I finally tried this place out after months of debating. I'm a huge fan of Chevy's and I thought this place might be a good substitute. The waitress was very good but the food just meet my expectations. I had the chicken fajitas, it was bland and the chicken was dry. My second visit omit Chuy's on my business travels. It is hard to find good TexMex but this place is excellent. I guess it is a chain out of Austin but it is really good. Homemade flour tortillas and the jalapeño cream sauce is to die for. Chicken Tortilla soup was chuck full of chicken and veggies, excellent! If you know sign language, this is a good option. Otherwise, drink too much and shout like the rest of the patrons. This place is for tourons. Very cheesy and not special in any menu category. My wife and I went here for lunch, first off let me say this rating is not based on our waitress. She was very nice and helped us with the menu since it was our first time. Our biggest issue was the food, everything is absolutely horrible, from the complimentary chips (which you can literally see light through because they are so thin) to some of the worse queso we've ever had, even their salsa was full of water and had little to no flavor. We both ordered fajitas I like mine spicy and my wife doesn't. So when the food comes my wife's fajitas were loaded with onions but no peppers or anything else, so of course I thought when mine comes it's going to be loaded with onions, peppers and be awesome. But when mine came it barely had no onions and like 2 barely cooked pepper rings. So then I got a tortilla to start building my fajita, they have the absolute WORST tortillas I've ever had, they are thick enough to called bread and they are coated in flour grains that stick all over your hands and make you feel like your going to choke because it's so excessive. Their refried beans taste like they are straight out of a can and absolutely disgusting and the rice was cold and gummy. The meat for the fajitas has 0 flavor, I swear they don't even put salt on it. It tasted like my guacamole accidentally had salt poured on it, but at least the sour cream was good, I used it to coat the meat from the fajitas to make it edible. I highly recommend going to a different Mexican restaurant, this one is one of the worst I've ever been to. read more

Love Chuy's food and eat there often but was absolutely shocked when I went in today to pick up Chips, guac, queso and some creamy jalapeno for cinco de mayo and the girl came back with the food and said $22. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? $22 for chips and dips!? I was shocked and paid her because I was already there and needed the food but I am literally flabbergasted. This Texan is tickled pink for their arrival! Having gone to UT (that's The University of Texas to the uninitiated) though some years prior to the opening of Chuy's in Austin, I have been a fan since they opened about 25 yrs ago. The food is good, the atmosphere is a HOOT (Elvis is the patron saint), staff is extraordinary! For those who imbibe, their drinks are fresh (not from mixes), there is Texas beer (Shiner Bock) along with others. Chuy's is a welcomed addition to this area and I look forward to possible restaurant in Cincinnati itself!!! read more

There is a first time and a last time for everything. This will be my last time I eat here. Walked in and I was hopeful they served authentic Mexican food, seeing they had an area where they made what they call homemade tortillas. Food was over priced, service was slacking, and you get your silverware in a envelope that says it's been sterilized for our safety. I guess the Ebola scare has them on edge. Now for the food it looked good until you ate it. The only taste you get is spice and nothing more (it's one thing to be Spicy, it's another to mask every taste with spice). I went with my father for lunch since we were in the area. He has been there before, but this was my first time. It is nice that you get chips and salsa for free. It seems that a lot of Mexican restaurants you have to pay for it. The salsa was amazing. I wish you could buy some to take home. The chips were perfect. I ended up getting a bloody mary, since I am obsessed with them. When I saw it on the menu and the price, I had to get one. I was not disappointed at all. My dad got their special and he was happy with it. To be honest, I can not remember what he had. I had their chicken soft taco and I was surprise on how much food you got. You build your taco your self, which is a little different, but it worked out. The guacamole was ok, I had better but then I have had worse. Our waitstaff was meh. Our waitress was sitting at a booth behind us talking to some one she knew. That seem very unprofessional and that is why I did not give it a higher star. She was fine at her job, but you could tell she would rather be at the booth talking to her friend then actually serving her tables. The decor is a bit over the top but I LOVE those tortilla ladies (yes, they are part of the decor). On top of that- when I called to complain they made me explain what happened to three different people before I even got to speak to a manager who I had to explain everything to as well. Great restaurant.... very clean, I mean even the restrooms are spic and span. My server basically brought us everything we asked for, refilled the drinks at least 3 times during the meal, and brought refills on salsa and chips as well. I wanted an extra plate for my meal and she brought that out too. The food was cooked well. I ordered a chicken taco with rice and refried beans. The chicken was moist and tender. I always think refried beans taste bland, but Chuy's had some sort of unique flavor. I also order a tres leche cake for dessert....it was a taste of heaven on earth.
