The perfect meditative experience. I only eat sushi by myself I rarely go out with my wife or a crowd . But I want to focus on the sushi, not a conversation. Tokyoya Met my expectations The sushi chef created me a creative hand roll while I waited for my main order, See picture Excellent and complicated and fresh I'm a fan of chiriashi . It provides the sushi chef with the opportunity to express creativity on top of freshness and presentation . It was artistic, beautiful and succulent see picture , Their service was friendly as usual , It was fresh. If I lived I lived in Burbank. I'd eat here weekly. This place easily matches the top five on a list of sushi restaurants in the country Its the music, the ambience , the service , and the sushi they're all excellent

This place is amazing!!! The staff is friendly, chefs are awesome, place is clean and just a nice place to go and have a delicious meal! They source their fish fresh daily and everything is melt in your mouth, buttery, and soooo good! Shoutout to Isabel for her recommendations and great service. I've been here 3xs so far and will definitely be back for more. It's dangerous having this right down the street but in the best way cuz idk if I'll be able to have the will power to not eat here every day lol

Baked Green Mussel Appetizer (6pc) i already ate two haha

i ordered on uber eats a random spot. i didn't realize they were close to closing when i ordered. i talked to the lady on the phone i asked for eel sauce on the side she was very nice. i got the food and wow i ordered the nigiri combo it was such an array of different sushi. and the chef put a lot of care into making it. it came with miso soup and this little shrimp and salad with this sauce. the shrimp was cold and refreshing the sauce for it was so good. the baked green mussels were so yummy. i'm so happy and glad i picked a random spot. now i need to go in person next time. thanks

Chose this place because of the reviews, unfortunately, it was just decent. Nothing to really brag about! Food: Hot Night Roll, spicy chicken combination, and baked salmon rolls. The hot night roll, and the spicy chicken combo was 7/10. I did not like how it was only 2 California rolls that came with it or no option for brown rice. However, the baked salmon rolls were not delicious! We took them back and just ordered the salmon nigiri that was just ok as well. Drinks: hot sake and strawberry soju that was good because you cannot go wrong! Service: The service was not that great! Our server was not attentive to us and she forgot to bring our water, and forgot the baked salmon roll. We literally waited for 20 mins and had to tell her, which she pretended she already knew and it was being made which was false. Ambiance: It was very small inside with not a lot of seating and not really modern to me. They had a tv so that made the experience decent. It wasn't crowded so the vibe was chill, so I was cool with that. Overall, I do not think I will come again! But nothing is wrong with trying. It is parking in the lot and easy parking. Also, it's located right next to Gus's fried chicken easy to find.

1 star - inside tiny plaza with plenty of parking arriving at 8pm on a Thursday 1 star - seated right away (not a single customer inside on a Thursday evening 8p) 1 star - chopsticks wrapped in plastic so we knew it was clean, table, plate was clean too 1 star - the sushi was pretty good, we ordered a bunch of nigiri's, 2 sushi rolls (Yosemite Roll, Yellowstone Roll), chicken teriyaki bento and an albacore tuna with crispy rice as an appetizer. All were very fresh tasting. Too little rice for me but wife liked it that way. 0 star - $2 for tea for 2 small cups of tea, the host who greeted us did not seem kind or welcoming. She also took our order too. I bet my fam she wouldn't even say thank you or bye when we walked out and I was correct. The chefs said bye at least but not her. I might come back if I'm in the area but may try another spot. Came here only bc it was the first listed spot for sushi when I yelped it. Not just good tasting food matters but when you feel welcomed and wanted to come back it makes the difference.

    Ex girlfriend roll (recommend)

I was really looking forward to trying this place with my family but I left pretty disappointed. The service was mediocre, they only started helping a bit more when they saw we ordered so many items and kept ordering. The ambiance was better inside than it looks on the outside but it's a pretty small place. The rolls were pretty small / unfulfilling for the prices that they charge. You probably can't tell from the pics that I took but I'm comparing to local places that I've personally been to. The original ones that I ordered which were omg, toro dragon, rainbow, spicy tuna, Philadelphia and popcorn lobster I would say were underwhelming. Then we added Yosemite, ex girlfriend and champion rolls...these three I'd recommend which is why I gave them the 3 stars. Now I changed it to 2 stars when I realized they charged us $5 for one can of soda, seriously? Overall, there are a lot better sushi restaurants in the nearby area that I'd prefer to go to. Our bill was over $200 without any alcohol. We also kept getting asked if we were done. Whether they needed our plates or the two tables we were at, it wasn't the best of service. I wish them luck and I'm pretty sure I've seen this place from afar and I'll keep it that way. I don't plan to return.

I came for dinner and I enjoyed this place. I had the baked salmon roll which is always a good bet a sushi places. I also had unagi, which has been my favorite since visiting Japan. It's definitely quality fish and very tasty. Everything I ordered here was good and not a bad sushi place in Burbank. They were busy, busy on a Friday night, but still pleasant and completely understandable.

I have never dined here before but have passed by it at least a hundred times. Today while running some errands I somehow ended up here with my husband to have lunch. What a cute place.... We walked in and were greeted right away and seated right away. The hostess also our waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered a few rolls and really enjoyed our lunch. I loved their Yellowstone roll. We also got the ex girlfriend roll which was good as well. I honestly didn't think that this sushi place will be added to one of my go to places in Burbank. We were never able to find a good sushi spot in Burbank til now. I'm so happy we stopped by to give it a try.

Oku-Niku Japanese BBQ did not disappoint and provided both delicious Japanese meals and excellent customer service. Our waiter Sergio was excellent. Thank you Sergio! He kept bringing out replenishment for the different types of meat. We ordered the Premium All You Can Eat for $79.50 per person. It was very much worth the price for what they serve you along with the quality of meats. This Premium All You Can Eat for $79.50 per person included A5 Wagyu. I'm sure you know that A5 Wagyu is the highest grade of Japanese beef. It was tender, rich and buttery. Included in the Premium All You Can Eat for $79.50 per person are to name a few, Scallop, Yellow Tail, Truffle Salmon Roll, Brussel Sprout, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Soft Shell Crab and Beef Tongue. The cuts and the quality of the meat along with the quality of the seafood is 5 stars. Oku-Niko Japanese BBQ is now added to our list of favorite eateries to frequent with family and friends. Will be back here again next weekend and we're so looking forward to it.

AYCE Prices? My Wallet Said Absolutely Not…read more Not gonna lie -- I am not your typical "pay as you go" gal, and sadly my stomach can no longer survive all-you-can-eat the way it used to. Although this spot offers AYCE for $79.50 per person, the seven of us decided to go the smarter route and order à la carte instead. And honestly? We still ordered enough food to probably qualify for AYCE anyway. Totally forgot to snap a picture of the menu because our stomachs were already making decisions before our brains could. We ordered everything from: * sushi rolls * mushrooms appetizer * shishito peppers * seaweed salad * broccoli * soy garlic edamame * dumplings * fried rice bulgogi * chicken karrage * garlic shrimp * beef tongue * chicken breast * and of course the star of the night, the Wagyu ribeye beef which was about $45 a plate for roughly 7-8 slices? Most of the food honestly didn't even make it into photos because the table instantly attacked everything the moment it arrived. I don't know the total bill since it was my birthday dinner, but I'm pretty sure it cost a very pretty penny lol. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and I'd give the experience about an 8/10. The only downside was the service was a bit slow. We had the only reservation at 1 PM, yet it still took a few tries to flag someone down when we needed things, so service overall was just okay. Welcoming ambience with beautiful interior with plenty of tables. I'm assuming reservation would be more recommended on weekends? Still a fun birthday meal with lots of good food and full bellies. Happy eats!

DineLA Week comes around only twice a year. Once in the winter (January/February) and once in the…read moresummer (July/August). If nothing else, I always make an effort to squeeze in at least one new restaurant in their lineup. For one, I get to sample what each restaurant considers to be their most popular menu items or exclusive dishes. Also, it's often a tasting menu that offers a little bit more. More like a foodie's bonus prize, just for participating. Yakumi looked good this time around. Probably because I'd eat sushi any day/every day, if I could. And I was able to find a quick prix fixe style sushi solution without roshambeau'ing with myself for hours, deciding on what to eat. YAKUMI BOX + THE DineLA MENU On the regular menu, the Yakima Box is $29 and no drink's included. During DineLA week, this filling lunch choice was just $25 and came with a shōchū cocktail as a refreshing bonus. It included: + Sunomono or seaweed salad + 1 piece of tuna sushi + 2 pieces each of yellowtail, salmon, and albacore topped with fried shallots (Note: It's not the fresh green scallions with ponzu sauce recipe) + A choice of 2 classic rolls like 2-piece baked crab roll, or 4-pieces of yellowtail jalapeño, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, avocado, and California roll (Note: The crab roll was buttery and tasty; the spicy tuna was standard) + My bonus drink: Mango Lychee Shochu The fish was fresh, the mango lychee cocktail was refreshing. Both were on the lighter side and pleasant for a lunchtime meal. INDOOR SEATING + OUTDOOR PATIO Sit inside or outside? To settle the debate, I did both while waiting for my lunch date to arrive. The warm, sunny patio was lovely, but there are only a few spots in the shade during certain times of the day, even with the awning drawn. Indoors, it's quaint and mirrors the koi fish artwork that graces the corner of the restaurant's exterior. It adds an authentic seafood-centric, Japanese charm to the ambiance. Service was prompt, although it wasn't a very busy time. Just across the street at Alfred Coffee, however, the second wave of a caffeine rush hour--needing their daily fix--rolled by as we paid. For me, on the other hand, the light shōchū buzz and pleasant stroll to my car was a foodie's bonus I'd come back for again.
