Jim Crowley, the greatest bartender this city's ever known, was given the chance by the visionary owners of Mount Adams Pub & Grill--along with backing from top local brewers--to create something truly legendary. If you want an elevated WHITE RUSSIAN experience, have the bartender make it with the chocolate espresso infusion. I had the PINEAPPLE HABANERO TEQUILA with GINGER ALE, which was a nicely spicy treat with a good back of the throat burn. The colorful TIDE POD SHOTS proved too interesting to resist, so my husband and I both sprang for one. It's made with three types of liquor, and its three layers of jello and pudding and makes for a delicious, if off-putting shot. The secret is to run your tongue around the inside of the shot glass so you get a rush of all the flavors at once. The OREO PUDDING SHOT, made with cake vodka, is another boozy treat not to be missed. It's delicious and creamy with chunks of Oreo. The LEMONCELLO is light and refreshing, a perfect summertime drink, either straight or mixed with other ingredients. This is a local establishment that prides itself on exceptional customer service. Jerry, one of the owners, took great care of its on our last visit, when frankly all I really wanted to do was order one drink, use the can, and leave. My friends and I went a bit later in the night and by that time it was packed. They had the windows open which made it very nice inside with the great weather and good vibes. The vibe was vintage and rustic, they had a ton of records around and free tabletop pacman to play which was fun. While it was busy, it wasn't overly crowded and it made it much easier to hang around and sit with friends. This will be a definite spot in the future, and I hope to come when it isn't so busy so that I can sit and enjoy their cocktails a bit more. Not terrible, but certainly nothing to write home about. What really stood out, however, was the poor customer service. Out initial bartender Tai (not sure how to spell) was very welcoming and friendly...which made what followed disappointing. During a casual conversation, one of the bartenders felt the need to interject an unsolicited personal opinion that could easily be offensive, especially when you don't know your audience. When I expressed my displeasure, rather than handling it professionally, she became dismissive and argumentative, making an already uncomfortable situation worse. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but there's a time and place to express them, particularly when you're representing a business and interacting with paying customers. Between the mediocre food and the lack of professionalism, we won't be returning. Disappointing to see a place we once enjoyed leave such a negative impression.
