My Mr. Raves about this restaurant and been wanting to take me here for years. Even my friend from my work highly recommends it. So now that we live near the area, we will be here quite often! Plus being next to our Gym will make it difficult to pass up. We dined in for lunch. I didn't get the full experience yet with the drinks because I didn't feel like alcohol at the time, but they serve really good food! We started off with their chips and salsa. It was not spicy but had really good flavor. My Mr. ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I wanted something simple. Just beef hard shell tacos, however, it was not on the menu. With no hesitation, our waitress said they can make it for me but it comes in 3 tacos. I had no problem with that. Now that was great customer service!!!! Our meals came out in less than 10 minutes and I devoured my meal in 10 minutes. It was that good. The beef had good flavor and they packed my tacos with lots of cheese. My Mr. left no food behind. Upon arriving, we were happily greeted by two workers. We then sat in a booth that seem private to the dining area which made for a cozy atmosphere. We came for a late lunch and it was not crowded at all. The dining room music is soft, good for conversation. Chips and salsa came out right away and the chips were warm and the salsa was not too spicy. We also got a side of queso which was thin but still had an excellent taste. There was half a page of vegetation options and I got the veggie tacos which was delicious with sautéed veggies, fresh avocado, and topped with queen fresco. Our server was soft spoken and kind. The restaurant was also decorated authentically and had a great full bar set up. Overall, it was great food at a great price and I'll definitely be back. read more

I am really having a hard time finding Mexican food to my liking! 35+ years of my life in San Diego, California has made it very hard for me to find Mexican food that I love here in Cincy. Anywho... I came here for dinner with a friend and wanted some really good nachos with carne asada. I ordered their fajita nachos because that seems to be the closest thing I was looking for. Anywho, the dish tasted pretty okay - wasn't terrible - but wasn't great. The portion was quite small for a "dinner" nacho, but whatever. I was disappointed that it did not automatically come with guacamole, so I had to order that on the side (additional charge). But although what I ordered was just okay, I would definitely come back here and will probably try one of their actual entrees. Only because my friend ordered their carne asada plate and that looks pretty good. Lastly, 4 stars for the service - our server was really patient with us because we took a long time to order lol.. he was nice and did a great job. read more

Glad to have a delicious Mexican restaurant close by to where I live! The proportions here are great. I ordered the El Patron combo and the Alambre combo. Each dish can last at least 2 meals especially with the chips and salsa. Their quesadillas are full and have a lot of ingredients and are not the wimpy kind from some Mexican restaurants. The salsas and guacamole seem fresh and so flavorful. The Alambre comes with chips and salsa. I got some spicy salsa and it actually is spicy and a great topping for the tacos. They are very flavorful and the pineapple is a great touch. The Mexican sausage is so good. I had so many flavors in my mouth. For the amount of food and the prices, this is a great place to order from. The staff is also so hardworking and nice! I did a pickup order and they addressed me and were working quickly to get all the orders done while serving those dining in. First impression didn't go over very well. The chips and salsa are average. They do put oregano and I'm guessing some sort of chili seasoning in the salsa. I ordered the Camarones California and was served the Camarones Super. I brought it to the waiters attention that the entree wasn't what I ordered. He then left and brought me a bowl of scallops. I explained again what I ordered in detail and then requested to see the menu again. Ten minutes later he comes out with the correct entree. Ugh! Also, I didn't like the fact that there were one to many gnats that came out with our meals. Overall, flavor wasn't spectacular and presentation was no different than any other chain restaurant. Sure, there are a plethora of Mexican restaurants in Cincinnati, but there are definitely some that are better than others. I would absolutely rank Patron with the better ones, if not one of the best, in the area. I stopped by for lunch since I was in the area. The place itself isn't huge but does have a good amount of seating. Plus, with the current climate, all employees wear masks and social distancing is enforced as well as proper cleaning/sanitizing. Their menu is loaded with lots of tasty options, something for everyone. They have excellent lunch specials for great prices too. For this visit, I decided to try their hot and spicy burrito with chicken. My order came out super fast and tasted fantastic from the first bite to the last. Plus it was just enough to fill me up and only cost me $6.99. Hard to beat true tastiness at that price! I have a feeling Patron is gonna be a regular lunch destination for me now. I'll probably bring my lady along sometime too. Great food, fast service, very nice prices. What's not to like there? read more

This was our fourth visit in four months. We drive about a half hour, this is truly a destination worth the drive. We followed the owners from their former location. Always kind, personable, thoughtful service. And always delicious! Simple, fresh flavors. Everyone at our table is always happy. I can't count the times our friends and family members we bring with us to dine say "This is the best I've ever had!" My personal favorites: street tacos, chimichangas, and fajitas. We love the margaritas and the Paloma to drink. My youngest kiddo gets the quesadilla or beef nachos and cleans his plate every time. Look for the mole to be added to the menu (or specials) soon. I shouldn't rate this place by comparison to the restaurant that previously occupied this space, but I can't help it. I've been a couple times now, and it is just a step down from El Trio. Obviously there is no salsa bar, but the quality of service and food are not as good. I sit at the bar, and the bar tender asked me if I wanted to order a drink, I said that I'd let him know when I figured it out. He stared at me, directly across the bar, just stared as I looked through the menu, trying to find the Drinks section. He did point out that there was a separate menu for drinks, so I picked it up and he stared at me. I just wanted a margarita, but their Drinks menu only has descriptions, nothing about sizes offered or prices. I just kind-of guessed that a Medium margarita would probably suffice, I got it frozen, no salt. It obviously came out of a machine, but the color was not bright green, more of a pistachio or avocado color. Flavor was ok-ish, but nothing to write home about. Btw, once I ordered my margarita and food, besides serving them to me, I never saw Sir Stares again until my check was presented. I didn't really need anything, but what if I did? The guacamole served on my nachos was oxidized/dark/gray-ish/old. Both times I've been, the food was food. Nothing more than as described, nothing particularly interesting. The salsa carafe was probably the high point of the meal. I don't wish anything negative against them, but if you are expecting food/service that the previous tenant (El Trio), they are not quite there yet. read more

This is our first time visiting this restaurant. It's a long drive for us but we came because we know some of the people that work here. We were not disappointed. The food is great and the margaritas are second to none. And of course the staff is amazing - responsive and super nice! We live about 35 minutes away and as we were driving here had commented that we wouldn't come often because of the distance. Now we are thinking perhaps we will move closer! It may look small and non-descript from the outside but this place is not to be missed! Special orders are not a problem. El Trio was formerly located in this strip mall spot, and the interior looks pretty much the same now that it operates as Patron. One big difference is that El Trio offered tortas, oversized sandwiches which are baked or grilled. Not sure what other Mexican place in Cincy offers them, but Patron doesn't. Their menu is the usual tacos, burritos and enchiladas. My green burrito was quite large and not very spicy. Chips and salsa are just okay. Margarita was enormous, and quite syrupy. This place will do in a pinch. read more

I ordered the "authentic" guacamole, but was served the guacamole dip. That was the only slight slip, but it was delicious. My flautas (chicken) were perfect. They have a large menu, something for everyone. The food was good, and the server was friendly. But I have never felt so rushed out of a restaurant before in my life. After enjoying my first taco, the server Britt the check and thanked us for coming. When the manager (I assume that's who it was) came by to collect the check and thanked us for coming, I shoveled the second taco whole into my mouth at once, nearly choked on it, and left my last taco on the plate (despite the fact I was still hungry) and left feeling incredibly sick. Nice little restaurant off of Wooster Pike. Food we ordered came out fast and hot. The hot salsa they provided was slightly hotter than the regular salsa but still good. I ordered Al pastor. It was a tiny portion of yucky ground pork doused in chili powder with a few scattering of pineapple. The rice was the cheapest fake chicken flavored trans -fat greasy rice. Watery old refried beans. My daughters "burrito" was a small tortilla with a smattering of beans "rice"? And cheese. They forgot the cheese on my husbands quesadilla and then took it back to the kitchen for a sprinkle of cold cheese inside!. It was truly the most terrible "food" Not fit for human consumption) I have ever tasted and expensive. I also saw some people drinking fluorescent glowing margaritas at another table. How can a restaurant serve such utter garbage and patrons be ok with paying to be fed such toxic sludge?? I feel for everyone in every business these days. How do restaurants succeed? Honesty, integrity, real food they can honestly food good about serving. Like every other truly successful business. I was optimistic with seeing the reviews and stars on google. But this was mine and my girlfriends first time going here. It looked good. We got there. Was seated, we can start with the salsa. It actually tasted like pizza sauce mixed with salsa. Lol then we order our margs and food. My girlfriends food came out, nothing for me. I asked for them to check on the margs, they bring her marg. Again nothing for me haha. Then they finally bring my marg, still no food. Went to go check on my food and brought me something completely different than what I ordered, so I asked them to send it back, they happened to make the wrong thing. At this point we are ready to go. I ask to put it in a Togo container. She then brings it out on a plate and says they already made. I'll bring a Togo container... THEN that is a used dirty container. So we go to leave, go to pay. Not a single sorry, nothing comp'd. Now I wasn't looking for a free meal. MIND YOU, They weren't busy at all. But if you noticed a customer that is not happy, you do everything to make it better or more enjoyable. Anyways, we won't be going here again. read more
