Such an amazing kid's museum! So many things to do for all ages, truly. We came here on a whim and left thoroughly impressed. And we probably only saw half of the things/exhibits they actually have there! From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be an eventful day. And special shoutout to Liv at the front check-in desk! She was so sweet and helpful and really kicked off our great museum visit. We will DEF be back!!

Pasadena charm meets a kid's paradise! This center is an amazing creative hub tucked into the beautiful, sprawling Brookside Park. Weekend crowds are definitely a thing, but with a massive pirate ship playground and 3.5 acres of hands-on fun, the kids are way too focused on their next adventure to care! It's a must-visit for any local family.

We've been bringing our kids to Kidspace Children's Museum for years, our oldest is 9 and they still love it. Great activities for kids of all ages, especially the outdoor area. Lots of hands-on fun and space to explore. Tickets are about $16 and parking is free. Always a good family outing.

We spent the whole time exploring, there's so much to do, from activities with shapes and nature to the ocean-themed areas. It really felt like a big adventure for the little ones. It seems like a great spot for a mix of ages, too, definitely good for babies, toddlers, and young school kids. Our granddaughter absolutely loved it and actually learned a lot while playing. We will definitely be adding this one to her list of regular activities!

My kids love kidspace. We've had a membership for two years and plan to keep renewing it. The seasonal sock skating is my kids favorite. But anytime we come here it's always a good time. We wished we lived closer to make more frequent trips but for now we don't mind the drive. There's food options if you forgot some snacks. There is water. So bring some extra clothes and towels if your little one likes to jump in the water.

Sorry this is a late review from spring. Went here with my godson and his family. There is a playground before you arrive at the entrance. A lot of parking available too. Tickets were bought via their website. There are some seasonal themes here. You can see a lot of florals and bugs in their display since it is springtime. One of the most fun activities is the tricycle ride. They provide the kids helmets. There's a mud, kitchen, small stream, indoor activities, small outdoor shop, main shop, a small restaurant with outdoor seating. I would say you can enjoy the place in 1-2 hours. Children five years old and above will appreciate Kidspace in my opinion. Nice place to learn about science and also to get some fresh air.

This is such a unique place for kids. The minute we walked in we were engaged. There is so many different areas to explore. My 4 year old had a blast. It was a great day with the family. You can bring your own food or get food delivered. We had a cheese pizza and I was surprised how good it was. There is a water stream that the kids can walk up and down in. We brought extra swim clothes, sandals and a towel. Best part is that kids can explore and adults can sit back and watch them play.

Perfect for kids under 6, lots of tired parents, cranky teachers and hyper screaming children. Out in the sun, mostly outdoors so bring sunblock, umbrella, hat, comfy clothes and shoes. I noticed some parents sat deflated on a bench or table as their kids ran rampant and wild. I went with the school I work at so I was forced to go. I don't particularly enjoy large groups of kids, especially the coughing, sneezing ones. Overall I could see the appeal of it, parents kind of let the kids run around and the parents kind of sit back and chill. Lots of interactive activities, butterfly exhibit, rock climbing wall, koi pond, bike area, tree house area, river, maze, store and cafe.

I take my 4 year old niece here every once in a while and it's a really great way to keep kids occupied for a couple hours. I like how there's a mixture of fun, learning, and crafting. As a person who love science, I was thrilled with their outdoor area with lots of physics activities to do! It was fun to teach my niece why some things happened but I will say she didn't really understand. This area might be more fun for older kids. Inside, her favorite is the craft area. Today, we made "winter wands". I think this is the best craft we've made so far! On a previous visit, we made a book. This might be fun for older kids but my niece can't read yet so she didn't enjoy it that much. However, the wands she loved and she already asked me to come over to her house and play with the wands together! Outside, her favorite activity was the tricycles and the ice building blocks. Usually, during other seasons, there would be sing-along shows in the amphitheater but during winter, they cancel all shows and put out plastic ice blocks. My niece made some friends and played "elsa" inside their ice house. We also enjoyed the farm area and the boat sand area. Kids space also has a sock skating rink for $5.50 extra if you'd like to participate. When I was a kid, I loved coming here and now, it's so cool to take my niece back and do some of the same activities I loved to do more than ten years ago. (my favorite was the ant hill but my niece is scared of it )

Kidspace is mostly an outdoor museum that's all about physics. I love that they have a lot of things to do outdoors because it's a nice change from all the indoors museums. My kids love playing with all of the physics activities. Some of them are a little challenging to figure out at first, but once you do, it's pretty fun! They have a pretend camping area, and my daughter loves that area. They also have a smaller river and pond area where the kids can get wet and play with toys. Indoors, they have a play structure where kids can pretend to be ants! They have a lot of role-play or pretend play areas. They also change themes and activities for the kids every couple of months. My kids also loved their small bike area, but it looks like it's mostly for younger kids. Although I did see a mom riding a small bike, so I guess there's no age limit. They have a food court with food, drinks, and snacks. We didn't buy anything there, but the options look pretty good. They also have more than one bathroom, which was great because kids have to go use the restroom urgently, and it's convenient to have a restroom close by to any of the locations inside the museum. I also have to mention that all the people that work there are so friendly and welcoming to kids! I love that! We had a nice time and will be back soon.

Went on another field trip to Kidspace museum! Entrance fee for kids and adult is $15.50. It's such a fun and magical place with so much to see and so much to do!!! I can't stop talking about how much I love this place!!!!!!!!! There's plenty of picnic tables and benches for you to sit and eat! There's a cafe where they sell drinks and food.. however, they do not accept cash so please accordingly! It's a cashless place. Give yourself plenty of time to explore. Bring snacks, water, drinks from Home! Bring extra clothes for your littles ones because they will want to get wet! Bring extra socks, shoes, and clothes. Trust me... they will get wet! Plenty of free parking!!! There's a playground in front that the kids love playing at.

I brought my granddaughter here. We had a little overnight trip to Pasadena and it did not disappoint. Im not going to say too much except for that she had a blast, I love that everything is very interactive and at the same time educational like you were learning science and stuff lol. We probably spent about four hours or so there, they have little snack vendors as well as a dining area where you can get your typical foods like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders ect. The place is actually a lot bigger than I thought it's pretty spread out and the kids will love it. Come check them out!!

Ask the Community - Kidspace Children's Museum

Is this place appropriate for a 11 year old?

Yes, absolutely. There's a lot to explore.

Is this place suitable for a one year old who just started walking?

    yes- absolutely!

Is there anywhere to buy lunch? Or bringing one is suggested?

They have a little cafe that specializes in healthy food for kids and adults. Small, tasty menu.

Would my 8 year old daughter enjoy this place? I took her when she was 4 and wondering if she would enjoy it at her age. Thanks

Our party included adults 50's to 70's and girls 6, 8, & 9. Everyone enjoyed it! It's especially perfect on a great weather day because the kids can enjoy both the indoor and outdoor activities.

Ticket sale at door or online only?

I would buy online just to be safe because it's timed entry, that keeps it from getting too crowded or bottlenecked. It's free play but some activities are more popular or kids want to do them multiple times in a row etc so it can get busy at peak… Read more

I want to celebrate my daughter's birthday, but it would be a super tiny gathering of no more than 10 people so the birthday package is waay too much for us. Is there a place I can bring my own cake to cut?

How long to go through the whole museum. Kids are 5 and 10?

    30-60 min.

Can we purchase tickets in person?

yes but you still purchase from a QR code on your phone.

Is outdoor food and drinks allowed in the park for my child?

Yes, you may bring your own food and drinks. There are plenty of spaces to eat. We also have a cafe with food for purchase.

Would this be a good place to visit if it is rainy/wet out?

Much of the campus and activities are outdoors. We are open in the rain but some areas close with excess rain. We have an indoor area with climbing and building activities plus a nature center with hands-on learning.

    Can the kids wear uggs?

Yes, if the weather is dry. If it rains and their soles are wet they might slip in some areas or on the climbing structures.

I would like to gift my nephews a 1 year membership. They are 9.5 and 8 yo. Would this museum be a little bit boring to them? Would they find it too childish for their age?

Hi Wendy, Kidspace is geared toward children under age 12. If your nephews are curious kids who like to explore, play, learn and experience new things, there will be plenty for them to do. A membership is a beautiful gift that keeps giving all year.… Read more

Hi there! I would like to purchase tickets for my son for his birthday this December-- however, all the dates in a December are not able to be clicked on for purchase. How can I purchase december tix as soon as possible? Thanks!

December tickets will be available soon. What date are you looking for?

When should we expect the Winter Festival decorations and activities? I want to bring my 2 year old back to visit. He had a great time the first time. Thanks 🙂

Hello Elmira! Winter Frolic starts this Friday and runs through January 8, 2023. Tickets are available now through the end of the month on our website. Hope to see you soon!

Do they currently require mask indoors for children? My 3 y/o has autism and refuses to wear one. I dont want to drive all the way there and get kicked out for this reason. Asking in June 2022

No, they don't they just recommend them. If you have any other questions, you can always phone them straight away they're very helpful.

Are the areas of the museum suitable for a two year old currently open?

Is this a place for a 7 month old and parents or better for toddlers and families?

As of 07/28/21, our indoor spaces like our Early Childhood Learning Center are closed (best for children 3 and under). Our museums are built for children 10 and under, but it might be best to wait until September 2021 when our indoor spaces reopen.… Read more

Is admission purchased online? At the entry? I've messaged with customer service through email and I haven't been able to get a straight answer. Are the tickets online ( see available tickets) here on Yelp different from general admission?

You can either purchase them via yelp or purchase them when you get there. I think they might be cheaper thru yelp.

Is there any area that's good for 1 year old?

THE BACK STORY: Carolwood Barn served as Walt Disney's workshop where he spent many hours building miniatures and 1/8th scale model trains. It's been said that the barn itself is where Walt's original "imagineering" ideation sparked the inspo to create Disneyland Park. Originally, the barn was located in Holmby Hills and named after the street where he lived, which was Carolwood Drive. Later in 1999 after his passing, his daughter bequeathed Walt's hand-laid tracks to the Los Angeles Live Steamers (LALS), who maintained a rail museum in LA's Griffith Park. Fun fact: Walt was one of the founding & charter members of this locomotive enthusiast group (LALS) that formed back in 1956. So I guess the train story comes full circle. There were a lot of different areas but it was hard for my daughter to actually do anything because the areas were packed and a lot of the items were missing from the areas due to kids moving them around. That's understandable -kids will be kids- but because there were so many kids the staff couldn't keep up with putting the items back in the designated areas. For example, we went to the "mail room" there was literally no mail in it. We went to the tool/building area and there were literally no tools and not enough building materials to build anything. This was pretty much every area we went to. The amount of kids also made it super overstimulating for my daughter. Normally when we go to these kinds of places it's calm and she is actually able to learn, play, interact etc. Lastly, it's expensive. Normally when we go to these kinds of places an adult is included when paying for a child to enter. Here, you have to pay for an adult and child ticket - so it was 44$ for the both of us. Totally not worth the price when it is so overrun.

To be perfectly honest, if you were to ask me how to describe/explain what The Huntington has to…read moreoffer, I wouldn't even know where to start - quite literally. When I've told friends and family about this place, I've almost always been at a loss for words because there is just so much to detail. And yet, if/when they ask me if it's worth checking out, the answer comes out quick, clean, and clear - absolutely! Sitting on what is/was the Huntington family's estate, this place is very impressive. Within their expansive, palatial grounds, there's a library, multiple art galleries and museums, several botanical gardens, a conservatory, a research center, an educational center, a Japanese heritage house (Shoya House), a tea room, a Chinese restaurant, a milk tea shop, numerous smaller gardens, and so much more. What's more, each of those museums, galleries, and gardens are distinctly different from each other - galleries and exhibits featuring American, British/European, and Asian artwork, a Japanese garden, a Chinese garden, a desert garden, a rose garden, a bonsai garden, a California garden...and the list goes on. Despite having spent the better part of a day walking around and exploring the grounds, I'm pretty sure we only managed to get through roughly half of what there is to see here. Of the ones we did make it through, my favorites were the Chinese and Japanese gardens, as they felt the most tranquil and offered the most shade of all of the gardens we saw. Not to mention the fact that we ended up spending a lot of time here before and after stopping in for lunch at the Jade Court Cafe in the Chinese garden. Among the galleries, I also enjoyed walking through the Huntington's Art Gallery, which seemed to hold most of the oldest American and European pieces, as well as historical info about the Huntingtons themselves. Given how much there is to see here, The Huntington is worth the price of admission, even if it does appear to be a little hefty ($34 for adults, with discounted rates available for seniors, students, military, and kids). They do offer free admission on the first Thursday of each month as well, but you'll need to claim tickets in advance starting the Thursday before. Also, if you're short on time, the visitor center has a list of highlights and suggested itineraries, but you'll inevitably miss out on a lot to see. Whenever you do come here, though, even if it's just to go to their tea room, make sure to bring sunscreen and wear some comfortable shoes, as you'll end up doing plenty of walking outdoors. They do have a tram that circles loops around the grounds, but you'll still have to walk from the stop to wherever you want to go. Just make sure to stop and smell the many flowers along the way!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience here at Rubel Castle. Our host, guide,…read moreand local "Rubelligent" volunteer, Ms. Kathleen had all the intel about this historical property. She was so knowledgeable and helped set the stage for us to slip into a forgotten era and get a glimpse of how imagination met inventiveness with a DIY charm. ~ A LITTLE BACKSTORY FOR YOU ~ It's not pronounced Rubel as Barney from Flintstones. Rather, it's like Target is to Targét when we are trying to be fancy. So that's Rubel as in "Roo-bell." Unlike modern-day construction, Rubel Castle wasn't built overnight. It was made of collected recyclables and construction rubble that spanned many decades and took several friends and volunteers to build it. For Michael, however, the lifetime inspiration was first sparked at the age of 9. His love for canons was where it started and the rest is history you can hear about on the tour. But don't just show up like we did randomly one day. To book, visit RubelTours.org and make a reservation. ~ OUR TOUR EXPERIENCE ~ It's as if Michael Rubel, the creator and mastermind of this enchanted dominion had intended it to be--magical. Built in the castle period of wood and tin, every corner captured our interests, from antique cars to the 1890's Seth Thomas Tower Clock with a unique backstory (and only six in existence today). There were old vending machines, tools, trinkets, and machinery that time had long forgotten. Did I mention there was a drawbridge? Yes, and a dungeon too. I was just waiting for a dragon to come swoop down on us next. Walk in the footsteps of famous visitors like Alfred Hitchcock, Dwight Eisenhower, Jack Benny, and Bob Hope. It's a feast for the eyes no matter where you glance. I particularly enjoyed the bottle house that Michael built in 1968 as his "home" as a kid. That independent spirit was quite charming to see. ~ WATERCOLOR NATURESCAPE ~ We were fortunate to have our gracious host lead us on a tour and organize a special art crafting experience outdoors. It was absolutely lovely beneath the trees and between rusted vintage cars from the turn of the century. We each got a small canvas to paint our flowers in watercolor. (This particular experience takes place in the Spring and Fall, weather permitting.) We heard the squirrels rattling in the leaves and birds chirped and sang in the trees above. We discovered that peacocks apparently originated from this property, compliments of Michael Rubel. And did I mention that on the far side of the property, a custom garden was in full bloom? BOOK A TOUR Help support the Glendora Historical Society and keep this magnificently unique city-castle maintained. It's worth it.

A castle in Glendora? Yes, your eyes aren't deceiving you--Rubel Castle is real, it's magnificent,…read moreand it's gloriously eccentric. Thanks to the sheer persistence (and probably delightful stubbornness) of Michael Rubel, we now have this quirky, towering State Treasure sitting right in the middle of Glendora like a fairy tale that accidentally took a detour through a hardware store. This place is beautifully done, and part of its charm is that it's a full-on hodgepodge of relics, antiques, crystal trinkets, and "wait... what is that doing here?" moments tucked into every nook and cranny. You'll marvel, you'll laugh, you'll squint in confusion--honestly, it's everything you'd want in a castle built with love, imagination, and a dash of madness. And let's talk about the makeshift cemetery. Quirky? YES. Fun? Absolutely. Slightly spooky? Only if your imagination is over-caffeinated. But it fits the vibe perfectly--like the castle whispered, "You know what I'm missing? A tiny cemetery." The tours are fantastic, the guides are passionate, and the whole experience feels like you're stepping into a living scrapbook of California history and charming chaos. Overall: Amazing, amazing place. Book your tour. They only do tours every first Sunday of the month, so set your alarms, mark your calendars, tie a string around your finger--just don't miss it. Rubel Castle is truly a California State Treasure, and an absolute must-see for anyone who appreciates creativity, history, and a little eccentric sparkle.

I came to visit and was greeted by Jackie, a young blue eyed and beautiful woman, at the reception desk. She was informative and affable. Let me tell you about this center, the history of the stone barn dates to 1898 when the property was acquired by George Le Mesnager, a French emigrant and prominent Los Angeles vintner, from Dr. Benjamin Briggs, the founder of La Crescenta. Between 1914 and 1918, George's son Louis constructed the original stone barn and shed along with several other buildings that no longer exist. They were used for storing equipment and grapes until 1920, when Prohibition ended the winemaking industry and forced the Le Mesnagers into the water industry. As the turn of the century, this center is a place to learn about the wild animals in the Cresenta valley and LA County. It's a great place for kids and family. Overall, it's a nice center to bring kids or kids at heart.
