The service was outstanding and the place was bright inside; a good look. The drinks are strong, so I was one and done. The food was hot and enjoyable. This will be a summer spot for sure. The opening for the patio. Nice!!

Met a friend here for dinner. They live nearby and had been eagerly awaiting for them to finally open. Knew we were in trouble when the bland salsa was served. The main dishes saving grace was the cheese sauce. The cheese was about the only thing prepared with flavor. Even the side of rice was devoid of the typical seasoning one would expect. The service was rushed even though the restaurant was less than half full. The decor is pleasing to the eye. Be mindful that some seating options can be a bit difficult to maneuver.

The ambiance is excellent. It's very well lit and bright, and as soon as you walk in, you'll notice the warm smiles from the staff. The hostess promptly seats you, and here come the yummy stuff chips and salsa. Then, someone comes to take drink orders. Service was very fast and everyone did a great job working together. This is definitely a place you must visit in the Irondale area.

Clean upscale open dining room was comfortable. Staff was plentiful, capable and courteous. They need to pay more attention to the front door, many customers were left just looking around, do we seat ourselves or what. With an extensive menu it's hard to zero in on a choice. We choose to focus on the proteins and how they were cooked or plated. They seem to focus on fajitas. Steak fajita, ok seasoning, chewy, the rice, beans just ok. Tilapia with fajita seasoning, with their queso was very good, the steamed veggies not so good. Not quite a 4 star but certainly could be.

My date and I decided to try this fairly new restaurant in our area. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, and asked our drink selection. Complimentary chips and salsa came out shortly. The salsa had alot of kick to it! I was super impressed with the brightness and elegance of the decor. Our servers were very attentive and friendly. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. My date ordered the flaming cheese with steak. He remarked that the portions were small compared to other restaurants where he orders the same dish. My quesadilla was....just ok. The veggies were very fresh but a bit undercooked. The chicken lacked flavor. If I must say something...the dish lacked authenticity. It almost reminded me of something I would get at a Tex-Mex kinda place, not a real Mexican restaurant, which was disappointing. The flavors I'm used to just weren't there. My date enjoyed his meal overall but to be honest, this is the only dish he ever orders so he doesn't really have much to compare, lol. I may revisit again in the future to try another dish. But definitely try them for yourself. They are a great addition to the Irondale community.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The staff was friendly but unfortunately the food was just ok. I ordered two birria tacos as you could see in the picture unfortunately they were not good.

Good food @ affordable price + the quality AND quantities which are placed in front of you while dining in this remote area strip mall are off da chain!!! I would let my dog or cat eat off the floor it's so clean.

    Chicken Soup .

The new El Patron in Irondale didn't disappoint. I stopped in for a quick and smallish late lunch . Decided the Chicken Soup would/ should be perfect . Guess I was wrong , a least for the small part . The bowl was huge , the soup had lots of fresh veggies and plenty of chicken . It was well seasoned and very tasty . They did a great job building out the space . I sat in the bar area at a high top . Chairs were cozy . Will definitely add this to the rotation .

We enjoyed the chips, smoky chipotle salsa, and queso. The queso is really delicious. Margaritas are consistently well balanced and firmly frozen. I had the chili relleno with ranchero sauce. Chili was a hatch chili, which I really liked, even more than a poblano. In my combo was a green chili chicken enchilada which was delicious too. My husband had the chimichanga with steak and queso on top. Rice and beans are flavorful and authentic Tex-mex. The view makes this a wonderful location for a relaxing dinner. We passed through Birmingham last week and ate at Chuy's. That night would have been rated a 4 star, but mostly because we didn't enjoy what we ordered as much as last night. Chuy's is a dependable consistent choice for a flavorful meal.

It's time consuming but nothing can be done in today's society when computers are down. I took a seat and pulled out the novel that has been riding in my car for years. They thought they could ring up the last before me. Nope, another 20 mins wait. One young lady had ordered 2 tacos but had to run back to work since her lunchtime was up. They should have comp'd her for wasting her lunch hour . They were going to throw it away anyway since it got cold waiting on the computer. I went out my way to find this place because my FB post said an order of guacamole and cheese dip is included in every order. The steam table had pans of dried up looking ingredients like most other type of establishments like this. I had preordered 3 items to take to love ones nearby. After seeing those dried up pans I refused to complicate their lives with food that looks like it will create diarrhea or heartburn. I got a small order of nachos with meat in the side. Got my dog the pork since I never come home with her a food reward the few times she can't go with me. I found their process of putting cheese a bowl and the other topping one want, then the chips in a bag different. I flipped the bowl over to spread onto my chips with a fork. It was disappointing because the chips are fried in batches hours ago. They are thicker than I prefer and lack flavor. Now here's what really gripped me. One staff member kept asking the hardworking co-worker for help in using the register. She handed my order to me all stacked up together. Where I had to push everything in my breast to prevent anything from falling. Are bags being deducted from her pay. Computer are down again. I sit again to wait. Not long this time. I've sat there 45 minutes or more and she tried to charge me for a small guac and other miscellaneous fees. The hardworking stepped in and rung me up that prevented me from telling them to keep that crao. It wasn't be the discount group members get on their first visit, maybe $2. As long as I had waited I deserved it and more. Anyway. I ate what I could, dumped the rest and brought the pork home. I spent $11 instead of 5 times more than I planned on spending. The facility is new so everything is extremely clean and organized. There wasn't sliced limes nor lemons for the sweet tea. The tea was good nonetheless. I doubt if I back or order from the business next door. I would hire the hardworking staffer however.

If you want something quick, authentic, and actually flavorful, this is the spot. Every time I go, the food tastes super fresh. The tortillas are warm, the meat is well-seasoned, and nothing feels overly greasy or heavy. I usually get a mix of tacos and they are always so good. They keep it simple with toppings like onion and cilantro, but the flavor speaks for itself. The sauces they give on the side are also really good and add the perfect amount of heat. The service is fast and efficient, even when there's a line, and the staff is always friendly. Since it's a food truck, it's more of a grab-and-go experience, but that's part of what makes it fun and casual. Overall, I'd give Tacos El Guero 5 stars. I chose three tacos and the total was just a bit over nine dollars after these and all. I went with a campechano taco, an asada taco and a carnitas taco. The campechano taco was by far my favorite. The carnitas taco would probably get my second choice and then the asada taco. But do not misunderstand, they all were excellent tacos. They also had a few tables under a tent of you want to dine there. Not the biggest ambiance, but it works. Since it was a chilly night in December, I ended up eating my feast in my car. This is a solid choice if you are craving some good Mexican food. I would definitely recommend this Mexican food truck and they definitely earned my recommendation. I will give here five stars overall.
