Just happened by this Marlow's while at a sports event nearby. Our food was good but our service was a little less than stellar. We were greeted by at least three servers, who would ask us how many in our party, walk away, and then never come back. While there were plenty of tables and servers that we saw, it took close to 10 minutes to be seated in a booth facing a screen showing March Madness. Our server was nice and attentive once we finally got seated. My daughter LOVER her quesadilla. My salad was very filling, and I have to say that, even though it didn't look like there was dressing on it, there was a light drizzle that was actually enough to taste. Our server didn't hesitate to bring me a side of dressing anyway. So the food, itself, was pretty good. We were so excited at first, when we had great service and the smoked trout dip was delicious. We both had salads, and those were pretty disappointing. The "Asian miso salad" was SMOTHERED in a creamy white dressing that mostly tasted like mayonnaise, sort of ranchy but more bland? I was quite surprised because I expected more of a traditional Asian crunch dressing. My dining companion said the black and blue steak salad was good, as it should be for $23. Consistently our favorite tavern. My friend is vegan and I am not, so choosing a restaurant we both enjoy can be a challenge. Marlows never disappoints when it comes to a delicious and diverse menu. I am already a Black Card holder and an aficionado of Loyalty programs, among which yours is stellar, but what keeps us coming back are the folks out front that we have come to know. I prefer the bar in most taverns and especially love the vibe in your Kennesaw location. Nick, Gini, Liz, Emerson and Ashley are some of the best bartenders and servers we have ever known. They have the best waitstaff and the food is excellent. The salads are delicious and healthy with fresh crispy ingredients. Had an amazing dinner at Marlow's this weekend! It was a freezing day, but Marlow's felt so warm & friendly when we walked in. We ordered cocktails before both deciding to order the Bistro Fillet with twice baked potatoes. It was fabulous! We both chose the garlic butter sauce on our fillets. Even before our entrees arrived, our server asked if it was our first visit to Marlow's. It was, and unbeknownst to us, the manager brought us an appetizer of kettle chips "on the house." They were so good - like a light nachos app with blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, and cheese. So yummy! Will definitely visit Marlow's again when I'm back in Atlanta! Marlow's fits in a unique spot of being an elevated neighborhood place with great food and dining experience without being stuffy. Really nice food options that aren't run of the mill "bar food" and very attentive service. The setting allows for a nice date night, a group dinner, or comfortable bar seating, with a trendy yet warm setting. Ample patio seating as well! The prime rib dip could have had a bit more meat to it but was tender and enjoyable. The white cheddar grit cakes are crispy and a good option. read more

Sadly, we will not be back to this location. Our service and food experience was terrible. When I ordered my tavern burger, I asked for a side of tomato bacon jam and said "no thank you' to cheese. I then asked for a side caesar salad instead of fries. My teens ordered their burgers with cheese only, no veg. (I specifically told the server - don't even put the L, T, and O on the plate.) When the food came after a long time of waiting, a plate with a pile of caesar salad next to an absolutely naked burger was plopped in front of me. Who puts salad on the same plate as a warm burger? No veg, no tomato bacon jam, nothing. The runner left so quickly that I had no chance to ask for the lettuce, tomato, and jam so I could just add it myself. I started eating the salad in the meantime. There was no S&P on the tables. I waited for someone - anyone to come by so I could ask. I finally got up and looked at a sideboard on the patio where we were seated. A guy server immediately snapped, "do you need something?" When our server finally came back, I told her my burger was supposed to have veg and jam, she said, "I saw them making your burger with the veg." Well, apparently, that's not what I got. So she snatched up the plate and said, "I'll have them fix it." I had to say, "WAIT. Leave it here, so I can at least eat the salad. Just bring me a side of L, T, and Jam." So she plopped the plate back down and left. More waiting. I got a plate of L, T, and also red onion - which I didn't ask for. Now my L and T taste like onion - yuck. I said, "I still didn't get the jam." More waiting. She brought me a ramekin of something I didn't recognize. I said, "that's not tomato bacon jam." Oh. We don't have that anymore. This is onion marmalade. At this point, I must've had smoke coming from my ears. Without a word, she left and sent over a manager who insisted she bring me something else. While she was standing there dealing with my issue, one of my kids said UGGHHH! And had a huge string of onion hanging out of his mouth. He always lifts the top bun and inspects his burgers, but this was underneath the patty, almost melted into the bottom bun. I ended up going with a black and blue salad, which I've had before, but the meat is not very tender. It's the end pieces of the filet. At this point, my other teen was so upset over everything and just wanted to leave. This is the last straw - - so many of our favorite menu items have been taken away over the past few years. All Marlow's are mostly the same, and we get a consistently good product here. This location is a favorite spot in the area and we are comfortable bringing friends here from all over the US. What a unexpected but great way to celebrate my birthday. Marlow's Tavern sent me a discount code because of ly birthday and I decided to go for a visit. I placed a to-go order and the bartender took the order was very nice. Instead of waiting in the car, I decided to do some #selfcare and got me a drink while I waited. The music selection was fun. Never knew this place was here.... met up with a co-worker and had an app and then dinner. We wanted to sit outside, it was a little chilly and the plastic wrap was all rolled down.... The server was nice enough to put on and turn off the heaters outside when it was too chilly or too hot... eventually it all balanced out. For the app, my co-worker put together the truffle parmesan fries topping but on the asparagus fries app.... GENIUS! And they obliged (she had apparently done this before...) Super tasty! Then for dinner, we both locked in on the chicken...so, we both ordered the same thing but I switched up my veggie selection to the smashed red potatoes and green beans that came with the steak and it turned out great. However, the chicken was a tiny bit on the dry side (tiny bit overcooked) and a bit flavorless without any sauce, but the combination of everything together in a bite made up for that. There are so many restaurants in this area but if I am looking for a pleasant experience with good food, I come to Marlows Tavern. This location like the rest of them has an intimate ambiance, with dim lighting. The bar is very large and a great place to come to watch a game. There is patio seating options as well. The service is always friendly and attentive. My favorite appetizer is the Ahi Tuna Poke, it is delicious every time I order it. Marlows might be one of the few restaurants around that has fresh tasting tuna consistently. The Firecracker Shrimp is tasty and is my second favorite appetizer. I have also tried the Shrimp and Crab nacho plate which is a few large nachos covered in cheese with a shrimp and Crab mixture, it's like eating super cheesy Flatbread, definitely a yummy dish to share unless you don't care about ruining your figure and in that case eat it alone. Like any good restaurant Marlows Tavern changes up their menu with the season. I really enjoy the Pan Seared Trigger Fish, it has a perfect combination of flavors all on one plate. The grilled Atlantic Salmon entree is delicious. I tried the Tuna Poke Bowl recently and it had a lovely flavor. There are certain items that are constant like the shrimp and grits, I always substitute the grit cakes for the jalapeño grits, so tasty. My husband loves the burgers and hand cut Tavern fries. I've had the Crispy Grouper, it's super filling and yummy. My favorite alcoholic beverage is the Peachy Georgia Peach & Ginger Margarita. This location is always on point with excellent service, cleanliness, and the food comes out fast. There is something on the menu for every type of diet. I ate here recently with my teenager and the food was good, and refills came swiftly. They had Sunday brunch in addition to their normal menu, plus seasonal fall desserts. The pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce was quite nice. I would eat here again and do recommend it. read more

My husband and I are traveling to South GA and are spending the night in Kennesaw. It's our anniversary so we wanted a nice meal. We started with the hummus. The veggies were crisp and fresh. The pita bread tasted fresh made and the hummus was delicious. We would definitely recommend! For our entree we split the Trigger Fish, which came grilled atop spaghetti squash with kale, craisins and something lightly drizzled on top. It was DELICIOUS!! They split it for us in the kitchen. The amount was perfect. We also ordered an extra side of grit cakes. They came out crunchy and piping hot. Yum!! We finished our meal with the cream brûlée- we were celebrating our anniversary after all. It topped off the meal perfectly. Our server, Noelani, was fast, efficient, got everything right and was a delight. The meals being delivered to other tables looked awesome too. Definitely give this place a try. Let me be clear about this five-star rating. If you are a foodie just visiting the Atlanta area, you can find more memorable experiences, but I'm a foodie who lives in Kennesaw, and this is my annual birthday pick. That's what I want in a place! The negatives are few: the menu changes, so some of my favorites have disappeared over the years. For real though: please bring back the fried calamari with fried lemon slices. I've never had better, and no one makes it like you! There are not many tables and just a few are big enough for more than four people, so prime time is going to mean a wait, and there's nowhere to wait and no buzzers and no call-ahead seating. Hovering over people's tables is awkward. The patio may be open, but it has no real vibe - not like the coziness inside. So currently, the hummus appetizer is the winner! Holy yum! Perfectly seasoned and creamy with a drizzle of olive oil and served with fresh veg and delightful little pita slices! The burgers are yum. The salads are nice. The drinks are good. The fish tacos are fun. My sister swears by the panini while I'm a chicken-stack girl...always have been. The sides and presentation may change, but it will always be extraordinary-- moist chicken I feel good about eating! The side right now is something about butternut squash and cauliflower....I don't even know. It was so buttery and balanced, I inhaled it and came close to licking my plate. After writing several rave reviews for this location over the years, I am sad to report that three of my last five visits have had serious issues. The first visit my fish tacos were terrible. I had asked the server to make sure they were grilled (like I always do, & they're usually fantastic!). When I told him they tasted burnt, he said that's the way they were always prepared & did not offer to rectify the situation. On my second incident, I was overcharged for my meal (my husband paid the bill & didn't notice). And the third strike was when my husband picked up a to go order from Bree at the bar. He gave her the code to check in for the Insiders' Club, but we never received credit for it. I know it sounds petty to complain about, but after several phone calls to bartender, Dave (manager on duty), & Danielle (general manager), it speaks volumes to me...I spent hundreds on gift cards and my birthday celebration at Christmas, & my husband & I usually eat here for date night. My first time here. When entering the restaurant it seemed kind of dark, but we did not want to sit outside. This would be a great dinner place. We had a Tortilla Salads with added grilled chicken and salmon. My salad with chicken was most likely one of the best salads I have had for a long time. It was fresh, light, and the lime dressing was refreshing. Two pieces of the grilled chicken breast were thin and juicy and not too tough. My friend's salmon was also really great. First time the Server asked: "How would you like your salmon to be cooked?" Wow, not overcooked! The menu had a lot of other nice choices. Had a great lunch here with family on Black Friday. For the past number of years, family tradition has come down to a big Thanksgiving Lunch at my youngest Son Brian's house with his family, older Son Chris and associated other individuals including the Grandchildren. This year we had a new addition to the group with our first Granddaughter who was just shy of 6 months at time. The day after the big feast (Black Friday) or the next day which would be a Saturday we take the kids to see Santa and then have a family dinner after that at a local restaurant. For the past three years, we have visited Santa at Town Center Mall in Kennesaw. Last year we went to Olive Garden but it was too close to the mall and the Christmas Rush that they were overwhelmed and service left something to be desired. On of Brian and Jill's favorite place and where they had taken me before was Marlow's Tavern on Roswell Rd. Enjoyed it then and since this is a local chain with a location just north of KSU on Chastain Rd in close proximity the Mall, I suggested it as a spot for lunch. They were open to that as a suggestion so off we went. Very much like the Roswell Rd location with same décor, ambiance and feel Menu was very similar as well. Convenient and ample parking without the hassle of Mall Traffic. It was a breeze to get into and out of and parking was close to the door. Walked in and while they were busy, we were promptly seated and remember we have two boys ages 6 and 4 in tow plus a young lady in a stroller. Could be a bit of a rowdy crowd because the 4 yo started out with a rather loud chant, Mac and Cheese. Staff was tolerant which was good. Good prompt service and an interesting menu. We had a wide assortment of items to choose from and I can only speak for the items I had, my wife had or what the 4 yo had. Everyone else indicated they liked their order. I had the Tavern Burger, Medium Rare and it was perfect. My wife had the Steak Salad and really enjoyed it. The 4 yo got what he wanted and the picky eater cleaned his plate. It's a sports bar but still family friendly Good food and the service we had at this location and the one on Roswell Road was great. Would suggest for anyone to try. Granted I have only tried two and there are more, but would recommend either the Kennesaw or the Roswell Rd, Marietta GA locations to anyone read more
