Menu took pride in its Benedict's, and I saw they did a biscuit and gravy. So I opted for their biscuit Benedict to see how that fared. With a side of corned beef hash. Food came out quickly, took pics and dug in. The Benedict was an assembly line Bennie. Biscuits were freshly made in house but salty, eggs perfectly poached and hollandaise was savory. Sausage was a generic sausage patty, and hash browns were delightfully crispy potato pieces. The corned beef hash was cooked well, loaded with lots of meat and very little potato. Which was good, cause the potato was undercooked. I was also overcharged for the corned beef hash, charged the full price when it should've been the add on price. Was 5 bucks additional, but still not cool. As a diner, it checks all the boxes. Good cheap food done well enough. It's nothing to call home about, but a place to go if you're in UConn and have the family visiting.

She brought us our bill promptly (the incorrect meal was not taken off the bill), but then there was more waiting for her to come back and take our credit card. While there, they tried to explain to him what happened - apparently the chef had a different specials list than the specials menu that was given to customers. This does not really explain the mix-up. Plus, it was 11am on a Saturday - near the end of the breakfast period. How did they not realize sooner that the chef and the wait staff had different specials menus? It's a good bakery, stuff is always fresh and the flavors in each of their cupcakes, muffins, breads, and other misc bakery items is present and forward. They know that they are good, and charge accordingly. Given that there's no direct competition in a 10 mile radius (and I would argue even past that 10 mile radius the pickings are slim) the price is justifiable for the quality you get. As someone who treks a lot around the state, I find that there are many bakeries that do similar if not better items for comparable if not lower prices. But to ask someone to drive 30-60 minutes just to get something a couple bucks cheaper that's tastes about the same? It's a hard sale. I will say that Luanne's is the best in that area of the state, not including the small boutique places that are well off the beaten path. I still come here for the view and ambiance, but I don't order much of their food.

During my last visit it was relatively quiet, so I took a seat and went through the menu. My server was very friendly and professional. I took her recommendations and got the churro crepes and peppermint latte. Latte came out quick, same with the crepe. The latte was very sweet, lots of sugar and mint. Coffee flavor was obliterated, and was a bit much for me. Informed my server, offered a drip coffee as a replacement but I opted against. The crepe was going to be a lot of sugar too, so just sent it back. She communicated with her team to watch the syrup pours for future drinks, which is a good proactive move. The churro crepes. Conceptually is a good idea. The cheesecake filling was tasty and a reprieve from the avalanche of caramel syrup and sugar. The churros were warmed up but the server was very honest that they were not made on the spot. Outside of the churro was crunchy and inside was stuffed. The crepe was not warm, so I don't think it was made fresh to order either. When I asked the server, she insisted it was made to order. The price was 21 for the latte and crepe. The price of the crepe was high for the quantity and quality. The latte was reasonable for price, but might want to ask to go light on the syrup. Given the location, it's one of the few breakfast spots around that area. It's not bad, but they do price accordingly for the lack of competition. It's not a trek place, but it's one of the few options around without driving 15 minutes. If you need breakfast in that area, then it works.

The muffin was really good, toasted in butter, sweet but not overly so, no off flavors and nice and warm. The Benedict eggs and English muffin were cooked well. The hollandaise was creamy but needed some salt, and the tenderloin was overcooked and not seasoned. The marinade didn't bring much in the way of flavor, and although the steak did have a little crust it did so at the detriment of the cook of the steak. It was good, but lacking. If you stick to standards you'll do well. It's a good local spot for breakfast fare though

We ordered breakfast and iced coffee from the café. The Brown Sugar Maple Croissant Breakfast Sandwich was absolutely delicious! Even though the café was very busy, the ordering line moved quickly, and they brought our drinks and food right to our table--a really nice touch. We also stopped by the bakery. Even later in the morning, there was still a great selection of baked goods. We brought home strawberry lemonade muffins to enjoy tomorrow, and I can't wait to try them. The general store was filled with adorable locally made products, along with a nice selection of take-and-bake meals that we'll definitely be coming back for. The entire property is thoughtfully designed with charming little seating areas scattered throughout. It's the kind of place where you want to slow down, relax, and spend a while exploring. My husband and I got the western omelette and it spinach, the corner beef hash and thick slice of bacon. Everything was really good. The potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside and soft in the inside yum! Th cooked bed beef hash you can tell it's really good it was seasoned well. The restaurant was nice and clean. The service was excellent I was very pleased. And yrs will definitely go back.
