House Salad with the house, hot bacon, honey, mustard dressings
    Kevin H.

Visited for the first time. We were favorably impressed. Greeted immediately and taken to a table right then and there. Bust Knight we just happen to walk in at the right time I guess because all the tables were filled. Our server came to the table within a minute and took her drink order came back served. The drinks took our generator. I mean at this point everything was perfect. You couldn't have asked for anything more. I don't think. I had the house salad for an appetizer and we ordered the filet mignon and the ribeye steak for dinner. Both were very good.. It was a generous size ribeye for $46 and that's middle range these days for steak certainly not expensive. The restaurant is small. It's not very large and people are sitting very close to each other but the very high ceilings kept the noise at a minimum and talking to your dinner, companion was easy. He didn't have to strain to hear or yell for them to hear you. Overall, I'd say it was a very enjoyable experience. The food was good (not great but good) , Service was very good and the meal went off without a hitch. I would ignore all the negative views and give it a shot and decide for yourself. That's what I did and I'm glad we did.

Shrimp bisque (good but light on shrimp or shrimp flavor). Very good Miracle mushroom soup with puff pastry in background.

After never having a bad experience over many years at Appalachian Grill, last night was a swing & a miss. To be fair, the food was actually mostly good and the ambiance is still nice, except for some odd smells from the kitchen at times. Anyway, it was a 30-min wait - not surprising given the popularity of the place, but we did notice some tables sitting empty for a while. Staffing maybe? Anyway, we were seated & "M" promptly arrived asking about drinks & specials. We said we'd need just a minute but would start with water. She disappeared for a solid 10-12 min. We almost left but she returned & took orders. I got shrimp bisque (good but no shrimp pieces noticed or really no real shrimp flavor). Wife got the miracle mushroom soup with a beautiful puff pastry on top & loved it. We split the Gouda bacon burger with fries. We'd have each ordered full entrees but to sub a different vegetable on the fish dinner was going to cost another $2, putting fried haddock at over $30. No thanks. Mercifully, the soups came quickly but burger took another 20 min. as we saw food delivered to new arrivals all around us. Burger was good but the plank fries were ugly (with a big brown spot on top) & nothing to write home about. "M" again disappeared for long stints, eventually refilling my tea but never showed back up with my to-go tea before we'd had enough waiting & left.

He got the Prime Rib. I got the New York Steak. Very delicious.

Me and my husband went there. Saturday night 2/28. He got the prime Rib n i got a smoky New Your Strip. They both wher cooked to the right temp. Just the way we wanted. We will be coming back more n more.

The service was excellent, it's a nice Lil quaint place. The food presented itself well, it was downright pretty and looked well seasoned but unfortunately, I found the food to be a little bland. Nothing had a taste other than the small fish bread that came with the salad and the mashed sweet potatoes. I gave it 3 stars because everyone was so friendly.

My husband and I went to the Telles Museum yesterday for my birthday and stopped at this restaurant for lunch first. I have to say if it wasn't 1 hour and 45 minutes from our house we would be regulars. The atmosphere is rustic, unique and warm. Our server was Kim and she was lovely. Attentive without being intrusive. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the pecan crusted trout and my husband had the scallops and shrimp pasta. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. The town looks awesome but we didn't have time to spend there. We will be back and will eat here again.

    Key Lime Pie.... Amazing.

Four of us came to the Appalachian Grill for lunch. It was a first time visit, and we came upon high recommendations from friends. All of our meals were absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly! I had the Grouper with a Crab Cake. Others had Catfish & 1 had the Appalachian Grill Special. For Dessert we had Key Lime Pie & Creme Brulee. Our amazing server was Ally. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetheart. She took excellent care of us. We also got to meet the manager & the owner Jackie. It was great dining experience for all. Highly recommend the Appalachian Grill for lunch or dinner!

Terrible attitude and atmosphere, average overpriced food. Not worth it. I'd rather eat McDonalds for the rest of my life than eat here.

I ordered the steak & chicken hibachi with double rice in the place of veggies. I asked for a lot of yum yum sauce and teriyaki sauce. Our waitress brought over a container of Yum Yum and three decent sized bowls of teriyaki sauce. It was perfect! My wife had sushi (she's particular about her sushi) and she said this was the best she's had in a long time. She said you could tell it was fresh. She was particularly impressed that the volcano roll actually looked like a volcano and had shredded crab and all on top of the actual sushi rolls. She must have enjoyed it, because walked up to the sushi bar and complimented the sushi chef. Kobe has two dining options, you can choose to do the hibachi style with the chef preparing your food in front of you or you can choose the "dine in" option. We chose to "dine in" and were seated on the right side of the restaurant. The hibachi tables are all on the left side. Kobe is a nice, clean place. You can tell they take pride in the restaurant. My wife enjoyed that each table has its own little lamp. Our waitress told us they are a small business, not part of some chain. They also order their fish and other stuff for the sushi bar every other day to ensure freshness. She told us they had actually received a delivery that day where they ordered several thousand dollars worth of fish, etc. Give Kobe a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!

From the moment we arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. Our server, Lizzy, was outstanding: attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Excellent service like this immediately elevates a dining experience, and she made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the steak. We shared a massive 50-ounce ribeye, cooked beautifully and bursting with flavor. The meat was exceptionally tender, richly marbled, and perfectly prepared -- easily the kind of steak that justifies a visit on its own. Before the main course, we explored the sushi bar menu and ordered the crispy rice appetizer, which turned out to be one of the most memorable dishes of the evening. Tempura-fried sushi rice topped with spicy tuna, chili garlic, and a soy glaze created an incredible balance of texture and flavor -- crispy, spicy, savory, and slightly sweet all at once. It was a standout and a perfect example of the restaurant's successful fusion approach. The sides were solid complements to the meal. The fries were thick, plump, and pleasantly crunchy, while the sautéed onions were classic steakhouse fare done well. The bread service was another pleasant surprise, featuring soft, tender rolls alongside pão de queijo -- a delightful Brazilian touch that we did not expect but thoroughly enjoyed. For a two-person dinner -- including one appetizer, a large shared steak, two sides, and water (no alcohol or dessert) -- the total came to about $300 including a 20% tip. AG Steakhouse successfully blends classic steakhouse excellence with creative menu options that keep the experience interesting and memorable. We left impressed -- and already planning our return. We'll definitely be back.
