    Goetta sandwich

The place was almost deserted when I arrived around 6:00. Norma, thee bartender/server was welcoming and engaging. Visiting Cincinnati, I wanted goetta, which they had. I ordered a grilled goetta a d cheese with a side salad - housemade ranch ( more like black pepper cream, but delicious) as the only dressing choice. Ambiance is dark dive bar. Service is great- Norma is outstanding! Salad was fresh and crisp, could only have been improved with croutons The sandwich was perfectly toasted, the goetta was what it should be in all of its bland glory. Hot sauces on the table are appreciated.

If you're looking for a place to unwind, have good food and fun, this place is for you. The name Green Lantern does not appear on the outside of the building, so if you're not from the neighborhood (like me) you might drive past it at first. I found this place on Yelp while searching for a place to eat after a soccer game. Based on the other reviews and a glimpse at the menu, my husband and I were sold. We started off with the Hanky Panky, which was the perfect size for two. I then had the Piggie on Pretzel sandwich with the homemade Saratoga chips -- both of which I highly recommend. My husband ordered a burger, which he loved, but he also ordered the battered fries, which neither of us liked. After stuffing our faces, we decided that we were in the mood for something sweet. We shared a piece of chocolate lava cake, which didn't stay on the plate for long. While we dined, we enjoyed some basketball on the TV before karaoke night began. What fun! And the folks who got up to sing were pretty good. I'd also like to give a shout out to the staff, who were really friendly. The Green Lantern gives you an at-home feeling, sort of like Cheers but not as fancy.

Okay honestly this place is a GEM. Like. I've lived two blocks away for three years and never been here which is a tragedy.. the drinks are *relatively* limited as far as drafts, but it's totally made up for with the fact that wells are less than $4..... ALSO: the food here is amaaazing, we got a large app sampler and every single thing was crave-worthy. I honestly can't wait to make this place a staple in my weekly routine!!!

We had never been there before so we had no idea what to expect. When we got there, it is a "seat yourself" situation. It's more a bar than a restaurant, so it makes sense. The only frustrating thing was that there was no one really covering the entrance. While my partner and I waited in the lobby area for a table to open up, patrons who came in after us would just walk into the dining area and hover around tables until people would leave. That's not the fault of the restaurant, especially on a busy night, but it did leave us a bit frustrated in the beginning. Because the restaurant was so busy, the waitstaff was not very attentive. It felt like they were spread pretty thin. It was the first nice night of the spring, so lots of people were out in the patio area. The food was pretty decent. My sandwich was really good and I liked the egg roll appetizer. My partner liked the po boy, but the shrimp breading was very dark on the outside - usually meaning the oil hadn't been changed out. Overall, if you are looking for a relaxed bar atmosphere with outdoor seating where you can watch a game, this place will be good for you. If you're looking for a quiet restaurant with attentive service, this may not be the place.

For my wife it's sll about the Goetta Van Fleet (macaroni and cheese with goetta and Grippos bbq chips) and the milkshakes (also 2 of my favorites). I don't know what's the best part of the mac and cheese is, but the 3 things work fantasticly together! The mac snd cheese is creamy and delicious, and the goetta and chips just set it off. The milkshakes have that old fashion flair to them, so thick, so creamy. If you drink your shake first, you may be too full to eat, but its such a good thing. I have had all of the burgers they offer, and you can't go wrong with any of them. Depending on how hungry you are you can get them as a single and you can also add a patty. My two favorites are the Nom Petty and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'm a sucker for for a good mushroom and swiss burger, that's the Nom Petty. A lot of fresh grilled mushrooms, gooey melted swiss and a hot juicy patty. All fantastic goodness. I think, at least this week, my over all favorite is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I get this burger with a double patty. This burger has a spicy ketchup, mayo, pepper jack chese, bacon and jalapeño poppers. Just an explosion oof flavor. It's just the right amount of of heat for me, and it's just fantastic. The service is that good old fashioned family restaurant type of service. Everyone is so friendly, always smiling, and I never have to wait for a thing. I just tried the wings this week, homerun. Big, meaty, hot, bone in wings with homemade ranch and or blue cheese on the side. A can't miss. There is something for everyone. We love this place, I encourage everyone to to give it a try!

My wife and I decided to go back today and went in for a quick snack. We were going to split a burger and I also ordered an additional side salad and a side of onion rings. This was after waiting a ridiculous amount of time to actually have the server come to our table to place the order. When the food was brought out by one of the young runners I commented that it looked as if I had received the full orders and asked to see the server. After five minutes it was clear that he wasn't coming back as he was behind the bar engaged with other patrons. I went ahead and started eating as the food was getting cold and I assumed that he would make it right, Bad assumption as he never came back to check on us, my beer ran dry and there was no opportunity for another round. When he next appeared, it was with the check. I questioned him about the sizes and he stated ,"I rang in the side sizes validating my concern. He then came back and said, " no those were the full sizes, would you like a free cheesecake on me?" No, I want to be charged for what I ordered and what I ate. as you can see by the check, I had to pay for food I did not order and did not eat. It seems as if my used to be go to place in the county is suffering from a lack of customer service and I am sorry but there are too many other choices out there that value me as a customer.

The first thing I look for is a nice patio. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating today, but I will be back for this fabulous patio. I was there before the dinner rush, which explains the emptiness of the restaurant. More people started arriving after 5:00. There were so many yummy sounding choices on the menu that it was hard to decide. I asked my server, Erin, what she recommends and she said the CAJUN BOURBON FILET TIPS were her favorite. I went with that and was not disappointed. The filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It is served over mashed potatoes and topped with onion straws. While the beef portion was small, it was a satisfying meal and the flavors were perfection! I added a side Caesar salad. Their house-made croutons were so good and the dressing was tasty and perfectly portioned. I don't often order dessert, but decided to splurge tonight and got a slice of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to-go. OMG, this is one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. It was light and dense at the same time, if that makes sense. So creamy and melt in your mouth delicious. I will dream about it tonight LOL.

The place is comfortable; the tables are nicely spaced. Though it's a bar and grill, it has the feel of a restaurant. The menu is huge; so many options! I decided what I wanted, but kept looking at the menu. I considered changing my mind several times, but stuck with my original choice - SAIGON SALAD - arcadian greens / red and green onions / almonds / rice noodles / grilled chicken / soy ginger vinaigrette. The salad had a nice mix of greens. The chicken had an honest to goodness grilled flavor. It was the perfect size and seemed like a light option. It was delicious and I left feeling perfectly satisfied. Mark had CAJUN CREAM PASTA - grilled chicken breast / artichokes / black olives / tomatoes / spicy cream sauce/ penne. I failed miserably taking a picture, but I can tell you Mark raved about it. He also agreed the chicken had a great grilled flavor. He said the sauce, not too spicy at all, was delicious. He ate every bite. Three people had SALMON SLIDERS - grilled salmon / arcadian greens / tomato / remolaude / slider buns / chips. Everyone enjoyed them, though one mentioned the salmon had a habit of exiting the bun. Someone had a burger and another had NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN WRAP - fried chicken / cayenne chili oil / honey / shredded cabbage / cheddar / pickles/ chips. He said it was quite good and rather spicy. Everyone was happy with their meal. With so many other options on the menu, we could come back and easily all order something different.
