The salad is plenty big enough to fill you at lunch. It comes in a bowl with greens,, roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese (my favorite), roasted sunflower seeds, chips and more. I absolutely love this place, but it's a bit inconvenient for me. However, today reminded me how much I like it. They have a great variety of food choices and seem to do well with both bar and their Asian fusion choices. My friend and I ordered a variety of each. Looks like a sports bar from the outside with its open doors so you can look right in but surprisingly we've been ordering sushi ! Last night was the third time here in three weeks, and each time we've ordered the same things. Historically I've ordered a burger or the salmon but for some reason.... Last night we had Bekks (Bekka) who was outstanding. We arrived shortly before 6 and shortly before the place was packed with people waiting to eat, but Bekks continuously checked on us and was super friendly and professional. We had steamed chicken dumplings ( you can get chicken, pork or beef, fried or steamed) with their accompanying "aqua sauce", which was on the spicy side this time. An order of a Boston roll ( basically standard salmon) and a rainbow roll completed our meal. Fish was fresh and both rolls were tasty. No drink for me last night, but I did have a Lake Day Spritz the other day which was very light and refreshing, and quickly enjoyed. Always great service here at Drakes. I used to live in the area and used to come here all the time so it's nice to visit again. All the people I once knew have come and gone. I had the 60 oz beer because for $7 a beer having 3 would have cost me $21. But going for the 60 oz for $16 only made more sense. My choice of appetizer was the chips with salsa, and cheese sauce on the side. For my entree I went with the blue burger. I love the amount of crumble blue cheese they give you and trust me it's a hefty burger. My girlfriend had the fried fish and she was not able to finish it all. So I've driven past this location which is in a strip mall in Florence. It simply says "Drake's" and I wondered what it was. I wasn't sure if it was a store, restaurant or something else entirely. It turns out it was a bar and grill so here we are. They have a really big menu of both bar food as well as sushi which I found unusual for a bar but also exciting. We started with some pretzels and cheese sauce as well as horseradish mustard. The pretzels were warm and delicious as was the cheese sauce. The mustard was 99% yellow mustard and 1% horseradish which was a little disappointing (I love a good horseradish mustard and this wasn't it). We also split some sushi including a crab rangoon roll which I especially loved. We liked the sushi so much that since this visit we actually had some Door Dashed to our house. For my main course I got a Fried Bologna Sandwich which came topped with swiss and mayo (also lettuce and tomato but I had it left off). An excellent version of this kind of sandwich as I would say only Monk's Kitchen does the fried bologna sandwich better of the one's I've had. The tater tots were good as well. The service was super good here and the restaurant looked really good (definitely bigger than you'd think judging by the outside.) Been to Drake's several times before and it's typically where I stop for lunch when I'm in Florence. They have great smash burgers as well as other delicious items (I like the fish tacos). My go-to is the Juicy Lucy - two mini burgers with a garlic aioli. They say they're mini, but they're still very filling. I really like the sweet potato fries, but they're more known for their side of tots. They also have sushi, which may sound weird for a burger place, but it is genuinely good. If you're a sushi snob maybe not, but if you're a novice like me you'll really like it. They have a sushi chef specifically to make it. Atmosphere is very much sports bar. I've been here with my girlfriend and some friends a couple times now. Drake's is normally SUPER packed especially on the weekends, but I've been lucky enough to sneak in at some non-peak times to really experience the place. The ambiance is chill - open air flow during the summer when they open the "garage doors" leading to the outdoors seating, nice branding and aesthetic on the inside, very inviting environment that is unique to the Florence area in my opinion. I've had their chicken quesadilla and their Crab Rangoon sushi role. The chicken quesadilla was pretty good - typical standard quesadilla that is on their menu as an appetizer but could easily be a meal for one person. You can never go wrong with the quesadilla. The crab rangoon role is a star of the show. This unique, warm sushi role is just a delight and something I occasionally randomly crave from time to time. If you're a fan of rangoons you'll definitely love this take on the classic dish. They have a full menu of other goodies and some great drink selections as well as specials they offer that are constantly being switched to new offerings. So I tried it.. While on a work trip in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area my stomach grew hungry for vittles. So I headed over to @drakescomeplay to see what we heard was amazing food. I can with a party if 6 and was excited we were able to seated quickly. The atmosphere does give me pub or diner bar. There were two sides from what I could see and both areas had a bar. This BBQ Burger was layered with pepper Jack cheese, bacon, crispy onion straws, honey jalapeño bbq with fresh cut toppings. The smash burger are fresh griddled seared Pattie's were amazing. Being walking distance from the hotel I went back for dinner. This time the server forgot about me after bringing my water. I went to the bathroom and everything was cleared off my table. Still one of my favorite places to go for sushi even if it's a bar! I had my kids with me and we were able to find something that we all liked. I forgot how much I LOVE the tater tots and sliders! We got there right when they opened and by the time we went to leave the place was packed! Definitely a popular spot to eat and drink.
