"Since I'm craving Jin tea (next door to this spot), let's go browse color me mine to see if there's anything I'd like to paint?" They charge a studio fee of $12 and then you pay for whatever the price amount of the ceramic you'd like to paint. My mug was about $24. I had my service pup Frida w/ me and they were super chill about it. The hack to this spot is to come on a weekday when it's dead for those who have that choice! This place is so cute. I made the cutest little bowl ever and had such a fun time. The pricing is pretty reasonable. You pay a fixed amount for the paint, then for whichever item you choose to paint. My daughter and her Girl Scouts troop had an event at this location a couple of weeks ago. The space is clean, well organized and had a ton of different unpainted ceramic pieces to choose from ranging from animals to dinnerware items to decorative items. It's a huge selection!! What really stood out to us was the excellent customer service the girls received from the staff! One staff member, Krow really stood out. She was so kind and knowledgeable and just made the entire experience that much better! Love the environment and concept of coloring pottery... but we walked in on a Saturday at 1:15pm.. We were told we needed to be done by 2:30pm. By the time we selected our pieces and started, we only had 45 minutes left. The studio workers kept coming by telling us we needed to finish. My invoice sheet was collected 10 minutes after we started. It just felt so rushed and not as enjoyable as it could have been. When 2:30pm, time was up... there were still lots of empty tables. We were told, since we were walk in, we had to finish at 2:30pm with everyone who started earlier in that time slot. I think since there were many empty tables, staff could have given us a little more time, so we didn't have to rush to vacate. Also, maybe they can start your time at when you actually start, rather then set time slots, having to end with others even when you started much later. It just felt very rushed and not enjoyable, when staff would come by every 10 minutes telling us your time will be up soon, 2:30pm. read more

What a fun date idea! Yes it is expensive but the experience is pretty calming and overall enjoyable. We made a reservation and basically they give you 2 hours from your reservation time. This means if you end up coming late your time will just be less which isn't too big of a deal if you're a little late. You first walk around and select which type of pottery you want to color. The prices are what you'd pay plus $12 per person for studio fee. Yes it'll easily add to be about $40-$50 per person after everything even if you purchase the cheapest pieces. After choosing the pottery that we wanted, we selected 6 colors that we wanted to paint with. This paint is refillable so don't worry about running out. I ended up painting a monkey coin piggy bank ($22) while my wife painted a bowl ($27). After the two hours were up, we went to the front and paid for the things we got. In total it was $85 dollars, yikes! The weird part is that they ask for tip as well which 18% is the lowest options, pretty steep for something that we majority service ourselves. Overall this was a fun experience if you need something to do with friends or a significant other. Make sure to make reservations because it does fill up. You pickup the items about a week later so hopefully my monkey piggy bank turns out well! Parking - Nearby lots but I like parking at Delacey lot since its $1 for the first 2 hours. UPDATE - They called me 4 days later and I picked up my items the Saturday after. They came out better than I was expecting so that's awesome. Will say pickup took some time because they seemed unorganized and couldn't find my items for about 10-15 minutes. Would recommend maybe calling ahead the day of pickup so they can have it found and ready for you when you arrive. read more

This is my favorite Color Me Mine that is located around me. The ambiance is relaxing, and the music sets the vibe. The place is dog friendly, mine, Suki, was allowed to sit down with me!! The workers are extremely friendly and always tend to check up on customers frequently. There is a variety of ceramic pieces to choose from and their own water bowls is a ceramic piece itself, which I love! I will be coming back here, worth the 20 min drive :) read more

I've been going to Color Me Mine since I was a kid, and this location in Old Town Pasadena absolutely lives up to what I love about this business. I've now visited twice: once just to browse with my son, and most recently on Sunday, 11/24 with my boyfriend's 4-year-old daughter. The customer service here is truly outstanding. When I called around 3:30 to check availability, the woman on the phone was incredibly helpful and friendly. She let me know they were busy but had a spot for us. Life with a four-year-old meant I lost track of time, and an employee actually called me back at 3:40 to let me know a large group had walked in, offering us a 5:30 slot instead. Here's where they really went above and beyond: I didn't listen to the voicemail until I was literally walking into the store around 3:45. When I made eye contact with the employee (I wish I'd gotten her name!), she gave me a knowing look and could have easily turned us away since I was late and hadn't responded to her call. Instead, she was incredibly kind and gracious, and actually found two seats for us right then and there! My girl was able to pick out and paint a little cat statue in about 10 minutes. On a previous visit, when I just came in to browse with my son, the employees were equally courteous and informative. Every single person I've interacted with at this location has been wonderful. Regarding pricing: yes, the pieces are expensive, and there's a $12 studio fee per painter. But this is a special activity, not an everyday thing. You're creating something unique that gets fired in a kiln. The location is prime Old Town Pasadena real estate. When I asked about the studio fee, they immediately clarified it was only for people actually painting, not for me as an observer. A simple question cleared that up with no confusion and no hidden fees. If you're planning to visit, just come in with the understanding that you'll be spending some money for a quality experience. The staff here makes it absolutely worth it with their kindness, patience, and willingness to accommodate customers. Highly recommend! read more

This is such a cute activity to do! I came by with my mom for a girls day and though it's on the pricier side depending on your item of choice, it's worth the core memory. They charge $12/pp (includes the painting/cleaning fee) and + $$ for whichever item(s) you choose. They have little paint dishes on the table as well has brushes and pens/sharpie for you to write which number of color you'd like the worker to fill up for you. After they fill it up, you're able to use your creative mind and imagination to decorate as you please. They say it takes about 7-14 days for them you finish glazing your product but it took less than 7 days for my items to be picked up! read more

i was really disappointed at the service provided here, but had an overall good time otherwise. we didn't have a reservation and did a walk-in for 3 people. it was pretty crowded so we were seated outside. we had almost an hour and a half to pick out an item and paint, which wasn't entirely enough time in my opinion. by the time we chose our item and got our paints, we had about 45 minutes left of our time there so it felt a bit rushed for me. since we were seated outside it was hard to get the workers' attention if we needed extra paint or had questions so we'd have to go in and out of the shop to ask for things, so i found it a little inconvenient. once we were seated, there wasn't really much direction given other than to choose our paint colors. i was hoping they would give us a little guidance and tips on the process. our brushes were also not the best, so it was a little hard to work with. it was ready within a week or so for pick up. some of the colors came out darker than i thought it would've, but i think it still ended up looking decent enough. read more

Ok. Hear me out. I'm well over 21 and have walked past enough Color Me Mine's to fill the entire Northern Hemisphere (maybe not) and its ALWAYS empty. Empty! So why is it that this is my first time and the place was completely full. No empty table in sight. Honestly I wanted a relaxing and chill vibe to paint my soap dish but it was just too crowded and loud. Didn't take away any stars because that's just me and I am comparing this to my pottery experience. The 1 star knock off is the price. Just way too expensive for a simple soap dish. I'll be finding a less busy location. But this location is probably cute for a date! read more
