I had a fun experience at my first rug tufting here! Located within the Atlantic blvd plaza so underground parking is easy. The spot looks a little small, but they have private back rooms to work on your rugs. One of the hardest parts for us was having a design ready! That maybe took an hour lol I would come with multiple designs in mind and to make sure the color blocking is larger, especially for your first time. After we chose our design, we got a lesson on how to use the tufting guns and especially the safety of how to hold them because the needle is quite sharp. We were then set up with our rugs, and got underway. You trace your design with markers first with a projection. When you start tufting, the key is to have a steady hand, try as best to evenly space your rug lines as you go and keep a good pace, and only doing one color at a time. After this they will show you how to save down your rug and then will add the backing for you because the glue/iron is very hot. This spot was conveniently located to grab drinks and snacks at nearby businesses. Overall a really fn experience and Iove seeing my new rug everyday! read more

I have not tried out their tufting services. Their hours posted on Yelp isn't really accurate either depending on their tufting appointments or if they need to stock the store when shipment comes in. Staff said it's best if you come after 1:30pm on weekdays to ensure their store being open. Weekends are pretty much just open. I come here to check out what Pop Mart items they have in stock. They also carry limited Labubu clothing. They have select figurines on display for trading at the front where you pay. This is great if you happened to open duplicates from Pop Mart. Staff said they don't refill display boxes to avoid customers getting duplicates unlike Pop Mart stores themselves. Their requirements for trading is that you may not trade a figurine/item if display already has the same item. They don't want duplicates in their trading case. You must bring the card that came in the box with it and trade has to be from the same series. Or if you see something on display you actually like but still want to try your luck like myself. Purchase a blind box and hope you get one you like, if not trade it with the display if there aren't any duplicates! You may also purchase display items (same price as blind box). My friend took me tufting for my birthday and it was such a fun experience! We booked our appointments online on their website where you could choose what size rug you want. We decided on the small rug which was $98. Once we got there we were greeted by the worker and waited a few minutes for them to set up our tufting stations. Remember to bring your design on your phone to show them! The worker was really nice, he guided us throughout the whole process. He demonstrated how to properly used the tufting gun and his tips to remember when using it. First, they project your design on the canvas for you to trace. After, you start the tufting process which took a long timee. My hands would cramp up and my back got tired from standing. They do have chairs for you to sit on but I found it was harder for me to put enough pressure on the canvas when I sat down lol. I think they have a good selection of primary colored yarns to choose from, but I think they could have more shades of colors. This part took the longest! I was worried that we wouldn't finish in our appointment time which was 3-6pm but they were very lenient and said we could take as long as we want or even come back another time to finish it. So we ended up staying till 3-9pm. Once you are satisfied with it the worker showed us how to cut and shave the rug for the final product! I will be honest in telling you that I haven't tried the entertainment services this place offers. What I do go here for is their Popmart items. IYKYK. Popmart collectibles are hot especially in Asia. Went to the Philippines in November and most of the Labubus were sold out. Well, this place has a wide selection of Popmart items that they offer. I had a great experience but while I was talking to another customer, they told me that there's a male employee who is very rude. Tonight it was a female employee and she was very nice. I got my very first labubu here. They make you buy 2 blind boxes when you buy a labubu so I picked the Disney blind boxes which are super cute as well. I got Donald duck and tinker bell. Theyre hella cute too!!! I saw all hello kitty outfit I am going to go back for, if I run into the male employee and he's rude, ill just leave. Service here is friendly, but the only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is that I had to buy an additional figure in order to get the vinyl plush I wanted which added an extra $16 dollars I could have used for something else. read more

The clothes for Labubu are limited and not so nice. Definitely worth checking out the store if you are into popmart. I checked and they are authentic . My husband took me tufting for my birthday and it was probably the funnest thing everrrr. Rodrigo helped us and he was VERY VERY helpful. From beginning to end he was attentive and walked us through every step. We spent alot longer than we anticipated and he helped us in the end with finishing touches. If you were to come, i recommend giving your self an extra hour or two than the recommended time. The location is in an unassuming trinket store but there was a big area to work on and its private and separate from others. They give you a speaker to play your own music while you work on tufting. If you are making the appt for more than 1 person, which is very likely, you just need to reserve one time slot and let them know how many people are coming. The place has many rooms and we got placed in the one in the back close to where all the yarns were. we were the only ones there for rug-making. our instructor was very attentive and thorough with instructions! Expect to spend at least 2-3 hrs, there was 3 parts to the whole process and could take more time the more people your group has. my bf and i needed at least 3 hrs but we did take our time with the yarn part. We spent about $200 on two small rugs - it does seem expensive but for something customized and memorable experience, I'd say it was worth it! read more

The store is located right next to Sunmerry and is part of the same plaza with Atlantic Dim Sum. Lots of parking available! The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were running late by 30 minutes and it wasn't an issue. Throughout our time, staff constantly checked over our progress to make sure we were doing okay. The shop has multiple rooms and my room fit around 8 people to rug tuft together. The steps to rug tuft are: 1. Draw your rug design (have a photo on your phone and they use a device to project it onto your screen for easy drawing!). 2. Staff will teach you how to use the tufting gun in the front. 3. You will go back to your room and start tufting. 4. Once done, you'll go to a separate room where you'll apply the backing and shave the rug. For the medium rug, it took us over 5 hours to complete, more than the typical 4 hour timeframe noted on the website. Probably a mix of it being busy (weekend time) and having to wait for equipment (only two rug shavers available) + inexperience. However, the staff wasn't forcing us to leave by a certain time or anything! It was very much a maker's space and it didn't feel intimidating or rushed. The atmosphere is very casual and lax. During the session, I got boba and pastries from Sunmerry because I started getting hungry. It didn't seem like an issue with staff. You pay at the end! All in all, I would recommend this place to friends wanting to do a cool activity or even as a date (probably not a first or second date though). The only cons I'd say would be the limited yarn colors (not many pastel colors! See photo) and limited rug shavers. read more

My friends and I had such a fun time tufting! I checked out some other places closer to me since I had such a good time, and 528 Entertainment is BY FAR the greatest deal. No one else was there for a long period of time while my friends and I were, but they do have a few rooms so you and your party can all be together in one space. You should definitely come with your own design, or at least an idea of what you want to do. The guys there were very helpful in letting us know whether an image would work or not. They did a quick, but thorough tutorial with the tufting guns, which we were all a bit nervous about, but they assured us you can't really mess it up. I was surprised by how long my tiny rug took, but with the combo of friends and a bluetooth speaker (provided by the business), the time really flew. After you're finished tufting, there are a couple more steps with the backing before you've got a finished product, but it's pretty fast after that. We were there a total of about 4 hours for mini (14x14) and small (18x18) size rugs. I will definitely do this again and would recommend for a fun daytime activity. read more

Hands down the most affordable place for tufting in the area! I've been twice because it's such a fun activity! Both times I got a medium sized rug for $118. It was pretty empty both times I've went and you get your own room. The reservation says 4 hours but we stayed for double that time. The workers are very nice and helpful. We booked a reservation online for 1PM which I think is the earliest time slot they had which ended up being a good thing since the tufting project we did (small rug for $98) took us 4-5hrs. We came in with a picture on our phone of what we wanted to do and the worker there helped us project it onto the canvas, outline, and the correct method to tuft the rug. The worker there was very helpful and would check up on us often to make sure we were on the right track. He even offered advices on how to improve our rugs or if we got stuck on something, he'd help us fix it. They were also very accommodating with letting us switch from our original reservation of making a mini sized rug to a small sized one. We also went over the allotted hours booked for the day but they never rushed us and told us to take our time. 5 stars just for service! Every time I go there's always something new and they even have a trading section if you don't pull the figure you are hoping for! The guy who works there is friendly and helpful. My friend told me about a rug tufting class near us in Monterey Park so I looked it up online and booked an appointment! It costs around $70 (before tip) for a small rug class that's slotted for 2 hours, however, my friend and I stayed for 4 hours and they weren't rushing us to get out or anything! We got there at 2pm (our app time) and it took the guy like 10 minutes before he was actually ready to get us into our room. You pick a design from the internet that's able to fit in a square frame and that gets projected onto your rug. I thought the process itself was pretty difficult, but I'm glad I tried something new and I'm impressed at myself for making a rug LOL. The staff members there are super knowledgeable, I was really impressed when they could explain to me why my rug wasn't looking correct. I think most of the staff members speak Chinese as their first language, so sometimes it's hard for them to explain more complicated processes/questions you may have. The space is very clean and everyone was really nice and helpful, like I mentioned, but I didn't like how the main guy who was helping us at the beginning was vaping while answering our questions lol.... I had a fantastic first time rug tufting with my friend. The staff assisting us went above and beyond--providing thorough guidance on the basics, helping set up the projector for drawing tracing, identifying gaps in our rug, and guiding us through the gluing process. The only drawback was the limited color yarn options. My original image was a green mushroom but they didn't have the correct colors so I had to improvise. Working on a sizable 36x36 rug was veryyyy time consuming. It took us 6-7 hours to complete. Be prepared to invest a day if you want to finish a large project! They didn't unlock the building door until about 2:05 (which was fine), and asked us to wait in one of the rooms where we waited for 30 minutes with no assistance or interaction from anyone. We checked to see if someone was coming to help, and they said they would ask. I ended up canceling my appointment because I was confused about the overall process. This is my first time with this store, but did find that there's more than one locations. So I checked out the reviews for the other location and supposedly this has happened to other people. To book an appointment, you have the option of doing a walk-in, phone call, website, or text message. With the exception of the walk-in, they do not respond to any of these.
