Compliments to the chef! We came here on a Saturday night. First off, The staff was very accommodating. We had our 4-month old infant with us and they made an extra effort to make room for our stroller. We ordered the scallops crudo for our appetizer - two thumbs up! For our entrees, we had the short ribs and the half chicken. The serving size was decent, the taste was excellent. The meal was topped off with a sea salt caramel panna cotta. Mmmm. So delicious. Plus, they had a very attentive service crew. This was one of the best overall dining experiences I've had in Tucson! read more

As a resident of the neighborhood, we frequent Cielos for drinks and happy hour quite a bit. I can't speak to the dinner menu, as we tend to stick to the cheaper fare, but I can say this without hesitation: The service we have experienced in the bar has been excellent, and in particular I would like to thank Wes, who always goes out of his way to offer us impeccable service. The atmosphere is both elegant and relaxed, providing that "getaway" feeling even if you only plan to spend a few hours there. It seems that the owners have a constant eye for improving the space, the menu, and the experience. Keep up the great work and you will have a constant customer in us. read more

I made a Valentine's Day reservation for my girlfriend and I three weeks in advance. When we arrived, we were seated in a very odd and uncomfortable place toward the kitchen. We left without ordering because the menu was changed, and there was no mention online. I understand it is a holiday and adding COVID to top the cake, but meals that are $46+ is outrageous. We won't be visiting anytime soon because the atmosphere was disappointing compared to when we dined here in September. read more

Cielos - Had made guacamole what a great appetizer - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. Went here for my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. Great ambiance, amazing cocktails (get the monsoon margarita), and exciting takes on typical nice dining food options. Brandon was our waiter, and I can confidently say he was one of the best waiters I've had in years. He even ran our card out to us when we left it behind. Thanks for the great bday, guys! read more

We stopped into Cielos at the Lodge on the Desert for happy hour yesterday. Say out on the patio which was very comfortable. My husband had the margarita which was very good and I had the Grapefruit cosmo which was a perfect blend of deliciousness!! Cielos - We stopped into Cielos at the Lodge on the Desert for happy hour yesterday. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

We took a quick getaway to Tucson with our son and stayed at the Lodge on the Desert. We opted to stay on property for dinner and after reading the positive reviews was excited to dine at cielos. First everything was fine - ordered drinks, an appetizer, and placed our food order. About 20 mins passed, and our ten month old started to get a little fussy. We were wondering what was taking a while. Our waiter asked if we wanted bread only to never bring it. I took our son for a walk to calm him down and my husband and brother in law said that our waiter came by 2x to confirm the order. I started to become extremely upset- having a baby, this was our first time taking a trip and we wanting to enjoy a nice experience. I found someone who worked there and said we were having a service problem and she said she would grab a manager. No one did anything. By this time an hour had past and our waiter had not been back to our table - everyone else around us was being served except us. I couldn't help but cry at this point- our waiter clearly was avoiding us and it felt like our money was no good there. I asked again to speak to a supervisor and finally someone came to our table. It's been 90 minutes at this point. By this time, my brother in law left to put my son to sleep and my husband so frustrated left to join them. The supervisor explained there was a large party but I asked why everyone around us was being served and our waiter just stopped checking on us. Then the supervisor has the original waiter come back- I'm sobbing at this point- he asked "what can we do? We will box the food." It was a 100% amateur hour. Then finally he said "it's on the house"- of course, it should be a compensated. We were prepared to spend $200+ yet the level of service was so bad that it brought me to tears. And when we finally got our boxed food, it was THE WRONG ORDER. Easily, the worst dining experience I've ever had. read more

The food here is great and the bar service is wonderful, but the restaurant service is so poor it ruins the entire experience of dining here and makes you never wanna come back. If you're done in the restaurant, be prepared to have to get up from your table and go find your server to collect a glass of water. Yes, it's that bad. read more

Fantastic meal at Cielos last night. I knew it would be good after reading reviews here but really didn't know what to expect. I started with a vodka lemonade with muddled mint that was amazing. Then we tried the crab and cheese appetizer that was excellent (but maybe a little too filling before dinner). Next was a delicious spinach and pomegranate salad with a chipotle dressing My entree was seared Scallops with Cavier which was incredible. The presentation was exquisite and although it seemed like a smaller serving, I still couldn't finish my meal as it was so rich. My husband had the short ribs that fell off the bone. We ordered desert, again a scrumptious delight to the palate and eyes. The wine our server recommended paired nicely with both dishes. The service was impeccable and the owner even greeted us. We really enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back. . read more

Loved the prickly pear margarita and the stuffed green chili tamale... so good. Sat on the patio with lovely music playing. Good service. Thank you, Cielos for a wonderful meal. read more

Heads and shoulders above your typical hotel restaurant. Which is to say: it is not the very best restaurant in Tuscon, but it is very very good. Sometimes, when vacationing, you want cozy and easy, not challenging and gourmet. You're here to relax, right? You can eat here and not feel fleeced. You can get something v good to eat with EXCELLENT service. You will not get weird, ground-breaking ingredients or preparations. You will not get bragging rights in competitive foodie contests. You can eat in the bar (lighter fare and cheaper, still creative) or in the restaurant (full meals, full price tags). Both are v good. Both have warm, friendly staff. The dining room occupies a LOVELY space. Either way, you'll be more than ok!! read more

Everything served was perfection. The crab queso fundido, pork chop, pasta, chicken, and barramundi were all so different but balanced with absolute perfection. The bread was also so good. Impressive. read more

We came here due to the many positive reviews, however the service was poor and unfriendly and the food was extremely mediocre and left much to be desired. Worst burger ever though, it was dense, not even grilled, stale bun, not prepared as ordered, and we sent it back. Then thought I would be safe with the charred Brussel sprouts appetizer as my meal; weren't even charred in the slightest and were tasteless. Don't know how you can mess up a tamale but the green Chile tamale was charred black on the bottom, seemed to be deep fried, tasteless and was more like corn bread than a tamale. Clearly will not be returning. read more

Excellent food. Tables outside and well spaced . Staff was very responsive and wonderful venue.

Full disclosure this review is not about the food and drink offerings at this location. I have been there several times before and been very impressed with our meals. Last night was different. I attended a sponsored dinner with 16 people. We all arrived in about 15 min. The restaurant was expecting 12-14. The restaurant was only 1/4 full at the time. When we asked if the table could be made larger by moving any of the four adjacent empty tables over. The staff said this was not possible. I was in the group of two last arrivals. We were seated at one of those adjacent table but this was far enough away that we definitely were now not part of the group. The dinner's organizer was not satisfied with this as the dinner was to include a presentation of information that complemented the course that the participants were involved in over this weekend. At every attempt to address our needs with the staff the sponsor was rebuffed. The only option the staff provided was adding more chairs to the already tight table. "Great!, accepted." The participants made room. The two of us at the separate table were brought over and stood in the space created by our cohort for 5 min without chairs. The staff made no efforts to get us seated. It felt like they really were not expecting us to accept the offer to squeeze in. Finally our table sponsor got up and retrieved two chairs from the adjacent empty tables. Upon seating myself I heard the staff say behind me just a little louder than she probably thought, " oh and now we are rearranging furniture ". This did not feel very welcoming from a person in the hospitality sector. 20min after our self seating the two participants last seated (myself and one other) had not been even greeted, no water, no drink orders. However during that time they took second drink orders from rest of table as well as appetizers order. I have never felt so invisible in my whole life. It is the first time in 15 years I (and my table mate) got up, thanked our host at the table and left. We went 2 doors down to Locale and had a wonderful experience. My understanding after we left the staff apologized to the table host and desert was on the house. My experience though leaves me with this recommendation...Tucson is a foodie destination. Service is as much a part of the experience as the food itself...for my money, go someplace else. read more

What a treat Cielos was last night! We celebrated our anniversary there, dining fireside outdoors, under the stars, with our friends! It was so lovely! And the food was even better. We started with the crab chille relleno fundido, and that began a delightful evening! The ladies had the scallops, which were as wonderful as Tucson Foodie reported a year or so ago, and my husband had the pork chop, and the other fellow had salmon. They were all cooked perfectly! And dessert didn't disappoint....loved the "tacos" (yes, tacos!)....And all the tastes were scrumptious. read more

Wish I could give zero stars! Made a reservation for 12:00 pm on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we were told there was no seating available except for outside in the sun with no umbrella. It was 93 degrees, so this was not an option. Then was told they were seating people with reservations.... We had a reservation!!! Asked to speak to the manager and said he was waiting on two tables to open, to give him 15 minutes. He instructed us to wait in the bar area, but did not offer anything to drink for the inconvenience. Thirty minutes went by and we were still waiting. My mom went to the speak to the manager again and he said he was still waiting for a table to open up. We waited another ten minutes (40 minutes total) and decided to leave. My husband spent $30 on two margaritas , overpriced and should have been complimentary for the wait! Terrible service and almost put a damper on Mother's Day! Next time at least offer a drink and come check on the customer to let us know what's going on. Went to Denny's which we were greeted with a happy Mother's Day and had a better experience. read more

We had dinner at Cielo's Sept 8th and the experience was beyond bad. The food was so terrible it is indescribable. Yuck, Yuck, Yuck comes to mind! These were the thoughts of 4 individuals and because we didn't know each other very well, we didn't say anything to the waiter. We later discussed it and so I contacted Dave, the manager, who said he'd look into it and call me back BUT never did. Other issues include the bathroom having a very strong sewer gas smell, and I saw a cockroach on an outdoor sidewalk on my way into the restaurant. Be forewarned! read more

We had the pleasure of dining at Helio's on Saturday. The food, the service, and the ambience was wonderfully displayed. Amazing food amazing drinks amazing service! Great live music to top it all off perfect for a date night or nice dinner with the fam!

Lovely spot located on the grounds of the Lodge on the Desert. You can dine on the patio with a an outdoor fireplace under the stars in a quiet, romantic spot or indoors. This review is for happy hour, which is from 4-7 pm daily. They feature a nice selection of craft beers and cocktails like their house Margarita at half price. We dined on small plates including a delicious lamb taco and sweet corn cakes with crema. . Our server, Mena was knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. They feature fantastic gelato and other desserts. Also, on the weekends there is live music. There was an excellent acoustic guitar player. We are staying at the resort and highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant. They also have a full dinner menu and Sunday brunch. We will definitely be back soon to try other items in the menu and their signature cocktails. read more

Called this morning to make reservations for a Christmas brunch. Upon our arrival it was then specified that it was going to be a buffet (which I would never go to because hygiene purposes) however I was with my mother and did not want to delay our meal further. Most of the food was cold and lacked flavor. Here is the best part - we each had one plate of food, which of course doesn't matter when it is a buffet - and the meal was $150 dollars ! Normally I would never complain about the price but from the mediocre food and the waiters dressed like they work for ihop I was extremely disappointed. Also you would think that someone would have asked how's the food (especially when there was a whole piece of prime rib left on the plate). My mother was weary about this place because she came a year ago and got sick but I was insistent to give it another shot - moral of the story - DO NOT COME HERE - read more

Since 4.5 isn't an option, and I am in a good mood, I am rounding up! This was the first restaurant in Tucson that we, my husband and I, felt like we were totally satisfied, and want to come back for dinner. The food was great, and the outdoor patio was perfect (maybe the perfect weather of Tucson just made it better!). The Caesar salad was gorgeous and equally delicious. All of the food we had was just fantastic. The reason I would put it at 4.5 was the staff. Based on my feel of everything else at the restaurant, I expected a little more from the staff. I either felt rushed by them, or they were away from the table for too long; there wasn't a perfect balance. read more

This was my first time staying in Tucson. I was told that Cielos was a great place to eat! The food was the best around! I had their bar open a bottle of wine that I brought with me .... while my friend and I were waiting for a table. We had a glass before they called us to sit down. We entered the restaurant with our bottle of wine and glasses that they supplied..... as we had not finished it. We set it on the table and we're taking about our day... apx 20 mins had passed before a waitress showed up with water! then apx another 20 mins more had passed and a waiter showed up... stating in a not so nice manner that we were not supposed to have outside wine in their establishment.... We both said wow ok we didn't have any idea.... what would you like us to do? (He was not nice or polite in any way) He said he would take our wine away & give it back when we left! I said ok that was fine... my friend said that we could order more wine for the table if that's what we need to do! He took our bottle of wind and left! It was about 15 min after that that the waitress showed up again.... so we ordered food! We both sat and discuss what had just taken place & how we felt not just disrespected but embarrassed as we had no idea what their policies and procedures were for the restaurant...... We were happy and willing to do what ever .... we were hungry and wanted good food! I feel we were treated unkindly and with little to no respect! We ended up getting the food to go! And taking it back to our room. My overall review is that I felt I was treated with little respect and it's Unacceptable and I will no longer patronage this establishment. I hope that all women listen to this review and no longer visit this restaurant. tested positive for c...treat for bad customer service.... they will not allow me to erase anything... Went to an early dinner last Sunday evening. First time for me and I'd been so looking forward to what was supposed to be "fine dining". Service was not prompt. Seemed that we waiting a long time before anything happened. Once we ordered drinks, a small basket of 3 ripped slices of a white bread with butter was served. Bread had no flavor. Then we shared the grilled calimari which looked beautiful, but was so sweet that I only ate two bites. I ordered the sea scallops, my friend ordered the pork chops. We waited. When the dishes came, mine looked beautiful. The pork chop was served in a large deep bowl and looked like a pile of brown. My friend said it was delicious. My scallop dish was overwhelmingly sweet. The scallops were barely seared on each side, totally raw and cooler than room temp. They were nestled on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes, along with some garnishes. I ate two of the raw scallops and due to the rawness along with the excessive sweetness, I was disappointed and sad. It was not a good experience. read more

Decided to go to Cielos with my parents for Christmas dinner. In the end, I wish I hadn't. it has to rank as one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Made reservations through Open Table on 12-16. Received a call to confirm my reservation for Christmas at 530 PM, the next day. Inquired about the menu offered. They said they had the Christmas buffet for $55, as well as the regular dinner menu. Great, she you on Christmas. Next day received ANOTHER call confirming my reservation for Christmas at 530 PM. Then on 12-22 I get a call from Lynn saying that they will now be seating the last tables at 400 PM as they all want to "go home to spend time with their families on Christmas". Ok, great. Adjusted our reservation to 400 PM. Christmas morning another call from Cielos. It was Lynn just wanting to let me know that they cant seat me at 530 due to the restaurant closing early. Starting to wonder how Cielos functions when they cant even get their communication straight? So, Christmas day...drive to the restaurant. Have to wait in a line of about 6 people at the front desk, as it seems the hostess is having a problem seating people due to dirty tables and tables not prepped. Had to wait about 15 minutes for my "400 PM" reservation. After being seated, guess who is our server? Lynn. I expressed my frustration to her about the whole reservation issue. Probably shouldn't have as that is when everything went downhill from there. She talked about the buffet and that we could help our selves when we were ready. I inquired about the dinner menu, and was told it was only the buffet for $55.00. I told Lynn what I was told over the phone about the additional dinner menu. She said someone told me the wrong information, take or leave it. We decided to stay as we had no other choice about getting seated somewhere else on Christmas. WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT RIGHT THEN AND THERE, AS EVEN McDonald's WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. The buffet was in a room that was dimly lit and not very festive. Several of the entrees were either cold or drying out. Many of the dishes were the tail end of what was offered. When we got back to the table, Lynn asked how everything was. I told her I was disappointed because the food was either cold, dried out or very little left. She looked at me and went "Hmmm". No "I'll get the Manager for you", or "Sorry to hear that, well take something off your bill". Nothing. Then when the bill came, they put on a MANDATORY 22% for a tip. This really was pitiful, as Lynn was not even worth a third of that. After I told her of my concerns about the whole reservations fiasco, she was like a ghost to our table, knew she was in the restaurant but never saw her. This was the first and LAST time I will "dine" at Cielos. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Do yourself a BIG favor, avoid this place like the plague! HORRIBLE! read more

I usually don't add reviews. The food was ok, not great and not bad. Avoid sitting at the bar, very rood and aloof "Chris".

Picture this: Christmas Day, 9 of you in the cars ready to go. You call to confirm the reservation you made 4 weeks ago. You're told sorry we finished serving dinner at 4pm. You have the name of the person who took your reservation and the time was 6pm. You're in trouble because it's Christmas and you have 9 people. You're assured the manager, David, will call you the next day. The only place that can take you costs you $220 more for your group (and you're spending this on 6 teens) AND the 9 of you have to eat at 3 tables. Of course, you take it because you have no choice. Then you wait for that call. Wait. Silence. You call the next day and are assured by the same poor guy that the manager David will definitely call you. It's 2 weeks later and nothing. Wow. Beyond belief. I would suggest NOT eating here unless you like possibly going hungry. read more

Easter brunch was awful. 38$ a person plus a 20% service fee that the hostess never told me about when I called and asked how much the price was. Not one person said happy Easter to us, the hostess was rude, and I saw my server one when she brought me one cup of water. On top of that, the food was just sad. It consisted of those mini microwaveable waffles, store bought Walmart cookies as the only desert option, and some weird egg taco things and bagels (with no toaster might I add). There was no regular eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, omelet bar or anything els you would expect on a Sunday brunch. Everyone was unhappy and drinks were not even included. Will NEVER return. Biggest waste of money imaginable. I spent $100 for 2 people and it was worth about $15 from Walmart. read more
