I don't understand what all the fuss is about? Since I was already in Burbank at the Farmers Market, I was very hungry and have passed by this place numerous times and never had the chance nor the opportunity to try this lovely place that is packed with lots of cuteness and great customer service by their employees. Met up with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a very long time, and we had a lot of catching up to do. We were their 1st customers as soon as they opened their doors. 11am sharp. We both decided to order their Chicken fried pot stickers, an order of Chicken Chow mien, and Chicken steamed dumplings. Yes, too much chicken. We both love Chicken a lot.. Hot , Soy , sauce were already on the table. Everything tasted fresh, and delicious. They do 3rd party orders, delivery, but no catering. That's ok, it doesn't bother me. Both bathrooms were nice and clean along with the dining area. Fine music was already playing. Parking situation is a challenge. We parked on the street. For those 3 items that we have ordered cost us less than $43.75 cents. Generous portions. We split the bill and that's all I can say for now. Will definitely return when I happen to be in Burbank! Thank you all and keep up the consistency. Consistency is the main element, factor not only in food, but in customer service! Be happy that you have something to eat. Others are starving everywhere!!!
I have to say, having an opportunity to eat here on a Friday night was just the kind of break I needed with how busy things were. On magnolia. We wound up ordering salt and pepper popcorn chicken and some pork and cabbage dumplings and it was super tasty. The guy helping us was also super nice and made sure we got enough to fill our bellies. For all the food we ordered and it still only being 40ish bucks I felt that I got my money's worth here too. Overall, with how great the food was here, Burbank has another gem I would love to visit more often. Cheers!
I was so excited to try chubby dumplings. I walked in and zeroed in on the combo option and was disappointed that they were not available yet. Undeterred, I ordered the Chicken & Mushrooms spicy Szechuan and the Wagyu Steak ramen. Everything tasted great. The chicken and mushrooms had a great spice. The noodles had a great chew and the broth was incredibly flavorful. However soon after I finished I was feeling off, my stomach began to hurt but I went on with my evening. Before long I felt horrible everything hurt and when I got home I won't go into graphic detail but I was sick from both sides. Today I have only managed to keep down saltines and gingerale.
Not a bad spot since it is right next to the movie theater. Lots of parking near here unless there is an event going on. Would come back to try the combo meal they are trying to introduce. Employee were friendly. The surprising dish would be the fried rice since wasnt expecting that kind of flavor from such a small spot and was fast too. The pan fried dumplings were good. Did not like the sesame wonton too much since the sauce was too thick so it was hard to mix around. Would definitely come back for the fried rice though.

And while the interior is nice and attractive, the food was a disappointing let down. We ordered the Popcorn Chicken and the Black Pepper Wagyu Dumplings and they were both tough and chewy, as if they came out of the freezer and microwaved. Both were slightly cool instead of hot, so if they've een sitting around for a while too. At least the Popcorn Chicken did taste like regular popcorn chicken even though it was lacking the nice tenderness and texture I would expect from it, but the black pepper Wagyu dumpling simply does not taste anything like Wagyu or much of anything for that matter. The dumpling wrapping didn't seem like it was steamed on a pan, and lack that softness that can just melt in your mouth. The best part of our meal was us mixing the soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil together so we can have some decent flavor to add to the lackluster dumplings. There is potential to the menu, they just need to serve better food.
Solid choice for quick and tasty dumplings! This is a great option for a quick bite with plenty of options. We ate in and were pleased by the service and overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Note: they have lots of meat and non-meat options! We tried the Dan Dan noodles, spicy pork and shrimp Szechuan dumplings, black pepper wagyu beef dumpling, har gow,, and bbq pork bao. The pork and shrimp Szechuan dumplings were the star for sure! Great flavor. Only feedback is I wish they had more of the numbing qualities of Szechuan peppercorn. I could have done a bit spicier. The Dan Dan noodles were very flavorful and I've never had them with beef. I would have preferred with pork, but the beef was still tasty. I wish the har gow and black pepper wagyu dumpling had a bit more flavor, but once dipped in sauce it's great! Pro tip: if you get the Szechuan dumplings - dip the black pepper wagyu dumplings in the sauce!!
I got the wagyu dumplings and wow they were so good. Very filling too, I almost couldn't even finish them all! At first I was a bit disappointed because they didn't have any more of the soup dumplings that I came for but still had a very good experience. They also had some fun drink options inside too. Loved the outdoor seating too, very cool outdoor mall vibes!
Ooh I was super excited to try out this spot during it's soft opening after having been to their Anaheim location. You order at the kiosks but you can also view the menu above. It's a quick eatery type of place perfect for a snack or lunch. We were handed our orders directly by the male staff and we enjoyed snacking outside in the patio. The Har Gow (shrimp) dumplings were good but I didn't like the crunch of the ginger inside. 4/5, the BBQ pork siao pao was fluffy and delicious I enjoyed the warm comforting taste of the dumpling! 5/5 Overall it was a great spot to stop by at for a bit and enjoy a nice break munching on dumplings!!
Came to try Chubby Dumpling during their soft opening. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is nice and welcoming. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. They have nice music playing in the background as well. It's super easy to order through their tablet (so I think this establishment is card-only). They, unfortunately, didn't have the combos available yet so I settled on getting everything separately. I ordered the steamed black pepper Wagyu dumplings, Wagyu noodles, Dan Dan noodles, popcorn chicken and steamed custard bun. My favorite was definitely the dan Dan noodles because of the flavor and creaminess. I liked the Wagyu dumplings but they weren't super hot but the flavor was good. Overall, I recommend this place. This place is good for what it is, I am glad to have seen an older Chinese lady making the dumplings by hand especially because this location is next to a Chinese place where robots make your fried rice. You can actually taste experience and care in these dumplings. The menu has a good enough variety of dumplings, I kinda wish they didn't feel like upcharging beef dumplings because of wagyu, I don't need wagyu at a grab and go dumpling location lol This place is still new so they didn't even have the combos available to order from the kiosk. There is plenty of seating and I like that you can fill your own soda. The sodas are a combination of the fancy ones and the regular kind. They also have bottled teas and stuff you can take from their fridge. I got the wonton in chili oil and they were good enough for me to feel full but not too full. They weren't spicy at all, just more on the sweeter side. My friend got the potstickers and the filling tasted really good. Parking is free and easy at the garage off of Orange. If you need a really fast bite before a movie at the AMC this is a good option.

The Wagyu Stir Fried noodles had savory sweet noodles that were enjoyable the first few bites but got heavy as it went on. The Wagyu inside was tough to chew through. Might go with the Wagyu dandan noodles instead next time.
Ok so I thought I would try this place out. Hmmm, I ordered pork xiao long bao, chicken fried rice and chicken chow mean. XLB only came with 6 dumplings! For $11.50. The pork filling was tough not much soup, maybe frozen. Fried rice tasted like a non Asian dish with frozen veggies mix added, barely any chicken veggies were al dente especially peas. Not pleasant to chew. The Chow mein was packaged noodles again barely chicken and not much flavor. This was an expensive try with both chow mean and fried rice at $17.50 each. Wouldn't suggest this place. I would rather go to Din Tai Fung.
Ok-- let me preface by saying that I rarely give 1 star to establishments. The reason for my rating is that I can, in no way, justify the price for the quality of the product. WAGYU FRIED NOODLES 5/10: These wagyu fried noodles were not bad. The noodle has a decent amount of flavor, the steak has a bit of a smokey flavor and it does add to the noodle dish. However, I would think that calling the steak "Wagyu" is a bit misleading. I would by no means call this Wagyu and the dish, in its entirety, is a bit underwhelming. BEEF DUMPLINGS 3/10: I have been to multiple Japanese restaurants that have served dumplings. I do have to say that these dumplings fall short in both texture and taste. The filling lacked seasoning and was a chewy meat ball inside a wrapper. The wrapper itself was a bit thick and was not soft. It was not the worst but I was extremely disappointed in the quality especially considering that they are roughly 16 dollars. WONTON IN CHICKEN SOUP 0/10: This was inedible. As someone who is a huge fan of wontons in chicken soup, or wonton soup, this was perhaps the worst soup I have tried, unfortunately. When I initially ordered it, I had hopes of it being a nice, warm, hearty soup to have after me and my partner ate the rest of the food. The broth was straight up sodium and left an unpleasant aftertaste that grabbed my tongue. The broth tasted artificial. When I told my partner that I couldn't eat it because it would irritate my tongue, he told me that he'd eat it instead and not to worry--he couldn't even eat it. He said that the wontons had a funky taste to them. Really disappointed. MUSHROOM DUMPLINGS? 2/10: These were meant to be chicken dumplings but they got our order wrong. I admit, I do not like mushrooms, so that is where most of my rating came from. However, the flavor of the dumplings was slightly unpleasant and my partner who does eat mushrooms agreed as well. SERVICE --/10: We got this through Postmates so this rating is strictly based on the food itself. I'd also like to note that they did not provide us with any dipping sauces for the dumplings. For 70 dollars, we were extremely disappointed.

Based on my previous visits to other Chubby restaurants this concept and idea is not what I was expecting. The Chubby Cattle in Monterey Park was my first Chubby Club adventure, this is the location that made me want to buy into the club. Since my first outing they've opened a plethora a Chubby Concepts. I was very excited about it but each location and different concept that I encounter continues to diminish in value. We spent $120 for 3 people. Here's why I have a problem with this: 1) Ordering is a walk up kiosk. Nobody greeted us, nobody spoke with us. The Chubby app say to ask the waiter how to receive perks. Because the customer orders on a screen, there are no waiters so I had to catch the eye of the guy preparing food to ask how the perks work. He looked at me blankly then quizzically and said, "No?" 2) The quality of the food definitely NOT worth the money spent. While none of the food is "bad", it is much more evident that the majority of the food is heated from frozen or lower quality even though it is advertised with buzz words such as "wagyu" or "kurobuta". For $40 a person I definitely need better food. 3) I'm only a low tier bronze member but I did spend the money to be more than a free club member. I was under the impression that I ALWAYS get a discount at any Chubby Club location. Even if it was only 10% or $5 for up to 2 ppl, it probably would have made me appreciate this location more. Perhaps Chubby grew too big, too fast. I don't know. What I do know is that the more popular it gets, the quality diminishes. read more

I ordered the dan dan noodles and the meat was seasoned like carne asada, the noodles were gummy and the sauce was bland. Not anything remotely similar to authentic dan dan noodles. Admittedly the manager said they are working on changing the menu, and many of the food options were out of stock... should've known. I was in kind of a rush and I wasn't able to get a refund but it was literally inedible. Will see if it makes me sick! read more

I had some time to kill before going to the movies and I initially came in because I loved the name! The space is slightly bare with simple chairs and tables with a cool neon light sign, one self check out and grab your own drink. Super straight forward! I order the ramen because it hard to come by a tawianeses beef ramen in the valley. It didn't disappoint, only thing is that I wish it was a bit spicer. I came to Chubby Dumplings for some dumplings. Unfortunately, they were all out of dumplings, or should I say, all of the dumplings I wanted to try. A bit ironic that Dumplings is in the name of the place, yet they don't have any - not a good sign. This is another place where you order by iPad - no human contact. I settled for some Spicy Chicken Wontons. The spice wasn't really there, and the wontons were hard and lacked flavor. I also ordered the Wagyu Beef Ramen. The broth and noodles in the ramen were ok, but the Wagyu Beef was not good at all. It was chewing, gristly, and had zero flavor. After several attempts to get I good bite of beef, I gave up and just ate the noodles. In a word . . . disappointing. On the plus side, they didn't serve the dine-in dishes in paper or plastic containers, and they had condiments on all of the tables. I came in to try the dumplings (which they didn't have) so I will refrain from stating, one-and-done, but this experience was so disappointing, I'm not sure I will be back. read more

Stopped by chubby dumplings yesterday during their soft opening and it was not what I expected. The restaurant is order at the counter/counter service restaurant which is totally fine, but there is pretty limited seating on the inside , so on a weekend it'd almost be best to order and take it with you since it's located right by the movie theater and lots of high walking traffic area. We were lucky to snag a table at the time we came though. The staff was great and worked fast to get everything clean between patrons. Now to the most important part THE FOOD: delicious!!! We had the wontons in Szechuan oil, pork soup dumplings and the spicy garlic noodles with braised pork. everything was tasty. I would definitely try this spot again at some point because the full menu looks really tasty , just kinda wish the chubby group would somehow try to do a full restaurant version of this concept because I definitely would order more food and prob make my way to Burbank more often lol. read more

After a long morning and feeling quite a bit hungry, I was in the area to watch a movie. Being a Burbank regular, seeing a SOFT OPENING sign is always welcome. The area has been getting busier and it always good to see new places to try! Chubby Dumplings boasts a fast option to getting your dumpling fix and for me, that sounded like a winner. I love dim sum and when I saw Siu Mai apart of the menu, well, no need to say more. The interior was clean and with an open kitchen concept, you can see meals and noodles being freshly made. I was excited to say the least. I got the braised beef bowl and the Sui Mai for my meal and let me say, this was a bit disappointing. Let's start with the bowl. The ratio between veggies, beef, and rice were completely lopsided. There was a ton of rice and hardly any veggies (yes, I enjoy my veggies) or beef. From what I counted, it was roughly 6-7 pieces of beef with a small amount of bok choy (see picture). To me the ratio needs a bit of adjusting as the bowl had so much more room. I would have skimmed more the rice and added more veggies if possible. Taste-wise I knew that it wasn't going to blow my mind, but it was just simply ok. The Siu Mai was displayed in the front and I was excited to taste it. Coming from a litany of Chinese Dim Sum houses, my expectations were really low due to the difference in concept, but this in my opinion really tasted like I bought it frozen at a market and steamed it at home. It was forgettable. To be honest, I was so excited, but I am glad to visited as its a SOFT OPENING and there is much more room for improvement. The young woman working last night was the sweetest, I was hesitant to eat here because I didn't see any obviously marked vegan options, but she figured out that's what I was looking for and checked multiple times with the chef to help me figure out that the tofu veggie fried rice would be the best option for me. The service was amazing, and the food actually blew my expectations away, it was absolutely delicious! There was plenty of seating in and outside and a bathroom without a code needed, so it was a great spot to hang out, enjoy the food and people watch! read more
I was given rave reviews but some friends in town, so initially I was excited to try this place out. Walking in, the only person in the shop was the employee; who was definitely not instructed to acknowledge potential customers. As he took zero effort to stop whatever he was doing (I don't recall what he was doing) and greet us. They mention combos on the physical menus overhead, but you must order via kiosk there is no place that shows a place for combos. Though most of the main items offered in the combos were unavailable, so that made things more disappointing than necessary. FIRST THING! We received no plates and there were no plates to be given out. When I asked for a plate for placement and dipping sauce, I was given a serving cup. ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME??? The Litmus Test for ANY dim sum house is the Har Gow, a shrimp dumpling with a thin and almost translucent wrapper. The ones here were THICK and awful. The shrimp was close to being designated as a 'microorganism' and overall tasted frozen and like it came from a generic factory. The Shu Mai was no better, I would have been charged less and gotten more value if I had gotten them frozen from Trader Joe's. My friend has bought spicy wontons, I do not remember which ones, but she had one and was done. They were equally as pathetic and were even stuck together, leaving raw feeling dough in the middle. A mother and child came in to browse the menu and I silently signaled to them that food was bad and to go elsewhere. THAT IS HOW DISAPPOINTING THE FOOD IS. On top of everything else, the music was very out of place and VERY VERY VERY LOUD. I could not have a conversation with my friend without yelling everything we needed to say. And I'm pretty sure random Latin music DOES NOT add well to a Dumpling styled restaurant. I went to Slice House afterwards just to have food that was worth buying. 0/10- AVOID AT SO COSTS IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DIM SUM OR LIKE IT IN ANY SMALL WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. read more
Ugh I hate that I have to give a 3 star rating especially since I was so excited for a dumpling place to open in Burbank but... First off I wasn't expecting counter service... okay fine. However, the line to order plus where the utensils and drinks are located AND no where to be while waiting for your order makes it kind of crazy. The space is too narrow for all of that to happen when the restaurant is busy. I personally hate when dumplings are served in to-go containers as default. I would rather go somewhere else to have dumplings steamed in bamboo baskets then served fresh to the table. This affects the taste GREATLY. We ordered a bunch of food and it was all kind of a let down. XLB were cold with little to no soup in them. The noodles were bland and needed black vinegar, a touch of soy sauce, some chili. We ordered dumplings with a side of sauce... that was maybe a 2 tablespoons of sauce. Again, if it wasn't to go and placed on the table I coulc controlled my sauce amount. The bao and other dumplings were not memorable. The pork wontons in the soup were decent but the soup itself was mid. Dumplings can and sometimes should be cheap but for the Chubby Restaurant prices and with their reputation this was a disappointment. Nothing worth coming back for. Sorry. read more

Stopped here last night after seeing a movie at AMC Burbank 16 as it was conveniently located right across the way! Since they were still in their soft opening phase, it wasn't too busy when we arrived. We were able to order at the kiosk without having to wait. The employee explained that they didn't yet have everything on the menu. Thankfully they had the item I wanted, which was the vegan dumplings! I am always thankful for vegan options and was excited to try theirs. I'm not normally the biggest fan of mushrooms, but they did such a great job with incorporating them in the filling to make them taste perfectly meaty! The chili oil sauce that it came with was perfectly spiced and added a nice tang to the dumplings when using it as dunking sauce. It was 6 dumplings for $10 and was a great value as it left me feeling full and satisfied! The restaurant itself was bright and had lovely decor. It felt fun and vibrant. Since it's still brand new, it was very clean and the furniture was comfortable and in great condition. Even though it's a fast casual vibe, it's still very much an enjoyable place to eat. Parking was super easy in the free lot right behind on Orange Grove and there's often plenty of street parking as well. read more

I love the Chubby Group restaurants so I was excited to come across this location! Came during soft opening dates, so the options were limited to the soft opening menu. There were still several options, and we took our pick of a few things. My favorite was the sesame dumplings because the sauce was DELICIOUS. I ended up dipping my other dumplings into that sauce as well. I also really enjoyed the quality of the wagyu beef in the dumplings and the noodle soup. We ordered via the self serve screens up front and the food was ready within 15 minutes. Overall, a very nice location with casual vibes. read more

As some the other reviews have said: The food here tastes like microwaved or reheated frozen dumplings. Many of the menu items that we wanted to try were not available. The food came out suspiciously quick - like they were just popped into the microwave. We ordered four different dishes and we thought they were all mediocre. The Wagyu Dumplings were probably the worst -- they tasted like they were not reheated properly and kind of doughy. The Wontons in Szechuan Chili Oil were alright. The popcorn chicken was also okay, but a little overcooked (over-reheated?) and dry. The photos of the food were very obviously AI generated as others have pointed out, which isn't the best look if you can't advertise your own real food. The AI images also kind of looked unsettling and unappetizing. The ordering system works really smoothly. Decent amount of seating, both inside and a few outside too. Pretty disappointing, the branding and concept is great, just lacks on the most important thing: the food. read more

This place was still in soft opening when I came by. I would be willing to try it again when they get more of their menu items out. The service was really good. The worker came to check on us to make sure we were good. The ambiance is nice and modern. I recommend getting the sesame noodles. They were super tasty. read more

Such a disappointment. They have one job, to make dumplings... and they do it poorly. The dumplings were bland, we kept labeling on soy sauce, vinegar and chile oil to get some kind of taste. And nothing. We had the pork bun (tasted like it had been defrosted), the Dan Dan noodles: bland and flavorless, the pork and cabbage dumplings: no flavor and the fried beef dumplings (which were the only decent things.. and even they weren't great). The space itself is clean, you use a computer to order, it's freezing cold though with the AC on full blast... we won't be back read more

I am a fan of beef noodle soup and was craving it for some time. Luckily, my husband and I are avid moviegoers at the AMC Theatres in Burbank, so we were curious about trying out Chubby Dumplings after we recently saw a film at the AMC Burbank 16. I believe the restaurant is still in their soft opening phase, so the hours may be a bit unusual. We ordered a Taiwanese wagyu beef ramen soup and a wagyu beef rice bowl. They all came out piping hot and fresh, and most of all, delicious. The wagyu beef for both entrées was super supple and tender, like the meat just fell off the bone. I really want to come back again just for their beef noodle soup. I recommend it! read more

Not too bad of a spot. The portions are kinda small, but I would come again if in the area and hungry. I got the crisp cucumbers which were good, but I was expecting the portion to be this big. The noodles on the other hand were a bit small, but they were decent. This location is next to jam jam tea bar which is convenient. The ambiance is pretty chill. read more

This review is only based on my very limited experience and order at Chubby Dumplings. Before my visit, I had already had a full meal so just decided to stop by to get a little dessert and ordered the custard bun. It was rather small and disappointing in terms of taste. The service was friendly though. Lively location with a movie theater right across and plenty of parking structures nearby as well. read more
