Booking our experience was a breeze--everything was done online, and we paid around $60 per person plus tax. For my daughter and me, the total came to just under $144. They mentioned some fun accessories available on-site, which piqued our curiosity. Finding the venue was straightforward, although the parking situation was a bit tight. Fortunately, we arrived right on time and managed to snag a spot. The woman who greeted us was polite but seemed to lack the energy and enthusiasm I expected, especially given the price we were paying. I had envisioned a vibrant atmosphere based on their photos and social media presence. As we settled in, a couple arrived, and my daughter, who has sensory sensitivities, expressed her preference to sit at a separate table. Initially, the host was a bit hesitant to accommodate us, even though the space was empty. Eventually, we got started, but I noticed the assistant pretty much took over my daughter's craft instead of guiding her through the process. My daughter is quite capable, so it felt a bit off to have someone do it for her. However, I didn't want to make a fuss and let it slide. As I was finishing up, the host tried to help reset my supplies but didn't consider that I'm left-handed, making it trickier for me to wrap things up. After a bit of chatting with the host, I used some leftover string to add a mouth line between the whiskers to my plushy, only to be told that it went against the rules due to copyright issues. I found it ironic, given their message about unleashing creativity all over the walls! Our surprise didn't stop there. Adding even a small bow to our plushies came with a shocking additional $30 fee! My daughter had her heart set on a different accessory but was told mixing and matching wasn't allowed, which seemed odd when we were paying for the specific items. The host was nice enough, but the experience just didn't match the excessive price. I felt like there were some unwelcome assumptions made, which added to my disappointment. In the end, we spent $174 on an experience that left us feeling let down. While we both loved having a plushy as a memento from our road trip, the difference between what we'd seen online and what we experienced was stark. If the price had been about half of what we paid, we might have walked away feeling satisfied, but for that amount, I would rate it no more than three stars. read more

What's up: My sister-in-law set up a surprise activity day here to celebrate my birthday. She swears that adults do this too but we were surrounded by kids the entire time lol. Parking: We parked at the Park & Walk - Schoolhouse Garage, which was the closest to the plushie workshop. It is $1 for the first 2 hours. Be sure to pay at the machines before you return to your car so you can (kinda) leave the garage faster. Environment: Once we arrived at the location, we had to call the phone number listed to inform them that we arrived. Someone will open the door and show you downstairs to the workshop. We pick the animal that we want to make and a staff member will set you up at their knitting machine. Instructions are provided as you progress in creating your plushie. The yarn is very forgiving so if you make an oopsie, the staff member will be able to help you fix or correct it. Then we get to stuff the plushie as much as we want to get that perfect hug/squish factor. The plush gets sealed up and we get to thread our final touches. This was so fun!! As a bunch of 30-40 year olds we were surprised at how fun this was. Bring your girlfriends, daughters, sisters, and all your loved ones to struggle with fun together!! We easily booked our classes on their site. There was 4 of us and we each had to sign up for admission. You get to pick your animal, color, and accessories right when you book so be ready. We even added extra accessories in store and it was totally fine to pay additional when you're done, but highly recommend picking accessories ahead of time because they have a team that makes your accessory by hand days before. The place had a small door to enter through from the street. You have to call them to have them open the door. Then you walk down this staircase and see a small studio. It was super cute being all white and made the plushies stand out. There are different stations you do together and with the help of the staff. They set you up at each and give you clear directions on how to build your plushie. They are only feet away if you ever have issues or need help which happened a lot actually so glad they were on hand to help answer questions and save us when the war got stuck. Not an easy crafting activity by any means, it requires you to pay attention to where you are catching yarn and sticking needles but it was well worth the short breakdown moments. The total activity took about 2 hours and they don't allow any outside food or drink inside. You can bring a water bottle but thats it. The staff was fantastic. These girls were so patient and have so much experience. They did a lot of work keeping our plushies from dying before they even came alive. Please make sure you tip the girls when you leave because they do so much to make our plushie as cute as possible. So many customization elements throughout including where you put ears and noses. Super cute! My girlfriends and I had the best time and made awesome memories struggling to make our cute plushies. I especially had fun stuffing them and making them into the shape I want. I made a yellow bunny which was the 1st of its kind according to the staff so I felt like mine was extra unique. They have a ton of options combos for animals colors and accessories so have fun picking. Quality of the plushie itself was awesome. I have mine living on my couch and it's held up so well. Super soft and just adorable to look at. Definitely a place you can have a fun get together with your friends and family and everyone will enjoy it. read more

Such a cute concept and unique experience to book for your next date, birthday party or family outing. I saw this on Tik Tok and knew I had to book it. We have our two plushies on one of our couches at home and they look stylish as ever. They are located in Old Town Pasadena and you need to go to their door to call the number and follow the instructions. You need to get there right at their appointment time and not early. We ended up waiting which was perfectly fine. You then walk downstairs to the basement area where Plushumi is located and there is a table, some of the knitting machines, and a couple other rooms birthday parties were occuring. Everything at check-in is preset and Jasmine was super awesome explaining everything to us. Once we got on the machines though, it was quite frustrating because my machine was getting jammed at the same exact spot. Everyone else's was super smooth but then I ended up messing mine up which is fine but the machines was wuite annoying.Then Jasmine fixed mine up because there was a big hole. Finding this place was pretty easy! I saw lots of instagram reels about this place and decided to give it a try when I went down to LA. I was a bit disappointed and I am removing a star because they stopped me from continuing to make my plush even though I still had yarn left. I went with a friend and they allowed the friend to continue past the point I was stopped at, so our plushies came out different sizes. I will say, paying for this experience then getting a plush that is smaller than what is on their wall display is a bit disappointing as it feels like I did not get what I paid for. Also keep in mind, any accessories you see cost extra and you do not get to make them yourself. You also need to go early enough in the day because they may run out of pre-made accessories.
