Loaded fries
Michelle J.

Was a little surprising that the restaurant didn't have a better system in place with a live band performing. I was told they weren't taking names. I asked the host, "what if people leave?" She just seemed confused. We ended up just watching from outside the restaurant. An hour into the show, a different host asked if we wanted a table and we said yes. We tried to order wings but they were out of wings!!! Interesting. We ended up getting drinks and loaded fries. The fries were good. I'm ok if I don't have to go back here, host was just not good.

The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood taproom: casual, lively, and family-friendly. The bar is huge, with an impressive selection of draft beers (especially if you're an IPA fan), and they also have bourbon bottles available for purchase. We ordered burgers, and they were all really good. One bun seemed a little stale, but it didn't take away from the overall meal. The cheese curds were a standout: piping hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The beef nachos, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. They arrived cold and just didn't have the same wow factor as the rest of the food. My sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I took the leftovers home and popped them in the air fryer the next day, and they turned out fantastic. Overall, I'd definitely go back. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great burgers, a huge beer selection, and a menu that has something for just about everyone in the family, dog and kid friendly, 859 Taproom is a solid choice.

The burger was good and very large. The bar was busy and noisy. Service was excellent. The only complaint I had was that there were only three low top tables inside and they were full. We were offered a patio seat but it was sweltering. It is very difficult to sit at a high top table when you have difficulty walking. Really glad I finally got to try the tenderloin though.

You've got everything from burgers and loaded fries to sushi rolls, which sounds like an odd combo but somehow works perfectly. The vibe is casual and upbeat, with TVs around for games and a lively crowd most nights. It's the kind of place where you can go with kids, meet friends for drinks, or just grab a quick dinner without feeling rushed. Food-wise, the burgers are consistently good juicy, flavorful, and actually cooked right. The sushi is surprisingly fresh for a non-traditional sushi spot, I love the surf and turf roll, me and my husband get it everytime, and it's a fun option if you want to mix things up. The appetizers are definitely worth it too, especially if you're sharing.

We sat outside last night and there is litter all over the place. (See photos). We had to try 4 different tables to sit somewhere without trash and food on the ground at our feet. And the outside tables were sticky. Once we saw someone wiping down tables. Not often enough in my opinion. And food is not the best. Extremely salty and greasy. The Caesar salad was good but the patty melt lacked the flavor punch I expected. I only ate half of it. My husband said the same thing about his morning glory burger. Happy hour specials are decent but probably not good enough for us to come back for our regular Thursday happy hour meet up.

The downstairs is a bar with a smattering of tables. I loved it. It felt just as it should. A nieghborhood atmosphere where you can catch a drink and chat with friends. The bar is a long wooden affair that puts you in mind of days gone by. Upstairs is a meeting room which can be rented. The new owners chose to echo the feel of the original bar here. You can play darts here any time it is not rented or being used for club which I am told is Monday night. The staff: the staff was completely friendly. Super helpful and wonderful. The owner Tim was cheerful and took a moment to introduce himself. The bartender who took our order was cheerful and upbeat. Quick to show us the food menu and give us the rundown of what was good. The food: First off I had a glass of white zinfendel. It was middle of the road. Just an edge of sweet and a proper rose. I liked it. I ordered a bowl of white chicken chili. It was fantastic. I will be back for more. The price is absolutely right at 5.75 for a good sized bowl and a rasher of tortilla chips. It was obviously homemade. For the main course I tried a pot roast sandwich served with chips. The pot roast was perfectly seasoned and provolone cheese perfectly complimented the roast. The bread is sour dough. A fantastic sandwich. The jist: this place has a very small menu. We tried all but two items on it in one trip but everything we ate was fantastic. The prices were perfect. We felt like important customers. The bar is well stocked. The remodel kept an old time atmosphere but also gave it a modern flair the place is clean as a whistle. See Matt Miller's photos for pictures of the food and atmosphere. A must visit in Erlanger.

Never would I ever have found this off-the-beaten path bar and it's adjacent pizza joint. On Wednesdays, they host trivia from Last Call Trivia. If you haven't done, what are you waiting for?!?! It's fantastic. If you are concerned about the viurs, know that they have an open patio for seating, and signs that suggest you must remain seated during your stay. Not a lot of crowding or mixing is going on, in other words (inside at the bar is another story). Our trivia host was awesome. Our server, Jordan, was too. They have a pretty good bourbon selection and my SO is a bourbon fan. I had the peach smash, which was refreshing, tasty, and perfect for a warm summer night. Our pizza, from next door, hit the spot. I'd love to go back and try the pizza fries, the antipasta salad, and the wings. So, yeah, I'm a fan. I'm not sure how the bar is on a regular night. YMMV.
