Today is class fellowship day of the month. We ventured here last month and decided to return this month. Really nice attention is given to the customers here. Today we had about 12 or 14 and last month maybe 16. The vibe is Mexican. Love the little guys on the bench outside. The food is really good and the price is right. Ariana was or server today and she was amazing. We always need a good server and she stepped up and hit a home run. I love it when we get someone who likes her or his job and she was impressive. We will keep this place in our rotation for sure. My Tip shows good work. I also love that they don't add gratuity. My tip is usually more than their suggestion but if you add it in, I give you your wish. read more

Ok when you come twice in a week that's because it a great place with some 10/10 dishes. I'm trying to try everything. The vegetables grilled lightly. Got the vegetarian fajitas and the vegetarian burrito. The staff always recommend good food. Now it's about to start getting cool outside so I'll be seating outside on there patio soon but the inside seating is perfect. You have plenty of lighting no need for a flashlight to read the menu. My experience eating was 10/10 still trying to make my way through the entire menu. I'll be back next month. I'll encourage everyone to try this location. read more

We keep coming back! This time, I got the single steak soft taco, which is topped with fresh, crispy romaine and shredded cheese. The steak was delicious! I also got the queso con carne, which has ground beef. I might just stick to plain queso next time. The salsa is outstanding. Service was quick. She even called my order in over an in-ear mic before she entered it into the computer. Wow. It is Saturday night so noisier than usual but still a great atmosphere. When it warms up, this will be the perfect place for a late dinner and drinks on the patio with sunset. read more

Met a friend here for dinner. They live nearby and had been eagerly awaiting for them to finally open. Knew we were in trouble when the bland salsa was served. The main dishes saving grace was the cheese sauce. The cheese was about the only thing prepared with flavor. Even the side of rice was devoid of the typical seasoning one would expect. The service was rushed even though the restaurant was less than half full. The decor is pleasing to the eye. Be mindful that some seating options can be a bit difficult to maneuver. read more

Clean upscale open dining room was comfortable. Staff was plentiful, capable and courteous. They need to pay more attention to the front door, many customers were left just looking around, do we seat ourselves or what. With an extensive menu it's hard to zero in on a choice. We choose to focus on the proteins and how they were cooked or plated. They seem to focus on fajitas. Steak fajita, ok seasoning, chewy, the rice, beans just ok. Tilapia with fajita seasoning, with their queso was very good, the steamed veggies not so good. Not quite a 4 star but certainly could be. read more

My date and I decided to try this fairly new restaurant in our area. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, and asked our drink selection. Complimentary chips and salsa came out shortly. The salsa had alot of kick to it! I was super impressed with the brightness and elegance of the decor. Our servers were very attentive and friendly. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. My date ordered the flaming cheese with steak. He remarked that the portions were small compared to other restaurants where he orders the same dish. My quesadilla was....just ok. The veggies were very fresh but a bit undercooked. The chicken lacked flavor. If I must say something...the dish lacked authenticity. It almost reminded me of something I would get at a Tex-Mex kinda place, not a real Mexican restaurant, which was disappointing. The flavors I'm used to just weren't there. My date enjoyed his meal overall but to be honest, this is the only dish he ever orders so he doesn't really have much to compare, lol. I may revisit again in the future to try another dish. But definitely try them for yourself. They are a great addition to the Irondale community. read more

The new El Patron in Irondale didn't disappoint. I stopped in for a quick and smallish late lunch . Decided the Chicken Soup would/ should be perfect . Guess I was wrong , a least for the small part . The bowl was huge , the soup had lots of fresh veggies and plenty of chicken . It was well seasoned and very tasty . We were glad to finally get to the newly opened El Patron. Very friendly staff--though a bit of a "quiet welcome," (could use a bit more front of door personality)...but this is authentic Tex-Mex...Burrito with Mole sauce was perfect, Chili Relleno --great, taco's great (unless you don't like purple onions! Loaded...with purple onions)...tacos --great. Fresh ingredients...reasonably priced...bathroom needs regular checks (paper towels were overflowing) -but other than that, clean. Good bar area. Surprised there was not more traffic (though a Monday night)...Might want to put more signage; lighting, etc..."Come on in," kind of stuff!! "¡Entra!" BUT...we will go back! Service is amazing! They have done a very nice job with the feel and decor. Very cozy vibe. I was heavily anticipating the food, was completely let down. Salsa and chips... amazing! All the dishes were meh. It honestly came down to just one thing, seasoning, or lack there of. We have five dishes on our table, beef, chicken and steak were all UNSEASONED. Like Nothing.
