I don't understand what all the fuss is about? Since I was already in Burbank at the Farmers Market, I was very hungry and have passed by this place numerous times and never had the chance nor the opportunity to try this lovely place that is packed with lots of cuteness and great customer service by their employees. Met up with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a very long time, and we had a lot of catching up to do. We were their 1st customers as soon as they opened their doors. 11am sharp. We both decided to order their Chicken fried pot stickers, an order of Chicken Chow mien, and Chicken steamed dumplings. Yes, too much chicken. We both love Chicken a lot.. Hot , Soy , sauce were already on the table. Everything tasted fresh, and delicious. They do 3rd party orders, delivery, but no catering. That's ok, it doesn't bother me. Both bathrooms were nice and clean along with the dining area. Fine music was already playing. Parking situation is a challenge. We parked on the street. For those 3 items that we have ordered cost us less than $43.75 cents. Generous portions. We split the bill and that's all I can say for now. Will definitely return when I happen to be in Burbank! Thank you all and keep up the consistency. Consistency is the main element, factor not only in food, but in customer service! Be happy that you have something to eat. Others are starving everywhere!!!
I have to say, having an opportunity to eat here on a Friday night was just the kind of break I needed with how busy things were. On magnolia. We wound up ordering salt and pepper popcorn chicken and some pork and cabbage dumplings and it was super tasty. The guy helping us was also super nice and made sure we got enough to fill our bellies. For all the food we ordered and it still only being 40ish bucks I felt that I got my money's worth here too. Overall, with how great the food was here, Burbank has another gem I would love to visit more often. Cheers!
I was so excited to try chubby dumplings. I walked in and zeroed in on the combo option and was disappointed that they were not available yet. Undeterred, I ordered the Chicken & Mushrooms spicy Szechuan and the Wagyu Steak ramen. Everything tasted great. The chicken and mushrooms had a great spice. The noodles had a great chew and the broth was incredibly flavorful. However soon after I finished I was feeling off, my stomach began to hurt but I went on with my evening. Before long I felt horrible everything hurt and when I got home I won't go into graphic detail but I was sick from both sides. Today I have only managed to keep down saltines and gingerale.
Not a bad spot since it is right next to the movie theater. Lots of parking near here unless there is an event going on. Would come back to try the combo meal they are trying to introduce. Employee were friendly. The surprising dish would be the fried rice since wasnt expecting that kind of flavor from such a small spot and was fast too. The pan fried dumplings were good. Did not like the sesame wonton too much since the sauce was too thick so it was hard to mix around. Would definitely come back for the fried rice though.
I really wanted to like Chubby Dumplings, especially since it's so nicely located to the AMC theater I go to a lot. And while the interior is nice and attractive, the food was a disappointing let down. We ordered the Popcorn Chicken and the Black Pepper Wagyu Dumplings and they were both tough and chewy, as if they came out of the freezer and microwaved. Both were slightly cool instead of hot, so if they've een sitting around for a while too. At least the Popcorn Chicken did taste like regular popcorn chicken even though it was lacking the nice tenderness and texture I would expect from it, but the black pepper Wagyu dumpling simply does not taste anything like Wagyu or much of anything for that matter. The dumpling wrapping didn't seem like it was steamed on a pan, and lack that softness that can just melt in your mouth. The best part of our meal was us mixing the soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil together so we can have some decent flavor to add to the lackluster dumplings. There is potential to the menu, they just need to serve better food.
Solid choice for quick and tasty dumplings! This is a great option for a quick bite with plenty of options. We ate in and were pleased by the service and overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Note: they have lots of meat and non-meat options! We tried the Dan Dan noodles, spicy pork and shrimp Szechuan dumplings, black pepper wagyu beef dumpling, har gow,, and bbq pork bao. The pork and shrimp Szechuan dumplings were the star for sure! Great flavor. Only feedback is I wish they had more of the numbing qualities of Szechuan peppercorn. I could have done a bit spicier. The Dan Dan noodles were very flavorful and I've never had them with beef. I would have preferred with pork, but the beef was still tasty. I wish the har gow and black pepper wagyu dumpling had a bit more flavor, but once dipped in sauce it's great! Pro tip: if you get the Szechuan dumplings - dip the black pepper wagyu dumplings in the sauce!!
Ooh I was super excited to try out this spot during it's soft opening after having been to their Anaheim location. You order at the kiosks but you can also view the menu above. It's a quick eatery type of place perfect for a snack or lunch. We were handed our orders directly by the male staff and we enjoyed snacking outside in the patio. The Har Gow (shrimp) dumplings were good but I didn't like the crunch of the ginger inside. 4/5, the BBQ pork siao pao was fluffy and delicious I enjoyed the warm comforting taste of the dumpling! 5/5 Overall it was a great spot to stop by at for a bit and enjoy a nice break munching on dumplings!!
Came to try Chubby Dumpling during their soft opening. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is nice and welcoming. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. They have nice music playing in the background as well. It's super easy to order through their tablet (so I think this establishment is card-only). They, unfortunately, didn't have the combos available yet so I settled on getting everything separately. I ordered the steamed black pepper Wagyu dumplings, Wagyu noodles, Dan Dan noodles, popcorn chicken and steamed custard bun. My favorite was definitely the dan Dan noodles because of the flavor and creaminess. I liked the Wagyu dumplings but they weren't super hot but the flavor was good. Overall, I recommend this place. The service is good. The worker made sure to check on us, which was super nice! Located right across from the movie theater
I got the wagyu dumplings and wow they were so good. Very filling too, I almost couldn't even finish them all! At first I was a bit disappointed because they didn't have any more of the soup dumplings that I came for but still had a very good experience. They also had some fun drink options inside too. Loved the outdoor seating too, very cool outdoor mall vibes!
This place is good for what it is, I am glad to have seen an older Chinese lady making the dumplings by hand especially because this location is next to a Chinese place where robots make your fried rice. You can actually taste experience and care in these dumplings. The menu has a good enough variety of dumplings, I kinda wish they didn't feel like upcharging beef dumplings because of wagyu, I don't need wagyu at a grab and go dumpling location lol This place is still new so they didn't even have the combos available to order from the kiosk. There is plenty of seating and I like that you can fill your own soda. The sodas are a combination of the fancy ones and the regular kind. They also have bottled teas and stuff you can take from their fridge. I got the wonton in chili oil and they were good enough for me to feel full but not too full. They weren't spicy at all, just more on the sweeter side. My friend got the potstickers and the filling tasted really good. Parking is free and easy at the garage off of Orange. If you need a really fast bite before a movie at the AMC this is a good option.
Redeemed steamed custard bun via rewards and the item was meh. I can prob get better ones from frozen buns at the market. The Wagyu Stir Fried noodles had savory sweet noodles that were enjoyable the first few bites but got heavy as it went on. The Wagyu inside was tough to chew through. Might go with the Wagyu dandan noodles instead next time.
Ok-- let me preface by saying that I rarely give 1 star to establishments. The reason for my rating is that I can, in no way, justify the price for the quality of the product. WAGYU FRIED NOODLES 5/10: These wagyu fried noodles were not bad. The noodle has a decent amount of flavor, the steak has a bit of a smokey flavor and it does add to the noodle dish. However, I would think that calling the steak "Wagyu" is a bit misleading. I would by no means call this Wagyu and the dish, in its entirety, is a bit underwhelming. BEEF DUMPLINGS 3/10: I have been to multiple Japanese restaurants that have served dumplings. I do have to say that these dumplings fall short in both texture and taste. The filling lacked seasoning and was a chewy meat ball inside a wrapper. The wrapper itself was a bit thick and was not soft. It was not the worst but I was extremely disappointed in the quality especially considering that they are roughly 16 dollars. WONTON IN CHICKEN SOUP 0/10: This was inedible. As someone who is a huge fan of wontons in chicken soup, or wonton soup, this was perhaps the worst soup I have tried, unfortunately. When I initially ordered it, I had hopes of it being a nice, warm, hearty soup to have after me and my partner ate the rest of the food. The broth was straight up sodium and left an unpleasant aftertaste that grabbed my tongue. The broth tasted artificial. When I told my partner that I couldn't eat it because it would irritate my tongue, he told me that he'd eat it instead and not to worry--he couldn't even eat it. He said that the wontons had a funky taste to them. Really disappointed. MUSHROOM DUMPLINGS? 2/10: These were meant to be chicken dumplings but they got our order wrong. I admit, I do not like mushrooms, so that is where most of my rating came from. However, the flavor of the dumplings was slightly unpleasant and my partner who does eat mushrooms agreed as well. SERVICE --/10: We got this through Postmates so this rating is strictly based on the food itself. I'd also like to note that they did not provide us with any dipping sauces for the dumplings. For 70 dollars, we were extremely disappointed.
I ordered the dan dan noodles and the meat was seasoned like carne asada, the noodles were gummy and the sauce was bland. Not anything remotely similar to authentic dan dan noodles. Admittedly the manager said they are working on changing the menu, and many of the food options were out of stock... should've known. I was in kind of a rush and I wasn't able to get a refund but it was literally inedible. Will see if it makes me sick!
Sadly 1.5/5.0. Cannot recommend this place as it is Essentially an AI-branded microwave service for frozen grocery store dumplings. Taste: It's edible. But the pork and cabbage dumplings were a step down from your average grocery-store branded frozen dumplings. These are definitely not made fresh anywhere. And if they are, then it's perhaps a little embarrassing. Experience: lots of things that were a little off. the bench I sat on was uneven and would lift my girlfriend up and down like a seesaw when I sat on it. We thought it looked cute from the outside (heading into the movies). But I definitely felt that the branding and the menu pictures looked AI generated. They didn't look like what came out, which is normal, but they also didn't really look like real food. They only have touch screen menus to order from, which adds to the soullessness. And the best deal on their menu was "coming soon" which was weird. Essentially they will at some point offer combos where you can get 3 things on their menu for cheaper than if you order them à la carte... but they don't have them on the menu yet. It didn't seem like anything new was being offered, so I do not under why even bother making it "coming soon" Mood Before/After: I was in a good mood both before and after because I was having fun with my girlfriend and about to see a movie. I don't think my mood had any bias in this review. Fullness: you could get full enough on this. Portion sizes are not generous but they're not super skimpy. I definitely do not think I got the value for the dollar spent, but it is food that could make your stomach fuller... What else did I eat/do today affecting my experience: I had an impossible burger earlier, and normal breakfast. Mostly lazy day doing laundry, I didn't plan to come here, just happened to see it and think it might be an easy dinner before the movie. I don't think this affected my experience. read more

Hi Patricia,…
Visited during the soft opening. Fantastic location near the AMC16 and a lot of other downtown Burbank stores. We tried crispy wontons, pork dumplings and Scallion noodles. This was the perfect combo for sharing and also trying to sample a little of everything. There was even a little leftover that was taken home and was just as good the next day. They were out of the Wagyu - which we were excited to try but totally understandable with it being a soft opening. The staff were so great though in letting us know when it the next shipment would be available. They were also helpful with helping us select our options of dishes to try out! Limited seating indoors but with it being in a great location lots of space outdoors if needed. read more

I was so looking forward to their opening, and when I stopped by, the place was nice and clean, the food looks good, but I found out that they don't accept cash payments. I hate paying credit/debit for my lunch/dinner. I hope they change it once they are done with their soft opening. read more

Got the dan dan noodles and chili oil dumplings. They advertise having combos but they're not available yet - i assume because it says they're still soft opening? There are posters on the wall advertising some other dumplings that are not available yet so i just got their pork ones. The dumplings themselves were kind of bland and if it weren't for the chili oil I would have been disappointed. The dan dan noodles were fine. The sauce was nutty and a bit oily but missing spice so i dumped the chili oil in and it tasted better. I think if you are in the area and NEED dumplings fast and cheap, this place would be fine. Otherwise, I'd spend the extra time and money to eat better dumplings and dan dan noodles elsewhere read more

Came during their soft opening for a late lunch. None of the combos were available. Many items on their menu were not available. Their overhead menu does not match the price on their kiosk, and their employees do not disclose it to you when theyre standing at the cashier while you place your order. You would assume that their menus would accurately reflect each other. They tell you only after youve paid and confront them about your order. Ex: Overhead menu: dumplings 8 pcs for $9.98 VS kiosk 6 pcs for $9.98?! Their overhead menu states "wagyu beef rice bowl" but kiosk labels it as "braised beef rice bowl". Please iron out the misinformation or disclose it ahead of time. Im pretty disappointed by the service. Pork soup Dumplings: 3/5. Soupy and tastes decent, but pricing is mislabeled and not disclosed beforehand. For 6 pcs, price is not worth it. Braised beef rice bowl: 2/5. Flavor is bland. Texture is very different than other "wagyu beef rice bowl" that we have had at other places. Pork bun (char siu bao): 3/5. Filling is sweet and savory. Ambiance: it's a casual sit-down. You walk up and order on the kiosk, have a seat, and they bring your food out to you when ready. read more

Checked out the soft opening and was pleasantly surprised! They have a few things to work out since they opened. Was very intrigued with their combo options but it's not currently available when you pay via the self checkout machine. The dumplings were very flavorful and the noodles were a decent serving size! Def will add into my rotation when I'm in the area and am glad to see more Asian foods in Burbank read more

My boyfriend was at an event next door and there was a soft opening sign up, so I thought I would try it out. The crisp cucumbers had a very umami flavor and sesame, but they were crisp and tasty. The pork wontons really hit the spot for me. They had a little kick, but not too spicy. The gentleman who welcomed me and answered my menu questions was very friendly. He actually gave me a complimentary soda and a custard bao to try. it was a sweet gesture and a sweet treat to end the meal. I will definitely be back to try the ramen and dumplings, and will certainly get more wontons!! read more

This might be one of the best dumpling spots I've ever been to. Everything is made fresh--no exaggeration. We literally watched them hand-stuff the dumplings right before cooking them, which was such a cool touch. The dumplings were incredibly light but still super satisfying. Flavorful, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Honestly, they reminded me of the dumplings at Joe's Shanghai in New York City--just as good, if not better. Highly recommend if you're a dumpling lover! read more

Small happy little yummy dumpling, wonton, and ramen stop with fountain drinks. Wanted to try some stuff that was out of stock but that just means it was well liked so I cant wait to come back and try them. The dumplings were soft and delicious. Not piping hot so I didn't have to wait to enjoy my food ;3 Also, cute soy sauce holders on the table is a mega plus for me ^^ read more

This place you are greeted as you walk in. You order from a menu screen and some of the food is pre-cooked and sitting in a steamer ready to serve. I decided to dine in and ended up eating three servings of their pork & shrimp Siu Mai. The dumplings were good and had a strong mushroom flavor to them as well as the expected pork and shrimp. The dipping sauces were good too. For dining in, I was shocked at how much one time use plastic waste was generated just from my small meal....! I'd come back to try their har gow which were not offered this time as the place was kinda doing a soft opening. The inside dining area was well lit offering a variety of different sized wood tables and chairs. Of the tables that were empty none had their tops wiped off and remnants of previous snacks and sauce visible so I chose just to eat on the tray. You're expected to bus your own dishes and tray which is probably why their personnel aren't out there on a regular basis to clean the table-tops. Most restaurants that have a similar set up also have dirty tabletops for the same reason. read more

Was able to stumble upon this spot during their soft opening. Parking was easily accessible through the parking structure and it is completely free. The pricing range is ~$10 per item. Absolutely delicious. The pan fried one was my favorite. I would probably skip on the Dan Dan noodles. It was lacking in the sesame flavor. Overall, I would come back to try all their other dumplings during their grand opening when the options are available. read more

My Papa and I went there this morning and was given a 5 star treatment by all their staff. The head chef sith braces recommended good choices, joyfully adjusted to my diet preferences and even gave me an extra broth soup . Another staff also graciously assisted my dad with something . The food is delicious and the place is such a cool place! The customer service is top tier from the chefs to the servers ! I would definitely come back! God bless you all read more

The waggle potstickers are really good. Definitely a new experience. The soup dumplings were OK. Would definitely like them more if they came out a little bit hotter popcorn chicken just need a little bit more salt but still very good. Definitely something I will try to sneak into the movie theater right next-door The other dumplings I forgot what they're called but they're pretty good. I just need a little bit more spice to them overall I'd rate this place in 8.5 out of 10 definitely a must come. read more

I know it's a soft opening, so I'm going to grade with that in mind. I orders the Wagyu Beef Ramen and a Pork Bao. The Bao is delicious and the flavor of the ramen is good. However, I do not believe I was given any meat. I'm sure this would be even better if the meat was present. I'll try it again, maybe this time I'll eat there. read more

Very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. The popcorn chicken was so dry that it felt like jerky. Not edible. The hargow was tasteless with very thick wrap and poor quality shrimp filling. The crispy shrimp dumpling was the only thing that tasted decent but nothing to rave about. Some of the items we wanted to order like the soup dumpling was "sold out" amongst other items. Sad to say we will not be returning. read more

Honestly a hard 5/10, and that's for the Pork & Shrimp Mau everything else is not good. The cucumber is too salty and has wayyy too many sesame seeds and the waygu noodles are not appealing. Went by for a soft opening last night with my teens. Food we tried was amazing. Best fried wontons ever. Soup dumplings are a must. And the shrimp and pork sui mai perfect. One in my party doesn't eat meat so they made the dan dan meatless and it was absolutely great. The manager was a really cool person and the whole staff was friendly, efficient, and clean.
