The food here was good and decent but tbh I feel like there are just better Shabu options around ktown and dtla. They have valet parking, and the service here was just okay (but not amazing) for a big party. The inside is really big and kinda dark in some spots. Not a bad experience by any means but I wouldn't come back.

Visited Shabuya today for lunch. The hotpot was amazing. We entered around one and were seated almost immediately. We scanned the menu to view our hot pot options, place our broth and protein order and got right to it. Before we could fill our platters with noodles and vegetables, our hot pot was heating up. Our server was attentive. Refilled our broth when needed, and made sure our dining experience was great. The hotpot selection is awesome, they have everything you want and more for a delicious hotpot. What's your flavor?

Wear your biggest T shirt cause it's a lot of food. I love how spacious this location is and private parking that fills up fast. It's always neat and clean. Food selection still the same since I first came here they added 3 more condiments. Service so far is excellent and on point. For 2 peopl we paid 80ish cause we got 3 drinks. Alhambra location is my favorite because it has more sauces and side choices but further away. This is the next best location.

A good time

Francine and andrew gave us amazing sêrvice. I would definitely be back again just for them!

I've been to Shabuya a few times over the last several years and just realized I've never written a review. Yesterday's experience was by far the best. I felt their sauces have improved...especially their peanut sauce. The meats were all tasty, nice selection of veggies, seafood (shrimp, crab, crawfish, clams, mussels), dumplings, etc., The space is huge with plenty of seating. We got there right when it opened so there wasn't a wait. Service was good. The one thing that bothered me was that they charged for parking. There's a part of me that feels if you are located outside of ktown and have a big lot, parking should be free. Though it's only $2, it annoyed me being it was Sunday during lunch time. But this will be my go-to shabu shabu spot near ktown.

You know a shabu shabu place is good when it's packed on a Monday evening! Get there early or wait in line. Try to make a reservation if you can. We arrived at 6:00 PM and got right in. By 6:30, there was a long line. I'm not going to go into great detail. It's a chain, it's a nice place, the quality is good, and so is the service. I'm impressed that even though the floors are concrete, it's not uncomfortably loud in there. I don't know what they did to dampen the noise, but it works. I gotta' come clean. No matter what the meat dish, to me, they all taste about the same. I would have been equally happy not doing the meat but just getting what they had in the buffet line. Maybe it's just me. Just sayin'. I'm taking one star off because there was no fruit. It would have been nice to at least have some orange slices to cleanse the palate like they do at other shabu shabu places I've been to. Other than that, this place is really well-run, and the quality is excellent. There's easy valet parking in back, and the grounds walking in from the parking lot are beautiful. I may or may not come back, but it was an enjoyable experience. If I came back, I'd probably stick an orange or two in my pocket to have at the end of the meal!

Shabuya has been one of my all-time favorite shabu-shabu restaurants ever since it first opened many years ago. It's AYCE (All You Can Eat), and the quality of the meat is mostly good. They also have a wide variety of fresh vegetables and seafood selections, and I love that each person gets their own individual pot. My whole family loves this place, and I've also come here many times with friends for gatherings. We went there on Saturday, October 18, to celebrate my father's birthday since this is one of his favorite restaurants. As usual, I put my name and phone number on the waiting list machine at the entrance, but this time the wait wasn't too long. Our family of nine had a great dinner together. The food was delicious, and all the servers were friendly and attentive. But, at first, they seated us at two tables that each fit four people, and said since we had nine people, only eight would get individual pots while one person would have to share--but we'd still be charged the same. I wasn't too happy about that. But later, when the next seat table became available, they offered to let two of us move there so everyone in our family could have their own pot. That was very good. Normally our family has eight members, but that night my niece's friend joined us, so there were nine of us total.

This place is great if you're coming with family. Kids had fun cooking their own food, and it kept them entertained the whole time which is always a plus. It can get a bit busy, but staff kept things moving and were helpful explaining how everything works. Food quality was solid. Not mind-blowing, but fresh and hits the spot. Broth options were good and there's a decent variety of meats, veggies, and sides. Sauce bar was nice too--you can customize to your liking. Price-wise, you get what you pay for. It's not cheap, especially with a family, but for all-you-can-eat hot pot in LA, it's fair value. Definitely one of those places you come hungry to make it worth it. Overall, a fun experience especially with kids. Would come back again, just not all the time.

The best hot pot my family and I has had yet in our neighborhood. This restaurant has a huge variety of selection from seafood, vegetables, tofu, sauces, and noodles. The meat is absolutely delicious and top quality. If you are looking to go treat yourself or surprise that special guest this is a place to go. I hope you give this place a try and would love to hear your feedback

Went to Shabuya for a weekend lunch outing with the wifey. We were both craving some shabu shabu, and we definitely enjoyed our lunch at Shabuya. They had a very good selection of meats, veggies, and side dishes to make it a really terrific lunch experience for us. The service was attentive and the overall experience was very pleasant. If you have never been, it is mostly serve yourself. You grab all of the proteins, and vegetables and other side dishes you want to put into your suitcase. You cook the food at your table, and then you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. If you've never tried it before, you should definitely give it a go.

It was my first time trying hot pot and I was so excited! I am vegetarian so the server suggested the miso broth. I was impressed with how many options available to add to the soup! The server suggested a few things so we went with what he said and it was very tasty! It was busy when I went but it was definitely worth the wait.

I come this to this location often. Service is always good. I wish that they served quality eggs like some of their other location. Nonetheless, still a great place for hot pot! The veggies and seafood are fresh. The service is always decent. The price is good for AYCE. I like ordering #3 and #5 for meats. I usually get miso or sukiyaki for the broth. Their goma and egg sauce is good! There is street parking and valet parking for $2. There are times you can join the waitlist on yelp but sometimes it is closed and have to walk in. Wait is never long maybe about 5-20 mins at max.

Ask the Community - Shabuya

What type of food is it?

It's called shabu shabu, which is a Japanese hot pot. You cook thin meats, vegetables, noodles, etc in a broth. It's delicious and there are a lot of other foods that you can choose as well that are already cooked as well. Chicken wings, salad,… Read more

Do they have spicy miso broth or just miso?

Does any of the broths contain peanuts?

They have five broths as far as I know they don't, it's miso, original, spicy miso, tonkotsu, and sukiyaki, they are mostly meat and veggie broth but I'm not sure exactly what's in the spices in a couple of them.

Do we get our individual pot?

Yes!

Can I make a reservation?

You can check-in on the Yelp waitlist for faster seating

Is the lunch price based on when you get there or when you leave?

When you get there

Can I have solo lunch there?

Tried to dine solo here a few months ago and told they don't allow it. There are much better shabu restaurants around ktown. AkiShabu and Bon Shabu are great and allow solo dining. Enjoy!

Are you guys open today (memorial day)?

Yes

Are there gluten-free options? (FYI I called and they do not have any gluten-free sauces)

Sure. Meat, seafood, and vegetables are gluten free. Stay away from noodles for that gluten free experience.

Can you make a reservation?

No, but you can check in on yelp

Do they have a vegetarian broth? And vegan? Thank you

They offer a miso soup base, but you would have to ask if it is vegetarian or vegan.

Do you they still ask for vaccine cards? I would like to come for my birthday and would like to make sure.

Just went today, no vaccine card required.

Do you have Parking?

Free parking it lot week days lunch And the best shabu and service for the price in Los Angeles

Is there a rate for seafood or is it the same as vegetarian?

It's the same as the meat + seafood menu

Is it vegetarian friendly?

yes, they have many vegetable options and also carry tofu

How much weekday dinner?

Lunch is 23.99 and dinner is 29.99

Which broth is less fishy?

Besides the Sukiyaki Broth, Definitely the Pork Broth is the least "fishy" tasting broth

Do they still offer outdoor dining?

They offer indoors now

Do they require vaccinations still? Or can I just provide a negative Covid test? I called and they said no vaccinations are not required but I need to make sure since I'm driving an hour away.

Vaccination still required

Are they back to buffet style yet?

yes

This restaurant came up on my IG feeds... looks awesome... we were not disappointed! The restaurant does not take reservations online. They also have a la carte, hot pot, etc. We had crew set which includes 1.4 lbs Manila clams, 2 whole shell oyster, large clams, shrimps, mussles, scallops, octopus, potatoes, served with korean ceviche, steam egg, pancake, spicy rice cakes, korean noodle soups. There are 3 different dipping sauces which are delicious. It is a lot of food. You definitely get your money worth here. The staff is friendly and attentive. They cooked the seafood at the table. The air ventilator is pretty good but I probably won't wear my must dry-clean clothes to dine here. Overall, Burnin' Shell did live up to its hype!
