First off service from Shelby was awesome. We get a table on a Sunday afternoon off open table. She was completely attentive and saw to our every needs, suggesting the best appetizer and somehow knew my drink order before I did. The braised Brie was delicious and the portion huge for an appetizer. My wife and I had a ribeye steak and it was perfectly cooked and flavor. The Brussels sprouts were heavenly. My eldest, who is a a vegetarian, really enjoyed her bean burger. My other daughter had meatloaf, showing the versatility of the menu. A seafood chowder, lamb chops, and fancy burgers were also available. The place was clean and had an air up upscale dining. Silverware brought in proper order. We had a group of 6 with reservations for 6 PM on a Tuesday. We arrived on time. Table was set already with menus and water. Waitress came to get drink orders. Everyone just wanted water. Waitress walked away and about 20 minutes later we asked if we could order our food. Everyone ordered from their large entree salad menu. Our waitress never came back but we did notice that other servers were noticing our table since we had not been served. At 7:30, an hour and a half later we left. We did tell the reservation desk we had not been served and were leaving. We saw our waitress briefly attending to others but did not come to our table. The Grandview was fine. I had a burger on Cincinnati burger week. The burger was good but was only lukewarm. I was in on lunch and they were not overly busy. I also had a Bulleit Bourbon Old Fashioned. The cocktail was really good. There was plenty of parking right outside the door to the restaurant. I also had sweet potato fries. This place probably deserves another chance and I may try again when it is not burger week to see how well they do. Service was also a tad slow for the number of patrons in the place. The Cincinnati Burger Week special was a French Bistro Burger with 6oz patty, caramelized onions, bacon crumbles, Brie cheese sauce, and balsamic drizzle. I thought the bun and the burger were average, even a tad small; no customizations are allowed so all burgers are served medium (my go-to is medium rare). I visited here for dinner on a Friday night with my significant other and her mother. We did not have a reservation, but despite being very busy they were able to seat us in the back room. There was live music in the front room and a lively bar, although the backroom seemed like an older, slightly outdated, acquired space that was at least quiet and spacious. The restaurant were extremely busy, so I didn't fault the service for being slower and a bit more inconsistent - they were still friendly enough and calm. I ordered a riesling to go with an order of oysters and an entree of Beer Battered Cod with a side of Mac & Cheese. Unfortunately I never got my oysters, which was disappointing. The food we received, while not breathtaking, was still solid. My entree was satisfying, and a nice cap to a long week. We had a snafu with one of the other entrees where they food came out cold, but it was able to be reheated and tasted fine after. Overall a solid impromptu experience. I would be curious to come here during a less busy time period and try their burgers, although I don't feel compelled to come here for dinner on a weekend again. read more

Stopped by Grandview Tavern on Saturday night to see friend's brother's band play. The place was packed. I'm glad they had a table as the place was standing room only. There are so many selections on their menu burgers, pizza, salads, appetizers and Chef's table. It was very hard to make a decision, so narrowed down to a few choices and had our waitress select for me. She brought The Grandview Chicken - grilled chicken breast with capers and lemon with wild mushroom risotto and grilled asparagus (but I forgot to take a picture of my dish as I was hungry). It was delicious! The asparagus is the best I've ever had, just right grilled, flavoring and the chicken, risotto and asparagus was the the right combo. Friend's husband had margherita pizza, another member of the group had the black bleu salad, which looked delicious. A few burgers, it was great to see the selection of food everyone at the table ordered. Then another couple ordered the Chocolate Trifle, it looked so good, that I ordered my own without whipped cream. Wow this is one of the best desserts I've ever enjoyed lots of chocolate mousse, a double chocolate chip brownie it was heaven for a chocoholic like me! The only negative as the place was packed is how hot it was in the restaurant we were all burning up at the table, don't know if they had the heat on as it was cold outside and then all of the people inside just added to the heat on this evening, would return again for a wonderful meal. read more

We went to the Grandview Tavern two nights ago for dinner. The service was incredibly slow, and they said that they couldn't take orders because "the computers are down and we don't want to overwhelm the kitchen." We sat for over 2 hours watching other diners arrive, order, and eat before our server agreed to let us order. The burger was good, but the pizza was inedible. Frozen cardboard crust and disgusting toppings. We couldn't eat it and just left it. I get that they might have been having computer issues, but the kitchen couldn't have been overwhelmed. They wouldn't be cooking more food than normal. The dining room was completely empty. We were amazed that they kept seating people despite not serving them. We watched multiple tables walk out. If they weren't capable of serving drinks or food, they should have stopped seating people and closed. That's what I would expect from any restaurant that takes pride in what they do. If you aren't able to put out a decent product, you suck it up and close. We have no interest in ever going back. read more

I don't even know where to start.....Server took 10 minutes to get our drink order, didn'tmake many suggestions or advise of specials just blurted out if you want beer or wine you have 2 minutes until happy hour is over, but yet my wine was not discounted. My beverage glass smelled like a dirty wash cloth, my vegetables and green beans tasted like they were cooked over straight propane and were not cooked very well, the mac and cheese was made with beer and it was so disgusting. I get it there are many factors involved. But today I ordered my first batch, they came out wrong, so I sent it back .... No worries! I ordered a second batch, because we all shared them at the table and I wanted some more. They came back wrong again. So we sent them back and they fixed it, but I would think that you know ... "we screwed up twice, Sorry for your extra wait inconvenience both times While others are eating their food you're waiting, That they would knock off a couple of bucks off your bill, off your tab, just because you know "we're sorry it happened Twice" that's all but nothing ! it just would've been nice to say hey we're really sorry you know we're having a little bit of issues. My kind of place! Full service bar (not just beer like some pubs), with great lunch menu. Start with Deep Eddie's Vodka, then get crazy. I had the BLT, with double bacon - and it was great! Massive bacon pile, with minimal bread - for you Paleo nuts and carnivores! Oddly, the appetizers are all TexMex themed, as if they depend on hard-drinking Texans (like myself) to fill the bar! A friend of mine mentioned that this restaurant is really good. I arrived right after happy hour and still got a good deal on red wines. House wines at the time were $5.50. With the wine I got the special of the day. Cedar plank Salmon with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The server was very patient and knowledgeable. I felt bad that she had to come back 3 times since I was indecisive on what I wanted for dinner. She was efficient and quick to refill my water. It's unconscionable that I wouldn't be seated in the music area even with a reservation, after many times of not being able to get a seat when my band friends play. The staff is unfortunately historically unaccommodating. So I sat at the bar. After browsing the menu, the food all appears to be over-priced. Had a summer fruit salad with the driest, overcooked, tasteless, room temperature white chicken that could have come from a microwave or was boiled. Some of it had grill marks, but no grill taste. Band was the only redeeming factor. Way overrated place. Community could use a good watering hole but this one could learn from the Silver Spring House in Harpers Point as to how to do it. read more

I made reservations on open table for Valentine's Day for this restaurant. I was pleased to get the time I time u asked for. When we arrived we were seated right away, and our server Melissa seemed attentive and accommodating. She took out drink orders, and even briefly talk about the Valentine's special, but we opt to order from the regular menu. We ordered the cheese and meat plate with mustard and jelly dips and olives. It's okay, nothing special about it. The serving size seemed pretty big- good for 2-3 people. For our main entree, I ordered the salmon which to me was cooked and seasoned right. My husband ordered the cheeseburger and it comes with fries. He was very disappointed with his meal- the burgers were very thin and small, it even looks like the Burger King cheese burger. Their burger is not something I will recommend considering it's priced at $15- so not worth it. For dessert my first choice was the chocolate lava cake with expresso ice cream on top, but they ran out. So I ordered the cream brûlée, it was okay, but not something Highly recommend, it's tasted like cheese a but creamier. I love the ambiance, it's cozy and seemed like it cater to older population. I also like that the place has a live show- there was a singer playing a guitar during our dinner to serenade the diners. I might not come back to this place again since the price seemed more than I want to pay for food that seemed average- nothing to brag about. We heard from my in-laws that this place is a cougar hotspot, so we all decided to go out for dinner because we love some entertaining experiences. The biggest drawback of this place is the aesthetics, it feels like a strip center sports bar, although elevated, because it is. The outdoor patio is nice and they provided some live entertainment while we were there. The food was surprising good. Honestly, we didn't have the highest expectations, but once we had our first app, the queso, we realized that we were in good hands. We also got the chicken wings the black bean burger a salad and the surf and turf dish. All of them were spectacular. Rich, full flavor and pretty high-quality ingredients as well as really reasonable portion sizes. Our server even went through the effort of splitting up the two dishes me and my fiancé were sharing onto separate plates. It was really nice of them and the service was great beyond that. The server was quick attentive and she did a good job recommending items like the dry rub chicken wings that's the Way to go! Get the sauce on the side but just do the dry rub. Although we didn't get the deep cougar club experience we were hoping for we definitely enjoyed our time here and will be going back. I am surprised to see so many bad reviews seemingly from years ago but I think this place is doing something right now because their food is awesome and it's hard to complain with sitting out on a patio for a nice meal. read more

Apparently Colleen Haws, CEO/Owner, needs to trick people with false event advertisement in order to obtain business. It became apparent to patrons, when requesting compensation for the false pretense, Colleen Haws, CEO/Owner, believes in insulting people. In addition, Colleen Haws, CEO/Owner, apparently doesn't like customers talking to each other about the fictitious band scenario because she called the police on the peaceful patrons and asked the police to escort them out. Conclusion, this restaurant is not "Grand", it doesn't offer a "view", music isn't bringing warmth to the environment, and Colleen Haws is a hot mess." read more

Expect to spend at least $100 per couple - probably closer to $150 with drinks, appetizer, and entree. read more
