I love the atmosphere here. It is really beautiful and I do like the Mexican music they play. The employees here are extremely friendly and welcoming. The salsa that comes with the chips is spicy, but not too spicy. The enchiladas problanas is very good; it's my go-to every time I come here. It's taco Tuesday! I've been thinkin about tacos all day! We went to Rancho Grande today. It was dead - but probably normal for 4pm. Just like most authentic mexican restaurant it smells like bleach or cleaner of some sorts. The salsa was good. Way better than El Nopal! The chips were burnt and hard. The menu is huge lots to choose from. I asked the waiter if there was a taco Tuesday special and he looked at me like I was nuts and said no.Not very friendly - but whatever. Came here Friday night, we got seated right away. The hostess was very nice and friendly, however our waiter did not seem to thrill to serve us. He took a very long time to come get our order, and when he brought the plates he didn't bother to ask if anything else was needed. Also, he came back with the tortillas when we we're almost done eating. We both ordered camarones a la diabla, sadly they were not tasty at all. This place is horrible!!! I wish I could give 0 stars!!! Off my opinion, their service is not very nice and they yell at customers. I went with my family and our table was shaking plus the table was very small for the menus to fit. When we got our drinks, dip, and chips, it wouldn't even fit. So we asked to change tables and they let us. After that our chips and menu were at the other table and one of the waitresses told us what we want to order for our main course. We said that how can we order if our menus are at the other table. He said why don't you get the menus and your chips and other things. We said why do we carry our things and bring them to our table. We would basically look like idiots. Then he started yelling at us and we said we don't want to eat. We didn't t even pay and then left because he said if you want to eat then stay or get out. Really good food at a reasonable price. My hubby LOVES to come here and eat, since it's so close to our house and the man is a Mexican food fiend. The staff is also very nice and friendly. We come here periodically to eat, so my hubby can get his Mexican food fix. This is the "real thing" and NOT Taco Bell! If you want a "mom and pop" type place to eat sometime, here's a good place to eat for that -- they are ran by a family and I don't think that they're a chain. read more

I've eaten here twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times my experience was very good. The wait staff is very nice and they make sure you have everything very quick. My daughter loves the piñatas all over the ceiling! I am a chimichanga addict so I usually always order them. I usually only get chicken but my friend got beef so I tried it and loved it. So great news- no matter what chimichanga you get it's going to be delicious. This place is also very inexpensive! For lunch my total with tip was $10.60 and dinner for two people plus drinks it was $32 with tip. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the location. It is set way off of 27 next to White Castle, just takes away from the restaurant itself. But I highly recommend going to this place for dinner or lunch, quick service and very reasonable prices. read more

Got the burrito, enchiladas, and T-Bone with shrimp, all of it was so salty we couldn't even finish. Steak was significantly over cooked.

The personnel and staff here are super friendly & helpful. Very attentive to our needs although it was a slow period of the day. We went on a Thursday afternoon between lunch and dinner hour. Took advantage of a coupon we had for Happy hour which started at 3 pm. And the Margarita special of $3.99 was from 3-6 pm. This Strawberry Margarita was amazingly concocted. The tequila was smooth and abundantly added to this cocktail. Very yummy taste. The food was steaming hot and really well prepared. I asked for my fajitas without bell pepper and they accommodated that request easily. I was happy to know they also carry the Coke Zero that I love. The only negative comments I could add would be suggest they give you more beans and guacamole. Barely enough to add to the 3 fajitas I made. There was however tons of meat ( enough to fill 5+ of their 6" tortillas. Also the tortilla chips they serve at the beginning are nothing to write home about. They were crisp but lacked flavor and salt. Not freshly made. Salsa very good. Not too hot. The overall dining area is very culturally decorated and they play Mexican music (a little too loud) as well as TVs on the walls. We will get back. read more

Good food. Great drink specials. Very nice bar and decor. Sign up to get text messages when they have specials - generally on Monday (15-30% off) and Thursdays ($2 margaritas). Good salsa. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed with the food or drinks. WARNING: I have several female friends who have made comments to me stating that a certain server (likely the same one; I've experienced one in particular doing it twice) was hitting on them on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, always when they were by themselves without any males. On one occasion, my girlfriend was being hit on by a server before I showed up, and after I arrived gave us poor service, strange looks, and quite an attitude for literally no reason. Very weird. The experience was so bad that we gave him a $0.35 tip; the server chased us to our car as we were leaving to give it back. Weird, huh? Get rid of this bad apple, this is unacceptable - no one wants a creep with their food. Previously 4 star, now 1 star. I'll change my review when I know this guy is no longer working here. UPDATE: I have not seen the server in question over my previous few visits. I was considering taking away the 1 star, but had a rather bad experience on St. Patrick's Day here. My group sat at the bar and had a couple drinks before heading home, and there was an awful sewer smell that permeated the area surrounding the bar. The people I was with swore off the restaurant and said they were never coming back again. Another group at the bar commented on it as well. I will probably come back for the margarita and chimi specials, and definitely never sitting at the bar again, but this place really has to improve its sanitation. read more

Just ordered from this place via door-dash. Amazingly, the food was at my door about 25 minutes after I pressed the "place order" button. I ordered the shrimp cocktail which was cold, fresh, and very tasty. One of the best mexican shrimp cocktails that I have had in the area. It was also huge. I ordered a couple of hard beef tacos which were fine though I really think they need to up the spices in the ground beef. It was extremely under-spiced for taco meat. Finally, I ordered the enchilada verde and it was very tasty. They also included chips and salsa in the order. All in all it was a very good experience and I will undoubtedly order from Rancho Grande again. read more

My family loves going to El Rancho Grande. Their salsa and chips are always fresh. Service is usually pretty decent. I've had a few different dishes that were all very good but, they were also just standard Mexican restaurant style dishes. BUT, the Especialidad Rancho Grande fajitas for 2 is awesome. It's loaded with beef, chorizo, shrimp, chicken, 2 large pieces of carne asada, peppers, and onions. It's served with sour cream, pico de gallo, rice, beans, and soft tortillas. It's $25.99, but will seriously feed 4 grown adults and 3 kids! It's probably close to 4-5 lbs of food, maybe a bit more. My husband and I learned that the first time we ordered it. We couldn't even eat through a third, so we took the rest home to my parents and daughters, whom had a full meal from it. It's definitely worth every penny. It's a good meal for a group of friends or a big family to share. read more

Service was "ok". Food was fair. But the milk I ordered for my one and two year old grandsons was ROTTEN. The smell of it made me almost vomit. I asked to what it was poured from to check the expiration date. They "conveniently" couldn't find it and said they threw it out. The manager would not speak to me and sent an underling. Terrible. It was so rotten that I had to throw both sippy cups away. Serving something THAT rotten to children should alarm us all. What else is expired in their kitchen that they are serving to the public, no doubt covered in salsa or queso so it isn't noticed! I won't be going there any time soon. How have I never written a review for this place? We often visit here and come back for a reason. The staff is always polite and friendly. The food is a little bit more than down the street but the quality of food makes up for it. It's never busy here so you get a nice quiet experience when you eat here. The staff is friendly and the food is good, but that's when they get your order correct. We have gone here for years and gotten takeout. We have used their online ordering system, called in carry-out orders, and even utilized DoorDash. It doesn't matter how we order our takeout, the order is incorrect 4 out of 5 times. This was the WORST Mexican dining experience I have EVER had in my entire life. 1st of all, why is it that every single Mexican restaurant microwaves their dishes? There is a reason why the plates are scolding hot, it's cause it's not fresh!! But that's beside my point. This food was dreadful!! Almost un-edible! We ordered some fiesta platter special (chalupa, taco, chile relleno, tamale, enchilada) and there wasn't a single shining moment with anything. Bland, Greasy and Disgusting. It also took our waiter 15 min to bring our check, after we were done and getting sick from our meal (not good enough to call food). There is no way I will ever return to this establishment, I will tell everyone to stay away, and this restaurant should be embarrassed for what they served us.
