We had a blast at Kidspace children's museum! It is such a great place for the family! The museum staff were kind and friendly! Clean family bathrooms & facilities. The check in was also quick and easy.

We made a last minute reservation for Sunday 4/26 with our membership. Morning slots were sold out so we got 12pm. We arrived a little before 1pm. Today they had two special events: 1) meet a mermaid, and 2) party in paradise (Guam dancers). Today was particularly busy with Ronald McDonald House run from 9-11am and free admission for those who participated. Love that Kidspace has themed events to keep families coming! Lots of beautiful themed decorations in the front entrance and right as you walk through. We went straight to the reading area to get in line for meet the mermaid. We waited about 15 minutes. The mermaid was very friendly and played the part well. There were lots of Kidspace photographers. Next we went to the 1:30pm "party in paradise" performance at the outdoor amphitheater. My girls' (almost 5 & 7yo) favorite is the craft room. Today's activity was still the paper butterfly cutouts (we came on 3/30). They could spend the whole visit in the craft room! Los Trompos is also another favorite! Other favorites we didn't get to today: muddy boots farm, blue ocean area, arts/crafts up at the top of the hill, tricycles, climbing structures (2 indoor, 1 outdoor). My youngest really wanted to do the pressurized water bottle experiment. It wasn't working properly today, but a little boy showed us the trick. Tip: press low, high, AND bottom row buttons all at the same time. Watch the stick rise, the water fill up, then shoot up! Shout out to Events Director, Michael, who is always friendly and helpful! Thank you for saying hi!

Such an amazing kid's museum! So many things to do for all ages, truly. We came here on a whim and left thoroughly impressed. And we probably only saw half of the things/exhibits they actually have there! From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be an eventful day. And special shoutout to Liv at the front check-in desk! She was so sweet and helpful and really kicked off our great museum visit. We will DEF be back!!

My kids love kidspace. We've had a membership for two years and plan to keep renewing it. The seasonal sock skating is my kids favorite. But anytime we come here it's always a good time. We wished we lived closer to make more frequent trips but for now we don't mind the drive. There's food options if you forgot some snacks. There is water. So bring some extra clothes and towels if your little one likes to jump in the water.

We've been bringing our kids to Kidspace Children's Museum for years, our oldest is 9 and they still love it. Great activities for kids of all ages, especially the outdoor area. Lots of hands-on fun and space to explore. Tickets are about $16 and parking is free. Always a good family outing.

We spent the whole time exploring, there's so much to do, from activities with shapes and nature to the ocean-themed areas. It really felt like a big adventure for the little ones. It seems like a great spot for a mix of ages, too, definitely good for babies, toddlers, and young school kids. Our granddaughter absolutely loved it and actually learned a lot while playing. We will definitely be adding this one to her list of regular activities!

Sorry this is a late review from spring. Went here with my godson and his family. There is a playground before you arrive at the entrance. A lot of parking available too. Tickets were bought via their website. There are some seasonal themes here. You can see a lot of florals and bugs in their display since it is springtime. One of the most fun activities is the tricycle ride. They provide the kids helmets. There's a mud, kitchen, small stream, indoor activities, small outdoor shop, main shop, a small restaurant with outdoor seating. I would say you can enjoy the place in 1-2 hours. Children five years old and above will appreciate Kidspace in my opinion. Nice place to learn about science and also to get some fresh air.

Perfect for a 3-year-old! Kidspace is a top-tier "yes" for toddlers because it prioritizes sensory play and independence. We have a membership and visit about once a month. Imagination Workshop: A hands-on studio where toddlers use "loose parts" and recycled materials to build, explore textures, and create. Muddy Boot Farm: High-level role-play where they can "harvest" crops and use wheelbarrows. Arroyo Pequeño: A gentle, toddler-scaled stream perfect for splashing and water engineering. - Bring a Change of Clothes: Your toddler will get wet or muddy. A towel and spare outfit are essential. - Parking: Free in Rose Bowl Lot I, but it's a short walk--bring a stroller for a 3-year-old. - The Vibe: It feels like a high-end, nature-based playground that sparks genuine curiosity. It does get crowded after school and during weekends but I find the parents and the littles wonderfully happy and energetic.

Pasadena charm meets a kid's paradise! This center is an amazing creative hub tucked into the beautiful, sprawling Brookside Park. Weekend crowds are definitely a thing, but with a massive pirate ship playground and 3.5 acres of hands-on fun, the kids are way too focused on their next adventure to care! It's a must-visit for any local family.

This is such a unique place for kids. The minute we walked in we were engaged. There is so many different areas to explore. My 4 year old had a blast. It was a great day with the family. You can bring your own food or get food delivered. We had a cheese pizza and I was surprised how good it was. There is a water stream that the kids can walk up and down in. We brought extra swim clothes, sandals and a towel. Best part is that kids can explore and adults can sit back and watch them play.

Perfect for kids under 6, lots of tired parents, cranky teachers and hyper screaming children. Out in the sun, mostly outdoors so bring sunblock, umbrella, hat, comfy clothes and shoes. I noticed some parents sat deflated on a bench or table as their kids ran rampant and wild. I went with the school I work at so I was forced to go. I don't particularly enjoy large groups of kids, especially the coughing, sneezing ones. Overall I could see the appeal of it, parents kind of let the kids run around and the parents kind of sit back and chill. Lots of interactive activities, butterfly exhibit, rock climbing wall, koi pond, bike area, tree house area, river, maze, store and cafe.

I take my 4 year old niece here every once in a while and it's a really great way to keep kids occupied for a couple hours. I like how there's a mixture of fun, learning, and crafting. As a person who love science, I was thrilled with their outdoor area with lots of physics activities to do! It was fun to teach my niece why some things happened but I will say she didn't really understand. This area might be more fun for older kids. Inside, her favorite is the craft area. Today, we made "winter wands". I think this is the best craft we've made so far! On a previous visit, we made a book. This might be fun for older kids but my niece can't read yet so she didn't enjoy it that much. However, the wands she loved and she already asked me to come over to her house and play with the wands together! Outside, her favorite activity was the tricycles and the ice building blocks. Usually, during other seasons, there would be sing-along shows in the amphitheater but during winter, they cancel all shows and put out plastic ice blocks. My niece made some friends and played "elsa" inside their ice house. We also enjoyed the farm area and the boat sand area. Kids space also has a sock skating rink for $5.50 extra if you'd like to participate. When I was a kid, I loved coming here and now, it's so cool to take my niece back and do some of the same activities I loved to do more than ten years ago. (my favorite was the ant hill but my niece is scared of it )

Ask the Community - Kidspace Children's Museum

Is this place appropriate for a 11 year old?

Yes, absolutely. There's a lot to explore.

Is this place suitable for a one year old who just started walking?

yes- absolutely!

Is there anywhere to buy lunch? Or bringing one is suggested?

They have a little cafe that specializes in healthy food for kids and adults. Small, tasty menu.

Would my 8 year old daughter enjoy this place? I took her when she was 4 and wondering if she would enjoy it at her age. Thanks

Our party included adults 50's to 70's and girls 6, 8, & 9. Everyone enjoyed it! It's especially perfect on a great weather day because the kids can enjoy both the indoor and outdoor activities.

Ticket sale at door or online only?

I would buy online just to be safe because it's timed entry, that keeps it from getting too crowded or bottlenecked. It's free play but some activities are more popular or kids want to do them multiple times in a row etc so it can get busy at peak… Read more

I want to celebrate my daughter's birthday, but it would be a super tiny gathering of no more than 10 people so the birthday package is waay too much for us. Is there a place I can bring my own cake to cut?

There places to sit inside and outside the facility. There are picnic tables next to their playground which is an excellent place to serve the cake. I've only gone on field trips with large groups. We always brought our lunch and ate outside near… Read more

How long to go through the whole museum. Kids are 5 and 10?

30-60 min.

Can we purchase tickets in person?

yes but you still purchase from a QR code on your phone.

Is outdoor food and drinks allowed in the park for my child?

Yes, you may bring your own food and drinks. There are plenty of spaces to eat. We also have a cafe with food for purchase.

Would this be a good place to visit if it is rainy/wet out?

Much of the campus and activities are outdoors. We are open in the rain but some areas close with excess rain. We have an indoor area with climbing and building activities plus a nature center with hands-on learning.

Can the kids wear uggs?

Yes, if the weather is dry. If it rains and their soles are wet they might slip in some areas or on the climbing structures.

I would like to gift my nephews a 1 year membership. They are 9.5 and 8 yo. Would this museum be a little bit boring to them? Would they find it too childish for their age?

Hi Wendy, Kidspace is geared toward children under age 12. If your nephews are curious kids who like to explore, play, learn and experience new things, there will be plenty for them to do. A membership is a beautiful gift that keeps giving all year.… Read more

Hi there! I would like to purchase tickets for my son for his birthday this December-- however, all the dates in a December are not able to be clicked on for purchase. How can I purchase december tix as soon as possible? Thanks!

December tickets will be available soon. What date are you looking for?

When should we expect the Winter Festival decorations and activities? I want to bring my 2 year old back to visit. He had a great time the first time. Thanks 🙂

Hello Elmira! Winter Frolic starts this Friday and runs through January 8, 2023. Tickets are available now through the end of the month on our website. Hope to see you soon!

Do they currently require mask indoors for children? My 3 y/o has autism and refuses to wear one. I dont want to drive all the way there and get kicked out for this reason. Asking in June 2022

No, they don't they just recommend them. If you have any other questions, you can always phone them straight away they're very helpful.

Are the areas of the museum suitable for a two year old currently open?

Is this a place for a 7 month old and parents or better for toddlers and families?

As of 07/28/21, our indoor spaces like our Early Childhood Learning Center are closed (best for children 3 and under). Our museums are built for children 10 and under, but it might be best to wait until September 2021 when our indoor spaces reopen.… Read more

Is admission purchased online? At the entry? I've messaged with customer service through email and I haven't been able to get a straight answer. Are the tickets online ( see available tickets) here on Yelp different from general admission?

You can either purchase them via yelp or purchase them when you get there. I think they might be cheaper thru yelp.

What day is the butterfly release this year?

Hi Mariana, The Kidspace Butterfly Season is March 16 through April 30. We will have a kick-off… Read more

Is there any area that's good for 1 year old?

There's a small padded toddler only area as you enter. The rest of the museum is more geared for school aged children. But it's still explorable for a 1 year old.

Nothing can beat the fact that it's free admission (but $20 parking), but this trip was devastating. So many of the exhibits I loved as a kid are no longer operating, the bird simulators have 2 balls to share among 6 booths, the buttons for many things are gone, there's no marble to represent an elephant baby's metaphorical marble maze through life, Tess the giant body animatronic is unviewable, the outdoor water play area is closed off, the ROV is no longer displayed and the simulator is broken, etc. Some recent reviews here are posted this week but clearly are from many years back, Endeavor has not been on display for close to 3 years (but it will be when the Samuel Oschin Space Exhibit opens Nov 17, 2026!), currently there's a physical motion exhibit where endeavor previously was. I completely forgot to check it out but the photos are cool and they've put the old rock climbing wall that was next to the teleprompter, here now. But the aquarium is still top notch, tons of fish a child gave me a thrilling lecture on the difference between tiger, leopard, and lemon sharks (He told me lemon and tiger sharks are neon yellow, I strongly believe him). You can pet an urchin, a sea slug, or a star fish depending on the day but the hand dryers after are broken. The foxes, lizards, tortoises, and bugs are all living their best lives. There's a nice sitting place on the top floor to relax away from it all. Still deeply love this Science Center, but I wish they'd secure some funding to bring some life back to many of their exhibits, but I'm really excited for the Space Center to be ready! 100% worth a visit when that opens.

For those who may not know, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, is free from 3 to 5 p.m…read more maybe only on weekdays but maybe weekends too. I am not sure, but most of the information is right, if one is compelled they can fact-broaden my statement. I went to take advantage of this offer but it was June 19th and in honor of the holiday everyone got in for free on this day. But apparently it was a last minute decision. So poor reporting seems to be more like offering information as it comes, not in a malicious way, or incompetent way, more in like the town crier gives what he knows in excitement and it is the responsibility of hearers to know what to do with the information, including vetting it responsibly or accepting it as a gift when given by surprise, even though it could have come in handy earlier. So I entered and I made a beeline to the Butterfly Pavillion. I think it was 12 dollars and worth every single cent. And I write that as a full-blown understatement because exaggeration did not seem the way to go. Like saying this place was worth more than 12 dollars, it was worth the weight of a camel's back in gold. The experience was beautiful. And that statement can be easily understood. I mean butterfly garden + momentary visit= beautiful. But more than that it was a type of beautiful that I had not experience before. It was a new facet of nature's beauty that I experienced. Mostly because I had never interacted with butterflies in this way. For instance, there was a butterfly with wings that were a strong bold blue, almost neon, and for sure, vibrant. Like a royal blue not because it was that shade but because amongst blues it would have palatial lineage in its shade. We were warned that butterflies might be on the ground. And on two experiences two were. The first I encountered was not flying. And the younger members of the experience made sure to announce the butterflies presence and its vulnerability. I feel like sometime in this place's history a butterfly did get stepped on. And for no other reason, than the natural happens. In the second occasion, a butterfly was trying to fly or stand still and could not because the winds made it topple. During that moment a butterfly apparently landed on my back. Man people, if not all, wonder if a butterfly will land on them? And what it would mean? I mean, it could be good news. Saying that a butterfly landing on a person is an omen of disaster does quite fit the visual of the insect and what horror brings. A butterfly did land on my wrist and of course one can't help but feel special. Like, the butterfly chose me and its trying to communicate something. Something important that the universe wants me to hear. What exactly that is? I am not sure. I need to reflect on that later or I will know when the butterfly effects comes clearer in time.

I am finally visiting the Natural History Museum, not only that but I'm also super excited to go to…read morethe Orca Exhibit with a friend of mine who's also a whale lover. We arrived at 9:30am. The security at the Garden area miscommunicated what we needed to do. She told us to go check in at the ticket booth so we waited in line even though we had tickets only to be told to go back to her to get the bracelet.. we basically waited in a line that was not needed. That was a little annoying to say the least and not a good first impression. Thankfully we were early and our excitement took over fast enough to brush that off. We made it in! As we walked through the museum, we peeked into some of the different rooms on our what to the Orcas Exhibit and were excited to see more. We made it with our additional tickets purchased for this part of the museum since the Orca Exhibit is considered a special exhibit. It was totally worth it to see a life size whale replica of Ruffles! As we migrated around to a Dino room, we heard the PA system go on.. sadly we had NO idea what they were saying. Were we being told about some limited time special at the guest shop or caf or was this a serious matter.. we didn't understand what the PA system was saying so we heard the message again and then again to finally understand that we were going to be sheltering in place due to a dangerous situation near by. Well first, it shouldn't take more than one message to know that there is a situation happening .. second of all, it was really tough to find any employee around to ask what was said or what was happening. That was a little disappointed but we were happy that they took precaution to keep us safe by sheltering in place (thank you for that). As we wandered around hungry and thirsty (no outside food or drinks are allowed) we were trying to keep each other calm while also hearing the helicopter circling around the area. Thankfully we finally found someone that asked us if we had any questions which we did. As he realized that we had been at the museum since this morning and had already been through all the exhibits including the orca one (which we noticed no longer required the additional tickets) he was kind enough to share a room with us with some snacks and water. (The museum refunded us the Orca exhibit fee, thank you for that) Over all: Emergency communication: When the shelter-in-place announcement came over the PA system, it took multiple repetitions before we could understand what was being said. In an urgent situation, clarity on the first announcement is critical. It also took considerable effort to locate a staff member who could tell us what was happening. I'd strongly encourage reviewing both PA audio quality and staff visibility protocols for emergencies. Check-in process: When we arrived at 9:30am, the security staff at the Garden area gave us unclear instructions. We were directed to wait in line at the ticket booth despite already having tickets, only to be sent back to get our bracelets. A small thing, but worth noting for future visitors. I do want to sincerely thank the staff member who eventually found us, recognized we had been there since opening, and kindly provided us with water and snacks while we waited. That gesture meant a lot. He also went above and beyond when another guest needed assistance; the kind of care he showed is exactly what you'd hope to see. I really wish I would have gotten his name to give him the proper recognition he deserved. Would I go back? Yes, in the hopes of a much smoother, less stressful type of experience. The dinosaurs are amazing to see and get perspective on how huge they were.

That independent spirit was quite charming to see. ~ WATERCOLOR NATURESCAPE ~ We were fortunate to have our gracious host lead us on a tour and organize a special art crafting experience outdoors. It was absolutely lovely beneath the trees and between rusted vintage cars from the turn of the century. We each got a small canvas to paint our flowers in watercolor. (This particular experience takes place in the Spring and Fall, weather permitting.) We heard the squirrels rattling in the leaves and birds chirped and sang in the trees above. We discovered that peacocks apparently originated from this property, compliments of Michael Rubel. And did I mention that on the far side of the property, a custom garden was in full bloom? BOOK A TOUR Help support the Glendora Historical Society and keep this magnificently unique city-castle maintained. It's worth it.

A castle in Glendora? Yes, your eyes aren't deceiving you--Rubel Castle is real, it's magnificent,…read moreand it's gloriously eccentric. Thanks to the sheer persistence (and probably delightful stubbornness) of Michael Rubel, we now have this quirky, towering State Treasure sitting right in the middle of Glendora like a fairy tale that accidentally took a detour through a hardware store. This place is beautifully done, and part of its charm is that it's a full-on hodgepodge of relics, antiques, crystal trinkets, and "wait... what is that doing here?" moments tucked into every nook and cranny. You'll marvel, you'll laugh, you'll squint in confusion--honestly, it's everything you'd want in a castle built with love, imagination, and a dash of madness. And let's talk about the makeshift cemetery. Quirky? YES. Fun? Absolutely. Slightly spooky? Only if your imagination is over-caffeinated. But it fits the vibe perfectly--like the castle whispered, "You know what I'm missing? A tiny cemetery." The tours are fantastic, the guides are passionate, and the whole experience feels like you're stepping into a living scrapbook of California history and charming chaos. Overall: Amazing, amazing place. Book your tour. They only do tours every first Sunday of the month, so set your alarms, mark your calendars, tie a string around your finger--just don't miss it. Rubel Castle is truly a California State Treasure, and an absolute must-see for anyone who appreciates creativity, history, and a little eccentric sparkle.

It's a nice park with historic trains to explore and a small train ride, very fun for kids! The ride goes around the whole park twice and costs $4 per person. We saw a 1-year-old birthday party set up with tables and a tent. We saw families having picnics with kids and dogs. It was not crowded on a Saturday around 3pm. There was no wait for the train ride, and it was easy to go up into the historic train cars that allow access. They have dining cars and private party areas available for rent for relatively low fees ($75 for picnic areas, $150 for dining cars, each accommodating ~30 people). There is a pretty elaborate train model setup to watch, and a play area, but kids need to bring their own train toys to play there. There is also a gift shop with souvenirs, train toys (which kids can then play with in the play area), candy and ice cream. The restrooms are park restrooms, so they're relatively clean but definitely not luxury. It's cool for the adults that enjoy looking at the historic trains, and it's fun for kids to run around, play and explore! It's pretty amazing for a free museum.

I came to visit and was greeted by Jackie, a young blue eyed and beautiful woman, at the reception desk. She was informative and affable. Let me tell you about this center, the history of the stone barn dates to 1898 when the property was acquired by George Le Mesnager, a French emigrant and prominent Los Angeles vintner, from Dr. Benjamin Briggs, the founder of La Crescenta. Between 1914 and 1918, George's son Louis constructed the original stone barn and shed along with several other buildings that no longer exist. They were used for storing equipment and grapes until 1920, when Prohibition ended the winemaking industry and forced the Le Mesnagers into the water industry. As the turn of the century, this center is a place to learn about the wild animals in the Cresenta valley and LA County. It's a great place for kids and family. Overall, it's a nice center to bring kids or kids at heart.
