiskey drink. It almost seemed like someone's old drink that was left at the bar. The drink menu is limited and not a lot of cocktail options like before. Their previous drinks were the best I've ever had and I was looking forward to that so much. They were very refreshing & tasty. I ended up getting a glass of wine because the new drink menu was limited and not very appealing. We tried to move past it though and ordered calamari which was very overcooked.. it felt like we were eating chips. Most of the other appetizer options were fried foods. The entrees were not the variety and quality that largos used to have. We opted to pay our bill and leave and went somewhere else. We actually ended up seeing another couple from largos at the same restaurant, so it seems we weren't alone. So sad to see such a great restaurant lose its way. read more

My wife and I ate there Friday night, and she ordered the evening special which was a beef filet. The meat was spoiled, smelled bad and tasted awful. She sent her entree back and the Chef came by the table to apologize saying he had called the butcher to come get the spoiled meat.
