Tried again, still not bad but not great. It's the quintessential greasy spoon diner. Cash only but they got an atm inside. The coffee is generic and the foods good enough. The place has some wear on it, but the common touch areas are clean. Servers are nice and helpful. Always make sure your tiny coffee cup was full. Overall, it's okay

Crab cake is meh. Service is nice and environment is great. Wait time isn't bad. Overall pretty decent

I met with the guys on May 7, '23 who produced the movie titled "The Supermarket". These are folks who used to work at long-gone Ellington Supermarket (where the movie was filmed). A local breakfast eatery which is all about classic fine dining where the good souls eat and meet good friends. If you're from Ellington and you have never visited this establishment before, I encourage you to spend a dime on real comfort food. From Eggs Benedict to Fish & Chips to French Toast, its restaurant is more than just a breakfast eatery. Subs and fried Seafood are good lunch deals. They're so delicious that you'll want to come back. Food is tasty, staff are courteous and the atmosphere resembles locality. It is one of Ellington's finest dining establishments the community has to offer If you want to enjoy breakfast dining experience, consider visiting this establishment because there's a lot of items to find on the menu that is really good. Folks, hop on Chuck Wagon and ride along for excellent food. Excellent service!

Where do I start?! One thing I love about J Rego's is the quality of their menu; meals are always unique and truly make J Rego's stand FAR apart from other food spots in this part of CT. Yes, they offer the very best of your favorite restaurant classics, but they also add high-end, high-quality options that you cannot find anywhere else in the area. They do weekly specials (check their Instagram or call!) that always blow my mind. I literally stalk their social media each week waiting for their new options! Having J Rego's so close to home is a hazard for my self control!! And the Espresso Martinis?! Don't get me started! Delicious, high-class, and absolutely addicting. One VERY notable details about J Rego's: -- They have a FANTASTIC outdoor dining area. We enjoy it frequently in the summer, and they also set up a tent & space heaters for the colder months. Check their IG for live music on the weekends! Today, I sent my parents to J Rego's for a lunch date. They were BLOWN AWAY! It was definitely a home run recommendation. I think it is relatively new (change from another restaurant in the same location)? Plenty of parking, both in front & in the back of the building. There is an outside patio that will be nice to use when the weather is a little warmer. Inside, the space is good sized, with both booths & tables. Our server was very nice, friendly and welcoming. Food was very good. Stronger coffee (which I prefer). My husband & I both had omelettes. The omelettes are made with 3 eggs & come with toast & potatoes. We always ask to have the potatoes cooked a little crispier and they were good. Prices were good. I noticed that there are gluten free items on the menu too. We will be back.

Indoor (two sides, one w bar) and outdoor seating (in nice weather). So, I tried the cheeseburger with a side of fries. Advertised as 8 ozs. It was very good, not great. Definitely a patty, and also did not have that charbroiled taste. Bun was substantial, and held the cb well. Fries were very good. For me, the price point was slightly high, more in line with what a pub might charge. Lots of choices on the menu, and some interesting breakfast options. I also liked the happy hour listings. Service very good. So, overall, I am a fan. 4 stars

Inside is still somewhat nice looking if not a bit sparse and a bit dark. I try to get a single tamales. Along with a sandwich. Food comes out after a short delay. Took pics then dug in. Bread is really good. Crusty but soft and was warm. Had to cut it myself but they gave me a steak knife which worked for the job. The beef was flavored well but the jus was over seasoned with salt. It mellowed out when treated like a French dip, but still a little too salty on its own. There was about 6 small strips of steak, with some tomatoes and onions also in the mix to help bulk out the sandwich. The tamale was massive, masa was spiced well. Chicken was pulles in long strings which led to uneven bites of chicken and masa. Price was good for the sandwich but not the tamale. 13 for the sandwich is reasonable but would want the option for some fries or something to bulk it out. The tamale at 8 was too pricy for what you get. Not a bad tamale, but would rather pay 4 and get half than pay for a big one. Least then I can try both protein options and pick a winner. They are improving, and the efforts are noted. New menus and new servers make for a better experience. There's still some tweaks to be made, but it's a good place to try if you're feeling adventurous

They have a banquet room downstairs for golf tournaments or private parties. You'll see their big building from the golf course's main parking lot. You walk to the main entry staircase facing the lot, but don't enter through that door facing you. Instead, walk around the porch to the left, turn the corner, and you'll see the restaurant entrance straight ahead. We've enjoyed a lot of take-out from Three Season's - salmon teriyaki, chicken parmigiana, chicken Milanese, penne in vodka sauce, penne marinara, garlic cheese tortellini, and a hamburger and hot dog. The salmon was outstanding, and so were the chicken dishes. And I really liked their marinara sauce with the parmigiana and the penne. Our wait person was wonderful and very attentive at the beginning. I ordered a corned beef (Reuben) sandwich and fries, both delicious. My husband had the McWrap, a burger with all the fixings inside a soft flour tortilla wrap, plus tater tots. He said that the sandwich was great, the tater tots were just the slightest bit overcooked, but they still tasted good. We had finished our meals and drinks, but we had to wait for what seemed forever to get our bill to pay. My husband had to go inside the cafe to find our wait person. She said she'd be right out with our bill, but we kept waiting (yet again) more than 10 more minutes. The restaurant and bar (inside) was not very busy, nor was it busy on the patio. Our server appeared to also be the bartender. Perhaps, she was also the chef? Maybe those were the reasons for the delay in getting our bill? Seriously, I realize things happen. We liked the food a lot, so we'll be back!

The place was packed when I got there, lots of locals all enjoying their company and their dishes. Got a seat at the counter right away, grabbed a menu and checked through their offerings. Decided on French toast with real maple syrup and biscuits and gravy. Food came out quick especially with the crowd. Everything was cooked, the French toast was okay. Not soaked enough, toasted with butter but not a lot of cinnamon in the dredge. Not great, but very functional. The biscuits and gravy were very much a northern take on the southern classic. Grands biscuits grilled on the flat top with grey goopy gravy on top. Very lackluster. The staff was very friendly, and the price was very cheap. Even with the golden delicious branded syrup upcharge the bill was only 12 dollars. Which is very affordable given the quality was not so great. As a generic diner, it does basic dishes well enough. There's not a ton of breakfast spots around, so it does well as that local greasy spoon. Doesn't need to be fancy, cause it's one of the few places in town and they are serviceable.
