The appetizers included are phenomenal, and my favorites were kimchi cucumber and steamed egg and japchae, but of course, the price was $47 per person for ayce dinner on a weekday night so it's definitely a risk benefits assessment to come here. Service was busy but friendly, and there was some delay between orders and arrival of food, but overall the experience was fantastic. For a group of seven it is pretty awkward due to the spacing of the grills being super far away from each other, but not being large enough to feed more than three people max, to be a larger group he may end up sitting awkwardly separated by space. read more

There's valet parking, residential and street parking with meters. We were greeted by friendly staff members and the seating was great. Once we sat down, the fun began. They now have an iPad that breaks down all of the categories like side dishes, meats, beverages and more. The cool thing about Korean bbq is that the meat comes out raw and you cook it on the heated grill in front of you. We had beef, pork, shrimp and octopus. I can't confirm whether it was related, but the timing was concerning enough that I locked my card and contacted my bank. Aside from that, the restaurant itself was disappointing. My first time visiting Moodaepo and I can assure I will return as I had a good experience. I had seen mixed reviews, but this KBBQ definitely delivers when it comes to quality. All the meats we ordered tasted fresh and well marinated. The variety of sides were a huge plus. My favorite by far is the ramen, which was very rich in flavor. They have an ipad ordering system, which makes it super convenient and creates a smooth experience for both guest and employees. The only downside to this location is the seating. I was not a huge fan as the spacing felt a bit too crowded. We were a party of 3 and we shared the table with another group. For clarity, this visit took place on 04/02 at around 2:22 PM, which I can verify. You also stated there were multiple tables during lunch, which does not reflect what I experienced. When we walked in, there was only one other table seated with two people. The restaurant has a very open floor layout, so I would have clearly noticed if there were more. We stood at the front without being acknowledged. When I initially tried to order, I was told no and directed to use the tablet. While I understand the ordering system, it was not clearly explained how it works. I would not have assumed that drinks were included in the same 6 minute ordering restriction. Because of the attitude we experienced, I did not feel comfortable asking questions or clarifying. I already had to ask for napkins and forks and felt uncomfortable. Now imagine trying to order drinks after already being told I had to do it on the tablet. I understand there may be safety concerns with the grill, and I have no issue with staff stepping in. The issue was the attitude. It came across as rude, dismissive, and impatient. Although you said, "the specific wording you quoted does not align with how our team communicates with guests," I was told "forget it," which was my experience. For context, the person who brought out the check was actually very polite. My issue is specifically with the service we received from our server. We got beef brisket, beef bulgogi, short rib, pork belly, beef belly and a couple other things that one of my coworkers ordered. All the banchan was delicious and of good quality. Moodaepo is a BLAST! This is the perfect spot in Koreatown to go out with a group and have a really fun evening of KBBQ, drinks, & vibes! There was a slight wait when we went on a Saturday evening, but it moved quite fast and we ended up at a table in just a few minutes. The service here is REALLY fast! They definitely know how to keep things moving - our various banchan were out in no time and the meats we ordered not long after. They also asked us at one point to move tables so they could make room for a larger group, but that wasn't an issue at all (and they even gave us a free Soju in return)! The KBBQ itself is excellent - great quality cuts and tasted great when pairing with the different Banchan side items. Keep in mind, half the restaurant was empty. And while ordering food, the server looked like he hated us for ordering more food, giving us the dirtiest face. I understand working in the food service industry is difficult, but at least smile goes a long way. Luckily, another server towards the end of our meal, by the name Tom, assisted us. He was very helpful and friendly. The ambiance of this place was cool. Very modern and hip. But the massive downside is the music. So Honestly paying the $50 a person for premium meats didn't really feel like a good deal either when everything was just okay.
