I don't understand what all the fuss is about? Since I was already in Burbank at the Farmers Market, I was very hungry and have passed by this place numerous times and never had the chance nor the opportunity to try this lovely place that is packed with lots of cuteness and great customer service by their employees. Met up with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a very long time, and we had a lot of catching up to do. We were their 1st customers as soon as they opened their doors. 11am sharp. We both decided to order their Chicken fried pot stickers, an order of Chicken Chow mien, and Chicken steamed dumplings. Yes, too much chicken. We both love Chicken a lot.. Hot , Soy , sauce were already on the table. Everything tasted fresh, and delicious. They do 3rd party orders, delivery, but no catering. That's ok, it doesn't bother me. Both bathrooms were nice and clean along with the dining area. Fine music was already playing. Parking situation is a challenge. We parked on the street. For those 3 items that we have ordered cost us less than $43.75 cents. Generous portions. We split the bill and that's all I can say for now. Will definitely return when I happen to be in Burbank! Thank you all and keep up the consistency. Consistency is the main element, factor not only in food, but in customer service! Be happy that you have something to eat. Others are starving everywhere!!!

I have to say, having an opportunity to eat here on a Friday night was just the kind of break I needed with how busy things were. On magnolia. We wound up ordering salt and pepper popcorn chicken and some pork and cabbage dumplings and it was super tasty. The guy helping us was also super nice and made sure we got enough to fill our bellies. For all the food we ordered and it still only being 40ish bucks I felt that I got my money's worth here too. Overall, with how great the food was here, Burbank has another gem I would love to visit more often. Cheers!

I was so excited to try chubby dumplings. I walked in and zeroed in on the combo option and was disappointed that they were not available yet. Undeterred, I ordered the Chicken & Mushrooms spicy Szechuan and the Wagyu Steak ramen. Everything tasted great. The chicken and mushrooms had a great spice. The noodles had a great chew and the broth was incredibly flavorful. However soon after I finished I was feeling off, my stomach began to hurt but I went on with my evening. Before long I felt horrible everything hurt and when I got home I won't go into graphic detail but I was sick from both sides. Today I have only managed to keep down saltines and gingerale.

Not a bad spot since it is right next to the movie theater. Lots of parking near here unless there is an event going on. Would come back to try the combo meal they are trying to introduce. Employee were friendly. The surprising dish would be the fried rice since wasnt expecting that kind of flavor from such a small spot and was fast too. The pan fried dumplings were good. Did not like the sesame wonton too much since the sauce was too thick so it was hard to mix around. Would definitely come back for the fried rice though.

I really wanted to like Chubby Dumplings, especially since it's so nicely located to the AMC theater I go to a lot. And while the interior is nice and attractive, the food was a disappointing let down. We ordered the Popcorn Chicken and the Black Pepper Wagyu Dumplings and they were both tough and chewy, as if they came out of the freezer and microwaved. Both were slightly cool instead of hot, so if they've een sitting around for a while too. At least the Popcorn Chicken did taste like regular popcorn chicken even though it was lacking the nice tenderness and texture I would expect from it, but the black pepper Wagyu dumpling simply does not taste anything like Wagyu or much of anything for that matter. The dumpling wrapping didn't seem like it was steamed on a pan, and lack that softness that can just melt in your mouth. The best part of our meal was us mixing the soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil together so we can have some decent flavor to add to the lackluster dumplings. There is potential to the menu, they just need to serve better food.

Solid choice for quick and tasty dumplings! This is a great option for a quick bite with plenty of options. We ate in and were pleased by the service and overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Note: they have lots of meat and non-meat options! We tried the Dan Dan noodles, spicy pork and shrimp Szechuan dumplings, black pepper wagyu beef dumpling, har gow,, and bbq pork bao. The pork and shrimp Szechuan dumplings were the star for sure! Great flavor. Only feedback is I wish they had more of the numbing qualities of Szechuan peppercorn. I could have done a bit spicier. The Dan Dan noodles were very flavorful and I've never had them with beef. I would have preferred with pork, but the beef was still tasty. I wish the har gow and black pepper wagyu dumpling had a bit more flavor, but once dipped in sauce it's great! Pro tip: if you get the Szechuan dumplings - dip the black pepper wagyu dumplings in the sauce!!

Ooh I was super excited to try out this spot during it's soft opening after having been to their Anaheim location. You order at the kiosks but you can also view the menu above. It's a quick eatery type of place perfect for a snack or lunch. We were handed our orders directly by the male staff and we enjoyed snacking outside in the patio. The Har Gow (shrimp) dumplings were good but I didn't like the crunch of the ginger inside. 4/5, the BBQ pork siao pao was fluffy and delicious I enjoyed the warm comforting taste of the dumpling! 5/5 Overall it was a great spot to stop by at for a bit and enjoy a nice break munching on dumplings!!

Steamed Custard Bao(1pc), Salt & Pepper Popcorn Chicken, and Wagyu Steak Fried Noodle

Came to try Chubby Dumpling during their soft opening. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is nice and welcoming. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. They have nice music playing in the background as well. It's super easy to order through their tablet (so I think this establishment is card-only). They, unfortunately, didn't have the combos available yet so I settled on getting everything separately. I ordered the steamed black pepper Wagyu dumplings, Wagyu noodles, Dan Dan noodles, popcorn chicken and steamed custard bun. My favorite was definitely the dan Dan noodles because of the flavor and creaminess. I liked the Wagyu dumplings but they weren't super hot but the flavor was good. Overall, I recommend this place. The service is good. The worker made sure to check on us, which was super nice! Located right across from the movie theater

Cindy L.

I got the wagyu dumplings and wow they were so good. Very filling too, I almost couldn't even finish them all! At first I was a bit disappointed because they didn't have any more of the soup dumplings that I came for but still had a very good experience. They also had some fun drink options inside too. Loved the outdoor seating too, very cool outdoor mall vibes!

Nik J.

This place is good for what it is, I am glad to have seen an older Chinese lady making the dumplings by hand especially because this location is next to a Chinese place where robots make your fried rice. You can actually taste experience and care in these dumplings. The menu has a good enough variety of dumplings, I kinda wish they didn't feel like upcharging beef dumplings because of wagyu, I don't need wagyu at a grab and go dumpling location lol This place is still new so they didn't even have the combos available to order from the kiosk. There is plenty of seating and I like that you can fill your own soda. The sodas are a combination of the fancy ones and the regular kind. They also have bottled teas and stuff you can take from their fridge. I got the wonton in chili oil and they were good enough for me to feel full but not too full. They weren't spicy at all, just more on the sweeter side. My friend got the potstickers and the filling tasted really good. Parking is free and easy at the garage off of Orange. If you need a really fast bite before a movie at the AMC this is a good option.

Lucy M.

Redeemed steamed custard bun via rewards and the item was meh. I can prob get better ones from frozen buns at the market. The Wagyu Stir Fried noodles had savory sweet noodles that were enjoyable the first few bites but got heavy as it went on. The Wagyu inside was tough to chew through. Might go with the Wagyu dandan noodles instead next time.

Wontons In Chicken Soup(8pc), Chicken Dumplings(8pcs), Wagyu Beef DanDan Noodle, Wagyu Steak Fried Noodle

Sofis K.

Ok-- let me preface by saying that I rarely give 1 star to establishments. The reason for my rating is that I can, in no way, justify the price for the quality of the product. WAGYU FRIED NOODLES 5/10: These wagyu fried noodles were not bad. The noodle has a decent amount of flavor, the steak has a bit of a smokey flavor and it does add to the noodle dish. However, I would think that calling the steak "Wagyu" is a bit misleading. I would by no means call this Wagyu and the dish, in its entirety, is a bit underwhelming. BEEF DUMPLINGS 3/10: I have been to multiple Japanese restaurants that have served dumplings. I do have to say that these dumplings fall short in both texture and taste. The filling lacked seasoning and was a chewy meat ball inside a wrapper. The wrapper itself was a bit thick and was not soft. It was not the worst but I was extremely disappointed in the quality especially considering that they are roughly 16 dollars. WONTON IN CHICKEN SOUP 0/10: This was inedible. As someone who is a huge fan of wontons in chicken soup, or wonton soup, this was perhaps the worst soup I have tried, unfortunately. When I initially ordered it, I had hopes of it being a nice, warm, hearty soup to have after me and my partner ate the rest of the food. The broth was straight up sodium and left an unpleasant aftertaste that grabbed my tongue. The broth tasted artificial. When I told my partner that I couldn't eat it because it would irritate my tongue, he told me that he'd eat it instead and not to worry--he couldn't even eat it. He said that the wontons had a funky taste to them. Really disappointed. MUSHROOM DUMPLINGS? 2/10: These were meant to be chicken dumplings but they got our order wrong. I admit, I do not like mushrooms, so that is where most of my rating came from. However, the flavor of the dumplings was slightly unpleasant and my partner who does eat mushrooms agreed as well. SERVICE --/10: We got this through Postmates so this rating is strictly based on the food itself. I'd also like to note that they did not provide us with any dipping sauces for the dumplings. For 70 dollars, we were extremely disappointed.

Christina F.

I ordered the dan dan noodles and the meat was seasoned like carne asada, the noodles were gummy and the sauce was bland. Not anything remotely similar to authentic dan dan noodles. Admittedly the manager said they are working on changing the menu, and many of the food options were out of stock... should've known. I was in kind of a rush and I wasn't able to get a refund but it was literally inedible. Will see if it makes me sick!

Was considering making this my new dumpling spot and i'm so sad it wasn't as great as it seemed I will say the service was good and they were very nice, offering to answer any questions or help while ordering. They didn't have chicken for the fried rice so they offered chicken katsu replacement instead, which i didn't mind since i like that. They did, however, lie and said they didn't have chicken because "it was their first day open", regardless of the reason why lie I will say that the food was okay, it wasn't the best but also not the worst, just mediocre. I would say the quality fell short for the price point. I ordered the spicy chicken dumplings and chicken fried rice. The dumplings were not spicy at all, not even a hint. The filling lacked flavor as well making the overall dish pretty tasteless...The chicken katsu was good with the right flavor and crisp; the rice was okay, although I wouldn't really call it "fried rice". It was a bit too fluffy compared to the traditional fried rice i've had at other asian spots. Overall the quality was very mediocre for the price point and it's honestly not a place I would crave. It's a very cute place and aesthetic but unfortunately I wouldn't bother trying it out. read more

Amazing lovely dumplings. The wrappers of a solid al dente chew. I need to try more stuff from here! Also an anti social person like me loves the option of an iPad to order from sometimes :) 4 stars not 5 because i haven't tried anything from here that completely knocked my socks off :( But maybe in the future! We ordered steamed black pepper wagyu beef dumplings, beef noodle soup, and dan dan noodles. Dumplings has chili oil and soy sauce on the side. I'm not sure if they have lemon sauce, I didn't ask. I like my dipping sauce spicy and tangy combination. First time trying dan dan noodles and I actually like it a lot. My son ordered the beef noodle, he said it is okay, he prefers the one from Noodle St becauses it has spicy option. I will definitely come back again to eat dan dan noodles and try other dumplings. We have no problem ordering via kiosk. read more

Went to try this place with my mom and it was so yummy. The waiter was kind and helpful and the price was great considering we've spent way too much money on dumplings in the past. We ordered the spicy wontons, pork soup dumplings, popcorn chicken, and shrimp dumplings. All of it was very flavorful and piping hot. I didn't even feel the need to use the sauces they provided. Went to try chubby dumplings for lunch today. I was told before ordering that they might not have what we want since it's soft opening such as combo. So I ordered dan dan noodles and shezhuan dumpling. For Dan dan, I was a bit skeptical as the noodles don't look the same as in picture. The menu picture shows small yellow noodles which is typical dan dan noodles but the actual noodles is big noodles. Despite the type of noodles, it's delicious. The shezhuan dumpling is super tasty. The sauce is phenomenal. I'd come back to order this again. The server is super friendly. Will come back to try their other menu. read more

Made a trip out to get Chubby Dumpling. I'm a frequent patron to cattle and the various hotpot locations. Given my experience with the Chubby Group, I expected more. Unfortunately the dumpling fell short. The skin of the dumplings are thick and dry. The dan dan noodles was too creamy. The beef noodles soup wasn't bad. Unfortunately they ran out of the soup dumplings and the pork chop rice but I assume it wouldn't be as good. The price is similar to din tai Fung so I would rather go there. read more

Not a bad place! It is FAST food, the ingredients feel cheap and it's not cooked to seasoned well. I don't think it was worth the price for what it was, honestly. Popcorn chicken was the best thing we tried. Rice was bland. We got dumplings and they tasted like frozen Trader Joe's dumplings (they weren't but they were similar). Just tried this few hours ago.. WOW! food was so yummy!! I got the wonton ramen and black pepper wagyu wonton- so so good! The noodles of the ramen were perfects and the flavor of the wonton was so good. Sometimes i get tired if wonton right away- but i kept wanting more if that wagyu wonton!! Service was great too- there's a guy with glasses (forgot to get his name) and Vanessa up front who were really helpful. Vanessa walked me through ordering on the kiosk and was super nice when i had questions/ needed something. Ambiance is great too. I first tried to call ahead, and no one picked up the phone. I was super excited to go because the reviews looked promising. Little did I know... their menu and kiosk didn't match in terms of pricing and quantity AND they advertised combos that they weren't serving yet. I'm officially obsessed. The dumplings are perfectly steamed, the skins are soft but don't fall apart, and the fillings are super tasty. Paired with their chili oil? Next level. The food alone is worth a trip across town. Chubby Dumpling has been a game-changer, and Vanessa is amazing! She always communicates clearly, selects the freshest produce, and delivers with a smile. It feels good supporting someone local who really takes pride in their work. The ambiance here is just right. It's not too loud, not too quiet--just a calm, welcoming space to enjoy your dumplings. The prices are pretty high for the amount you get, but even worse is the menu is a complete lie. They say it's because they're in soft opening... But they are open. Combos are not yet available. And all ordering has to be done through a kiosk in front of a person... you can't just order through the person. Why? It makes no sense. Then when you go to use the kiosk, which again does not list everything the posted menu lists, 90% of the stuff there was also not available/out of stock. If you're going to be open, either stock what you list or don't list it. Just a silly system all around. read more

My girlfriend and I come to this location a few times a week. The cook, who might be the manager, with glasses older guy, was tucked into the wall in the kitchen. I believe he was on his phone, but I don't think he ever changed his gloves at all while making food or bringing it to our table. They also have a small utility cart sometimes blocking the ordering screens or the soda machine. read more

Nice, clean "chain" restaurant. Had a pretty good dinner prior, but was still hungry and was craving spicy dumplings. Lots of choices. I settled for the wontons in chili oil. They were very flavorful with plenty of chili oil. Some heat but not excessive with lots of good flavor. Too bad there are not Chubby Dumplings in Arizona. Would try again along with other choices if in the area again. read more

Making a reservation was very easy, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted right away and seated promptly. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The restaurant is a bit dimly lit, but it really adds to the cozy and upscale atmosphere. One thing I immediately noticed was how clean all of the grills were. We chose the AYCE option (around $55 per person), and the pricing for kids was very reasonable. Our 5-year-old was charged a reduced rate, while our 3-year-old ate free, which was a nice bonus for families. The selection of meats was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from. They do have a 90-minute dining limit and a surcharge for excessive leftovers, but that wasn't an issue for us because everything was delicious. The appetizer selection was surprisingly large. We enjoyed the beef fried rice, noodles, a sushi roll, crispy tofu, chicken karaage, and shiitake mushrooms. The crispy tofu turned out to be spicier than we expected, so just keep that in mind if ordering for kids. However, spice lovers will probably enjoy it! The chicken karaage was a huge hit with the kids, especially with the spicy mayo on the side. The shiitake mushrooms were also incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. We also ordered crispy rice spicy tuna, we loved it too! What really stood out was the service. Every server we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Instead of simply dropping off food and walking away, they took time to check in, ask how we were doing, and connect with us. That personal touch made the experience feel special. We only ordered water since we had already had plenty of drinks earlier in the day, but they offer a variety of beverages as well. For dessert, we tried the mochi ice cream special--two for $5--which was a fantastic deal. In San Diego, it's common to pay around $5 for just one mochi ice cream, so we were pleasantly surprised. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are so happy we chose Oku-Niku for my birthday celebration. Great food, excellent service, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

I have had this place bookmarked for years because I am a bigger fan of Japanese BBQ than Korean…read moreBBQ. I know, scandalous, right? The place was also always rather expensive. However, it seems prices are not so high anymore, so we went. Sadly, the food disappointed for the most part. One problem is the parking situation. It is nearly impossible to find a spot anywhere near the restaurant, and the fact there are numerous other dining spots on the block only makes things even harder. When we got there we had a friendly attentive server. However, he switched shifts with another server moments after we ordered. That led to many problems. The waitress who took over was almost never in the dining room. Dishes we ordered were sent to a different table. A Shirley Temple drink was ordered and it took nearly 30 minutes to be made. This is ginger ale and grenadine. Except, it wasn't even ginger ale, because they don't have ginger ale. It was Sprite! Oy! As far as the food, one big problem were the awful dipping sauces. I don't think I've had a problem with the dipping sauce at many if any other Asian bbqs in the past. However, the missus hated the soy or ponzu based sauce and wouldn't eat it. I used it, but it was not good. The meats were totally decent quality. The problem is their marinade isn't a soy based yakinaku type sauce like most Japanese BBQs. It was Japanese barbecue sauce and it tasted like barbecue sauce. Not a great flavor. The prime beef fried rice, gyoza, garlic noodles were the better dishes, though none particularly impressed. The cucumbers were soaked in ponzu sauce rather than pickled like sunomono or in a spicy sauce like cucumber kimchi. It was unmemorable. The chicken karaage was edible but unexciting. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was good, but they went soggy very quickly, which made any except the first one or two eaten not very enjoyable. The crispy garlic jalapeno chicken wings were god awful and inedible as far as I'm concerned. I'm sad the place wasn't better. I wanted a place to go that hopefully was somewhat cheaper than Manpuku - the best Japanese BBQ in LA. However, I wouldn't return for any of this food, and I can't recommend it to anyone. Avoid or try at your own risk.

i give it a 4 star because it's a new asian place in burbank. i ordered the pork xlb and taiwanese beef noodle soup. pork xlb: normal size, but contained very little actual soup + wasn't that hot. the flavor was a bit bland but serviceable. overall, $9 for 6 pieces is a bit ridiculous, especially considering that their quality didn't make up for it. taiwanese beef noodle soup: actually solid, I put in some chili oil i got as a side, and the broth was hearty and flavorful. the noodles were chewy, good consistency, and as someone who's always had to drive out to arcadia/alhambra to satisfy their craving for this dish, i am happy that a decent provider is in the city. overall, it's alright, but i do hope that dine in customers could get served in actual plates / bowls rather than the take out paper things. what's the output of 4 + 4 read more

Chubby Dumplings is a true gem! I tried the Pepper Wagyu Beef Dumplings and the Braised Beef Dan Dan Noodles, and both dishes blew me away. The dumplings were packed with flavor--the beef was roughly minced instead of finely ground, which made it easy to enjoy the tenderness of the meat. A really satisfying bite every time. The Braised Beef Dan Dan Noodles were equally impressive. The noodles were thick, and the creamy, nutty sauce clung to every strand. The braised beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, but the real star here was the signature Chubby sauce--spicy, creamy, sweet, and savory all at once, adding so much depth and balance to the dishes. If you love bold flavors and quality ingredients, this spot is a must-visit! read more

Was craving poke after a movie and stumbled onto Poke Loulu and I'm so glad I did!…read more Food: Incredible! The staff here did not skimp on the portions. Every time I asked for a scoop of something, they gave a generous scoop. And once I took my first bite of the fish, it tasted so fresh, and I love the combination of the sauces! Service: awesome! Since it was my first time here, I didn't know what sauces to choose from and the kind worker gave me his favorite recommendations (I forgot the sauces) but it appeared so well with my bowl! Ambiance: very spacious and clean inside. So glad that there was tables open when I visited. Overall, definitely coming back here again when I'm craving poke in the area!
