Great food. Wonderful ambience. Friendly staff. We came to visit our family in Tucson and had a lovely dinner together here on their magical patio. Best tamales I have ever had...and I have had a lot of them! Highly recommend. read more

We held a retirement dinner here for about 30 people. The Manager, David, and staff were wonderful to work with and very helpful. Not only did David arrange for us to use a beautiful and more private room with a fireplace, but he also gave us personalized menus. The service was timed correctly and very friendly. My salmon dish with risotto was very tasty and others enjoyed their dishes. Only positive comments from our party!! Nice job! read more

The service was awful! They forgot one of my drinks, the waitress had to be reminded of everything. She brought the check before she even asked if we wanted desert. The pasta was not prepared correctly and sauce was too thick and not flavorful. Thankfully the shrimp was good. read more

I had to come here for a family dinner experience and sad to say they had nothing for vegan food except a salad or fries. It's 2022 not 2002. Let's get more sustainable and cater to those who care about the environment. So disappointed but the drinks were good at least. read more

My husband and I took a dear friend to Cielo's for lunch on Sunday. We hadn't been there for some time (not sure why), and we were all blown away by the food and the service. We had the Green Chile Tamales (to die for), the Short Ribs (from the appetizer menu), and a Crab dish, also from the appetizer menu. All the dishes were perfection, and the two appetizer portions were huge - they could have been entrees. To top it off, the server was perfection - I wish I could remember her name. We all had a great time and plan to go there again soon! Highly recommend - It's a secret gem in Tucson and the patio is beautiful. read more

Fantastic! I was so pleasantly surprised. My husband decided to give this place a chance and we enjoyed everything we had. I ordered the lamb chops and they were amazing! I couldn't believe they were only $17!! My husband had the pork chops. Absolutely delicious! I would return in a heartbeat! read more

Absolutely wonderful experience at this place for our first time. The staff on every level was kind, accommodating and helpful. The manager who I interacted with Dave was the epitome of an outstanding person and runs a very tight ship. The atmosphere is intimate, clean and the food was excellent! The service was beyond exceptional! Would recommend anybody try this place! read more

Awesome food! Awesome service! Stayed at Lodge of the Desert and walk over to the restaurant. We were impressed with the overall presentation of the food, great service from our server Ian, delicious food. Fajita Skewers is sooooo good!!! Ribeye is one of best we had, love the chimichurri that comes with it. Glazed Salmon is perfectly cooked. Even the recommended red wine and dessert - creme brûlée didn't disappoint. Very impressed. Chef and server did a great job! read more

Overall our meals were tasty but not special. This restaurant has a nice atmosphere on the patio (the inside seating is nothing special) which has a fireplace and heat lamps. I went here on Christmas Day with my family and there was a set menu ($50). The set menu gave generous "family style" portions of the main dishes (all meat, no vegetarian options on the menu), but they gave shockingly small "family style" plates of sides including stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green beans and they did not offer to bring out additional sides once the table was running low. If you like traditional thanksgiving-style dinners, this is the place for you, but for $50, the flavors in the dishes were not particularly unique. Also you must be a big meat eater to enjoy this meal! It would have been nice if the restaurant would have provided at least one fish and/or vegetarian option as an entree on the set menu. Overall, i would not recommend this place. read more

Thanksgiving dinner with the family with a giant fail, Hell's Kitchen and Gordon Ramsay would have a hay day at this turkey dinner failure. Slow-roasted turkey was a slow-roasted turkey chub or turkey roll, food was lukewarm and first, we got served ham instead of turkey and it was more like a salt lick than actual turkey roasted on the bone. the wait staff was stretched thin and were overworked. read more

Yes awesome yummy . Had lunch with my brother , we had a great experience . Good service and great food too

I wanted to go to a nice place for my birthday with my family, and this place really stood out to me from the pictures of the food and decor. It is tucked away from the outside world which helps create their own atmosphere. The decorations and furniture are great quality, which isn't something I notice very often but anyone would when you see it in person! The wait to be seated was a bit long because the staff was so busy, even though the restaurant wasn't even half packed, and the wait to get our food was quite long as well. However, the wait was very worth it. I got the green Chili tamales, my sister got the lodge pasta, and my dad got the club sandwich. Everything tasted incredible, and so flavorful it makes the rest of the world look gray! We shared almost everything because everything was so good, and great sizes too! We also ordered the carrot cake for dessert and that came quite fast even though the kitchen was closing their lunch time. It is on the pricy side but good worth. The bathrooms are also very nice, and they have feminine products in the ladies room! I highly recommend for a special occasion lunch! read more

We ate dinner twice here during our stay. Food, drinks, and service were amazing. We chose to dine Al fresco and the patio is beautiful and romantic. The fountain provides ambience and privacy. read more

Probably the most flavorful and delicious dinner I've had in years. Absolutely loved it. I think this place is a hidden gem. Beautiful ambience and fantastic service. I can't wait to go back! read more

Great food and Ian was a great server! All his recommendations were spot on! Totally recommend this restaurant and ask for Ian!

This place is a gem, the atmosphere is so inviting and the food and drinks were awesome! I have to mention, might have preferred sitting on the patio, but we had a bigger party and those tables only sit 4. Definitely make a reservation for this place! read more

I'm not sure why I never reviewed this restaurant as we are regulars at the adjoining Lodge on the Desert. Frankly, I have never had a bad meal (usually some sort of salad) and the prickly ear margaritas are the perfect ending to a warm day. I must say, my favorite meal is the free breakfast one gets when staying at the lodge. Not just because it's "free" but it's actually quite good. We look forward to the homemade muffins and white usually try to barter for the second one with hubby, he always refuses. He also makes fun of me for ordering the oatmeal. I know it sounds weird compared to other choices like a spinach omelet with sausage and potatoes, but Cielos is the only oatmeal I will eat--creamy served with dried cranberries or raisins and brown sugar. It almost feels like dessert in the morning. I must say that whether we are just having drinks or a meal, service has always been friendly, attentive, and efficient. We really like this place! read more

The best House Margaritas in town. I tried a few of the other drinks on the menu but I kept going back to the house Margarita. Food is on point here!!! read more

We stayed at the Lodge on the Desert, and it was delightful. After a long day's drive, we really didn't want to go anywhere to eat, so we thought we'd Cielo's a try. We were afraid we were settling for "hotel food", but it wasn't worth the effort to leave the lodge. They claim to be the best dining in Tucson, which prompted some skepticism on our part, until we had dinner there. and as it turns out they are probably right. I had the Lodge Pasta which was a nice bed of seashell pasta with a tomato, roasted poblano, and queso fresco sauce. I didn't ask for the optional chicken breast or shrimp, having just the pasta dish. The chef dropped by our table and told us this was the recipe his mother prepared for him countless times when he was growing up. I'm a little jealous that he'd had that dish so often! It was delightful, bursting with rich flavors. Beth had the Pan-Seared Barramundi. She has been asking me ever since to try to re-create it! The fish was served with sweet potatoes, fava beans, Spanish chorizo, and Pipian sauce. The fish was incredibly tender and flavorful. Tucson has been declared an international city of gastronomy. If Cielo's is a good example, I'd love to spend a few weeks there! read more

Four of us had an exceptional dinner on the lovely shaded patio of Cielos. All the food was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and crafted with interesting seasonal ingredients. The barramundi, perfectly cooked with crispy skin and tender flesh was a standout ! This is our new choice for fine , but unpretentious dining. read more

If only we had known! Our families holiday buffet dinner was a huge disappointment. Reservations for 3pm. We have previously enjoyed dining here and so figured their buffet would be nice. Not so. A few low lights: At $55 per person, NO BEVERAGE INCLUDED, just water. Food was mediocre and many items we tried were deemed just awful. Aside from the water refills, servers were inattentive. We had to flag someone down to clear away plates and to summon our (surly) waiter for coffee ($3 per person). The topper was a 20% service fee tacked on the bill. We are always decent about tipping servers, even for buffet but found this bizarre. This event leaves me unable to consider returning here just as a matter of principle. read more

Our dinner was a great experience! Cielos has a creative and interesting menu - not overwhelming with a nice variety of choices. They offer unique craft cocktails including a Sonorla Martini and a nice wine selection. I'm a purist when it comes to martinis but the "Sonoran" was amazing! Ben brought us bread with olive oil and balsamic to start and we shared 3 dishes and all served to us on separate plates! Nice touch! We totally enjoyed their Southwest Caesar Salad, the Lamb Chop appetizer and the Pan-seared Scallops. The service was perfect - attentive but not hovering and very friendly. We were there for my birthday and Ben offered us the choice of a dessert on the house! We aren't dessert people but enjoyed their take on a lemon bar dessert (not overly sweet) with berries - just right! We will be back when we return to Tucson! read more

I came here with my family for Easter brunch. The food was mediocre, and the way the buffet was set up was illogical. There was also a lack of choice of breakfast items. We had been seated at a table that the staff apparently needed for a party of six coming in... and we were highly aware of that. The waitstaff circled us while talking loudly about wanting us to hurry up, and rushed us through our meal. If they needed our table, they should have communicated that to their hostess and she should have seated us elsewhere. To top it all off, the drinks were not included and there was a 20% service fee tacked onto the bill, and a line on the receipt for added gratuity on top of that - for a buffet, which required minimal effort on the part of our server. My parents chose this place because they had been there for a meal several years previously and had a lovely experience. After the mediocre food and poor customer service, we will not be returning. read more

It is a nice place seating at the patio but the foods were just ok the staffs are very friendly even it was super busy that night and super cold we did asked to move out table indoor and they did for us. read more

Gorgeous outdoor area for eating and drinking. Food is average for Tucson. Our meal was 30 min late. Recommend checking it out

One of the best foods I've had in Tucson, amazing selection of cocktails and just a very exquisite ambiance to whole place. A bit pricy food, but worth every penny! read more

Super special dining experience! I came here with my mother and niece for my nieces birthday, and it was spectacular! We sat outside and enjoyed the lights strung all about. The menu is amazingly creative. Our server gave fantastic recommendations from their famous margarita to the charred octopus appetizer. My niece and I had a most delicious short rib. My mother enjoyed a perfectly cooked Sonoran salmon. There is something for everyone here, and the flavors will not disappoint! read more

Great restaurant with a nice wide open patio open during COVID! They have a cute fire and heaters. Food was yummy ( we came on christmas eve so they had a limited menu) and their margaritas are fantastic! definitely get the prickly pear margarita. our food came out cold at first but they kindly took 15% off our check. would recommend! read more

Cielos - prickly pear margarita by the fire - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Wonderful!! We recently stayed at Lodge on the Desert and enjoyed breakfast at Cielos. We found ourselves back there for happy hour enjoying a Monsoon margarita-yummy-and ordered off the bar menu for dinner. Wonderful burger for my guy and I had the crab stuffed chili relleno. Yes, it was fabulous. Wonderful staff from waiters to the delightful bartender. Will put this on our "we'll be back" list. read more

Had the opportunity to take advantage of Exec Chef Miguel Heredia's menu in the for of a chef's table of sorts. From the crab relleno fundio to the cake sampler with fresh berries and some sort of magical sauce, and everything in between I was truly amazed! It's a good thing I took a bong rip before I got there SHIT! The second course was beef short ribs and fresh cut fries with a sweet chili type glaze which was legit AF! Third course was a pan seared Barramundi with figs lardons and mixed root types of veggies which was very light and perfect for summer food cravings! We should all be so lucky to have guys like this as a personal friend as well as former colleague! Miguel had really come into his own and takes no prisoners in his culinary adventures as he had proved time and time again such as winning the best bite and margarita in the 2019 world Margarite Championship! Keep up the good work and thanks again for an exquisite lunch with my mom! read more

A belated 30y anniversary celebration, hubby and I spent a weekend at the adjacent lodge (the Lodge on the Desert.) Saturday night, we came to Cielos for dinner. It was a little chiily, so we opted to be seated in the bar. It was just one another patron and us, ideal for social distancing! It was cozy and quiet. Wes (the bartender) promptly greeted us and took our order. Hubby wanted to try a good margarita and Wes suggested a top-shelf tequila which made hubby very happy. We had the rainbow trout for dinner and it was tender and delicious. We were thinking we might need to come back Sunday night We returned for dinner the next evening. Hubby ordered a martini to start and Wes did not disappoint. When it was time to order food, we were hungrier so we had octopus tentacles as appetizer, pork chop and grilled scallops as entrees. The octopus and scalops were fork tender, we did not need knives. But I did cut them just so I would not wolf it down too fast. Hubby's pork chop was done just right and full of flavor. We both agree all the food we have tried were wonderful and worth coming back for. We hope to return, perhaps when all the pandemic mess is done, to enjoy the great food and drinks properly. read more

Great service and incredibly beautiful outdoor dining. Even on a hot day, they cool you off with cool mist machines. Ahh. The food was just okay -- my pork was overdone. But it was a good experiences overall. I'd go back to try other dishes -- and for the lovely outdoor patio dining area. read more

Came to Tucson for a night getaway. Found Lodge on the Desert with Cielos restaurant attached. The outside part of the restaurant is very inviting. The bar area is clean and comfortable, but seriously $10 for a drink in a plastic cup is a bit much! I get it, resort style place always is pricey, but the price is not matching the drink. I also find the complimentary breakfast falling short. Again, it's a great idea to offer this to guests, but not everyone eats spicy food...especially for breakfast. It's either a spicy dish or oatmeal that was just plain horrible. Rethink maybe some french toast or scrambled eggs. The breakfast was a total disappointment. I'm sure from watching other tables, they are throwing more food away than being eaten by their guest. read more

The restaurant had live music amplified so loud we had to shout so conversation could not take place. Next, we were presented with a menu that looked delicious. When served, the dinners were cold. The guacamole for $12 consisted of a measly 1/2 cup and chips which were cold and hard. The Drinks were passable thus earning one star. Next, when the meal was served, all of the meat dishes we ate including: chicken, pasta, two steaks and pork included extremely cheap cuts. The "steak" was served cold and hard to cut and unrecognizable at $36 a plate, next the chicken was covered with tiny lentils and an unrecognizable sauce at $27. It consisted of a chicken leg attached to a thigh and had not been separated. It was extremely tough and so inedible It was left uneaten. Next, the pork dish at $28 was inedible and whatever it was served with remained on the plate. The pasta dish at $25 had sauce which was like chicken broth and it had two tiny pieces of toast to sop up a huge amount of liquid. Although on the menu, there was no cilantro, red chili flakes or cheese in the dish although advertised on the menu. Thus, we were all disappointed both by the cheap ingredients used, and also by the vaping one guitar player who failed to sing quietly as expected, thus ruining an expensive meal and totally ruining a birthday celebration. read more

*BEWARE* Buffet prices here are steep. It's fixed price, $70/plate including a mandatory service charge. On the plus side, they were open on Christmas, and the outdoor dining is lovely. On the negative side, almost all the food in the buffet was terrible. We tried the beef roast, ham, goose, omelet, Mexican rice, potatoes, green beans, fresh fruit, and olives. The beef roast, potatoes, and olives were good, the rest were just bad. The rice was nearly inedible. The goose half grisle. The beans nearly puree they were so overcooked. They only offered the buffet for Christmas, so we didn't have a chance to try their freshly prepared food - maybe that would have been better. All-in-all, for $70/plate, I really expected better. We ate the previous day (Christmas Eve) at a restaurant where the food cost half as much and was delicious, so good holiday dining options are available in Tucson. My suggestion is to try somewhere else (particularly if Cielos is serving the buffet). read more

I am not a big dining out person and when I do I usually prefer someplace super casual like Barrio Brewing or Seis in the Mercado, but I went to Cielos with some out of towners and had the best lamb chops I've ever had in my life. I don't even know what a persimmon is, but the pepita salsa under the lamb chops was out of this world. The server said the lamb chops are usually cooked medium well but I asked for them to be more like medium rare... definitely the right choice! Also a charming outdoor seating area with heaters. Funny that this little hidden gem is tucked in by Target and Reid park. read more

Stayed at the hotel with the restaurant, couldn't get a reservation. Sat at the bar. Took at least an hour to get food. I ordered steak and it was over cooked and had no flavor. The other option was cafeteria lasagna which tasted like they made 2 days ago.
