I enrolled my 5 year old for art class earlier this year and she loves it! The teachers are kind and supportive. The owner is very sweet and accommodating. I've noticed improvements in the way my daughter draws after only about 1 months of being at Drawn2Art, but the biggest gift is seeing how much she enjoys going. On a side note, it's a bonus you don't stay so it's 60-90 minutes of free time to run errands and eat something before picking up your child. As a former art teacher myself, I can say that Drawn2Art in Pasadena is a great place for art classes! I was really impressed with the quality of the instruction that is provided at this location. My daughter who had just graduated high school has been taking the teen art class here for several years and has learned so much! I appreciate that they introduced her to a variety of mediums, watercolor, acrylic, oil painting, etc. and for each one they helped her in creating a composition or subject matter that she gets to choose and is excited about. They helped her in the whole process from creating a good composition with the initial drawing, to how to do an underpainting, laying in the values and forms, to the techniques she can use with the different materials to get the final look she wants that makes the piece look amazing! The atmosphere is positive, welcoming and fun, but yet a lot of learning takes place. The owner, Ms. Lauren is wonderful to work with and the teachers have all been wonderful! My daughter tried art classes at several other places before this one, but didn't feel comfortable at any of them, or didn't like the way they taught, but she loves it here! My daughter is going on to major in Art in college and I am so pleased with the skills she has learned here that have prepared her well. Plus the art work that she created here are all wonderful pieces that she will add to her portfolio. The instructors are great. They are kind, supportive and patient with the kids. The studio manager, Lauren is very accommodating and flexible with changing schedule and makeup class. She always respond to my email or phone call quickly. Since the pandemic, they implemented strict safety guidelines and only allow 5-6 students per class so I feel safe sending my daughter there. I have been taking my kids here for 13yrs. We began when my oldest (now 19) was 6. My other two (ages 16 and 13) still go. The process moves the kids through a series of books that progressively increase in skill needed. The kids complete a certain number in a book and in a medium (colored pencils, watercolors, acrylic and oils) before moving on to the next level. They also learn to work on various types and sizes of surfaces from paper to canvas board to stretched canvases. In the later years, the kids have picked pictures from vacations to paint or created their own images. The instructors are amazing and the environment accepting, encouraging and fun, but at the same time controlled. My kids feel so accepted and comfortable there. read more

My almost 6 year old son has been attending this school for a year now. He has shown so much growth, talent and discipline because of this school. The teachers are so friendly, and encouraging. When shelter in place started it was a rough transition, but they were always on top of their communication and made sure they would offer what is best for families. We have chosen to still do our work online even though they have opened up their studio and I just want to give a huge shout out to Ms. Sceinowai. Since the very beginning of crisis teaching she was always so patient with my son and understanding. She gave individual attention to 3-4 students at a 5-6 year old age range and does it well. She is very responsive to my emails when I had issues with my son learning online and she never ceases to amaze me on what a great job she does. Of course nothing compares to the real thing, and we can't wait till we meet again in person, (even though we have that choice to, we appreciate their respect our decision to keeping things online). Great art classes! They really teach drawing and art skills. My 7-year-old loves the class. At first, she came home with some funny looking drawings - you could tell she drew them on her own. They are serious in their approach to how the techniques are taught and also incredibly patient with their students. The teachers are fantastic with kids, create an environment where all children feel comfortable enough to push themselves to try techniques that may be new to them, and are talented working artists themselves. My son has been taking classes there for three years, one to two times a week. He started when he was nine years old after he outgrew the other options available to him. He has always liked art, but these classes have given him more than just time to nurture his creativity, they have taught him valuable skills. His confidence has grown exponentially, and his work has improved so much that he actually receives commissions now.
