"how one ROTTEN apple ruins the bunch" - Great place for a party , great food and games , and our helper was amazing. BUT there was one unfortunate incident that soured us on this place. After your two hours are up you have to quickly get your stuff out of the party area and into one of the booths on the side. We were rushing to do that but that wasn't the issue. It was once we were done: we started to tally the bill with our handler , he said he has to go to the kitchen and count something up to amend the bill, we were like ok sure. At that point I went to the bathroom and my wife was there surrounded with our stuff in the booth and all our guests. Then some lady walked up ( not our handler ) and said we had to settle up the bill now. My wife gently said "of course , my husband is just in the bathroom." This person then threw a hissy fit saying we need to PAY NOW with an aggressive attitude. My wife was taken aback like, "ummm he's literally in the bathroom. We have all our stuff here, no one is going anywhere." Finally I came out to see this embarrassing display (that happened in front of all our guests btw) and gave this nasty individual my credit card. Safe to say she embarrassed herself and your establishment. I've never been "ran after" to pay a bill but now I can say Chuck E. Cheese of all places is the first lol. Maybe next time hold your guests credit cards like a tab if you're gonna have employees throw a panic attack that they're not getting paid this second. Or put a tracking device on us to make sure we dont run off with all our guests and presents as soon as an employee turns their head. Or maybe have your employees intimidatingly armed so they look like they mean business and that way these "rotten parents" pay this second instead of daring to go to the bathroom. The nerve of us! And everything was going great until then too. But that's the last thing me and all our guests remember about your place and even though we Joke about it now , I doubt anyone will be coming back. Terrible location. Staff couldn't care less. I honestly have never had a worse experience at a Chuck E Cheese. I Was there on Tuesday night for my daughters birthday. We ordered a pizza and 45 minutes later my husband had to find a waitress and ask her what happened with our food. Their excuse was that they couldn't find us. I thought that was what the vibrant red number was for? The pizza was cold and had pools of grease but my 3 kids were so hungry at this point they ate it anyway. I went to Chuck E. Cheese with my son on Saturday 6/5 2pm and like so many times, I bought a points-based card. A second after my purchase, I overhead a conversation between the another customer and staff about the "summer of fun" promotion. I went to the front desk to see if I could refund my unused card and buy the "summer of fun" promotion instead. The clerk was confident something could be done but when I talked to the manager she shut me down. She suggested that I use my card today and come back next week and pay for the "summer of fun" promotion. I asked if something could be done by the corporate office, she said "no" and reiterated that my request is denied. As a regular customer, I was stunned by the conversation. I left the store with my freshly minted 39$ play card that I will not be using. More than my request, I'm dismayed by the manager's negative attitude towards customers which is noticeable in her tone and body language. I'm guessing she's been worn down by customers and takes a strong negative approach to all customer requests at this point to shorten the conversation. I contacted the corporate guest relations line and sent them an email as well with more details but I have not heard back yet. read more

If you want to reserve a table at the main party area, they charge you by the person. If you decide to save the money and just take your chances at finding tables in the back area, you'd be saving a lot of money, but you'd better get here early. This place fills up FAST! If you are not a fan of children running around, you might want to avoid this place. Games here are very children friendly...children ages 1 year to full grown adult will have a great time. The singing machine characters on the stage are still the same as I remember from my childhood, but modern day character suit Chuck E. Cheese is quite interesting to look at. Move aside chubbier, friendlier-looking, giant mouse! Here comes skinny, not-so-friendly looking (but still friendly) character suit Chuck! If you dance with Chuck during his performances, he'll toss a bunch of tickets out (like a giant piñata)! Let's get down to the food. WARNING: the management here is rude and unprofessional. Their company made a mistake and instead of making things right or trying to work with me, they were hostile and rude. While booking my party at the Pasadena location, I called the (626)351-5441 number listed on their website. They person I booked with told me that it was fine to bring in a balloon person to decorate my child's party area so I booked a balloon person to come in the day of the party. I called a second time about a different issue and the person again said that the balloon person was fine. I later found out that I was speaking to a call center. I ended up driving to the location because I couldn't reach the actual Pasadena location. The manager there told me that it was fine for the balloon person to come early to set up but he wanted to check about the time with his general manager. The general manager came out and told me that I could not bring in a balloon person. When I explained that I had been told it would be okay multiple times and that I already booked and paid for the services, she told me that I should move my party elsewhere if I wanted to use the balloon person I booked. She was rude and inflexible, even though this was their fault for giving me wrong information. If I had enough time to move the party, I would have. I was stunned by how rudely I was treated for something that was their error. Now, I'm probably going to have to sue them. It's Close to a lot of shops and restaurants in the Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena, such as Whole Foods, Trader Joes, There's even a Habit Burger next door for your Child to enjoy a burger, shake, fríes and ice Cream. If that's not enough, there's a lot of food in this venue such as pizza, salad, etc. I've seen a lot of Birthday Parties, special events from local Pasadena communities, Organizations, and groups. There's also hourly get-togethers from Chuck E Cheese that all the children from toddlers on up to participate in dancing and singing songs or mariachi. Came to this Chuck E Cheese location with the kids to celebrate a slightly early New Year's Eve. I've only been to the location in Arcadia before, and I have to say that this location was quite a bit cleaner and had fewer games that were broken. Luckily it was not very crowded for New Year's Eve, so that definitely made the experience better. We had a few beers, and pizza. The pizza was good, but even though it was supposed to be "thin and crispy," it tasted more like a regular pizza without the crispy-ness. It still had good flavor and was enjoyable. My biggest peeve with this location (and most likely the manager) was the way that they serve their beer. First off, she needs to put in all sorts of information from your ID into the computer when you order a beer, which was concerning to me. It took her about 2 minutes (after handing her my ID) to type in all the information. If you want to order 2 beers, she needs 2 IDs and then it takes twice as long to type everything in. Then, as I went back to order another beer about 20 minutes later, the whole experience happened again, as if she never saw me before (again, this place was not crowded, and I was probably the only person ordering a beer). Continuing, I ordered a large beer, but she was insistent to only fill it up 3/4 of the way, because the "cups were bigger than usual." I say either they should have gotten the right size cups or just fill it up. Please note that the cup was in no way an unusual size. It was probably the size of a pint, and that was for the "LARGE" size. All in all, it was a fun time, but I will happily try out a new location next time, or even giggles n' hugs instead. I just wasn't feeling the good customer service from this location, so I will let my Yelp review speak for that. My niece had her 9th birthday today and was it a mess from the begining. Took over an hour to get our food. The salad bar is small and had ice cubes in every dressing and everything was pretty much mixed up. The hostess are all over the place. Not checking status of food. Not lighting my niece's birthday cake candles until we told her and re-sang Happy birthday. She didn't get to go into the ticket blaster and they decided to upgrade without saying anything. I have been coming to Chuck E. Cheese since I was a kid. I loved it growing up. I've always understood the business model, you spend $80 and leave with a toy worth $3. I get that and am willing to accept it, but if you are going to rob people blind, at least have your shit working. No exaggeration, half the machines were out of service. On top of that they were horrendously under staffed. My nephew spent 15 credits on a machine that didn't work and it took almost 20 mins for the guy to put the credit back on my card. I don't blame him, he was one of two people running the entire floor and they were both hustling. Meanwhile it looked like a kid version of 128 days later. I was looking around thinking where are these kids parents? They were running, screaming, breaking things, jumping on top of the games. I mean you can't blame the place for bad parenting, but having more than two employees would have been tremendous help. Also the person who played Chuck E was enthusiastic as someone about to have a colonoscopy. I mean even my niece and nephew were like, what's up with the mouse? I hate to compare one storefront to another but this is very spacious and clean. Lots of room and more games then the other local locations. I will say that the machines are constantly jamming and the staff is quick to respond and fix it. You have to give it to the staff who must have to constantly deal with these jams and the kids who complain about the machines. Their angels and patience is not something I have. I really enjoy the chicken game and sponge Bob since I've won lots of tickets before from these games. Tee hee!! Yes, I totally play with my daughter. Celebrated my daughters 3rd birthday at CEC , The service was amazing Stacy our planner that works for Chuck E. Cheese Pasadena , was on top of the whole party with perfect timing. She made sure all the guests and children were taken care of she truly cares about the kids having a great time . One thing that I loved about CEC is that they allowed for me to bring in a party planner , to help me decorate . I'm a full time working mom no time to go out and buy decorations so I contacted Mari from Mari Creations In Pasadena , and she made Chuck E. Cheese look amazing all my guests were wowed when they walked in , the decor was beautiful she is very trustworthy and makes dreams come true , made Chuck e cheese basic party, look like a fairy tail . Mari is very responsive with messages and works with your budget , My daughter was extremely happy with her decor . Hopefully all of us had the opportunity to attend a birthday party a CEC once while growing up. However now that we ourselves become adult and have a family with kids, we find ways to celebrate and entertain our kids. So my 3 year old had a b day coming, so we did the water slide party, we did the indoor playground, what was next? When you want something easy and fun, I decided on CEC. But being the first time hosting, I was not sure what to expect. Went to the website had 3 packages to choose from $15,$20,$25 per kid. Depending on your budget, We had a small group, so we got the $25 package w/unlimited games. We took the 11am to 1pm time slot. The day we got there on time 11am, Emily who was our host/assistant. She explained everything to me patiently and detailed the event and schedule of what will happen. You know that feeling when you talk to someone that sense of calm and everything will be ok bestows on you. Well thats what Emily gave me and it was PERFECT. I am here to spend money, let my kids have a good time and relax somewhat to meet and greet the parents. *** GAME MACHINES*** Great selection of games and machines for entertaining and tickets, more than I expected, as per some reviews stated, yes some machines were out of order, but not that many, we just move on. Things happen in life its not a big deal, plus a 3 year old doesn't event know when there is a token credit or no credit in the machine he just plays. ***FOOD*** Well its pizza at CEC not Mama Portillo Fine Italian restaurant, kids ate it and didn't complain. Adults just had pizza and wings as well, just the bare minimum per my suggestion. ***CLEANLINESS*** Maybe we got the first time slot they just opened, so we thought everything was ok. What do you expect with 100's of kids with oily pizza fingers running around. ***PARTY PACKAGE*** The overall package was pretty nice, the sports bottle for the kids, the piñata and the whirl wind ticket machine. Mr. CEC came by and took a few pictures. The kids were fascinated but somewhat cautious. LOL. ***AFTER EFFECTS*** After 1pm, we were ask to move to the side tables, since they had another bigger group coming, which was more than ok. We stayed about 40min after to finish cashing in the tickets, letting the kids pick the prizes and cleaning them up. Getting back in the car the kids were knocked out in 5 min. ***KIDS OVERVIEW*** 1 to 10 = 10, they had unlimited candy, drinks and fun. Just let go for the 2 hours and the phrase from CEC applies. "WHERE A KID CAN BE A KID" When the final bill came, again Emily was there to itemized the detail and explain to me all the charges, at no time did I feel rush or uncomfortable. It was really a pleasant experience. If fun is what you are seeking for ages 3-8year old, I think this is the place any younger or older might not be the best fit in my opinion. But for us it was the perfect day. The only reason why I wrote such a detail review, is because of the effect CEC left on me and the kids. Which was a positive one. read more

We come to this location frequently. Sometimes a couple times a week. We've actually gone out of our way to come to this particular location, mainly because of the staff and because the games usually all work, and we can always count on the food to be cooked well. Any minor issues that have come up, Management is always quick to remedy it. We can count on the staff that work the floors whenever a machine runs out of tickets or glitches. They are quick to fix them. The staff is what really makes this location the best. They are attentive, but genuine. They seem to enjoy working there and even though they run a tight ship, they also remember to have fun. From what I've noticed, as we have been there so frequently and during all shifts, all the managers are great at dealing with conflict. And let's just be honest, some customers are just so hard to deal with. And you can't get along with everybody. However, these managers are very skilled at negotiating conflict. I've watched as they deescalate situations, and without giving away a whole lot. And even the staff on the floor, inexperienced as they may be, do a great job in handling difficult situations. For example, last week, one of our many favorite employees working the floor, had the task of informing me that another patron had made a complaint on my son and I, that we had taken to long at a game we were playing. And sure. We've been guilty of that. Most of the time we do share nice. After I get the bonus rounds I will happily step aside. And when it's giving out tickets obviously I'm going to wait for the tickets. Or if the tickets run out before dispensing all of them, I'm going to wait. But some parents will continue to question that logic and be mad. You can't please everyone.. My son is good at trolls. He's always getting the 100 tickets. I can't even get 5 to save my life. But he loves it and he's good at it. There are 2 other sides that people can play at, so if he's stuck there for a bit, I don't see the problem with that. But most kids just see the tickets we've won and then want to play. And after a minute usually walk away not understanding why they didn't win a pile of tickets on the first try. But I know a lot of parents just want their kids to go play so they can get peace and don't have a clue how any of the games work and no interest in playing them. Been there done that. So I thanked him for letting us know. I could tell it was difficult for him. He's not there to referee parents. But he has to be fair to all patrons and take all complaints with a serious interest. And he was nothing but professional about it. And we just paid more attention to those around us or waiting for a machine. Management and staff handles customers very well. From the entitled, to the regulars like our family and all the other families that are regulars (that we've now gotten to know beyond just recognizing that their face is familiar..) My son can be a handful. It's nice to know that he has this safe place to freely run around. (Although running is prohibited, and mildly enforced for safety). Obviously, I still keep an eye on him. But it's reassuring that the staff will let me know if they see him being mischievous. And they counterbalance that by also giving him lots of positive attention as well. The staff actually does more than the typical greeting. They get to know the kids and the kids at heart, (developmentally disabled), that come through there, and they seem to enjoy connecting to them and families as well. As a parent, it makes the whole experience much more enjoyable when the staff is so positive and happy. When they genuinely seem to enjoy their job. And they seem happy to see my son when he comes in. Or if we miss a week or two, ask how we've been. Other locations may be friendly, I'm not saying they aren't. However, no other location has staff as stellar as this team. Which is why we always come to this location. And have had our friends from Fontana make the trek here instead of even meeting at a chuckE's mid way. I can't say enough good things about this team and this location. Cheese so she could have time and most games weren't working not only that but when we asked one of the guys to fix them (Carlos ) he was so rude and said well if this one doesn't work move on to the next game I said most aren't working he said then you'll have to wait and stared to have a conversation with other employee while we just waited 15 minutes later we asked again and he said ok I'll be there to fix it which he took 15 more minutes to go fix it and laugh ... don't know why people like this get a job in places they don't like working in read more

After looking at the reviews for this location, I'm gonna say that the Chuck E. Cheese's experience pretty much comes down to two variables: the staff serving your party on a particular day and the rest of the customers partying while you're there. We received stellar service on a Saturday afternoon. The servers may be young, but they're pros and they work hard to take care of the basics of food, service, etc., all while kids run around screaming underfoot and music blasts. And I guarantee they don't get paid enough. As for who's in attendance, that's up to fate and there's nothing the workers can do to prevent jerks from coming in and being themselves. We did pretty well overall. I just wish that, having paid so much for a kid's party, I would have gotten the sense that my money was going to the people actually working to give my kid a great birthday instead of some managers in a faraway office who were pressuring their employees to upsell me on drinks and pizza. They are very strict on who can enter and leave. My 16 year old friend was not allowed to leave. they asked to see the adult. all I needed her to do was go out to the car and get something but they made me go with her. Then we ordered three drinks but they never gave us the cups. So when I went up to tell them I never got the cups they had to check my receipt. Some of the games did not work and we seemed to scan the card more than once and it may have deducted points because it lit up yellow but didn't start. My one gripe about this place is that the employee who was assigned to our party was wearing a leather bracelet that had strands hanging and while he was cutting the cake, his bracelet dipped into the cake. That is super unsanitary!!! Who knows where that bracelet has touched and I'm sure he definitely did not wash it or take it off each time he went to the bathroom. My best friends son's 4th birthday party. It was a great success. Chunky came out and spent a good amount of time with all the kids that were in our party. The staff made our party enjoyable. It's nice to know as young as they are, they enjoy they're job! When the birthday boy entered the ticket blast, and just couldn't get as much tickets we all hoped he would, the nice lady working the blast machine made sure the adorable birthday boy relieved bundles of tickets. I've heard great things about birthday parties at this location but people warned me that the service was not great...so NOT true. Had my daughter's 3rd birthday here and the service was AMAZING. Booked my party online since they had promotions for online booking. The Party Coordinator called me 3 days before to confirm everything and even helped me streamline my menu based on their experiences. I had ordered 10 medium pizzas for the 30 adults we were having and they suggested 3 XL pizzas instead. Price was cheaper as 3 XL. I was hesitant but the quantity was spot on! Basically saved me almost $200 by switching. During the party the manager Stacey was so attentive and constantly checking in with me to make sure everything was ok and to touch base on what was next (cake, singing, wrap up).
