The server was fantastic and the food was great here! I had the chicken flautas which comes with rice and beans. The strawberry Margarita my friend got was also delicious and it came in a color changing take home cup. The only odd drawback we had was at the front of the house, there was a 30 minute wait and my friend and I wanted to wait at the bar and get a drink. The front of house employees, as well as the bartenders were adamant about nobody was allowed to get a drink or wait at the bar. They refused service to my friend, another customer, and me while we waited for our table. You had to be seated at the bar for dinner in order to be served at the bar. They directed us to a waiting area outside, which was too hot and muggy to be out there. I've never been to a restaurant with a bar that refused service to multiple customers that wanted to buy a drink. This is my second visit to this Chuy's and I like that the menu offers many entree choices. Their creamy jalapeño dip is the best! Everyone at the table ordered the stacked enchilada entree with the green Chile rice. The ceiling is decorated with old hub caps and license plates. There are 50's style dining room Formica/ aluminum tables. This is the only Chuy's restaurant in Alabama so don't miss trying this Texas based Tex Mex restaurant with delicious food. read more

Thus is one of my fave places. It's tex mex, which I don't normally dig. But they do it well. I love the Panchos....I've tried to make them myself, but they have it down to an art. My husband and I went to chuy's last night ( Monday) we had to wait for 40 minutes. We got seated and a server named Zach came over and got our drinks and took our order. Mean while we ate the delicious chips and salsa. The kings punch was great! The food was brought out by a runner and the beans was dry, the rice was dry. Okay, I will just eat the burrito I thought. It was supposed to be chicken. But, you just think if you had food that sit on the counter all day/night. And it had dried out, that was the equivalent our food. Just nasty. Going back to Zach. The reason for my post. We found him to be pleasant, and on point with service. I'd give him 5 stars and wish him well with wherever his path takes him and tell you with his attitude. I've been here several times. Fell in love first visit. The jalapeño ranch dip and fresh salsa is a winner hands down. Almost always order the creamy jalapeño ranch dip to go. The fresh thin chips are the best as well. Tonight we had some errands to run and stopped by for happy hour. We had strawberry swirl margaritas and the Nacho bar. My drink was delicious and strong. I'm a fan of Chuy's, always have been. I like this location. Some days are really good, some days are average because that is how businesses are; nothing is perfect all the time. We usually have a good time and a good meal. I'm actually leaving this review today because I was just reading some of the other reviews that say "I usually love this place and I've had 20 good meals here but today they were a little bit off so I'm giving one star." As a business owner, that is ridiculously annoying because everybody has off days. People are super quick to pounce on that one day and focus on it, and completely forget about all the other positive things. So I really do enjoy this place, we actually ate here right after I started this review and had another good experience. We will definitely be back. But I'm also leaving this review as a definite kick in the face to the keyboard warriors who don't have anything to say until there's something bad to say. read more

Good, clean, predictable tex mex place with a broad menu and consistent service and food quality. So yeah, its not a steakhouse, or a fine dining place with exotic drinks and plates that are part art/part food, but you really can't go wrong here with some tacos and margaritas. There was no waiting on this Wednesday afternoon which was AWESOME and our waitress was really nice. However, the menu is the worst because in the past you could substitute the meat options. Being a pescatarian that was great for me, but apparently NOW as of 2022 they only have shrimp tacos on the menu for pescatarians and you can't substitute the other meat options to get a seafood option. Confusion reigns in the beginning but in the end we came out on top. We were there back in on May 5th and the host/hostesses were certainly the weak point of the restaurant. We went here for lunch on a Saturday; mistake from the word go BUT in the end we got a good lunch for everyone. I called ahead per the Yelp app suggestions to get on the wait list but what they don't tell you is that only gets your name on a list of possible people that are on the way to the restaurant. It was after 1 when we arrived but we had to wait till nearly 2 to sit from what was supposed to be a 15-20 minute wait; never mind the fact that I was thinking that our 15-20 minute wait time included the 5-10 minutes that we needed to drive there. So onward and upward. We all sat down finally after getting the manager involved because the host/hostess group is about as inconsiderate and incompetent as any group of teenagers I have been around before. BUT that only takes away 1 star because the rest of the staff more than makes up for the attitudes and behaviors of this group of people. The server we had; unfortunately I don't remember his name; was outstanding and took great care of us from the second we were seated. He brought in a few samples of their creamy jalapeno dip and their black bean dip as well as our order of queso and chips. Everyone's food was done perfectly and didn't fit the mold of the traditional Americanized Tex-mex food; which it is but it is done with a flair of authentic Mexican food. The service was mediocre and their food isn't good the only thing good is their jalapeno ranch dip. I ate a "Big as yo face" chicken burrito yesterday with my lady and our kids. I was stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey .

My friends and I meet here for happy hour every now and then. We love sitting in the bar area and taking advantage of the free nacho "car" (the nacho bar is set up in the trunk of a car) that they have from 4 pm- 6 pm daily. I've eaten off of the menu a few times and the food is fine...your typical chain restaurant Tex Mex...nothing that I would make the trek to The Summit for unless I was already there. I could, however, eat about five gallons of the creamy jalapeno dip. Be sure to ask your waiter for some when you get there! I've learned that most of the signature drinks are generally pretty weak and/or watered down (especially for the price), so I mostly avoid the drink menu and just order mixed drinks, although their Pina Coladas are pretty good. I do wish they gave you coasters if you're sitting in the bar area. They had the windows open the last time I was there (hello, humidity!) and it made our drinks sweat like crazy! The water was literally raining off of our table and into our laps. The service is always very good and I know we will be back in the future. This place never fails. Every time I go, the food is delicious and the service is great. Not to mention the prices are reasonable. Today I was there in a party of three. Together we had pork tacos, macho burrito (both are Saturday and Sunday only specials) and a taco salad. The pork tacos were mine and I loved them. The pork was tasty and the tortillas were fresh. I came in with a party of 15 and we were quickly taken care of by Bobby. He handled our somewhat needy table with ease and had a fantastic personality. A server named Issac also was a huge help keeping all of our waters, chips, and salsas full the entire time. If you come here I would recommend asking for one of these two for 10/10 service.
